We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 81 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to mercari.jp's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Fair. Valid. Known. tags above. Long story short, we deemed this a known website, with a low scam probability. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning mercari.jp, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between mercari.jp and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of mercari.jp. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of mercari.jp, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. mercari.jp is an innocuous suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether mercari.jp has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether mercari.jp boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, mercari.jp.

Catherine Kowal katkowal91 nasty seller, the item smelled like mold & she advised me the items are sold AS IS. Really what kind of low life dirty ???? am I dealing with here & why does mercari allow rude scumbags to sell and for free. It's the buyer paying fees to buy, supporting the site by spending money! Buy on eBay where a seller like this nasty fish wouldn't last.
Absolute worst online experience ever. Worst customer service ever. I have a 100,000 yen in my account which I am not able to withdraw. I keep getting an error message. When I try to contact for service I get a chatbot reply. And then they say my bank account has a problem. I have been using this Japanese bank account for 20 years for automatic withdrawals and deposits without a single problem. I will probably lose my money.
I don't know what this MECARI IS NEVER TRIED TO ORDER FROM THEM BUT THIS MORNING I CHECKED MY CARD AND THEY TRIED TO GET ME FOR $60 SHAME ON THEM GLAD I DONT USE THAT CARD SO IT WASN'T $60 ON ITSHAME ON THEM
Mercari, Japan, are a brilliant Company with several websites. They have good ideals and want to present kinder living, and value cryptoassets, and have eco policies. And they give good council to their employees in a world of e-commerce. As an Artist, PRS-MCPS Lifetime Member & British Libraries & Republic of Ireland (European Union) Author, I value Mercari's website statements of ideals. Customer service is absolutely rubbish.I had to contact them as my item got rejected for selling for no reason. The answers I received from customer service were all chatbotish- and they close the issue without solving it.Stay away from them. You'll just waste your time.カスタマーサービスが最悪です。問題が解決していないにも関わらず「このお問い合わせは終了しました」を送りつけ一切対応する気無し。誠実性ゼロで残念な体験でした。
Bought a bundle deal of three items. Seller forgot to ship the boots in the package, seller realized mistake, took full responsibility and wanted to ship me the item. Mercari closed our communication chat because the package showed delivered even though one item was missing they closed the deal, the seller and i are trying to do right. Honest seller, but mercari is horrible and is preventing us from communicating. They dont read English very well. This is based out of Japan e commerce and does not comply with American regulations.
I bought multiple items from Mercari JP using shopping service (Buyee) and I am so far happy with everything I got there. If you pay attention to the feedback, pictures and description you should be on the safe side. Everything I bought matched description and was in wonderful condition.
It's a great place if you want to sell your unused items. However, they will find sneaky ways to steal your money. Notification of "your points are expiring" meant not "you have some points that are going to be expired", it means "we will deduct your real money". It's not only me who feels angry about this, I have seen many people experiencing it too. Also, transferring your own money to your bank account is extremely DIFFICULT. They make it in a way that it's almost impossible to do so. I tried to transfer money to my bank account and was returned to my account for no reason, even though every information is correctly added, and the service fee was charged. Customer service replied to my inquiry in a way that it was my fault that the transaction didn't go through. They refused to answer simple questions and Im extremely frustrated by them. And guess what I'm not the only one who's experiencing this.
The consumer support is a joke, they give you the option to change the date, and say "f*$k you, you can't do it.”You will lose time, energy and patience.
I love everything I got and I would recommend to shop here!

“A Terrible Site for Buyers”
I'm a frequent buyer on online sites, and Mercari.com has to be the worst one I've dealt with. Some reasons: 1) A seller can cancel your purchase without providing a reason with no opportunity to provide feedback by the buyer. 2) The transaction fees for the buyer are very high -- check them out before buying. 3) Customer service is terrible if you have a problem with a seller. Mercari protects bad sellers and provides little support to buyers. Products used:I went back to using e-Bay.

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
