“Superb site which really helps people”

I have been a member for over 10 years and have found it a superb place. The moderating is not overly strong but enough to make it a safe place. I have lost track of the number of people whose lives have been saved (really!) by being able to talk with others who know how it feels to be desperate and alone. I am so grateful myself as I have been diagnosed with bipolar and find I have been supported through episodes by very gentle, kind people. I would recommend it to anyone as a safe haven for people to mix in. Try it out? Service Value Quality

“Garbage staff”

Not as much a matter of what you post as much as who is posting it. Huge bias on the staff's end favoring members who have been there longer. Also a rather noticeable size of right wingers and conspiracy theorists. Not a good place to be if you are seeking help.

“Not A Forum To Get Advice About Mental Health Anymore”

I joined this forum in 2016 and back then it was alright with some helpful members to help my mental health. Last summer I started a thread to get help about these funny feelings I had about a family member in their People section. The post got a couple of fairly unhelpful replies but then died off. Just this month though these idiots decided to bring the thread up again and began making very unpleasant comments about me and then calling me a paedophile which was really hurting for me. After over a dozen posts I snapped back at them and BANG! Straight in came a moderator and they removed my thread and punished me. They said that the forum isn't the place to post a thread like that which is rubbish because it says so. First I thought that it was only a warning. They didn't say that now they've put my account on moderation meaning I cannot make any posts unless the moderators are happy which they are not with the posts I make. Following the incident I've really fallen out with the website. There is this other user that's frequently posting false Covid-19 information on there and they never get any punishment for that. Even in frustration after that by letting off anger I reported their posts and guess what? Staff were not bothered with those posts. Get real life support if you need help with problems.

“Over moderated”

They won't even let you tell a harmless joke. It's DebbieDownerville too often. Very frustrating. On the plus side other mental health forums stink too. That's not really a plus, is it?

“So far everyone's been kind there”

I post now and again there and so far haven't had any problems with anyone, the moderators TiredTina and Mischief have both been kind to me when I got freaked out and messaged them about a concern I had. Edited to add: they re proving to have a sense of humour over there as well. I derailed a serious thread that was started by one of the admins there and worst that happened was my posts and the other posts that joined in the silliness, posted by other members, got moved to a non-serious section, instead of us all getting yelled at for daring to be silly in a serious thread. It was a thread about reporting spam, so to be silly I posted a picture of a tin of spam and reported it just to be silly, and as I said nothing bad happened they just moved my silly posts and the other posts that joined in the silliness. Edit: I post every day now and they don't punish if they know the reason why someone is acting that way is because of their mental health issues. The only thing that could improve this forum is having a chat room on there imo.

Well, definitely not a great experience, didn't even want to give it two stars, tried to start a thread but I'm assuming it was automatically deleted because I was looking for interest to decide whether I should do what I've been thinking about for many years which is start business tailored to counselling/therapy/mental health services, but going on reviews I've read I guess that was a little too real for them, I've been on it for a day now and have already been tested by a reply that I have seen before, the one that says "keep your small minded opinions to yourself" with the holier than thou signature so naturally I gave a smartarse response. I tell myself that the posts there are genuinely people who want help but then 70% of me says this is all just propaganda and trolling. There are definitely some dodgy characters looking for lonely hearts to take advantage of, most of the threads with reply posts are about people struggling in abusive relationships and its always the same person replying to them as far as I can tell.

“Shocking staff”

Very unprofessional. There are favourite members on this forum where a clear bias is given to them by the staff there. If you are not a favoured member or worse offend a favoured member. Admin will treat you how they want, breaking their own rules. They say you will always be told why you have been moderated and kept informed. Absolute rubbish. They will restrict, ban or take any other action they want with no communication and often no sufficient justification, and no chance to resolve it. Then you are locked out of the forum, your account is still there and you cannot defend yourself or do anything about it. I don't think the site should be closed down, but some of the admin need to go. Their attitude is appalling. They are dealing with mentally unstable people on this site. They don't seem to care that their actions could push someone over the edge, by isolating the person from the rest of the forum when they perhaps need it most. It is a power trip for some of them. I only wish there were more mental health forums out there. Then people would not have to put up with the pathetic behaviour of the staff on this one. The lack of compassion is staggering. Many nice members there. They will however defend staff as they truly cannot comprehend the juvenile, nasty behaviour until they find it aimed at them. But when it does happen to you, you will no longer be able to post or say anything about it anyway. A lot of people also unfortunately suck up to the favoured members to keep themselves in a good position on the forum. Understandable but sickening that this is the environment admin have created there. This site Admin should definitely be investigated. They are in a powerful position and are abusing it Service

“It's ran by snowflakes”

I was a member there, and was kind of put off by the moderators. One member claimed to be a black person. Her experiences, of course, would be very different than that of the average caucasion. Especially if they live in the U.S. It was interesting to see that the member posted that she was told by two of the moderators, so far, to not mention race/culture on the forum because it made HER look like a racist. She finally started using euphemisms to be politically correct? And the new moderator stated, that wasn't appropriate either. How can not mentioning race by using a "euphemism" make a statement inappropriate. Apparently, this member was being bullied daily by hispanics, caucasions, african americans, and any other race she would encounter in her location. Makes sense when you're black. There's not a day in the US, there isn't someone in the headlines showing prejudice/bigotry toward her kind. Which is why she probably sought help on that forum. Bullying leads to anxiety, depression and in many cases suicide. Apparently, it made the moderators who are apparently white in the UK/US, very uncomfortable. Looks like they didn't have the balls to do it in the past? But apparently, they put a new moderator named * up to do their dirty work. That member truly made a difference on the forum. She didn't just talk about herself and her problems. She reached out to the others, and certainly made quite a few of us laugh. She also posted about how other members PM'd her and assumed she was white, though she posted about her culture since the day she joined several months ago. Upon learning she was black, they either left the forum, or stopped posting. One in particular made a fool of himself (from Florida?) yes, thinking she was white, when she described her experiences in the gyms. I guess that member who made that assumption - also assumed black ladies don't go to the gym or are even looked at by white males. I wouldn't doubt that the ones that she seemed to make uncomfortable - didn't report her themselves, or say something to the moderators about a black person being on the forum that obviously scared the living sh**t out of their white world. *Personal information redacted by admin
