melia.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives melia.com a fairly high trust score on the platform: 80.8. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Fair. Valid. Known.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 80.8 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to melia.com's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Fair. Valid. Known. tags above. Long story short, we deemed this a known website, with a low scam probability. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning melia.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between melia.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of melia.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of melia.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. melia.com is an innocuous suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether melia.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether melia.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, melia.com.

It is extremely dirty, everything falls apart. The bed sheets are dirty, towels and everything else provided by the hotel. There is no ventilation in the hotel, it smells like mold everywhere.
Stayed at the lanzarote Meliá and the pool area is gorgeous - really quiet could always get 4 beds by the pool together bit disappointing after blowing up my lilo I was told I couldn’t use it. I didn’t read anywhere they are not allowed. There wasn’t even anyone else in the pool to disturb. The food was nice and drinks great. Ice cream all day :) rooms were clean and nice. Staff were pleasant. The staff running activities were brilliant. Especially beach volley and the yoga.
I had an HORRIFIC experience at the MELIA- DURRES resort. Upon checking in I found blood stains in my bed sheets, dirty towels, pillow cases and worst of all ANTS covering my bed. Upon informing the front desk of the UNCLEANLINESS, they reassured me that the cleaning staff would arrive and do a deep cleaning. After hours of waiting, the staff only changed the sheets..The next four days of my stay, the cleaning crew FAILED repeatedly to clean my room despite my requests at the front desk and door signage requesting this service.I WOULDN'T recommend staying here to any tourists who want to enjoy their travels. This hotel is a health hazard.
Melia Sunny Beach Bulgaria is in no way a 4 star hotel or experience and should not be described as such. It's a decent ish 3 star - be aware before you book. Here's some experiences/ suggestions to improve, in no particular order:- Please offer fresh coffee somewhere in the hotel!  All food & drink facilities only provide the vending machines/ self-serve coffee, which is not great- Please don't allow children to randomly come into the gym barefoot and use (play on) the equipment. A lot of the equipment did not work. Please improve, you can't really describe this as a 'fitness centre', it is below basic and has no air con, just a fan.- When we arrived at Reception, we were told we needed to go to a diff building/ block reception. Fine, but no one offered to help with our 5 cases, car seat and buggy, thanks for just watching us struggle after a long journey- People are smoking everywhere. There don't appear to be any non-smoking areas outside. Is it with considering some non smoking areas?- You serve beer outside only in small paper cups - if customers want a plastic outdoor 'glass' it is an extra one off charge. Really? paper cups are not great and a terrible waste as people all just throw them in the normal bins- Queues everywhere - 12pm snack station opens for chips (nowhere to get chips before this time) - big queue. Breakfast - big queue. Waiting for eggs at breakfast - queue. The hotel will say this is only during bust times, but the hotel can't cope with the number of guests it has so it's often busy- not enough options for snacks when not serving breakfast, lunch or dinner- 4th bed was not described as a sofa bed on the website, we assumed was a single. Not great.- £8 'transaction fee' (on top of exchange rate) to get £100 worth of cash at the hotel desk - rip off!- Most staff don't understand or speak English so it's hard to ask / get what you need, and most (but not all) staff look miserable to be there. Very sad- People throw down towels on sunbeds then go to breakfast having 'reserved' their lounger. The hotel were doing things to improve this (trying to remove some towels but not all) but not doing enough imo even they they said they are v strict on this (they are not, and sometimes just fold the towel and leave it next to the lunger it was reserving!)- Hotel feels like it has more rooms and guests than it can cope with. Shame as aspects are great, the pools are good, and location to beach is excellent (tho again we had occasion when no longers free on the beach)- For a 3 star it's fairly decent. It is NOT worthy of 4 star - need to manage expectations
Meliá in PalmaNot a 4 star as describedClearly an issue with their company culture and trainingCommunication and overall customer service very bad. Inconsistent and get most requests wrong the first time, from requesting something for our hotel room, to ordering at the restaurant and getting very different quality of meals despite ordering the exact same item 2 separate occasions. And just overall feel and look of the hotel is old, shabby.Biggest cat fish for a 4 star hotel. Take your money somewhere else.
We stayed at sol barbados this year for 10 nights what a disaster we had hardly any sleep the hole 10 nights people running up and down the corridors untill 3am slamming doors we had our grand son who had autisum who wasnt aloud in the play aera with his mom it was a drop off group for kids i did tell the staff about all these things but all they said was sorry and gave us a bottle of wine really ? We will never Ever go there again
We saved for two years for this holiday of a lifetime in a supposedly superior 2 bed family suite in the 5* / 4 T (TUI rating) of the Melia Tortuga Resort, in Sal, Cape Verde, and this is how we are treated. Ant infestations, cockroaches running around the restaurants, food poisoning, god awful food (including barely warmed re- heated chicken and almost raw eggs), rude staff who laugh in your face when you ask for their help, and are too busy staring at the under-age young lady guests (including my daughter) and too busy staring at their phones and playing really awful music at hugely loud volumes from their phones, full of rapping full of swearing and racist lyrics (very young kids were hearing this every day at the pool bar) and playing the music including calls and incoming messages via their phones on the loud speakers. Absolutely filthy accommodation that they try to blame on salt water (that doesn't cause the floors to be filthy), loads of someone's pubic hair all over the two bathrooms, dirty bedding etc. No edible actual food at the 'snack bar'. No actual food to purchase because the buffet restaurant food is mostly inedible. 5 days running we asked them to address the ant infection. They just hoovered a few of them up. That doesn't stop the dozens of them from still emerging from inside the bath panel. Gecko's in the room (although they are easy to evict) and absolutely nowhere to sit outside of you don't want to get engulfed in chain smokers stench, or burnt to a crisp (one of us has to be careful not to overdo expose to the sun because of medication). These are just SOME of the many reasons why this is nowhere near a 5 star hotel and is more like 1/2 stars. I have stayed in cleaner 2 stars with better food! We have checked the local hotels online and they DO have availability! This is your appalling excuse for a hotel. Please fix the problem, or take us to a neighbouring island hotel. We raised most of these issues on Day 1 and 6 days down the line we are no further forward! We STILL had ants and hundreds of mites every single day all over our family suite, and we STILL have a filthy hotel. Not one Member of staff was willing to actually do anything about it!Thanks TUI for ruining our first family (and anniversary) holiday in 2 years. Thanks Melia for lying about the 'superior' accommodation. We are devastated at wasting 2 years saving for our worst ever holiday.
Horrible Hotel! trashy guests without behaviour, most unpolite employees, old sucking furniture, mattress dirty and with bedbugs, cockroaches, poor little fan, room temperature above 30 degrees, balcony door does not close, safe does not work. Music from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. sanitary poor and old. Got sick back home all over with bedbug bites and less of sleep as the drunkyards where noising the whole night and slapping doors. No one cares.
I was due to stay at the hotel for 5 nights in April but due to a family bereavement I had to cancel the trip.I understand I had booked a non refundable rate but under the circumstances, I was hoping for some compassion from the hotel regarding a refund or Melia points. What made me it worse was that despite contacting the hotel twice explaining the situation, I never received a response which I feel was insensitive.I am pleased to say that my transfer company, Hoppa were amazing and offered a full credit for a future trip.
My wife and I went to Jardines Del Rey in Cuba,The food was absolutely disgusting, (which most people complained) it is unbelievable how a 5 star hotel can serve such revolting food, we were so happy to be back home and eat a descent meal, we basically survived on bread and cabbage all week, water was scarce, the bed sheets and towels were never changed all week. we will never go back to cuba again, stay away from Cuba.
It feels like we have been scammed and ripped off “estafas a clientes”Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora offered single family suites on their website. Instead it was two separate hotel rooms.Further it offered “luxury all inclusive”. But the hotel rooms are tired, old and shabby. The food and drinks are disgusting.Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora is mediocre at best, and the overall feeling is that I have been scammed with no offering of luxury.
Totally untrustworthy organisation. Recently spent a few days @ the Innside by Melia in Liverpool. Charged me twice! Once upon arrival and once when I checked out. The organisation is adamant this is correct!!
I have been trying to update my Melia awards profile ( does not work ) , to contact reservations by phone ( published phone number does not exist, to make a reservation ( the system returns with an error)Useless , in the sense that I did not success with any of the above. Ill change Hotel but I wander what will happen to my meli rewards points
Stayed at the Sol pelicanos in Benidorm 1st July 2024, now stayed here 10 years ago .Arrived and after waiting 40 mins in a queue at 2 pm we we were told room not ready . They had our mobile number and ring at 4 and to go away .Now 1st black mark . No phone call and back at 5 and waiting in another queue. We were given rm 111looking onto Ocas .Got up at 7 am went to bathroom to be greeted by 20/30 small cockroaches in the bath ( have photos ) . Tried phone didn't work .Was shown rm 418 . Phone again didn't work !!!.We had trouble with the house keeper when we asked for towels to be replaced and replied that because we are half board we needed to go to reception to request clean towels . Same house keeper would not replace bed sheets . So we demanded clean sheets .The lifts are terrible the worst I've ever experienced in my life .Breakfast is poor and the evening meal I lived mainly on salads or eat out .SNo tea and coffee making facilities in the room you have to get from in and out bar €5 The pool which should be A1 certainly isn't. Need to line up at 8.45 by the Fun Police which are way to OTT .Cracked tiles , dangerous floors , several people slipping . Sunbeds on last legs as well as parasols . Past the pool bar there is a smell of sewage stomach churning .With the pool being fresh water there is black algae growing on the grout . The pool grills underside encrusted in this black algae . The decor inside and outside the room is BAD . I own my own p and d company !Would I stay there again . Never !.
I just thought it was not fair to only see negative reviews, so I'll add some positive note to Melia rating. My husband and I have recently spent a week at Melia Alicante. Impeccaby clean, great staff, good food. We took "the Level", and we think that extra cost pays. You have a personalised attitude and you feel cared for at every single step. With a little surcharge, we got upgraded to a Sea View room upon arrival, and, the mot important, our room was ready at 9:30 am when we shoed up at the hotel! That practically offered us one more full day of vacation, after a sleepless night traveling. Many thanks to everyone who made our stay enjoyable.
Stay away from Melia if you can, it is a money-grabbing enterprise that offers very little value for your money. And do not be lured by those points - they are worthless. The billionair who owns it knows exactly how to empty your pocket and give very little back. I was tricked into booking a non-refundable rate with a promise of an upgrade on my birthday, which, what a surprise, never got fullfilled even though my birthday was during low season. The room in Marbella Banus was very tired and The Level offer was very poor. There are too many lovely hotels out there that would serve you better.
Unfortunately, Melia has no 24-hour goodwill policy when booking a “take it or die” tariff. Mistaken the date? No show. Marketing campaigns such as “Wonderweek” (03/24) are misleading customers. Melia collects 5% extra fees when checking out at the hotel. Forced collection of tips. Sinister methods. Hypocritically asking for feedback afterwards.
During Covid-19, Melia refuses to give refunds, despite their hotels being closed. They say they have to enforce their "terms and conditions,' which do not allow refunds. Well, sort of hard to enforce Ts and Cs when you cannot uphold your end of the contract and offer the hospitality services -- borders are closed as are your hotels.Best bet is to dispute the charge and have your credit card fight it out with them. Their customer service is useless.
Melia Alicante staff were rude, grumpy and not prepared to smile. Room was small and the balcony had one chair? When asked for another it took them 4 hours and 6 calls to bring. Paid more for this room than we should have according to their wonder week specials - certainly would not recommend not worth the money paid or aggravation such a pity as a marvelous view
Was in Benidorm Melia. Administrator girl was rude, charged me for late checkout and same day later returned money cause it was not true. No excuse, no explanation. Staff speaking poor English, terrible. Asked to prepare any breakfast in the morning as I left very early, at reception nobody were informed about that. Not nice ask many times simple things to do.

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
