Simply the worse customer services!I work in travel and for 3 months we have been trying to notify the hotel of a guests dietary requirements. They dont answer the phone or email. So I contacted Marriott Global, who told me to contact BonVoy and they are serious as much use as a chocolate teapot. Still no further forward. If trade has these issues, direct customers must have even more of a nightmare.
Marriott Bonvoy fraudulently offers you an e-gift card on signing that their hotels don’t honor considering their credit card has a $90 fee. Fraud by big corporations is stressful to deal with.
Was Silver Elite & stayed in Marriott exclusively until my points were erased. Spoke with customer support when setting up BONVOY for details which included 7 years before points would expire. In 2024, I was 3 nights from Gold Member. (Remember: Covid = no travel) Points taken to zero. Called support and told points exp in 3 years. No warning or email. No incentives through BONVOY Marriott
Needlessly complicated point system that their customer support people cannot even help you with (for APAC anyway); randomly cancelled a hotel booking and did not inform us, cancelled enrollment and did not inform us, when we asked to give feedback/make a complaint they sent some stupid simpering american to hardsell on spending more money to solve problems that shouldn't even EXIST for how much money was put into this SHAM of a ""company"" to begin with. While the staff themselves are perfectly nice, i have had better customer service booking/admin experiences at hole in the wall hostels. If i could give less than 0 stars, i would. Hospitality is a struggling sector! get off your fat american high horse; marriott is not that "premium' of an experience to justify the absolute grift going on here.
Took the precharge when we checked in. Now telling us it has been refunded while we never received anything. Having seen the different reviews around here I definitely know they do not respect their clients. So in short they scammed us by making us paying twice the amount of money it shoudl have cost, are lying about the said initiated refund, and are pretty unresponsive anyway when contacting them. Stay away.
Stayed at the Westin Beinjing Chaoyang. Awful experience, I have been chasing them now for over a week as my deposit was never refunded. The client service is not answering quickly. I had to send 3 emails after I requested a proof. I am now still chasing for a good amount of money to be refunded. This is absolutely unacceptable for a hotel of this standing.
Staying over ten nights in different Marriott locations, I expected my Bonvoy account to reflect those stays. Yet, I encountered nothing but frustration—no stays appeared on my account despite multiple calls to Marriott Bonvoy support. Each time, I was instructed to “wait 10 days for processing,” only to see no change.At the time of writing this review, I am staying at another Marriott hotel, and once again, I was told I’d have to wait 10 days for this stay to appear in my account. I’m not even asking about points; I am concerned that there is no record of my stay at all. In a last attempt, I called again and was asked to submit my receipts. This was after being assured multiple times that my stays would show up automatically. The manager I spoke with was dismissive and condescending, treating my valid concerns as if they were unimportant or irrational. It left me feeling disrespected and ignored as a frequent guest. So each time I stay in hotels, I have to wait for ten days and submit receipt online to get credit. How convenient!!!My experience has cast serious doubts on Marriott Bonvoy’s service reliability and commitment to its loyal guests.
I signed up for a Marriott Bonvoy Chase Credit Card. They state you earn points and a free night stay after charging and paying $2K. What they don't tell you is you have to wait 3-4 months after you pay your $2k to receive the promotion benefits!
I am a Titanium Elite Member I can’t get Marriotts services which were promised to Me when I signed up , since Covid Marriotts have cheapened their member services so trying to use online booking is impossible, as all the places you want to visit , dates are always booked up , trying to get online help is also impossible as well as timely responses to your email inquiry , by the time they respond you have else other alternative arrangements, this defeats the selling point benefit of using the members points for Vacation travel, we need a class action against this misadvertised program for which I spend $250,000 and would sell in a flash to recover my investment . Also it’s now become standard for them to say they have given you an upgraded room which is just a plain lie in my years of membership I can count on one hand the times a suite has been made available , my upgrade on a previous stay was the same as a ordinary room I booked for another member of my team . Shame on Marriotts , they have wondered far from their founding principles which is what attracted me to them in the first place .with over 60 nights stayed so far this year and more booked, I am a Terribly disappointed member , Marriotts if you are reading this please Reach out . Marriot is one of the most expensive hotel groups and the bonvoy app is probably one of the worst apps I have every used..Would not recommend marriot chain as hilton is much much better.I travel regularly and stay in the Fairfield inn & Suites in lethbridge and have to say at $200 to 350 a night when almost full is a joke. When across the street the Hampton inn is $187 a night. In a small town these prices are outraged.
I stay at Marriott/Bonvoy properties from 10-20 nights a year. Mostly for work plus 1-2 personal trips. Not a lot by business standards, but multiple thousands of dollars/year, which I would think would get some sort of loyalty benefit. Started a new job in New Jersey this year and my company requires that I use TravelPerk to book stays. I have used TravelPerk to book 3 trips to the Teaneck Marriott, plus 1 trip to the Tel Aviv Renaissance. I added my Bonvoy number to TravelPerk before the very first trip but have only received credit for ~50% of my stays. I have been going back and forth with TravelPerk, the Teaneck Marriott GM and Bonvoy for months and cannot get credit for the other nights. I always get a different reason - TravelPerk is not an accepted third party (with reference to a painful policy that leaves me confused), my Bonvoy number wasn’t on the original booking (which is not true), etc. I have spent probably 20+ hours and cannot get anywhere. To be fair, TravelPerk is not great either - they advertise that I get reward points for these stays - tried to solve it through them and got the same runaround. Will write a review about them as well. I should point out that I have had ZERO problems getting my points with United or other hotels through TravelPerk - Bonvoy seems to be the most difficult by far. Thousands of dollars have been spent and the hotels have gotten the revenue but somehow I only get the loyalty points about 50% of the time with a bunch of confusing and different reasons why, depending on who I talk to. In addition, the Bonvoy site hasn’t worked on Google Chrome for the last two months without clearing my cache, most Marriott properties are old and outdated (Denver, New Jersey, Brooklyn to be specific) relative to many of the newer chains (Kimpton, Hoxton), etc. Why would I want to go through all the trouble?!?! Am canceling my Bonvoy credit card and switching my stays to Hyatt.

Awful booking cancellation experience. Booking for a wedding guest room cancelled 10 minutes before driving to the venue with no explanation. Rang the booking "hotline" many options, finally got through. No reason given why the cancellation. Managed to re-book despite difficulty understanding the staff member who had a very poor grasp of English. Arrived at the St.Pierre hotel, Chepstow to find we had 2 bookings!!! Vert stressful. Web site, App and booking details poor, didn't highlight whether breakfast was included. Disappointed that a huge resort had no EVC charging facilities. Many unhappy wedding guests with similar reservation issues!
One of the worst program everI was Platinum in SPG and the program was fantastic: free breakfast, no problem in accrediting points, loyalty gifts etc...since it got acquired by Marriott, I literally hate this program. They removed all the perks (free breakfast,etc...) downgraded my platinum for life status to Gold, and they find all the possible excuses to reduce the amount of loyalty points... I'm just waiting once all the points I have will finish and then i will switch to Hyatt and Hilton... that are by far better program than this

Recently booked 4 rooms at one time and at the time of receiving my points for the stay , the credited me only for 3 rooms saying they only credit max of 3 rooms per booking , this is a scam, be aware of this when booking multiple rooms
I’ve had this loyalty app and scheme for a few years. I have just written to Marriott Bovey to cancel it, and to confirm to me that all my personal data has been deleted. It has been a waste of time. I always submit my account number, remind receptionists on checking in, but usually either (a) the points and stay do not show on the app, or (b) disappear soon after appearing
I have no issues with the properties. My issue is with the rewards program. After EVERY SINGLE stay, the stay "goes missing' from the app. Then I do not get the points or credits towards the night's stay. I am always chasing this down and have to report the missing stay 10 days after the stay. Wonder how many people this happens to, who do not regularly check if you were awarded the points and nights stay earned.
