lookupfare.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives lookupfare.com a medium-high trust score on the platform: 71.1. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Standard. Valid. Common.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 71.1 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to lookupfare.com's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Standard. Valid. Common. tags above. Long story short, this site's trust score still warrants a little caution. Use common sense when using this website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning lookupfare.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between lookupfare.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of lookupfare.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of lookupfare.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. lookupfare.com is a likely trustworthy website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether lookupfare.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether lookupfare.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, lookupfare.com.

“Don't LOOK UP!”
I just narrowly averted this scam. Air fare was too good to be true, but I booked anyway. What booking company waits more than 24 hours before sending you your ticket info and verification? So I looked up reviews, and THIS. Called the company, and an Indian woman answered and tried to act like it was just the way they do things. Today I called my credit card company and blocked payment, seeing in here how worse things could get. Don't do business with these people, they have no conscience.
“First time experience”
So I like everyone else checked reviews of the site beforehand. I work in hotels so the travel industry is at the heart of my core. That being said I am very and I mean very careful when I book anything. When I tell you that I saw a deal $500 cheaper than Virgin Atlantic's actual website I was skeptical. I went ahead and booked and it is legit. I've confirmed my booking with the airline and saved $500. I will seriously only ever book via lookupfare.com moving forward. I know that I am getting an amazing deal and the price cannot be beat. Please see screenshots of the prices below if you don't believe me. Service Value Quality
“Obvious Scammers”
These guys take your money as soon as you make a purchase and then send you an email saying that the reservation is "pending" and you should call. Then when you call, they lie and say that the prices changed while you were filling it out. The new price is (surprise!) much higher. When you try to cancel it, they try to charge you an insanely high cancellation fee. But what are you cancelling? If the prices changed, and no ticket can be bought, what is there to cancel? They also get extremely aggressive and try to force you to pay. A big thing to note is that they are using fake names and imagine people are too stupid to notice. This place should have been shut down ages ago. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Can I give them less than 1 star?!”
Nightmare. Endless calls, no resolution to ticketing/credit card charging issues. I regret we ever used these people. Save yourself the time and anxiety and either book directly with the airline (often just as cheap), or use a third party with a better reputation - which would be just about anybody. Tip for consumers:Don't. Service Value Quality
“One word description... Terrible!”
Trust me... unless you're willing to accept unplanned and unannounced itinerary changes, along with additional charges, ignore LookupFare now and forever. They jacked our travel group around by changing our itineraries without notifying us and then tacking on additional charges, saying the flight prices increased. Their customer service is as bad as the other reviews indicate. Not sure how they can continue to be in business. All I can do is warn others so they can avoid the travel nightmare mistake that my team had to endure. Tip for consumers:Trust me... Lookupfare is a scam business that should be avoided... period!
“STAY AWAY FROM THIS CHEATS”
I tried to book from lookupfare online a trip from Johannesburg to Nairobi charged at 394$ but nothing had been done. The confirmation email came in but there is nothing booked and the card was charged. It took me 3 days to call the airline company but they couldn't trace anything from my details I presented. I lost my money and no response after I called them on the phone. They just drop the phone and no one responds later. I had to break my travel home till now. Therefore I have no reservation to advice future clients not to be cheated again. They are going so good in technology and hold on search engines very fast. Please it is a SCAM. KEEP OFF.
“Scam”
Booked with them by mistake. After flight was cancelled requested money back. Took hours of phone calls, many falls promises. Finally after 8 months & threat of legal action, received some money back. They kept an exorbitant amount for service fee. WHAT SERVICE, I wonder. Tip for consumers:RUN Products used:airline ticket Service Value
“SCAM, SCAM, SCAM”
By all means if you booked either on accident or not with this company... BEWARE. In my case, typed in United Airlines in BING and the 1st site listed was United Airlines flight booking. Looked so legit, didn't hesitate to click. Booked my flight, received a confirmation on the site and via e-mail. That's when I noticed the email was from *******@lookupfare.net and not United. Curious, I did a reviews search on this company and was shocked that they are even allowed to be on a search engine. Long story short, booked travel for $313.20 and bank account was debited $511.20. After a few frantic calls, cancelled with lookupfare and called the fraud department at Chase. I'll keep you posted
“NEVER use this site.”
What a $#*! show this has been. When I originally tried to book a flight there where 5 seats left but of course someone bought the last seat just as I booked. I was told there where still seats in " Economy Plus" at a slightly higher fee, $30 for more leg room sounded good... Every seat on the plane was ECONOMY there was no upgrading. They site lists a 24/7 number to call but nobody answers or returns messages. They booked the wrong return date so I had to pay extra to the airline to change it even though I purchased travel insurance with my ticket. If I could leave zero stars I would. This site is a scam and I can't say enough bad things about them. Service Value Quality
“Should be 0 stars for scammers”
This website is a scam, the same man answered all 3 different numbers. If you truly wanted to prevent a scam than you should have called the number on file. Secondly no one sends a pic of a credit card through email. I don't care if it's just 4 numbers showing of credit card. That's not good business practice. I am glad I booked with another airline and averted your scam service. Now I don't feel safe with my card information. Praying I don't wake up and you take all my money. Service Value
“These are people are scammers. Do not use them!”
My travel buddy made the mistake of booking with lookupfare.com. When I received my copy of the confirmation I noticed my name was misspelled, missing one letter. My friend clearly spelled my name THREE times to the customer service agent who booked the tickets. I called them and was told that I may not be able to get on the plane since my ticket it does not match my identification. Since I did not contact them within 48 hours of the booking they would charge me an additional $200 fee to correct the misspelling even though it was their error! (I am certain they misspelled it intentionally). When my friend checked her credit card account, she discovered they had additionally added $400 in "fees" to the cost of the airline tickets. We are now disputing the "fees" with the credit card company. The airlines cannot help you, since they are a "third party" purchaser. After reading the other reviews, they do seem creative in their theft. Beware.
“THIS "COMPANY" IS A FRAUD”
This company is a fraud. Please save your money and headaches. I purchased an airline ticket and paid extra for a refundable ticket now they refuse to refund the price of ny ticket. FRAUD! I wish they had 0 stars. I hate to even give them one! Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“I was charged a $50 agent fee by them and given misinformation on luggage charges etc”
I thought I was booking a flight directly with United. Their computer info did not indicate an agency or any fee. They told me that if I didn't pay to check luggage I would not be allowed to board or be seated until ever other passenger was seated and then I would be seated in whatever seat was available They were aware that I was using a wheelchair! Rouge was their agent. This is a total scam and they should be put out of business! Sylvia H
“Don't use this service”
I accidently booked a flight through this site instead of directly through the airline. I now need to cancel for a medical reason (I purchased insurance through the site and also have a doctor's note). They don't seem to have any customer service! Their phone number does not work (it disconnects after about 30 seconds) and they don't respond to emails. To quote several other reviewers: "STAY AWAY"!
“STAY AWAY”
I was trying to book flights and they showed me specific flight. After I booked the flights, the status of the flights were pending. Customer service rep took over an hour to call me back saying the flight was all booked and he could only accommodate me on a different flight that was going to be a lot more expensive. I expressed my frustration with him letting me know that I was trying to book all day but I had questions and no one was getting back to me. Long story short this is a total SCAM! Please don't get trapped in this mess and ended up on the phone with guy named Justin apparently that was his name. Such a waste of time!
“Used Card Without Authorization”
My boss called Lookupfare while at the Toronto Airport this summer. She was seeking same-day flights from Toronto to NYC for herself and her family because Air Canada cancelled their flights and they needed to get home that day for medical reasons. The Lookupfare rep insisted upon getting a credit card number before even discussing flight availability. After my boss provided her credit number, the rep told her to go to a United gate where tickets would be waiting for the next flight. Totally false. There were no tickets and no seats available. Instead, Lookupfare purchased $1,900 of tickets for the following day and refused to refund them. Meanwhile, in order to get home that day as required, she had to get a car to Buffalo and purchase Delta tickets.
“NEVER USE LOOKUPFARE”
In July 2017 I booked a flight using Lookupfare. I received an email notification within a few minutes that said the booking was "Pending". I never received a follow-up email to notify me if the booking was complete or cancelled. The company rep said that they called my phone 3 x's, but the funny thing is there were never any messages so if they tried to call they didn't bother to leave a call back number. Fast forward to the one week out from my trip and I just discovered that the flight was never actually booked. So much for offering a low fare if you can't deliver! I will never use this website again and will spread the word not to use this website as they are very unreliable!
“Leaving Las Vegas / 3 Grandmothers Stranded because of this company!”
I booked this flight two months in advance. These ladies are stuck there because of this terrible company. Two more days before they can go home ( been there for two weeks) Would not pay for their room and this was their mistake! The flight got cancelled by the airline, they sent good old Robin an email and he forgot to mention this to his customers, these ladies, grandmothers. They do not care about these ladies who have medicine to take, and want to go home. I had to call the airline to get them home. I think this is extremely unprofessional and careless, especially in the pandemic were in its already a struggle everyday.
“Jordan Watson was AMAZING!”
My original flight was sold out but when I called to cancel, not only did Jordan find me a better flight on (what I consider a better airline than the original booking), he got me a better departure and arrival time with non stop service. I LOVE IT! Thank you so much Jordan! :)
“Even though I had a hard time at first, Vickie Simpson made the experience well worth it.”
If I had to choose a employee, I would hope there would be someone exactly like Vickie Simpson to choose from. What a polite, helpful gentleman. Super professional and seriously, they just don't come around that often like him. After hrs, he happened to be the one that answered my last call and made things a breeze and I say last call because there was simply not a thing left to do after he helped me. I hope he gets a big raise soon because he deserves it. Everyone was nice but Vickie excelled. Thank you Cheapflights
“Great prices and service”
I was very weary of booking my flights on this website as several other attempts at other sites were advertising cheap fares but when I booked they all were bait and switch fares. But I booked my flight for 2 passengers on Lookupfare and received a confirmation from the airlines in under 24 hours. I had saved over $600. I hadn't received seat assignments and tried calling the airlines directly and had over a 2 hour wait. So I called customer service at Lookupfare and was answered immediately! My seats were assigned immediately. I will definitely use this website again for future travel plans Products used:Airfare Service Value
“Customer Service couldn't be better”
I had a Complicated issue with my flight and it was all settled within a matter of hours on Sunday afternoon. I was extremely satisfied with the patience and help given me and changing my flights without penalty.
“A Great Experience!”
It was a nice experience booking with them. The agent was very polite and patient with all my queries. And not only did he get me a good deal, he made my reservation with my preferred airline as well. Service
“Awesome Deals!”
They got some great deals. I booked a ticket for my grandmother using their senior travel deals and must say I got the ticket at a really good price. Kudos to them! Service Value Quality
“Worked for me! But the hang up calls were stressful.”
Got worried that this might be a scam, but actually had a good experience. I booked two flights for my friend and I for March 2019 online last night and got an emailed confirmation. I immediately got two hang up phone calls from *******607. I then got a hang up call today from the same number this afternoon. I called their 24/7 customer support line from the confirmation email today at *******589 and the girl on the phone said that my tickets were being held and that they had been trying to call to get payment (when I had already paid online). She told me that someone would be calling within 30 minutes to verify payment. I got a call from *******176 after that. She verified the flights and the price from last night and the last 4 digits of my card. They charged my card and I got the e-ticket email this afternoon. I just put that into the airline website and they pulled my flights right up. I don't like that they called me yesterday and today for flights that I paid for yesterday and I am not sure what would have happened if I hadn't called them back, but this did work for me. The hang up calls were very stressful and my card was not charged and I did not get the e-ticket number until today, so that accounts for the 4 stars.

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
