letgo.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives letgo.com one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 83.6. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 83.6 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to letgo.com's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a secure website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning letgo.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between letgo.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of letgo.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of letgo.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. letgo.com is an authentic, safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether letgo.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether letgo.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, letgo.com.
Online Reviews of letgo.com

- Score: 3.3 stars
“Glitchy and slow. Almost unusable.”
The app was great when it came out but now its got server overload issues and so many OOPS messages refusing to load every time i open it. Sometimes takes 3 to 6 tries before i finally give up. They need to fix that or im removing the app. As you can see in my snap shot im on wifi and have data and no other app does this on my phone but this one.
“Youngsters play games with sellers.”
Not impressed how it works. Have had numerous "I'm interested" also asking where item is for sale. It's now apparent that 1% are truly interested. I now ask a question like "what one thing made you interested?". Adults came to see and played a bunch of games leading us on. I cannot recommend Let go.
“Let Go of letgo.com”
It's the worst. Authorities should shut them down. Not even sure what they're scam is, but it's definitely playing some game. Constant "I'm interested" replies resulting in absolutely no action. Don't waste your time.
“The Customer Service Team never responds!”
The Customer Service team is the most unresponsive team possible! I sent a message last Friday and their email says someone will respond in 24 hours. It has been 5 days! I would agree with what people are saying about the clientele that comes to purchase. I had someone express interest and then didn't respond to my messages for a whole week. When the buyer finally responded and I told her the item was already sold, she left a bogus review calling me shady. There are so many other selling apps out there and if you want to save some of your sanity, do not use letgo!
“Total rubbish. Avoid!”
I ended up spending over $200 for a pair of counterfeit Nike Jordan II shoes! The ad said they were new and completely legit but I could tell they were fakes soon after receiving. I'll only use trusted sites from now on. Tip for consumers:Avoid and look for sellers of authentic goods. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Worst app i have ever used!”
Nothing but bots and people that can't afford anything nice. Do not put anything of value on here, maybe some used shoes or a microwave but its trash. I think let go should just take their app down, it does more damage then good for people that are looking to sell
“Run by Skynet”
Full disclosure, I have sold 2 items on here. However, that was after lord knows how many bots asked me about it. My phone goes off so much because of this crap it just dies. Stop using bots you morons. All you're doing is creating an atmosphere where anyone can't be trusted. I mean seriously, who in your marketing department thought this was a viable business plan? Fire that person. Then fire yourselves.
“Letgo is a scam in my opinion”
Regularly get supposed interest from "interested" buyers who either go dark, don't respond, suddenly change their mind in 30 minutes, or mysteriously "bought another one" before you arrange a time to meet. These are all Bots for fake buyers Letgo manufacturers to make users think they have a chance with app. The AG's office should investigate.
“Waste of time/ Full of bots”
I am fed up with bots and people who want to get something for nothing. This is not a good site to sell nice items. First and foremost, Letgo should remove those quick response buttons especially the one that says I'm interested. Usually the people are far away so it means they don't even read the ad. Craig's list is much more user friendly in making connections. There are no worthless click on buttons. People have to know how to write. There are the usual suspects on any selling site but you just have to be careful. Only take cash, bank check or money order. Meet at a public place.
“Worst experience selling”
Let go is the worst platform to sell. Nothing but scams! Poorest website and people trying to beat you with everything you can think of! Too much haggling. Everyone thinks that you are selling fake counterfeit items. I will not recommend this
“There system constantly crashes.”
They really need to get their act together. Site freezes in mid sentence when trying to communicate. After almost an hour it came back for under 2 mins. Then froze. They are second rate to offer up and 5 miles. This company seems to be laden with issues
“Love it”
I've made so much money by selling things I no longer need on letgo. Sure you get people asking if the item is still available and when you say yes, they never respond. So what? I'm glad letgo came around, a lot better than CL.
“The quality of the general experience is s reflection of the character of its users.”
This app is one of the easiest straight forward wide scale peer to peer barter system. No fees, credit cards, ect ect. Enjoy it while its still free and easy because things like this dont stay free for long. Whoever came up with this thank you. I met a friend named vern on here. Funny story...
“Wish could give -5 rating difficult contact customer service and received no response from letco. Do”
Had problem with seller who misrepresented item, used fake name, then blocked me doing could not contact them. After 90 minutes try every possible option I found way contact let go by reporting bug in system but got no acknowledgement or response from let go. I plan contact my state consumer protection agency
“Complete waste of time”
Hate Letgo. Only ever got "Is this still available"? No response when I reply. The only real person wanted me to drive a $15 dollar item to his house 30 minutes away. They randomly remove postings. I sell better on Craigslist.
“Unbelievably Rude People”
Don't even bother. We only had one person out of 30 that got off their lazy butts and showed up. I took off work because they told me when they would be at my house. Never again. I've actually made purchases on this app and I'm not a rude jerk so I showed up to pick it up. God forbid anyone has any class or consideration. Trash app with trashy people.
“B. S.”
Don't get fooled by the catchy commercials. This is the worst way to sell something. I would've had better luck at the bus stop. 1000 questions and not one serious buyer. Full of junk too. Seller Beware
“Nothing but a bunch of time wasters and broke-asses.”
How anyone sells anything for more than $5.00 on this app is beyond me. Literally everything I posted got nothing but ridiculous low-ball offers or people just asking me what my lowest price is without even making an offer. Most of the times the ones who say they're going to commit to buy turn out to be fake or scammers anyways. Complete waste of time.
“Worst selling site ever”
Might as well put garbage in here cause people want everything for free or wanna haggle all prices. Ive posted items that are worth 500 or better at half price and people have the nerve to offer half of half. Next time Ill post my trash or just stop using this site period.
“Frustrating like many reviews on here”
Constantly getting automated "I'm interested" responses without any serious buyers. I feel like I'm already running in circles with this platform. There must be a more efficient way this site can run things.
“Mixed blessings”
When good people make good deals its great. Too often, 7 outta 10, are no shows or keep you waiting for hours to do something generous for them. Really rude. A little money is great. If I charged by the hour waiting on people... It would be So Much More.
“Letgo has a long way to go...”
There are ample reviews describing the numerous technical problems with this app. Top complaint is receiving pings around the clock, primarily from letgo and not buyers. As a seller I can say it's a complete waste of time. 95% of buyers use the auto reply, followed by "hit the wrong button". People have the audacity to request delivery on free items. Edit an ad and it will likely be flagged as a duplicate listing and deleted. Craigslist is far more efficient. If you use this app, only accept cash.
“Agree with all 1 stars, this is a scam waste of time”
My experience mirrored 95% of the negative responses on her, almost verbatim. They're all accurate reviews. I myself got 2 responses from users that were suspicious. One who asked if "the item" (a whole set of dishes) was in good condition - the condition was already listed in the very beginning of the description. The other one asked about a single figurine - "you want $20 for all?". I'm like, "all of what, there's only one item." Crickets. Clearly these are bots or scammers, there are no legit buyers. Don't waste your time, move on to something else.
“Don't waste your time”
Every post you will get trash calling you. I posted a hitch for a customer of mine that wanted it removed from her house, it was in really good condition so instead of destroying it I put it on letgo to see if someone could use it. Some hillbilly finally shows up and asks my employees to load it for him. I specified he would need help and he showed up with his crusty girlfriend. Same experience today I held some couches for some guy, he shows up 2 1/2 hours late and does not take the couches. Both items were free. It's not worth being nice just throw your used stuff out and let these pigs dig it out of the dump
“Very cheap users- almost everyone wanted to negotiate”
I had tons of inquiries and was very excited about the initial response, but almost everyone wanted to know if I would negotiate. I put a lot of consideration into pricing, and listed most furniture pieces at $29- including a kitchen set with 4 'arching chairs in very good condition. I also posted a solid oak rocking chair, maple end tables, a brass floor lamp I paid $159 for. I thought $29 was fair. Most offers were for $15. I guess the ads leave people to believe we are desperate to sell. Rather disappointing

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
