jcrew.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives jcrew.com the absolute highest trust score on the platform: 100. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Safe. Secure. . We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this very high score? We came up with the 100 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to jcrew.com's industry. The algorithm detected no high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Safe. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we label this website as secure and trustworthy. We explain this in more detail below.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning jcrew.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between jcrew.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of jcrew.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of jcrew.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. jcrew.com is a secure website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether jcrew.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether jcrew.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, jcrew.com.

I do not know what is currently going on with JCREW Customer Service and OnLine orders. I returned two pair of shoes using their return label. They received the orders yet never issued the exchange, never refunded my account for items not received and never communicated with me. I call to inquire and they decide to generate an online gift card for me to place a new order when I was guaranteed the order was on its way. I was firm and communicated I wanted a full refund while they persisted in giving me the run around. Oversees agents were useless. Domestic agents were not any better. I had to beg to speak to a Supervisor. Supervisor assured me she would over see every step of the refund and communicate with me. NEVER DID. I will NEVER shop from JCREW again. I have been a client for 38 years. Buyer Beware!!!! Strange "get screwed" practices not typical of the previous company
I bought a long sleeve cashmere crew this past winter and it pills like crazy! For $120+ dollars I would have expected a higher ply and quality which this is not. I have purchased cashmere at a lower price point that is of much higher quality. Cautionary tale - look around and consider other companies when buying cashmere. Frankly, this is an overpriced cheap product for which I am regretful to have bought. Buyer beware!
I returned my entire order (300+$), and I was refunded about 150$.The support replied to my request that if I do not return the entire order a fee of 53$ is charged, but they will make an exception and refund those 53$.Their reply is wrong on several levels, because I DID return the entire order (as my E-Mail's first line said).Over 100$ are still missing. Their return fee already is hilarious, and that they are unable to process returns brings this on an entirely new level. Conclusion: After three parial refunds, which I had fought for at customer care, I was finally refunded the entire amount.
Ordered a hoodie and received a bikini top. Upon contacting them, their response was to hand me a two-hour errand three days before Christmas (pack up their stuff and drive it to UPS, then drive to the mall to find a different Christmas present). They also wanted to charge me again in order to ship the hoodie I'd actually ordered, which is so ludicrous it's actually hilarious. J.Crew has turned into a raging dumpster fire, which is super unfortunate because I've been a loyal customer for over a decade. Never again.
My experience with J. Crew has been mixed. Returns: The Riverhead, New York location makes it incredibly difficult to return items for the original purchase price even with the original credit card company receipt.Their reasoning is “we can’t find it in our System” and will offer the sale of the day refund ( about 1/2 the original cost). So be sure to save your original register receipt. Aggravating! Who needs to play these games?Value: Even with a sale J. Crew in my opinion is overpriced.Fortunately there are a lot of retailers selling the same type and class of products as J. Crew with a much more liberal return policy.
Generally love the quality of J. Crew's items. Occasionally an older version was a better quality but overall, very happy. The sizing is good, too, true to size. I really appreciate the ease of online ordering and having items delivered to a store. I live abroad, so that's the easiest option for me. I also love the ease of either returning or exchanging items bought online, just drop into the nearest store. Never have had a problem. And I love that they ship to Europe :)
I have been shoping J Crew for 20 years now and they still remain fresh, classic and pulled together. I will shop with them the rest of my life.
J Crew's return policy speaks to their quality, if you wash a garment they will not allow you to return, regardless of flaw. I bought several button down shirts, one has a button hole that isn't completed. After washing once, before wearing, it is unravelling. Another shirt's collar isn't sewn completely, midway the stitching stops. Both issues speak to Quality Control as well as J Crew's attempt to make a buck by selling poor quality, poorly made clothing. Shame on J Crew!
I sent an item for return that was received by them (per UPS tracking) on 12/5/23 and I still have not received my refund. I have emailed multiple times and each time it's a different version saying that they are "working" on the return and I will receive an email when it's processed. There is no proactive communication from them regarding the situation. I have asked for a check to be sent to me instead of a credit to my original form of payment, but they seemed to have ignored that request.
I forgot to add something to my order and contacted J Crew within 15 minutes of placing the order to request the addition. I was told it was already being processed and could not be altered and neither could it be canceled. Within 15 minutes! Wow that's efficiency that's so good its actually a problem. The weblink says "Cancel/Change." What is the point of this link if neither is possible? They used to have such good customer service. After 40 years as a consistent shopper it may be time to retire this relationship. Customer service used to be their best selling point.
Bought an item which did not fit, shipping cost around 10€, decided to return it. Returning an item (shipping back) cost 60€, could not know that because they count returning cost after they received item back. Crazy. Never been in such situation, allways returned items internationally for 5-10€. Not recommended. Avoid jcrew if buying internationally. Lost 70€ with them.
This is the craziest experience I’ve had with an online return for any company. I ordered a sweater and received a random pair of pants. Now I have to go through the process to return something I did not order wait for my money to come back to then re order what I wanted? Well now it won’t even come on time. I received the wrong size from another store called quince. They promptly shipped the correct item to me with expedited shipping and told me to donate or gift the larger sized item. THAT IS HOW CUSTOMER SERVICE SHOULD GO. Especially at the prices Jcrew charges!! I won’t be ordering from here ever again.
+20 year loyal JCrew customer no more. Bought Xmas gifts during Thanksgiving weekend. Tried to return, with receipt and tags attached today and was refused a refund or exchange because the purchase was beyond 30 days (isn’t that generally true of all Christmas gifts?) and the “holiday return policy ended..... we are still in January! Further, the manager at Avalon Alpharetta GA was so unbelievably condescending. Never again JCrew.... and goodbye retail! Why can’t everything be as easy as Amazon??
I am furious with J.Crew Return process. A few months ago an order took 10 days to get to me and then I was only allowed a short time to return. For a different return, most recently I returned two sweaters but I have only been credited with one!!!! So $179 is not getting returned ugh! When I called customer service they just answer blankly and are totally unhelpful.
I had a problem with my online order and addressed this with the store manager Song-Song in San Francisco when I [picked up another order. She not only handled it with great courtesy but also solved the issue in my best interest, well done. I will tell all my friends about this pleasant experience. J Crew is an awesome brand but such exceptional service puts the brand on top of my shopping list. Thank you! Christian
I am beyond frustrated with J Crew and J Crew Factory. They both persist in returning items to my shopping cart, even though I've removed them myself. Next time I check, sure enough the deleted item is right back in my cart. If I click on 'Remove', chances are that the unwanted item will be put into the 'Save for Later' box - even though I didn't select that option. Consequently I have to watch my shopping cart like a hawk every time I go to order something, just in case an item I've removed has been slipped back into the cart by J Crew.
Wish I could rate J. Crew better, because I love their styles. However, I am very frustrated by their return policies, especially when it comes to sales. Currently, they have a great sale going on for Memorial Day, but I cannot buy anything because all sales are Final Sale and cannot be returned. These are items that are current merchandise, but are on a holiday promotion. This is so frustrating because there are no stores near me and it is impossible to gauge sizing, fit, or even quality online. Other stores I shop at regularly do not have such a policy. J. Crew - please allow those of us who shop online to return items when they are on sale!
I placed a large order and received a confirmation. Later in the day, I checked the order status on the website and it said the order was canceled! I called. The customer service agent priced the items at about six times higher than was confirmed, then read me a statement that said that because of “pricing discrepancies” they canceled the order. When I found the items are still available on their website, I was told they wouldn’t honor the price they committed to in the order. They didn’t notify me until I called them.
Separately bought two items. One showed up as the wrong size, style, and color than what I ordered; completely different. The other item UPS claims they couldn't find my address, yet I've never had any other problems receiving packages. Have yet to receive any refunds.
I received my package promptly and got some regular updates on where my parcel was.The only issue is that my parcel came opened, I believe the tape wasn’t strong enough. Somehow nothing was missing so I guess I got lucky.

“Won't honor a confirmed order”

I placed a large order. The order was confirmed. When I checked the website to see when the order would arrive, it said order "canceled". They did not notify me. When I got a customer service agent on the phone, he read me a prepared statement saying there were "discount discrepancies" and they would not honor them or send my order. No other explanation. All the items I tried to order are still available at a much higher price. Service Value Quality

“Don't shop here!”

I ordered a cashmere sweater for my brother in late November. Because of medical issues,, he didn't open his holiday package until January. It came in the wrong color and style. He tried to return it or exchange it but the hers said it was too late. He sent it back to me and I also tried to return or exchange it. Again they said it was too late. Is this company failing? Who runs this awful company? It used to be a decent store but now I wouldn't waste my time on these creeps. They sure don't know anything about customer satisfaction!

“No confirmed order is a confirmed order”

I place 3 times the same order. First time I placed it online and got a confirmation and 24 hours later I got a cancellation email. The remaining two times I placed the order over the phone and was assured it will not get cancelled but it did until I called again. Guess what it again got cancelled. How can you run an online store this way? I finally walked into their outlet mall and ordered another product but since my size was not in store they shipped it. This time I got the order with security censor so again I had to go back to the store to get it removed. Horrible experience both in store and online.

“Not return friendly”

I just purchased over $350 worth of merchandise on JCrew.com. I needed to return 1 item, a belt and they charged me $7 to return the item. I purchased from many stores over the holiday and even the less expensive stores returned items for free. They just lost a customer.

“Quality in the past and present”

JCrew used to sell good quality clothing but it changed a couple of years ago. Cashmere sweaters used to cost $180 but its all worth it, they have the best colors compared to other brands and it last for a long time. But after that couple of years, yes the price is lower but the quality is poor. 2 cashmerE sweaters from them after hand washing shrunk. The "merino" they sell is so thin not worth the price. Products used:free shipping is only for jcrew cardholders. refund policy is if final sale no refund. i am not the kind of person who buy and then return no matter how many they are. so i stop buying as 2 of the cashmere sweaters i bought shrunk. Value Quality

“Blue jeans do not fit.”

I bought 2 duplicate jeans that were the same size and style I already had. They were so big I could not keep them up without tightening my belt where the material folded over. They were a straight leg w34/32 and fit like they were at least a w36. What's happening in Bangladeshi? Very disappointed in a blue Jean company that I thought was better. Products used:Blue jeans Value Shipping Quality

“Beautiful Clothing and Accessories”

I've ordered shoes and boots from them and they've arrived thoughtfully packaged, it's a gift to unwrap them! The clothing is well designed and beautifully made, I'm so glad to have discovered JCrew! Products used:Shoes jewelry sweater blouses Value Shipping Quality

“Poor service”

I placed an order 10 days ago. Today, 5 days before Christmas, they cancelled my order leaving me with no present fro my daughter. No wonder they had to file for bankruptcy Tip for consumers:Don’t expect to get your order Products used:None Order was cancelled Shipping

“No refund”

Almost month after i returned the item I still didn't receive the refund. Holding money for no reason. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Guaranteed Quality”

The quality of all their products is guaranteed to be always best, it never disappoints in that region. Cool new collection with good price.

“Won't order online ever again quality sucks”

Their quality has way downhill and sizes got weird. Plus they closed most stores so if u order online and need to return they charge 7.50. Unacceptable! Tip for consumers:Return fee is BS Products used:None Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Wrong items delivered”

I ordered a t shirt and a pants and got a dress instead and customer service keep telling that the item was already delivered… Bad service to order online and low quality clothing. This was my first online order. Not recommended Tip for consumers:Bad quality Products used:Shorts that was send wrong Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Disappointed, will not be purchasing online again.”

Three separate times I have ordered a pair of New Balance sneakers and all three times the shipping date was pushed back over several weeks and then canceled. I can understand this happening one time. They were in stock two of the times and this still occurred. I will be ordering from another company hear on out. Customer service was polite, but absolutely nothing was done. Oops, sorry is not enough. Sorry, J. Crew moving on.

“No regard for their customers or the planet”

I ordered 2 robes which were not cheap. When they arrived I expected there to be some quality to them based on the price. They were incredibly thin, cheaply made, ill-fitting, way too small and not at all true to size. I tried returning them, and J-crew made me return them separately so they could charge me two return shipping fees (even though they were shipped to me in one package). Then they charged a restock fee on top? When the sizes advertised were not even close to accurate. This is irresponsible and there is apparently no regard for the planet. Why insist on needless packing materials, postage, etc? Just to make an extra few bucks off your customers instead of serving their needs. Pathetic. Tip for consumers:Terrible quality Products used:Clothes Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Worst customer service experience!”

I bought a lot of things with a coupon code. The coupon code didn't work, even though it said it did until it processed my payment. So shady! I called them within minutes and told them what happened. They assured me I would be returned the money. That was 2 weeks ago! I keep calling and they say because I used Applepay it takes longer to process the refund. I wonder how much longer it is going to to take for them to give me my money back.

“Quality is abysmal, and J Crew does not stand behind their merchandise”

I ordered a T-shirt with three buttons on the front on 1/30/20. Since then, I've worn it about 8 times. Two of the three buttons have cracked into pieces and fallen off recently when I was simply fastening them. Clearly the buttons are of very poor quality. I wrote to J Crew - and they responded that since it's been more than 30 days since the purchase, they aren't responsible. Really? If buttons were to break into pieces after 31 days, J Crew considers that acceptable? Sad, as J Crew used to be a respectable company. Service Value Returns Quality

“Bogus Return Policy”

JCrew misleads customers with a "30 day return policy." When you order online, it's really more like a week (JCrew subtracts the time it takes them and their shippers to send the package, send the return, and then process the return) Direct quote from customer service: "it takes up to two weeks for the return to be completed and the policy indicates that returns need to be processed and received within the 30 day window"... shady practice, I would avoid doing business with this company.

“Poor customer service”

J Crew service and customer s service has deteriorated. I am a customer for over 10; years. I live in Philadelphia and cannot visit store, closed recently. I have bought on line very often and sometimes had to exchange the item in store with no problem and friendly, professional employees. Now on line purchases are paid via Comenity Bank. I have only experienced unfriendly service when calling to pay my balance. I could not complete my payment on line due to a " glitch" as Comenity/JCREW communicated on line, so no choice. I need to rethink buying at JCREW bc I don't like condescending, patronizing, rude customer service. Tip for consumers:Ask for identification of representative. Products used:Sweatshirt, Tshirt.. Service Value Shipping Quality

“Consistently Inconsistent”

Ugh J. C. do you hate women? I can call you J. C. As we have known each other for over 20 years. You were the place to shop for cool weddings and warm wool coats and beautiful suits. But now look at you, you traded quality for quantity. A lot of ill fitting, poorly made pieces. I can order the same style of pants in 3 colors and none will fit the same. You make dresses and shirts and jeans that could not possibly be made to fit the human form. You should have stayed in your lane. You were better than that at one time. I'm sorry but I just can't anymore. Goodbye.

“Terrible quality and poor customer service”

I was on the phone for one hour to return something and they never could manage to help me do it. The quality is poor and now they buy from third party manufacturers and will not let you return them to j crew site when you have NO idea that they are not a part of J crew They will soon go chapter 11

“Terrible in customer service”

TERRIBLE company in customer service. I wish there is zero or minus rating. I hope the company stops this non-sense policy of "final sale". All other big retailers do not have this policy. The store manager was very rude and refused to return a defective merchandise that worth $24. I hope this $24 will save the company from its financial trouble. Shame on them. I have been a customer for almost 15 years.

“Great styles but awful return policies and fees”

Love J. Crew styles, but quality has declined over the years. On top of that, the facts that they charge for returns, almost all sale items are final sale, and sizing is inconsistent are causing me to stop shopping here. If their were more stores where I could try items on and return things, I would much more inclined to purchase from J. Crew.

“Too difficult to return anything”

Jcrew makes it virtually impossible to return. There's only one Jcrew store left in Colorado, can't return merchandise from a regular Jcrew store to an outlet and they charge you 7.50 to return by mail using their prepaid slip. Horrible company, quality has declined and they aren't what they used to be. Not impressed. Seems like they're on their way out. Products used:Wanted to return all of them, but had to pay to return and merchandise not accepted at factory stores from regular Jcrew website. Only 1 Jcrew store left in Colorado. Quality is poor, this store is not what it once was. Disappointed.

“Falsified Billing”

I paid for an item in full but they opened up a credit card in my name and started sending me late fees. The item itself had to be returned four times before they got it right. When I tried to discuss with the bank who runs JCREW credit cards, Miss Fitzgerald, she was too uppity to be of any assistance and didn't make an effort to redact the unjustified late fees. They have bullied and harassed me over a measley forty dollars, Do not under any circumstances do business with this company. Tip for consumers:Don't. Products used:saucony shoes Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Great!”

I can find a huge variety of clothing on J. Crew. The sizing chart is very helpful and it is accurate. Shipping time is quick and the quality of the clothes are great! Highly recommend!

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

* Your personal LinkedIn profile and the business's social media accounts (e.g., Facebook).

* If available, proof of satisfied customers (e.g., screenshots, not just testimonials on your website), evidence of inventory, or records of handling order cancellations properly.

We’re more than willing to update your review based on the evidence you provide—the more proof, the higher your trust score. Please note, however, that we cannot verify non-operational websites or those redirected to other URLs. Additionally, we do not verify websites involved in high-risk financial services, gambling, adult content, or illegal activities.

If you own jcrew.com, we’d love to hear from you. If you'd like to challenge the trust score we’ve assigned, we’re happy to take a closer look. However, please be prepared to provide solid proof of your business's legitimacy. Introduce yourself with your name (not just "Admin").
