ionity.eu Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives ionity.eu a pretty low trust score on the platform: 15. It signals that the business could be defined by the following tags: Controversial. High-Risk. Unsafe.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this low score? We came up with the 15 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to ionity.eu's industry. The algorithm flagged its seemingly suspicious success, even with a newly registered domain. It also detected high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Controversial. High-Risk. Unsafe. tags above. Long story short, we recommend staying away from this website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning ionity.eu, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between ionity.eu and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of ionity.eu. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of ionity.eu, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. ionity.eu is a suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether ionity.eu has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether ionity.eu boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, ionity.eu.

Absolutely terrible service. Expensive and I still cannot get a receipt from them despite trying their link and emailing them about 20 times. I was charged over 50 quid for not even a full charge.Nike from their customer service just sends back the same template each time.
Chargers are always broken. They take an untold amount of money out well over the actual rate and do not give it back. It is day light robbery. I tried to use the charger, it was broken and still charged me £40.
Expensive! More than double the rate we normally pay, fairly easy to use, we downloaded the app. Cost us £25 for 120 miles 78pkw unless we wanted to sign up to their passport with a charge of £7 a month. We usually pay 38pkw, won’t use again!
We used the charging station in Stafford for our first long trip in our new car. Much messing about between husband and I and we got the car charged. Then discovered they’d taken £55 from my card and £40 from husband’s. This was on 25th May. My husband was refunded a week later. So I emailed them, then two weeks later emailed them again, then I called them, then I called them again and asked to speak to a manager, apparently there is no escalation process. My last call was on 29th June, still waiting for a response and no £40 refund. This is the worst business I have had to deal with, total crooks
2 separate charges and days of chasing for the receipts. The App acknowledges the charges and both charges have been debited from the bank however the webpage for receipts tells me no charges have taken place and the resend email button tells me that the receipts have been emailed but none arrive in to the inbox, junk box. Annoying to say the least.
Awful company. They preauthorise £40 multiple times to try and charge. Then keep sending invoices with payment demands as their systems fail. Just avoid using them to charge if you possibly can.
Cobham Avoid avoid avoid Two payments taken. The customer service is currently at 35 mins in and counting with no proof of life. £80 down. This company is making the case for not having an EV all on its own. There must some sort of consumer protection against this sort of criminal activity. Being charged twice, Cobham services also at fault for enabling and supporting this sort of scam.
absolute shambles of a company. took 40 euro fromy my account as a deposit. I have no problem with this however I have phoned 3 times and sent 3 emails. wss told i would have the balance back in 15 days...then another person told me 15 working days and finally today 25 days... these guys havent a clue...avoid at all costs...Their Trustpilot score says it all really.
The instructions on the charger are very unclear - you need to authorise a €40 charge before you connect the charger cable to the car. This wasn't clear on the instructions and I connected then authorised via the QR code. The charging then didn't start and the cable got locked to my car. I had to call the helpline to disconnect it. They made me lock and unlock my car "five to seven times" which didn't work, and they then unlocked it remotely. I then had to restart, and authorise ANOTHER €40. The agent couldn't say when the pre-authorisation would be removed, only that it would take "a few days". The rates are far from cheap at over 73c per unit which would be accepteble on the occasional time I need to use these chargers, but the process is abysmal.
Avoid Ionity chargers at all costs. We’ve had 5 failed charges in less than a week. Each time, they take a pre-authorisation charge of €40 which does not get reversed, meaning that as the charges mounted up, we ended up with over £170 stopped from our bank account. I contacted Ionity to ask them to reverse the charges, only to be told it can take up to 31 days and there’s nothing they can do to speed up the process. In contrast, when we’ve had failed charges with Total, they reverse the fee within less than an hour, so you’re not out of pocket.
This company is totally broken. Telephone staff are very polite but the back room is beyond a joke. The web site is and App is a nightmare. Don't ever sign up for their PASSPORT membership it's a mare. Effective communication to cancel this service seems impossible AVOID IONITY...............
I went to the Chippenham chargers and only 3 of the 6 were working, very poor. I was lucky that someone was leaving as I turned up. My car had heated the batteries prior to arriving so I should have got a fairly decent charge rate, Ionity claim 350KW with my Hyundai, the max was 93KW. I have tried using their network twice at Chippenham and Magor and both experiences on charging rates have been poor. Do not believe the advertising as the high speed charging rates are not achievable.
They are just beautiful charging stations, but they are still awful, unreliable, and a waste of my precious time. I spent about 1 hour at two charging stations, switching between them to find one that works. I looked like a crazy person because those using the working stations were wondering why the others didn't work or if they knew about it. I have used many networks, including Fasted, Tesla, and more in different countries. The pricing of this company is good, but the way they deduct money is neither fair nor good. They should deduct 10 euros, not 40 euros, and they need to understand that if it fails, someone in urgent need will have to do it again. So, at 3 chargers, it deducted 120 euros. I know it should be refunded, but after so many days? Ok, look at other charging stations, even some with no name are working better than this. They need to improve many things, including the technology they use for different brands of cars. For some, the charging session starts fast; for others, it is so tricky. I am here if you need consultation: Maheri HighTech Network. My experiences were in the Netherlands and Germany. To all: Before traveling to charging stations, install and review the apps to avoid being stranded and wasting valuable time. It can be any charging station, not only this one. The only nominee before this was the Total EV charging stations in Paris!
Used it in Austria, very expensive without monthly contracts, no amenities, no toilet, no shelter or roof over chargers and sometimes queues. If we will have other options we will use them, but other charges are more less same - charging you humongous price per MINUTE no matter how fast you are charging. EV charging is chaos and ripoff, it has to be regulated.
Run away, run out of power on the motorway and live under a flyover for the rest of your life, because this is preferable to using an Ionity charger.Appalling, tried for 30 mins at Cullompton Services, upload at least 2 card details in the attempt, phoned their help desk, all useless. Two other people there were also very angry by the terrible system Ionity have. You have to use their QR codes to upload the app and false QR codes have been hijacked by fraudsters. What is wrong with these charging companies? The only one who has it right is Gridserve, you park your car, plug in and tap your card on the screen, when you're done, tap it again and on your way.
Ionity are some of the worse charging points available and would avoid. So difficult to set up, you need to download apps, insert all your details, approve in bank and the layout of the website is shocking and so hard to use . It took me 30min before I could even start charging.
Cambridge Services. I should have known not to try to charge as everyone was moving from one unit to another. Downloaded app, used contactless, plugged in, NOTHING, got error message. Disconnected and tried twice more. RUBBISH. Ended up charging on Gridserve and it was 21p/kw cheaper!
First, the chargers don't take contactless payments, which is annoying. They do offer a QR code to scan to pay online, so I tried this, twice, and despite it taking all my details nothing happened. A fellow driver said only the app works, so I installed that - it sent me an email to confirm my registration, but the link in it gave a 404 error when clicked. At least the email had a code in it I could use instead. Finally, after 15 minutes faffing around it eventually started charging.
A lot of chargers are not working or do not accept cards thst should work (plugsurfin). Helpdesk is not adequate in delivering a solution. Typical for the EV market at this moment. Over promising, underdelivering.Especially in the south of france there are too many faulty chargers.
Used Ionity at Glasgow (Polmadie) and Perth during a recent trip to Scotland. Experience was excellent in both cases - with plug and charge enabled (via Electroverse), you literally just plug in the car and it works. Brilliant, low-stress charging at the end of some really long journeys when you definitely don't want any hassle.

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
