I wish I could say that I will never use anything related to InMusic ever again. Nothing about working with this company is easy. Need to reset your password? Good luck. Just received a gifted MPC? Better hope it's not registered elsewhere, or you may as well use it as an oversized paperweight. Everyone at InMusic needs to consider their customer service. I changed my password, and saved it, and I still can't log in to see a service ticket I submitted about-you guessed it- a separate issue. I hope this company figures out its BS.
So, while the AKAI hardware is great, the way InMusic Software Center works is, unfortunately, a bad joke. After changing my PC, I basically have to beg them to reset my licenses before I can use the device again. It's been a really bad experience
I've known this for awhile so I finally get a chance to put it in writing: inMusic (ooh what a catchy brand name ??)..."inMusic is where software goes to die". Case in point - The AIR Music Technologies Suite of VIs has absolutely died there. Transfuser in particular from that Suite was an awesome Virtual Instrument - way ahead of it's time. It met it's final demise when AIR sold out to inMusic (to be fair AIR Music hadn't done much to upgrade it in years so they found the official "Dustbin" of their industry - inMUSIC....Now sadly, BFD3 from FXpansion was sold off to inMUSIC and it appears to be headed down the same path.
An Absolute Disaster – Akai and inMusic Are Failing Their CustomersI’ve never experienced a more infuriating, borderline fraudulent service than what Akai and inMusic have put me through. I purchased the “Sub Factory” sound bank directly from my MPC, trusted the process, and paid £80 – but guess what? No download link, no product, no confirmation email, absolutely NOTHING. It’s as if they took my money and disappeared.I reached out through their “support” channels, and the silence is deafening. No response to my ticket, no one addressing the issue, and no sign of a refund. This is unacceptable for a brand claiming to serve music professionals. They’ve left me with no product, no help, and no explanation, and I’ve had to escalate this with my bank just to get my money back.Their website and payment system feel sketchy, like a trap set to snatch up your cash without actually delivering the goods. Akai and inMusic need to seriously reevaluate their customer service, or they’ll lose every loyal customer they’ve got. Save yourself the trouble – don’t buy plugins or sound banks from Akai unless you enjoy throwing your money into a black hole.
terrible, the customer service is CRAP, I've been blacklisted (which is totally forbidden in E.U. so my lawyer is working on that) of the desk support after I told them my deep thoughts (4 contacts, 4 "not possible" -on things that are ACTUALLY possible- as an answer). Now I need to de-register my stuff in order to sell them (don't want any of their stuff in my studio, now), but absolutely 0 answer Watching how to sue them. Appalling company solely interested in selling new boxes. Zero service available for kit out of warranty, no tried and tested service agents they can recommend...and no parts held anyway. Just a sick joke of another equity owned company interested purely in it's own profit and paying the directors and share holders.Go with any of the brands with Music Tribe instead...at least they offer a semblance of a level of customer service.
I've been trying to get customer service as my speaker will not charge. I did have a brief email exchange but messages are taking weeks between responses. As of recent I am not getting any responses.
Have got mpc x in for repair organised kindly by retailer who have been excellent (gear 4 music). Item had some broken buttons now was told the part is was back order which would take 8 weeks. Fine but they then sent the wrong part to the repair and am still waiting to resolve this issue more than 3 months down the line. Essentially waiting for the correct sized piece of plastic. Wow.
I contacted the dealer about a issue involving my M-Audio 1X1 uno sport. A tech called me, and never returned my call. I then got on the chat line and was turned away 5 times for help. they kept canceling my tickets for some reason. I am very disappointed with this company. Horrible experience. Lost a lot of money. Soundswitch is killing the entire inMusic brand.The crew at Soundswitch promised me to enable the 3 month hardware unlock subscription for 6 months now.They keep charging my account and every single month they reply "oh sorry, it should be fixed now. Please enable auto-renewel of your subscription".After being ripped of 6 months in a row I'm going to blow up my Controle One and record it for youtube views. This makes me sick.
Customer service was on point with first repair. I put another ticket in for a new repair after getting it back and I keep getting the same automated messages, to reply to an email I replied to several times. All of a sudden there is no more live follow up. My warranty is almost up and I'm sure they will leave me with a garage product, as they did with my dj partner as well. Also, I had the rane12s mk1 and had to get new ones, as those where hardly used and the motors were messed up and never stayed synced.. the list of problems goes on.. unfortunately if they don't help me get it resolved in time, I'm going to sell/ trade that out and WILL NEVER buy a rane product again. I will definitely advocate to not buy there products anymore as well (Atleast rane).Also to note: there is no actual person to chat with over the phone, and any number u call will tell you to refer to directions online to raise a ticket, where at that point, who knows when you'll get a response. Have purchased several pieces of equipment under the inMusic umbrella from Denon DJ equipment to Alessis speakers to Akai MPC, Keys and Force along with half a dozen or so other brands in the same market. I’ve only had to make one or two warranty support claims on any but my experience trying to deal with inMusic brands has been deplorable. Taking over a week to even return a support ticket because you the owner had to chase them down with a follow up email is unprofessional.When you do get a response it’s just blatant deflection and a lack of taking ownership for poor customer service and poor product materials.Nothing gets resolved after they have your money and as a result we’ve shifted our studio away from InMusic brands entirely. Their products and support are just not dependable or reliable to get any resolution on anything.In fact even now I have a ticket ( that I again had to resubmit as the first one went unanswered for two weeks ) out that is still unresolved and it’s gone into the second month now. That’s unacceptable.If you can find a way to use inMusic brands with the canned support response of “Thank you for your patience and understaning.” then you’ll be happy otherwise look to other brands in the same space that actually support their customers.
