I had several times that ING retains transfers made to my account without notifying me. As we speak they are preventing me from receiving my salary that I receive monthly. My account is always in plus, and I make no fuss or weird stuff, it is just pure incompetence (or fraud?) from their side.They never seem to discover that they are effectively stealing my money themselves, I have to go through all the formal hugely obscure steps to contact them and sort it out myself. I wonder if I have missed any transfers that I am unaware of and which they simply kept.I would not recommend them. At all.
In my opinion, they have kept as the most trustable bank in Spain. While other banks' service has been getting worse, and commissions/scams rise up, ING is the one keeping a bit of ethical behavior with their users.Good thing that I left Caixabank for them!
I started banking with ING in 2008, for the low comissions, and unbeatable broker rates. My definition of a good bank or insurance company, is a company I don't have to talk to, or care about. Lately I talk to ING too often, or rather I talk to a machine or try to get an operator at the phone. 9+ months to fix a broker transfer. Very high fees. Very difficult time contacting them or getting an answer. Now Im actively looking for a quality low cost bank. This bank isnt any longer.
The Spanish app version of ING should have a feature to change in the menu to the English language.Otherwise the app and Banking experience will be rubbish.. Especially when your account is blocked for no reason....expat living in Spain..
So many bad comments, but I can only say great things about ING. Never had a problem with them, every time I need to reach customer support, they are kind and fast. Recently, I suffered a phishing attempt and they were able to block my account before I was taken any money. I'm super grateful. They were responsive and quickly helped to fix the issue. I couldn't access my salary account via the app of ING all of a sudden and despite all the updates done it still showed a black screen or it did not charge. It's the millionth time this horrible app does this, you have to install from zero and activate the mobile validation and security passwords all over again. A shame for its users, it is a terrible app, the worst of all banks I ever had, the engineers working on it must have some serious intelligence issues not to be able to fix this disaster that's been going on since the beginning. Shame InG Spain shame!
I changed to Ing.es some years back. I left the Spanish banking system (La Caixa) as they gave poor service and were expensive. Everybody says, "Oh the banks they're all the same"; they are not! I like Ing and have always been treated with professionalism, efficiency, easy access and kindness. On the phone, on the web, in the branch office in Valencia... I guess it is not easy to offer good service in the banking sector these days with all the changes, security issues, people who don't understand the technology etc. But, for my money, Ing.es fits the bill. Well done ING!
Is ING an Internet Bank? but you can not contact them by mail... they can send you messages and emails but you can not reply to them (even using their app) Frustrating! They blocked my account because they were asking for a doc that they already have... they never apologized. I will NEVER recommend this "bank"
OK so ING are (a) a bank, (b) an internet bank - their customer service was never going to be great. What is REALLY terrible is that... they don't make up for it by being efficient. They're incredibly slow at sending documents, cards, responses, ie EVERYTHING you need to live your life. ---Need to do something other than check a balance? The site will time out over and over again---Want to contact them? Forget it. Even if you wait long enough on hold to get through, they will 'transfer you to another department', ie hang up.---Actually get to speak to someone? They can't help you, it's not their department. They WILL explain lots of other things you don't want to know, though!---Completely unable to access your own money?Your only option is to go to their 'Support' area and browse the irrelevant questions. Awful.
Worst banking experience ever. Everything easy in another bank is ultra-complicated at ing. You can't access your money and the process to get it is painful
Terrible customer service, they don't help at all when you reach someone. It's been one month they blocked my account asking me for a document which I sent already 3 times and my account is still blocked, no one is able to help me ! It's incredible, and all of this for 58 euros. They block me for 58 euros. They first gave me the wrong email address by the way.

All of a sudden credit card transactions are getting rejected! days after I have no access to Credit card details anymore, I thought it's okay I'm not worth one I can live with that! Days after I tried to deposit cash in my account and I got that error saying technical issues happens all the time with ING so went to other ATM, same error! not surprised!! almost all the time ING ATMs either out of service or can't perform some basic functions. Went to the bank with 3 different ATMs and same issue, After talking to bank employee (After 1 hour of waiting!!) turned out that my account is blocked! because my wife (Who have same access level to my account) didn't update her identification information (even though she did 2 months ago) employee couldn't help due to data protection law! my wife called the bank and turned out they FORGOT to look into her submitted documentation 2 months ago and they said "sorry we will activate it in 24 hours"! half day waste of time because of a bank operates as a kiosk, it's literally el banco no banco!!! that's apart of the frustration of getting my CC rejected randomly (even before all that happens) and all they can do send new card! their system is full of bugs and issues, even given errors worth nothing as they are super generic!! The employee was nice though but all that waste of time due to their incompetent! it takes a 2 sentence Email to inform your clients if there is something wrong with their accounts (Even though it's your mistake as usual) but 0 respect of your clients' time!! I'm starting to think of changing my bank!!
Website takes AGES to load. If you look at your account details over 3 months, put in your passcode, answer your mobile for a PIN. Its security excess. I'd rather an online bank do one extra for simple operations. Why not ask me for a finger print from the phone like errrr... paypal.They have faceless, nameless customer support staff who avoid telling you who they are, where they are based and department. They cover their own errors, shift the blame on you and don't admit to errors. They love telling you and speaking to you like a child without provocation. So, it's advice you can't trust. Speak with one, it's one story, another - another. As you don't know WHO you spoke to it's hard to say who did what. I regret joining this bank, worst customer experience ever. On February 16th, I got scammed by a swindler who tricked me into transferring 2000€ to his ING account in Spain. He is impersonating a company that doesn't belong to him, and he managed to open a corporate account at ING under this company name. I acquired proof that this was a fake, and lodged a complaint to the police. I sent the complaint along with the evidence to my bank, who transferred it to ING in Spain, but ING refused to help.There are two major issues here:1. ING Spain isn't thorough with identity checks when they open a new corporate account. Apparently, anyone can pretend to be the owner of a company and ING will operate your account and facilitate the fraud, allowing you to illegally collect money from your victims.2. ING Spain doesn't take responsibility for their mistakes and refused to help me, without giving any explanation. For all I know, the swindler is still using his ING account to this day, stealing money from innocent people. You're reading this, and you might be next.I strongly encourage anyone to denounce ING's lack of professionalism. Alfonso Tolcheff Vaca de Osma, head of ING in Spain, should start by solving this major issue before trying to develop his business and proudly displaying his name on the internet.I intend to begin judicial proceedings in Spain and with the European Union Commission in order to force ING to comply with their ethical and professional obligations. In the meantime, you should stay away from this bank.
ING Spain is a terrible bank. Well, for 5 years they have been OK actually, but just last month they started to block all my incoming transfers from other European countries, for no apparent reason. They are asking for justifications to unblock them (even for a 10 Euro transfer). I am self employed and many of my clients are in other EU countries and pay me by transfer. Card payments I process via STRIPE and while ING has accepted probably 100 STRIPE transfers over the past 2 years, they decided to block the 101st. No reason or justification given. Just like that. All they do is send a nondescript email asking you to provide some justifications for a transfer that was blocked. But the email contains no information whatsoever about the transfer so you need to call them (phone queues, etc. you get the gist). Also, I am not sure how I can provide a justification for a client paying me as I do my income declarations at the end of the quarter. But just on principle, I do not see why I should have to do any declaration to my bank at all. It's not that I am receiving 6-digit transfers. Usually it's in the 3 digits. Their behaviour is simply outrageous and I am pretty sure illegal. It also goes against EU regulations regarding the free flow of capital and the SEPA regulations. They basically wihtold the money (probably playing with it on the stock market) before eventually releasing it. To me this is criminal behaviour so I have already filed a complaint with their ombudsman but have not had a reply. If it stays like this I will need to file a complaint with the Bank of Spain. I also went to the local branch where I was told that I should consider changing banks. Unbelievable. These guys suck! Stay away!

Then I found myself in an unsettling period of radio silence.After a couple of days, I decided to contact their Support Team, only to be "informed" (in the most unprofessional way) that the outcome was unfavorable, stating that I was the one "providing my bank details to the commerce." (Because of, you know... fraudsters!) I was astonished by the lack of qualification among the customer service agents. Throughout the ordeal, I noted that only a single agent exhibited a solid graps of the companys policies and procedures. The remaining representatives seemed unfamiliar with even the basics of the organization they represented. These inconsistencies made me lose my confidence in ING's ability to address such a delicate issue.In addition, the email address provided on their website for submitting the police report was incorrect!Comparing my experience with what I've seen on other online banks, it's evident that there are institutions that surpass ING in terms of customer care, security and fraud prevention. It's disheartening to realize that this company falls extremely short regarding the importance of safeguarding their account-holders against phishing and fraud.Last but not least, I must say that the mobile app is terrible. It's user interface is confusing, navigation is sluggish, and its overall functionality is simply disappointing. It's disconcerting to witness such a promising bank fall short of its potential, especially in matters as critical as security and customer satisfaction.
