complete scam job. they bill you double and tell you "we couldnt read your transponder". Funny, it worked in the morning when I drove through but when I crawled through in rush hour traffic it didnt work. Same car, it was not moved and is mounted properly.You also cannot go home and see if it even did work on your account because tolls dont post for 10 days! So by that point, you have already racked up tons of fines and you cant do anything about it because they wont help you even if you call.If a company worked like this they would be sued and put out of business but since its the toilet named Illinois there isnt anything you can do. Guess BJ fat slob governor wasted too much money and needs to steal more.Just one more reason everyone is leaving Illinois.

The credit card readers are poorly maintained and unable to read many different cards. I also watched cars reversing when they were stuck behind someone whose card wasn’t working. My brother tried 3 different cards and finally my card worked, as people reversed dangerously behind us to get into the oversized vehicle’s lane-yet people in smaller cars then ours were using the oversized vehicles lane. It was 1 hour faster on google maps to take the toll road. But each toll booth took 15-20 minutes to get through because everyone got stuck behind someone having trouble with the card readers!! So, we would have saved time and about $25 if we had stayed off the toll road. NEVER waist your time and money!!! Use the toll roads no matter what google maps say!!!

They steal and sell your information. Absolutely despicable, you cannot pay the tolls without creating an account. The maggots that run this company would feel shame if they were capable of such complex human emotions.

We were stopped on the side of the road with a flat tire for two hours waiting for triple A. A tollway road service worker, Anthony pulled off and jumped to help us. He was immediately working to fix our tire. He was super nice, professional and helpful. Our tire was fixed within 15 minutes, overall great service.

Just today paid another toll fee violation that was not mine! I have not traveled on their roads for yrs because I had this problem one time before.. now yrs later, get violation and big fee In the mail.. I paid because it will cost me more to dispute it than if I just pay it... I am not impressed... also they make it hard to dispute or contact them!

After spending lots of time submitting endless details, including, where did I meet my wife, country of origin, address etc etc etc. all accepted BUT when you get to submit telephone number at last,IT DOES NOT ACCEPT A FOREIGN TELEPHONE NUMBER !!! Pay by plate is accepted for tourists, but what good does that do when you cannot create an account ???!! So you are left at the mercy of the rental car company, they sure know how to triple charge for something that should be easy. What a welcome to Illinois.

Literally running a scam i got a bill for $81.55 in tolls and $105.00 in "Invoicing Fees" so a total of 186.55. How are the fee"s gonna cost more than the actual tolls? When i reached out to speak with a supervisor to get this issue resolved they said there are no supervisors. Just so unprofessional and terrible business practices. Would give them 0 stars if possible.

Using the Illinois tollways used to be very convenient because you could pay at the end of your trip using the auto trip calculator as long as you did it within a 14 day window. However, the current system has everyone, including out of state guests to pay by setting up a 'pay-by-plate' account or have I-Pass/EZ-Pass. Very inconsiderate. If I mailed a check in I still have to use the trip calculator to determine correct amount, so why did they remove the option to pay from it?? It can take 30 days for Illinois tollways to process transactions. What is the reason for making it harder on the customers?

The roads are not kept up. The toll collection system is a rip off. our company has a valid credit card on file. We have long haul semis, so we are gone most of the time. We noticed we had some statements that had outrageous fines. We disputed one of the invoices and paid the rest. We were lied to about our dispute on more than one occasion. When I called in to get 2 needed documents, Minerva told me our dispute found us not liable, so the documents were not needed for both Indiana plates. I called later to confirm and see if I still needed those two documents, and Janice told me that our dispute was never received. I found out later, both of these statements were lies to not supply the documents and have bigger fines.

I asked to have an in-person hearing on the phone and through a written letter. They sent a final letter to pay triple each violation and I never got my in-person hearing. I'm upset because i should not have to pay all those fees due to their system not being able to generate the 1st tolls so I can pay them. They generate after the $20 ifees have been added. Plus, I have an Ipass account. This is crazy! From $290 to $870. I can not afford it! They are ripoffs!!! I give them a negative -1000 ! Terrible money thieves! I need to find an attorney to help me sue them. I have many other people who are dealing with the same thing. Criminals!

Worst site ever. Cannot edit any vehicle information. The menu simply takes you around in loops to no avail. When we moved from Illinois to Indiana 2 years ago, we registered both our vehicle plates as well as our license numbers. Now 2 years later we need to change a plate number and customer service rep on phone tells me he can't do it unless I can give him the last 4 digits of my Illinois license!?!? What? I haven't had a that license for 2 years now. So what happened to all the info we gave them 2 years ago? Not sure where to go to resolve this now, we will try the Jewel store customer service.

Absolute garbage! I am not from Illinois and just flew out of Chicago. In Indiana we receive notice of our tolls without a $41 “invoice fee” which is ridiculous for $18 worth of tolls.

I saw no signage about 14-day requirement to pay. Took them 45 days to invoice me with more in fees than tolls were. I had no idea how it worked, but then that is their whole point, to gouge travelers from out of state.

Zero stars if I could. Illinois is very proud of their crumbled crowded pot-hole “under construction” confusing chaotic roadways and can’t even be bothered to set up an actual toll booth or provide signage explaining what a person is to do to get a toll paid. Not one sign anywhere, not even on the website, stating how much the toll costs. No reasonable warning that we were approaching a toll road- we were simply following the gps. We drove a rental car and do not know what our license plate number was. We lost track of how many toll signs we drove under- there are so many- we didn’t change roads. No clue how many bills we will be getting. First time to Chicago will be our last. What a way to “welcome” tourists! I can’t imagine how much more confusing this would be for a person who doesn’t read English. I have not one positive word to say regarding Illinois toll roads. You should be ashamed of your greedy selves. I said what I said. Side note: Found an unexplained charge on my credit card that I can only assume is from Illinois Tollway. No explanation. No description. No way of knowing if more are coming. Illinois Tollway, you are highway robbers in the most literal sense possible.

My recent interaction with the Illinois Tollway left me greatly disappointed. Despite multiple attempts, I couldn't reach their customer service by phone. Furthermore, the fees are unreasonably high and lack transparency.

I was moving, and went around the tolls, maybe going through 1 if I remember correctly,thinking it wont be that bad its just 1. I'm used to stopping and paying. I did not know there were signs to distract me and read on how many days I had to pay a toll. I didn't mind receiving a notice since it was just 1 toll. NOT, I received a notice with, 7, yes 7 tolls all within in 15 minutes of each other!! I would have realized that, now I owe like $95!! I feel like this is an easy way for them to make a ton of money!! The last time I drove toll roads, you stopped and paid!! That's how long it's been. It crazy what they are getting away with!!

Terrible company. Awful website, it gives really hard time to login, make payment, etc. Its clearly that they want 14 days to pass and you will be charged much more than the toll

BSchiller here....After my trip I went online and created a pay by plate account. I paid the bill that showed up and when I saw itdebited out of my account I closed the Toll account. Then a week later I received emails stating I still had a$ 1.90 balance. For all the time I have spent trying to pay this I should be paid by you and as in $100's of dollars of my time! When I logged back on my account there's a tab to add new payment information as the account was showing in "Pending Close" and due to this you could not edit the information. I called for support and was told by one lady, she would delete my email and phone and that I could log in after 15 min. I did, and tried all day...unable to complete the process. I tried just to create a new account but due to it showing my email and phone the system would not let me...I have made 4 phone calls to fix this. Now multiple accounts and its been a waste of my time. Period, the systems sucks!!! it shouldn't be this hard. And...seeing other comments I agree the roads stink! YOU need to use the Toll money to correct your website to be user friendly online and fix the darn roads...you can sit on this one toll now...which I was told that if its one Ill never hear about it!

Today I received an invoice from the illinois tollway for $127.75.This includes: $49.75 (unpaid tolls) $78.00 invoice fee(s)Total amount due - $127.75I have an iPass. The email address was incorrect as I switched from iPhone to android in Dec '22. They have my phone number, but didnt think to call to give me a heads up. Instead they waited until after the 14 day grace period so they can add these extra fees... then they mailed me an invoice. Because my CC was compromised, the bank issued a new card. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they chuckled as they told me it will be 24 hours before they get bac to me.BREACH OF TRUST - I NO LONGER TRUST THE GHETTO STATE OF ILLINOIS.They will do anything they feel like whenever they feel like it as they are now FLAT OUT TAKING ADVANDAGE IN ANY WAY THEY CAN. BEST ADVICE - HURRY UP AND GET THE "F" OUT OF THIS GHETTO STATE. They are trying to steal our money instead of making us feel warm and fuzzy inside. My Q: Why not contact me sooner giving me the heads up that something is wrong, so I can immediately address the problem?Answer: much more money when they wait until after the 14 day period has expired. This amounts to ZERO TRUST on my behalf to the entire ghetto system. Conpletely rigged system.
