Is hscwarranty.com Legit?

After being assured that there would be no problem in finding techs to fix problems, my air conditioner issue went unresolved. HSC was completely uncaring and unreliable. Don't waste your time or your money. I've tried several home warranty companies, and this is the worst yet.

Good Luck Getting Paid!!!I'd give a zero star if possible....as a service provider, we have been trying to get paid since November, 2023. We have submitted no less than 20 attempts and get the run around. Impossible to get a human who can assist. What a scam. Contractors BEWARE!!

Its now september; this began in may. home service club still won't replace freezer, even though two of their technicians said freezer is shot. And now home service won't even return phone calls. we are forced to get a lawyer and report to better business bureau and california dept of insurance. What are we to think? what can we do? we are now facing an organization that appears to be in scam mode. we hope this reaches people thinking of joining home service club.

Water Heater broke 2/13, took them 3 days to get some to look at it, dragged their feet another week before coming back saying they needed more pictures only to deny the claim due to rust. The water heater ruptured & you waited 8 days to response, what did you think was going to happen, it magically disappear?Never, Never, Never use this company!

I called HSC regarding a leaking hot water heater. No plumbers responded to HSC’s network so I hired a plumber who reported to the claim department that the water heater was leaking and needed replacing. Water heaters die due to leaking after a period of time, but the claim was denied due to RUST AND CORROSION. Remember that term. It’s buried in the contract you sign, but don’t see until after signing up. The important coverage details are purposely left out on the home web page. DON’T BUY A CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY!

The Home Service Club say I that evaporator coil is physically damaged and leaking due to rust and/or erosion and is installed with incorrect freon pressure, which are all exclusions of coverage under the home warranty. Base on information obtained for this claim, the unit did not enter the policy in proper working condition. This makes no since. They keep hanging up on me when I call and won't let you talk to management.

Wish I could give them negative stars. Bunch of crooks. Don’t know how I fell for them. Absolutely ridiculous service. I already put in a cancellation as of today. They deducted whatever they paid me from my remaining refund. Any time you put in a request, it takes days and then send someone who is not experienced at all. And then deny your claim. This is their process. They claim best on their website for many years. B.S. Absolutely absurd.

Terrible company. It has been 2 months and I still can't get my faucet fixed. Plumber comes and collect his service fee (literally a 5 min visit to take some pictures) and then will not return to complete the job as he says HSC will not agree to the submitted estimate. Who is at fault the plumber or the warranty company? Neither will take responsibility and leaves me the customer without a working faucet. Supposedly they will give a pro-rated refund if a contract is cancelled. I do not put much hope they will follow through on that promise. The only thing HSC is good at is sales and marketing.

1st claim for dishwasher. Their rep says that they have an internal formula that is not part of their contract that allows them to deny paying ANY cost for my replacement unit. Since the value of my dishwasher is zero they are offering me a courtesy credit of $100 if I purchase from Lowe's which happens to be most expensive brands... So I paid over $600 and just moved into my very first home to get ripped off in a whole new way from these people. Yeah they are somehow claiming to be honoring their contract.

Company does NOT pay contractors. Do not work for Choice, Home Service Club, Home Warranty of America or their new company name Rely Home. They gave my company authorization to make a repair for $765 but only paid $165 on the invoice. When I inquired they closed my contractor account and placed payments for all outstanding invoices on hold for 180 days. It has now been over a year and they say the policy is 365 days before they will escalate my payment request and 6-12 months before a possible resolution. This company scams homeowners out of money for contracts and contractors out of HARD earned money. I have paid out for technicians labor and parts to perform services for them that I will likely never be paid for. We are talking thousands of dollars.

This company is not a scam but has terrible customer service. I have had a broken HVAC since 10 days but with no resolution or even an indication what the next steps are. I have called every day twice and I keep getting told that the “proper department” is looking at it and they will call me back. At this point the senior management should look into it before enough consumers join for a class action against it for risks they are exposing children’s and elderly to in summer months with these delays.

Mothers looking for value for money better trust the repair of their household appliances to Home Service. Don’t hesitate to avail of their services. My mother is very shy to ask for help because she fancies herself as a strong independent woman. But from time to time, she does entrust her house with the Home Service Club especially with electrical work.

They are con artists that will do everything in their power to not cover anything listed in your contract. Not to mention it takes them weeks to assign a technician to your home, their reimbursement option doesn't make sense, and their policies yield no results other than making you pay full price with no coverage.

The airconditioner in my mom's house has been acting so crazy. We couldn't increase the temperature, so we've been freezing for days! We called HSC when we realized things weren't going to get better, and luckily they were able to send a contractor quick. Luckily, this was included in our HSC home coverage. I've learned its both efficient and practical to avail of this company's services.

Absolutely the WORST warranty company. Beware they will never repair your appliance. They checked my refrigerator after a service request callm and said this particular issue is not covered. So I end up losing $95. I have put an A/C service complaint and 3 weeks now nobody has shown up, even after more than 25 calls and I have given up.Their call center is a joke with 30 mins wait time and then you are cut off. you leave call back number and no body calls back.Please do not waste your money with this SCAM warranty company. They just take your money and literally cover nothing when time comes for repairs.

They underwrite Choice Home Warranty in California. Both Home Service Club and Choice are scams. I requested service for covered item. They did not find a provider and emailed that I could find one and that they would reimburse minuse the service fee. Lies,scam, and thief's. Thr provider provided some info saying he did not work for these crooks. Claim denied within 5 minutes. Of course appeal was no better. In California Choice is licensed by Home Service Club. Scammers——-Do Not Buy ——- This will be referred to Attorney General's office in California. See Arizona Class Action Suit against Choice. Scammers and bullies. I will not tolerate this manipulation. I paid 875.00 for the service and 1700 for a multi year plan for nothing. What’s up Home Service Club and Choice Home warranty??? Business model- Promise a lot, and deny coverage as much as possible. Truly reprehensible!

I am a real customer, with HSC policies on THREE different properties, based on these reviews. These reviews must be fake or bot generated. Customer Service agents are customer facing, answer the phone but know nothing and have to 'contact the proper department'. 5 of my 6 issues were not covered (sink faucets, shower valves, slow draining sink's) . Once you file a claim on-line, there is no way to check status on-line without calling in, to those same polite but unhelpful agents. NOTE that the $65 call out fee is for diagnostics, even if your issue isn't covered. The work won't be done the day the technician finally arrives, but instead will be scheduled later, and only if Home Warranty Club approves the claim.(1675) 281400(2712) 281402(24) 281405

THE QUESTION IS: IF A WARRANTY COMPANY DOES NOT HAVE TECHNICIANS TO DO THE REPAIRS, HOW DOES THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA ALLOW THEM TO BE LICENSED IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. THESE COMPANIES CHARGE CUSTOMERS THEIR MONTHLY FEE BUT, WHEN IT COMES TO REPAIRS, THEY ACT AS IF THEY DON'T KNOW YOU, AND THEY KNOW THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO ANSWER TO ANY AUTHORITIES. I FILED WITH THE CALIFORNIA INSURANCE COMMISSIONER, THIS OFFICE IS JUST A NAME, THEY DON'T HAVE ANY AUTHORITY OVER SCAMMERS LIKE THESE WARRANTY COMPANIES.

Typical insurance company: first response is to immediately deny claim, even when clearly listed as covered in policy details. $95 deductible for every service call, then a denial of coverage - absolute garbage customer service. This is my third time trying to get HSC to cover repairs, and each time I have to go back & forth just to make them honor the policy. I’m sure some people have had good results with them, but I find it extremely sketchy that the overwhelming majority of “5 star” reviews are from people who have only written one review... and it’s for HSC - okay yeah, not suspicious at all...

After spending a good week reviewing multiple home warranty plans with several companies and being lied to, I mentioned to the HSC Warranty sales rep that I was quite concerned with the dishonesty and wasting of my time with these other companies who are quick to make false promises to get a sale. The HSC Warranty sales rep assured me this would not be the case, but it actually was the case. I realized after reading the plan, he blatantly lied to me. I made several attempts to complain to his supervisor and the president of the company. Crickets. This company is operating in an unethical manner and doesn't seem to want to make it right. Buyer beware and read the fine print in the plan.
