We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this low score? We came up with the 18.7 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to hsbc.ae's industry. The algorithm detected high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the New. Suspicious. Dubious. tags above. Long story short, we recommend staying away from this website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning hsbc.ae, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between hsbc.ae and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of hsbc.ae. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of hsbc.ae, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. hsbc.ae is a suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether hsbc.ae has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether hsbc.ae boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check

The worst customer service ever. Can not solve the problem. My card was blocked, i provided documents to unblock it but it took them 3 working days to just reply that it is not enough. While i had all my money blocked and i was calling and kindly asking to unblock it.,Also few months ago the card was blocked cause i deposited big amount from ATM. After sitting in the branch for like 2 hours i told the guy to do something and got response “are you asking or demanding? If you are demanding it might take more than a week” . After this reply i started crying what scared him i guess and he started to move. After the money got unblocked i received the call from the bank another 2 times to explain the origin of money, even i gave full explanation in the branch and he wrote it down.
The worst banking service ever. I had a fraudulent transaction on my credit card and I reported the bank a minute later that it was a fraudulent transaction please block the transaction or reverse the money. But I saw no action was taken regarding the issue, also we reached the branch office but the customer service experience was too bad. They don’t simply bother what has happened. I think the bank itself is involved in these types of fraudulent transaction and they really don’t care about their customers. They simply harass their customers. Worst worst worst!!#hsbcuae fraud banking service
It took me almost an hour at the Jumeriah Branch to get cash from the teller. Not too many customers waiting but their speed is just so slow and inefficient.HSBC should get rid of the waiting times they show on the screen - 6 minutes with 2 customers ahead of me and it actually took 55 minutes. Why show these unrealistic waiting times when the speed of their teller service is painfully slow.
They just decline your CC application without enough reasons why, even if you have met all the criteria posted on their website. Even how their agents and CSR are not good in communicating, always sounding condescending. I regret opening an account with HSBC UAE and will definitely close it after 6 months. The whole process was a waste of time and effort. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Worst ever card, worst ever customer care service, NEVER TAKE HSBC Card….Horrible experience
If I could give no stars I would. This bank has the worst customer service I ever encountered. All it is, is a call centre of people who say they will escalate your query to the 'relevant' department and someone will call you back but NOBODY CALLS YOU BACK. I made a bank transfer to my landlord with my rent but the bank are holding it as apparently they are waiting for further information from me but nobody will tell me what information they need and I cannot get to speak to anyone and nobody will call me back so I am simply in limbo. They are literally holding my money ransom.
I am premier customer in HSBC in 4 countries and so my family more than 30 years, and every things going smoothly with bank during these years except last 3 weeks when i want to used my account and find soft guard as restricted account and I understand that bank wants to protect his customers, but when I emailed them they asked for documents and I send what they requested against asked more documents 3 times like this as they are dealing with creminal customer not premier. After all this headache they released .And i suppose to sell my apartment in Sharjah and transfer money to bank this week. But now i decided to withdraw all my money and stop dealing with HSBC in Dubai all because of unprofessionality of soft guard team and delay and in response from premier team.ThanksRegards,Dr Alsaeedi
Had my credit card used by fraudulent ppl. According to the bank we had authorized it through an OTP which we never got and it was through Apple Pay, which we don’t have being Android users. To make matters worse the card transactions had exceeded the allowed amount for the credit card and the bank DID NOT ONCE THINK SOMETHING WAS ABNORMAL AND STOP THE TRANSACTIONS
I am new with HSBC. Its very hard to understand why the HSBC call centre not reachable. After 40mins waiting I connected to call centre agent he acted like he can not hear me . Call agent attitude is like he is boss and I am just nobody. The sale agent calling every days to take the credit card. But bank service is less than zero.
Absolutely appalling service. Been resident in UAE for 16 years and this is by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I have a simple query with my account, spoke to at least a dozen customer advisors , sent numerous emails and still no further forward! They promise call backs which never happen and give automated responses to emails. It is almost impossible to speak to anyone in authority within HSBC. AVOID this bank!
Been a resident of UAE since 20 years, and never once we had such a bad experience like when dealt with the HSBC Customer Care services today, over the phone. Made us hold the line for more than 40 minutes without anyone answering it. And it's not the 1st time we are experiencing such an issue with HSBC! Pathetic service!!!
This is not only the worst bank service I have received but the worst service in general in any category. Absolutely insane how bad they are. They block cash receivables, put no effort into helping their customers and just make your life really hard. Do not open an account with them.
Oh wow! Of all the banks, in all the countries we’ve had accounts HSBC is the most antiquated, incompetent and infuriating bank to deal with. Don’t open an account EVER. EVER! 😅 Any time you need to do anything the phone centre will redirect you to a branch. You’ll have to come into the branch at least two-three times and each time wait in line for MORE THAN ONE HOUR. This bank had lost the plot.
You cant just say what went wrong here. It's disaster. Zero sense of Customer promise and customer care. Broken processes, broken tech, broken call centre. Nothing works. RM service is smoke in a mirror. I have $ 7 digit spend per annum via bank for many years, and they even careless with this client segment. I dont feeel i am servised, i feel like i am a hostage. This service is embarrassment for financial sector of UAE. DFSA should put pressure on banks to be true to their Customer promise.
After receiving large fines for supporting money laundering. HSBC UAE is now targeting their smaller income clients by asking for source of funds for each and every transaction and asking for kyc of beneficiaries for sending small and large amounts even within UAE. I suggest opening accounts in Citibank UAE, Standard Chartered UAE, Maryah Bank, Wio.Fyi, I'm a salary account holder since 2004.
My experience today in HSBC Jumeirah branch was great ,Ms.Melanie helped me alot in reactivating my HSBC account in UK. She did a tremandous effort and support me alot .MElANIEWEERAKOON
I sincerely admire and appreciate the customer service staff Mr. Arshad, he was extremely helpful and kind, lead me through the process in the time of panic I was going through thinking my card was compromised, thankfully his swift actions on blocking the card made everything go well for me. I sincerely thank Mr. Arshad again for his kind help.
Initially my service with HSBC was great when I was first signed up, however once I did something as simple as changing my mobile number, it became a complete nightmare. I was required by HSBC to physically go into one of their branches (Jumeirah) to change my phone number and they updated it, but not on my credit card so essentially I cannot do any online transactions because my OTPs are going to my old number. No one on their online support chat could help me and when I call in I get put on hold for so long or I am transferred from one agent to the next so I give up. I cannot believe I wasted my time going into their branch physically as they told me this was my only option to update my personal details, yet my number has not been updated, this is such a simple process which has become so complicated. Their app is the most basic banking app I have ever seen, dealing with this bank has been like going back to ten years ago. They are so behind compared to my bank in Australia, to do anything is overly complicated and manual. I am shocked that a big global bank could be so backward, slow and clunky.
Oh my here we are in April 2024 and HSBC is worse than the last review in 2021 . No customer service , no interest in providing a service , I can only presume they are too busy laundering money to worry about the normal customer . They are absolutely terrible . Please never open an account with them . Chose a local bank even if you have a HSBC account in another country these guys are nothing like you would expect . The worst Bank in the world
You know when you read other negative reviews before taking action and you hope your experience would be different? I’m not going to get in the details of my case. I have just moved to Dubai from UK and opened a “Premier” account with HSBC here and I’m telling you not only has it been the worse banking experience of my life but also they made me so helpless enough to write my first Trust Pilot review ever. Just believe the reviews here and stay away.

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
