Alert.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this low score? We came up with the 49.8 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to hopper.com's industry. The algorithm detected potential high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Doubtful. Medium-Risk. Alert. tags above. Long story short, we caution you about using this website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning hopper.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between hopper.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of hopper.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of hopper.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. hopper.com is a suspect website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether hopper.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether hopper.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, hopper.com.

I would give them zero. they cheated me to book a car in Orlando Florida by posting a non-refundable rate. upon receiving the car, I had to pay the other 60%. I was not informed that there is a free-shuttle bus company by the rent car. I deleted the app anyhow.
I would give it 0 stars but oh well. Never through the process did it say it was USD and it was similar pricing to other AUD sites like Skyscanner. I gave it a chance and only found out it was USD when I checked how much came out. Contacting them is absolutely impossible and their AI is stupid. Do not use, it's a scam.Edit to Hopper reply: throughout the process it never said USD at all, even at the end confirming the purchase. Many reviews on your company blatantly say this (which I wish I had saw). Also getting to contact you guys is horrid and your AI chat does not work.
I bought a hotel in Missouri. Arrived with my toddler from North Carolina. The hotel had no clue about my reservation and no rooms left. My card was already charged. I called hopper and they assured me they would help promptly. 5 hrs later I was begging them to refund me and help me find a new hotel and stop putting me on hold or asking for 5 more minutes. After my toddler fell asleep in a car in an unfamiliar city I was forced to book another hotel in an unsafe area that I could afford since a refund was never confirmed.
I booked a rental car through Hopper for the first (and absolutely the last) time and thought I was getting a decent deal. I deliberately bypassed the listings that said at the top that the cars were EVs, as I did not want to rent an EV. I found one that said it was a “Midsize Special.” Nowhere in the listing did it specify that it was EV. So, the first thing that went wrong was that Hopper sent outdated instructions for picking up the vehicle, so after following those and waiting awhile for a shuttle that didn’t arrive, I learned from an airport employee that shuttles no longer exist at that airport, and that it was necessary to get on an airport train. Next, once I got to the car rental counter, I learned that the listing I had booked was for an EV, even though that had not been clearly specified by Hopper. I had to pay a significant additional amount at the rental counter to switch to a gas vehicle, which ended up making the reservation a pretty bad deal. I just spoke with Hopper customer service and they refused to do anything at all to remedy the situation and keep me as a customer. Never again; I deleted my account immediately and from now on will book directly with the rental companies!
I booked a flight and they notified me a day before that the flight was like $500 more, even though I got a confirmed booking email, saying it was processing. I booked my hotel and made my plans only for this company to not only ruin my plans, but they set me back money from booking a room. Worst company ever and a class action suit against them should placed at this point! They should honor the confirmations that they allow people to attach their credit cards too . I give them NO STARS AT ALL
Hopper is great for cheap fares but beware if you need flexible arrangements as they simply do not support this even if you pay for it. I booked a business class trip with flexible fares - no fee changes - specifically because I knew my plans might change. And indeed I needed to change the date of my return flight. I tried three times to do this with Hopper and each time the agent told me there were no available seats on the flight I was trying to change to. I was in the airline app a little later and lo and behold there were lots of seats on my first choice of new return flight. I told the Hopper agent this and was told he could not book one of them. So, in the end, despite paying a premium for flexible fares, the only way I could change my return flight was to book a new one way ticket direct with the airline. I’m out $600 plus the premium I paid Hopper for the flexible option that they simply refused to offer. I won’t ever use them again. You don’t save enough money to be worth the hassle. EDIT: I see the reply from Hopper telling me to call support... but the whole point is their support doesn't help, so what would be the reason to waste time calling a company that doesn't do anything after they tell you to call them? How about YOU reach out to customers when you've screwed up? Or how about having support that actually does what the contract committed Hopper to do?
For the last year and a half I have been traveling constantly. Only one time did Hopper have a rate that was even remotely reasonable when compared to Kayak, Skiplagged, Expedia, and Google Flights. On top of that, their push notifications are incessant to the degree that you have to completely silence them to keep your sanity. This app is not worth your time or money. Almost all travel sites and apps will give you cheaper rates.
Useless service; you pay for the app rather service.app is shiny, the ground reality is different, their responsibility ends up shooting an email to take-up with airliner for a cancelled flight , airliner sends message asking to takeup with agent.Fortunately airliner re-booked into a new flight with a delay of 6 hours making a whole journey to extend for 23 hours for a 14 hour flight journey. What i am paying for? no added value except browse cheap flights and book directly...
Worst company ever!!! Tried to book a flight with hopper and got an error notification. Called with customer service for over an hour while being out of country and they didn’t figure anything out. So 40 euros for the phone bill and no flights further I’m very disappointed in the customer service and the fact that I still don’t have a flight. Also still got 60 dollars in the app because of an already cancelled flight by hopper and not able to use my own money!!! Don’t ever book a flight through them.
I have been using the travel app for about 4 years now and I love it. It's easy to use, and I have always found the best deals with the app. I recently had to get involved with customer service, and that too was a great experience. I'm not sure why so many bad reviews. I will continue to use my Hopper app.
Personally didn’t have any issues with my experience with hopper. I booked 4 plane tickets including a roundtrip flight from NYC to Spain for under $700 for all 4 flights in the summer of 2022. I will use again. The hotel section seems iffy, I’d rather use Expedia for hotels.
Customer service non existent for airlines.I purchased a flight and the airline modified my flight without my confirmation. I spent 2 weeks going back and forth with hopper and some agents told me they would handle my request just to call back and be told i had to contact the airline directly. The airline denied my refund and now i lost all my money and hopper is not responding. Avoid the headache and just purchase directly from hotels/ airlines.
I see a lot of bad reviews on here but I can personally say I've utilized Hopper multiple times, including out of the country flights. I have never had a problem. I've never had to contact them to resolve an issue, so I can't speak to that, but I recommend them to people a lot and have never had negative feedback.
My flight was cancelled due to the global crowd strike outage. I have called Hopper over 10 times now about a refund and everytime I’m told they’ll get back to me in 12-24 hours. They NEVER get back to me so I keep calling and getting absolutely no resolution even after asking to escalate this several times. I pretty much never leave reviews but this has been a terrible experience.
hate leaving bad reviews but honestly, no way am i booking through hopper again. I had to cancel one of my flights in November 2023, got credit to be used within 1 year. IT WILL NOT LET ME USE THIS CREDIT TO RE-BOOK. I had to call 4x and it still isn't booked or resolved. They had me request to be accepted into a flight, then couldn't accept the request for some glitch. Phone help was no help as they couldn't find the same flights as i was finding either, no one responds to emails and it will not allow me to book thru app as it keeps making me request approval which just bounces me back to a general email that tells me to calll....... seriously?? never booking on hopper again.
First time using the Hopper app--worst travel experience of my life. Booked a hotel through the app, but on check-in the front desk had no record of our reservation. All other hotels were booked (big convention), so we were stranded. Called customer service (outsourced to India), and they provided no help other than offering a refund. But instead of a refund, they DOUBLE-CHARGED us, for twice the hotel cost!! Called customer service again and got a run around--still waiting on BOTH refunds! Beware of this scam--run away!
Run from hopper. Booked flight and paid extra for priority support and CFAR insurance. Guess what it got me? Nothing, nada, nil. Do not waste your money. Use any booking site but Hopper. Worst customer service ever.
Bought round tickets for family of 3 from Seattle to Berlin. On their return flight from Berlin when we tried to check in it shows only 2 person, we called hopper they told us we canceled my daughter's return ticket from the hopper app. Which we never did. We end up buying a return ticket for 1780$ so she fly back with us. Wonder if anybody else had same experience
There is no clear "contact us" on their website. When I finally found a number the customer service representative sent me an email with a link meant to help with a refund. The link did not work, when I advised she said she would send me it again.. she proceeded to resend the same link then sent me right to the "rate this call" so I could not speak to her anymore. She fully knew she did not have the correct link then hung up on me. Her name is Sheetal B
Literal piece of s*** service. I will never book through them again. Was trying to book a Nashville to Orlando flight and they booked me 4 separate flights from Nashville-Boston Boston-Orlando and then on the way back they booked Orlando-Philly Philly-Nashville. It was just as expensive and now I have to pay for luggage 4 times. I am beyond upset. Take my advice; do not use hopper!

“$1500 mistake”
Beware of this! They will book you on the most inconvenient flight there is. Three connections and over a two hour layover was not acceptable for me. I bought the protection for $113 and it didn't protect anything. They gave me a credit for Hopper I do not want a Hopper credit. I will never use them again! “DO NOT USE!”
DO NOT USE! I purchased tickets for $665 and as I was paying, it told me there was an error, I received my itinerary via airline to my email and then later got a confirmation that my flights were cancelled. When I called the airline asking why my flights were cancelled, they told me it was done via the website. Mind you they took my money, but had not refunded it so I was not able to re-book my flights! When I spoke with Hopper they told me they never took the money out to begin with because the purchase never went through, but it most certainly had! I now currently have all this money in limbo and no flights! DO NOT USE HOPPER! Products used:flight purchase Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Unlawful practices, charged twice for single booking and refusing refund”
**Title:** Unacceptable Service, Unlawful Practices, and Unresolved Issues **Review:** I have had an incredibly frustrating and distressing experience with Hopper. On 19th August 2024, I attempted to book a stay at the Coldra Court Hotel by Celtic Manor through their platform. During the booking process, I encountered a "Server trouble" message, which led me to retry the booking. Despite this technical fault, Hopper charged me twice for what was supposed to be a single booking. When I contacted customer service, they wrongly insisted that I had made two separate bookings, despite my clear explanation and evidence that the duplicate charge resulted from their system error. This repeated implication that I was at fault was not only incorrect but also deeply stressful. Hopper assured me that they had contacted the hotel to cancel the duplicate booking and that I would receive a follow-up call, which never happened. When I reached out to the hotel directly, they confirmed that no cancellation request had been received from Hopper or the third-party provider they used (Expedia). Hopper has unlawfully withheld my funds while waiting for a refund from the hotel, despite the issue being entirely their fault. Their failure to address this promptly breaches the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which mandates that services be provided with reasonable care and skill. They have also been unjustly enriched by retaining my duplicate payment without promptly refunding it. I have now demanded a full refund and compensation for the stress, interest charges, and costs incurred due to their poor handling of this situation. If this matter is not resolved within 14 days, I will escalate it to the Financial Ombudsman Service and pursue legal action. Overall, this experience has been highly disappointing. I would strongly advise others to be cautious when using Hopper's services, as their handling of issues like this is far from satisfactory and raises serious concerns about their business practices. “Will never use Hopper again”
Awful service. Paid for disruption insurance and after being on hold with them for over an hour they stated they were unable to pay because the distruption was caused by the airline. After pulling up their policy and emailing it to the manager, she said there was nothing she could do. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she stated, "there is no one above me." I will never use Hopper again. Service Value Returns Quality
“DO NOT USE HOPPER”
Paid additional fees to select seats and all of my travelling party were separated into seperate unselected seats ( 3 were children under 12) Sat on hold for over 2 hours on an international call to receive no reimbursement or refund. Out of pocket hundreds of dollars. Do not use hopper booking platform. Products used:Flights Service Value Returns Quality
“If i could give no stars i would”
What a pathetic company, trained to screw people over and sit on the phone with people who can't even explain. They have screwed me over all week where i have spent my entire vacation on the phone. Every-time i sit on the phone for hours i was assured the issue would be fixed and then it never was. After days and days they "changed their mind" after screwing me over. After i sent out all the referrals and gained all the "free" rooms, they locked me out of the account for doing what was told. Then took the money back. Again, i spent hours on the phone where i was promised things that never came and later took back. This is unreal. What a money sucking, uneducated customer service, piece of garbage company. Do not use them. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Terrible service”
I have never been so disgusted with an app. These people are just a bunch of crooks. DON'T USE, you're wasting your money. Lousy service! Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Worse Company Ever”
As I'm currently writing this review, I'm sitting in a hotel lobby for over 9 hours trying to get a room that I paid for 3 weeks in advance. Customer service keeps hanging up on me. No one calls you back. I've spoken to 3 supervisors as of the moment and currently am writing this review while I have one on the phone. My body hurts from sitting in this lobby all day. I traveled from NY to Louisiana straight 23 hr drive and I'm exhausted, all I wanted to do was shower and go to sleep. You can't reach no one but if you do they hang up on you. Worse company ever. Do not use. Service Value Quality
“Unfair business practice - Better off booking directly with airline providers”
When booking flights, the app appears that you are able to book seats for the price they are offering. If they are unable to full-fill your seats with the airline, they send an email stating that you will be reimbursed for your seats. However, they list the seats on your receipt as "Free" and thus your refund is $0. I would have purchased the flights directly through the airline for a cheaper price without seats. I only used the app because it included seats. Service Value Returns Quality
“Scam artists”
I did a price freeze on a airline ticket for 183. After purchase they changed the freez from 183 to 327. I called 4 times to get the issue resolved and they refused to hung up on me or told me it was not refundable. I had to call my credit card company and report fraid on hopper over $37. I hope it was worth losing a customer and getting a bad review hopper. I will use you service to watch for price drops, but will be booking through the airline or expedia because they give out the same price. Tip for consumers:Expect fraud or problems if you book with them Products used:I will never purchase anything from the app again Service Value Returns Quality
“Never again!”
I purchased two tickets with the option of choosing my seats. For some reason it didn't let me, it said I had to choose my seats after I checked out. I proceeded to check out and then realized I couldn't choose my seats. When I call they tell me it has to be directly with the airline. I call the airline, now they are trying to charge me $60 per seat after I paid extra to choose my seats on hopper. I've been on the phone for over 2 hours with hoppers customer service. Two $#*!ing Habibis that can't $#*!ing help you. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the lady keeps saying "give me 3-5 minutes to transfer you over to a supervisor" 12 minutes later she repeats herself 4 $#*!ing times. “I would give them a negative one if I could”
Airline changed my flight I called them within an hour of it being changed to try and change my flight to something else but they said they couldn't do anything right then and to call back I called five more times within 24 hours then they said I can't change my flight because it has been over 24 hours. The only reason I don't have a new flight is because I trusted Hopper Tip for consumers:You need to skip Hopper just go to the airlines
“Scammed for flight purchse”
I booked a flight through Hopper. Which included the price of the flight and charges for seating. Booked through them because it was cheaper than booking directly through the airline. Immediately after booking, I got an email from the airline stating I hadn't paid for seating. Contacted Hopper only for them to tell me my seating wasn't approved by the airline and that they would have to refund me for the seating. They also stated I would now have to pay for seating through the airline. So now by me paying Hooper for the flight and the airline for seating, I'm actually paying more than I would have paid if I just would have booked directly through the airline from the beginning. I will never trust Hopper again nor will I refer anyone to Hopper. Service Value
“DO NOT BOOK THROUGH HOPPER THEY WILL RUIN YOUR TRAVEL”
The VIP support is probably not humans, just a robot that chats with you in circles. The conversation goes like this: "Give me a moment to look at your reservation" *10 mins later* "I'm transferring you to some-important-sounding-department to further assist your needs" Me: "no, please help me. I'm stranded!" *cycle repeats* I purchased VIP support and missed-connection guarantee and I've tried talking to them for a week to help when I had a close connection for a flight. They refused to help. I was left stranded at the airport overnight. Use Hopper to see prices and schedules, but NEVER book with Hopper. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Worst travel experiance ever!”
Book airline, car, and hotel with Hopper. Car rental company tried to stick me with an electric car in the Arizona desert. Rental company said I'd have to take it up with the 3rd party app (Hopper). Well, I called Hopper and the second I stated I needed their help with my car rental, a recorded message came on saying I need to work directly with the car rental company. I called back twice, got a live person each time, and once I said I needed help with my car rental, the same message started playing. Hopper simply disconnects you and puts you into this outgoing message with no chance to talk to a person. Clearly they could not care less about your vacation. Car rental company (Nu Car) would not make changes and I was unable to talk to anyone at Hopper. I went elsewhere for my car rental so I paid for two cars. These 3rd party travel apps are a bad idea. Book directly with the hotel, car rental, and airline. It's the only way to be treated well and not have issues such as this. Service Value Returns Quality
“$2169 for a flight - 0 stars”
I give them 0 stars, So I paid 2169$ for a flight and got nothing out of it that included trip insurance for 161.77$ missed connection guarantee (whatever this means) for 163$, VIP support for 42$ and a tip for 5$ so why did it happen to me i don't know had to reschedule my flight and they told me to pay the fare difference per the airline policy and they was asking near 800$ and I'm writing this as calm as a person can be because it's not my first time being scammed. So folks should u decide to go with this website because it's cheap I'll leave that up to you, have a good evening. Service Value Quality
“Fake flight fake time”
Try to travel and hopper cancel my flight. Look up flight through the real airlines they never had flight on that day or time. “Beware of double charges on car rentals”
I've enjoyed using hopper for flights but I rented a Budget car rental recently and was charged for taxes and fees through the app and again in person when I picked up the car. Budget was willing to itemize what I was charged for but Hopper wasn't leaving the question of whether they are double charging people.
“Horrible customer support”
I wish I could issue zero. Its very hard to get the support and the support sucks. They eat your money.I booked tickets and airlines cancelled the flights and refunded the money in full. But, hopper has not returned my money in full and the added funds I used on my account were not credited back. I made few calls and spent few hours and finall they issued a voucher which has a validity and those funds have to be used in one go. Very horrible service. I don't recommend them for your flight or hotel booking. Service Returns Quality
“Gift Certificate”
Don't buy a hopper gift certificate. I received one over 6 months ago and have not been able to redeem it. I have spoken to so many people over 100 emails and phone calls and no one at hopper has been able to resolve the issue. They also will not issue a refund. So they have stolen $90.00 from me. I will post the emails so people can see how ridiculous the excuses are. I can imagine a company which has received tens of millions from capital one, can higher a competent IT team. I don't know who to talk to but I want my money back or fix it. Service Value Returns Quality
“Dishonest”

“Hopper did not honor my request and charged $11.95 for VIP support”
Unbelievable... Hopper didn't get my special request right and because I called customer support they charged me a $11.85 VIP charge and a $6.48 hopper tip. Wanted two queen beds and also requested to change credit card info and was assured that it would be no problem and that I could take care of everything at check in. This was not the case. “Where is my refund credit?”
If Hopper service only offers customers a voucher, then you need to change your app to say that language. Hopper app says: "Get 100% of your ticket cost back in travel "credit" from the airline or Hopper. The app does not describe offering customers a "travel voucher". As credit. Hopper sold me expensive insurance to change the status of my "non refundable ticket." Therefore I expected a refundable airline ticket. Also, The definition of "Credit:" is, An amount or sum, placed at a persons disposal by a bank. Hopper refuses to offer me a refund, for my trip cancellation. “Bad Advertising”
They need to update their application. They do not make their clients aware of the hotel check in times until the email confirmation is received. How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We have two more powerful fraud prevention tools that you should know about. We've been asked over and over again about the most effective ways to stay safe online. After testing several fraud prevention products online, we could certainly say the winner is a browser extension called Guardio. It automatically blocks 100x more harmful websites than competitors and 10x more malicious downloads than any other security tool. It was tested and vetted by our Scam Detector team.
Guardio has over a million users, and while it is already affordable for the benefits it provides (just a few dollars a month), it covers up to 5 family members. For Scam Detector readers exclusively, Guardio offers a 20% discount this week. You can protect your online browsing from installing malware forever by clicking the button below:
How To Stop Third Parties From Tracking Your Devices
The second most powerful fraud prevention tool you should consider is Surfshark. Here is why you should get it now, as the first 5 months are free:
- They have an award-winning VPN service, protecting your privacy and preventing third parties from tracking your device.
- They will notify you when your personal info is leaked online so you can delete your private data from the Internet immediately.
- Surfshark has a super powerful antivirus program. It offers you effective protection from viruses and zero-day threats, a lightweight, clean, and easy-to-use app, and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
- Check this: They hide your online searches, which means you will get only organic search results without tracking and follow-up ads. For example, when you search for a flight, and the next time you look at the same search, the prices are higher. With Surfshark, this doesn't happen.
For the Black Friday promotion, Surfshark offers 86% off + up to 5 months free to Scam Detector readers. You can get the deal only this week HERE or by clicking the button below.

I smell a scam. I found this site connected to my credit card, but I didn\'t connect it. I tried to log in with all my standard travel email addresses, yet it didn\'t know who I was. I wouldn\'t trust this site at all.
