As a couple seeking to get a mortgage in Spain we were recommended by some to employ the services of Hipoteken.Whilst initially, and naturally nervous, we were soon put at ease by their friendly yet very professional manner.They untangled the mortgage application process and answered any queries (of which there were many!) we had. I made use of Hipoteken International Mortgages in 2023 to handle my family’s transition from the Netherlands to Spain. As a self-employed non-resident, buying a home was more complicated. Philip from Hipoteken found solutions to our problems and made the purchase possible. The team speak multiple languages, so there was never any need for me to translate any of my documents. They also have professional experience with the major banks, so they were able to streamline the process of obtaining approval for a mortgage. Everyone I dealt with was calm and courteous at all times. We couldn’t have moved without them!

Hipoteken have been a God send in helping arrange our mortgage not least because I am self employed in the UK and had difficulty proving my income as regular. First, let me just say that if it weren't for Daniel Morante and Luis Grateron, we wouldn't have our home in Spain. Simple as that.If your income comes from outside Europe (US, UK, etc) and if you are 55 years old and up, your options for securing a mortgage from a Spanish bank with anything like reasonable terms are very limited. This shouldn't be the case. We have great credit, no debt, and make a good living. We had no idea what we were in for, and we wasted SO MUCH time and energy applying with Spanish banks only to be offered unacceptable terms. So. Incredibly. Frustrating. Please don't make the same mistakes we did.Daniel knows this market extremely well and directed us to great options we would never, ever have found ourselves. He introduced us to a bank with a loan that he has put members of his own family into.Then Luis took over and walked us through every step in the process, even coordinating with our attorney, the staff at the bank, the notary, etc.There was a day when I was so stressed out as the deadline for securing funding loomed that I almost lost it. Then the phone rang. It was Daniel's manager, who could "hear" the panic in my email and spent at least 30 minutes ... late on a Friday afternoon ... in Spain ( ... ahem) reassuring me that all would be well.Top to bottom and all through the process, Hipoteken folks are great to work with -- a master class in knowing your business and in listening to, understanding, and ensuring that your customers' needs are met.They are very knowledgeable and completely trustworthy. They communicate clearly and in detail. And everything has happened exactly as they said it would.Very highly recommended.
