handyman.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives handyman.com a medium trust score on the platform: 59.9. It signals that the business can best be defined by the following tags: Active. Medium-Risk.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this low score? We came up with the 59.9 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to handyman.com's industry. The algorithm detected high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Active. Medium-Risk. tags above. Long story short, we still see some red flags with this website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning handyman.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between handyman.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of handyman.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of handyman.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. handyman.com is a problematic website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether handyman.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether handyman.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, handyman.com.

TheyClaim they help people, especially older people with certain chores. Never EVEN used their services but made a GENEROUS donation when I moved to Pathetic, Pa. They will GLADLY accept Your money, just like the Internal revenue.
Natty came to sort out some guttering around our new shed that had been connected badly to a water butt. The guttering was basically the wrong size and didn't catch the rain water. Natty soon fixed the problem. He was excellent, very fast, very reasonably priced, professional and did a sterling job. I highly recommend.
I hate giving them even 1 Star!I hate giving them even 1 Star!I ordered a play set from Wayfarer for our grandchild. 3 different handymen came out after missing numerous appointments. Every one of them said it could not be prepared giving more lies as to why. I had a friend of mine take the unassembled parts to the garbage and he kept it and put it up himself in one afternoon. No matter how much I complained there was no one I could call and get any response. These are just a bunch of unrelated lazy handymen on a list with no connection with each other or qualifications for the job. The guy who I gave it to junk is an immigrant who worked hard for half the price! Stay away!
Handyman Douglas Hicks put a microwave cart together for me. He did an excellent job. Very professional and friendly. I highly recommend him.

“Privacy fence”
This might as well of been built with toothpicks! The most horrible job I've ever had in my life! Tony Sieli A&E construction. Hanyman.com does not have an area to leave a review or let them know their contractor has NO experience. 2 rails, 16 foot post, cheap pickets, nails not screwed. I'll be surprised if this last through a 20 mph wind. Fence will not keep my dogs safe as it doesn't even touch the ground! He has no idea how to bid, build or do anything correct. DO NOT TRUST HANDYMAN.com Tip for consumers:Spring branch texas was the location Products used:Privacy fence Service Value Quality
“$$$ to expensive”
Called about putting in two outside doors. I have all the required supplies and only needed an install. Overall time commitment 2 hours max. 1 hour for an experienced person. The representative contacted me I explained what was needed. She stated they want 500 a door. This was more than the door cost. She's like yea I know but that's the fee. If u know u fees are to high then why charge that price. Who would pay that? I thing they have no sense of reality or even care people turn them down. U handy man for a reason. Most people have several projects they need done. Charge a fair price for good work and you will have plenty of work.
“OVER PROMISED AND UNDER DELIVERED!”
This company was recommended by Wayfair whom we bought a gazebo from. We had to pay Wayfair in advance for the handyman services, well. The gazebo arrived quickly, however 2 weeks later it is still sitting outside in my yard. Handyman has scheduled and cancelled four dates, the last time they told us they made "special" arrangements to be sure they would be here to get the job done. NOT

“Terrible "Service", borderline scam”
I took off two days from work and sacrificed a Saturday waiting for a "pro" that didn't show or call. Each time the rep apologized for the inconvenience and offered a $25 gift card, none of which I've received. I ended up learning and doing the project myself. Would never recommend them to anyone. Waste of time and money. Value Quality
“I'm receiving router bits from this outfit and when...”
I'm receiving router bits from this outfit and when I try to pay the bill on line, I input all the contact information, but this stupid 4-poit star just sits there and rotates - nothing happens. Their web developer sucks. I'm really sorry I ever got involved with this bunch of creeps. They're associated with something called Scout.com somehow. Worst experience with a website I've ever had.
“Great service great job.”
I needed some shelves in closets in the garage, some electrical work hanging chandeliers. Mike showed up on time, Did a great job, exactly the way we wanted it, We are very happy and satisfied, definitely recommend and definitely use again.
“DO NOT HIRE I rate 0 stars.”
This is a faceless service that takes your money upfront with no ability to dispute the quality of the job or contractor. It's not possible to speak to a live person. The contractor showed up and refused to do the service I requested but I got no refund. I disputed with my bank and they are claiming I did receive the service though they have nothing signed from me to prove it. Still in dispute.
“I wish I could give a 1/2 star”
Hired them to assemble 3 large desks which I described. They calculated 6 hours for the job. Pre-paid $278.00 Worker arrived on time. 6 hours later he only had one desk put together. My choice was to pay for additional hours or he would leave. I tried to contact handyman by email (no other way to contact them) A day later I still haven't heard back. I agreed to pay him more. 12 hours later and $200 more, he left without completely finishing the assembly, and the drawers wouldn't go in because he used the wrong screws. Spent part of today finishing his job and looking for screws that no one seems to have because I don't want to dismantle the desks looking for where he used him. Still no response from them other than 5 emails wanting me to install their app.
“Scams will take food from my foster children's mouth with a conscious”
I didn't get a single thing from this company for my prepaid 375.16 but a phone call. This is the biggest scam, and how do you expect to take people's money and they not get anything for it, the last time I checked it don't work like that. I guarantee you won't take my money that easy. Tip for consumers:RUN LIKE HELL IT'S A SCAM JUST COLLECTING YOUR MONEY Products used:NONE Service Value Returns Quality
“They suck”
They want money but can't do the job right. I am talking about meethandyman.com Every time you call them. No one can answer the phones. But they keep taking money even after you already canceled 4 months ago.
“Scammed By A Handyman:”
We engaged a Mike Thiel from Griffith,, Indiana to repave a portion of our driveway. It turned out much less than desirable. The pavement dried with pebbles that had risen from the bottom. We called him back to redo it, but wanted more money. This man is a scammer who does not know how to complete a job properly. He wanted cash of course, but I was wise to him, and demanded he be paid with a check. Mike Thiel shows his beautiful work with sophisticated posts and I am confident that he uses pictures of other peoples' work. He keeps his address a secret, so I have no legal recourse. Please never hire this man, because he will scam you too. Products used:Magnesium Float Husky, Expansion Joints, Steel Wire Mesh Veranda PVC Board, Vigoro River Pebbles, Jiffy Cement, Breaker Chiesel. Service Value Returns Quality
“Unsatisfactory work”
Posted a request for someone to recaulk replacement windows purchased and installed by Home Depot (do not recommend). Received one response on handyman.com, ER Construction of RI. The only good thing I can say is they did show up, even though it was 5-6 hours late on the appointed day. The recaulking that they did started to crack within one week. I have contacted them 3 times within the last 6 weeks. The first two times they promised they would be back to take care of the problem. I have never heard back from them and it appears they do not guarantee or stand behind their work. They are more interested in moving on to the next customer they can find online. Do not recommend.
“Don't hire Vernon Smith in Holly Springs, is a hustler and dishonest.”
I gave him a punch list and he didn't do a lot of them. Then expected me to pay the entire agreed amount. Unfortunately, I gave him the amount of the already paid deposit and the entire amount. He agreed he would repay the deposit and dropped off to never be heard from again. He did some real work but not what was agreed to plus is overall dishonest. Friendly yet creepy. Do not get near him.
“Stay away from this company!”
I ordered the house cleaning and paid in advance through a credit card for three hours of work. The first time the cleaner arrived one hour late, she finished working as if she worked three hours, although she worked only two hours! I thought, but okay, next time it will be better! The most interesting was the next time! The next time my credit card was charged in advance, but no one came. When I called the company, I was offered to reschedule and I had to do it because money had already been withdrawn from my credit card, but no one came next week either! In short, I decided to refuse their services and hope that they will no longer withdraw money from my credit card. I absolutely do not recommend this company! Stay away from this company!
“They overcharged”
I order 8' pool table from Wayfair. And I paid $625.99 to put up the table together for me. Wayfair drop the pool table in my garage. I got an email the night before they come that I have to move the pool table down to the basement by myself and they will not move for us and they will just assemble it in my garage if I don't move it down to the basement. Way over price for easy job!
“Unbelievable! So Unprofessional.”
I regret the day I contacted this company. My appointment was canceled and rescheduled 3 times and when I decided enough was enough they refused to issue a refund. I paid a $35.00 deposit and because I was fed up with the constant rescheduling they refused to issue my refund stating "it doesn't work like that. I can't speak to the quality of the work because the installer never made it to the work site. I wouldn't trust them. Totally unprofessional.
“THE HANDYMAN FROM HELL”
I called this man to replace cabinets in my kitchen and fix the plumbing from a pipe leak and he did not give me a estimate. The following day he came over unannounced tore down my kitchen and wanted more money. After tearing down the kitchen he did not return the following day. On Saturday my brother and I decided to fix the mess he made and he showed up. He first of all asked for money and I asked him to finish the job. He proceded to do the work, worked for about 2 hours and then left to eat lunch. When he returned I gave him some money and asked him to complete the job. He stormed into the kitchen and back yard and picked up his tools and QUIT. His name is IVAN KOCHERGIN don't use him! Tip for consumers:DON'T USE THIS HANDYMAN FROM HELL! Service Value Quality
“They never showed up.”
They were to restretch our carpet. They were to come at 1:00 p.m. Oct 31,2020. They cancelled the same day at 9:07 am that morning and rescheduled for the next day at 3:30pm., at 1:30 pm on Nov 1,2020. On nov. 1,2020 at 1:30 pm they canceled that appointment and wanted to come 4 days later. We rented our own equipment and did it our self. We had all our furniture moved out and was even without television. We had other people hired to move our furniture back in and had to reschedule that. Can't reach by phone, only e-mail.
“Very furious and unsatisfied customer.”
I schedule for a handyman to come out and setup my sons basketball goal through online shopping with Walmart. The cost for the handyman service was $99.00. My appointments have been on an ongoing cancellation and reschedule process starting from March the 22nd, 25th, and 27th.On the 25th I was contacted by text after 7:00pm, and tonight I was contacted by email at 10: 05pm.My appointment was for tomorrow Mar, 27th at 11:00 am. My kids and I have been waiting and exciting about their basketball goal being put up very soon. I have left my days open for these appointments that have been cancelled at short notice. And for someone to be so inconsiderate about our feelings has me very upset. This business should be conducted in a more professional manner. So we currently have a box with a basketball goal sitting in our garage. And it has been sitting for 5 days collecting dust. Because the handyman and this service provider have failed to fulfill their promises. Thanks for nothing. Tip for consumers:Don't put your total trust and dependence into the fact that someone will keep their commitment to you by totally fulfilling your needs. Products used:I didn't receive and products from this company. I was in need of their handyman services. In which I was given a run around. It was never provided. “Lame site with fake contractors”
This site is pretty useless. I created an account and posted a project, but not a single contractor has responded. It's a simple project (drywall repair and painting of a living room), so it's not like the job is too complicated. Of the contractors that supposedly "match" my project, when I tried contacting them via the site, I get routed to HomeAdvisor.com, which is another lame site. Finally you get to a "request direct quote" button, or something named like that, and still no one responds. I've "directly contacted" three possible contractors and not a single one has responded. In one case, I've been waiting for over a month, so the delay can't be attributed to the holiday season. My other huge complaint about the site is, once you post your project you're brought to a page of "local contractors" that match the criteria of your project. Now, I live in Arlington MA and the list of contractors on that page were from Florida, California, and Virginia. No where near my location and completely irrelevant to my needs. Also, at the Handyman.com site, there's no way to directly contact customer support. The only option is to send an email, but you have to pick your subject and they only offer the subjects of "Partner with us" or "Become a contractor." Like I said, lame site and no customer support. Don't bother - go directly to Yelp and search for real contractors with real reviews.
“Repair a drawer of a lateral wooden cabinet that won't close.”
The job was completed in one and a half hours. Andres the handy man was on time, very professional, worked hard and solved the problem. Now the drawer closes. Thank you.
“Good Job well done”
He was on time for he job. Work on it till it was done. Did a very good job. Clean up after himself and haul it off with him. ALL WAS WELL DONE Price was a little on the high side $$$
“My Experience”
I enjoyed my Handyman person. She took good care of my needs, and even gave me a few good cleaning tips. I was overall very pleased withy Handyman person. Thank God for you Handyman.
“Great seevice”
They are very handy and they do a perfect job, I would recommend anyone to make use of their services

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
