Charging obscene amounts of money for barcodes.

I had a problem on our account - my fault entirely - and had to contact GS1.I cannot express enough how helpful the gentleman I spoke to was and resolved the problems and other helpful issues while I was on the phone to him.It is a task these day trying to find a contact telephone let alone a helpful person on the end of the line who knows what they are talking about.The whole process was fast and efficient - by far the best company I have had dealings with in a long timeGreat service GS1

The customer service was very unhelpful. I regret buying barcodes from them and will never do business with them again. When I tried to downgrade my renewal package from 1000 barcodes to 100 because I don't need that many, they said it was impossible. They only allow upgrades, not downgrades. That's essentially a rip-off and they charge me 10% more to renew my membership.

Dreadful customer service. No matter how many tickets you open they simply don't reply. Try phoning they'll leave you on hold forever. The sheer cost of the barcodes once you use your "free initial allocation" is eye watering,and they offer zero asistance going forward.

I am trying to upload a CSV file and it fails but they give no indication why. I ring the support number at 10.30am and it says we are currently closed and open at 9.00am. what a joke.

Good experience - quick support and helpful. They are clear about pricing/cancellation etc, so if you had debt collectors, it was likely an oversight on your part.

Despite being in the City of London, don't be fooled, GS1 are monopolizing the barcode market and charging insane amounts of money for something that used to cost very little. They are a band of corporate crooks who are unscrupulous about how they take and make money. Thieving b*stards who likely have never experienced hardship in their lives. Just because you fleece people for barcodes doesn't make you less greedy than a banker. Do not use them.

Incompentant in general, falsely claims if you want to sell anywhere online you must have their GS1 barcodes. Tries to make out it is a mandatory requirement, when it is not.A perfect waste of money.

The website always seems to be down. Very unreliable, wished there was somewhere else i could get EAN's from! When you run out of numbers they advise you have to wait 48 hours to get another 10,000 so the business comes to a stop! You should be able to just add them online, but then again this goes back to my first point!

Its a racket which you may not be available to avoid if you sell somewhere that requires GS1 EANs. No way should maintaining a database of EANs justify these high prices, and don't be conned into paying their high prices for barcodes. There are websites where you can input your EAN and get the barcode for free.

A company full of con artists and scamming everyone whoever make an account with them. They just want to lure you into making a account and then keeping active with costly yearly subscription, unless you want to lose your UPC codes rights. The customer service is also very poor, as they haven't got any idea what they are doing, you can't get a refund once you have paid for subscription if you decide to not ahead with using them UPC codes. I would recommend not using them at all, there are lot of cheaper companies which can issue UPC codes for less than $2 each.

Do not waste your money on an utterly rubbish and pointless barcode service! I paid upfront for a 1 year subscription for an amount of barcodes to use for my business only to find that Amazon not only didn't recognise the barcodes provided by GS1 but removed my listings and actively blocked them! GS1 is a complete waste of time and an utter con! They even tried to get me to pay for another year upfront which is a disgrace! My membership was cancelled and whilst I've lost a year's subscription which I paid with NO refund, do NOT waste your time with GS1 and AVOID them at all costs! A truly rubbish service!

sharks beware don't subscribe membership is voluntary, they put debt collectors on you after 7 days for renewal - why should you be forced into renewalavoid at all costs

Awful company, this company takes your subscription knowing full well the barcodes don't work with Amazon, then they tell you to contact Amazon, and guess what? Amazon tell you to contact GS1! This is a money making racket!

I bought a membership to sell on Amazon and it was useless. I emailed them and they admitted it didn't work and canceled my membership, but "forgot" to refund me! I kept emailing them, but I didn't receive any answer! Scammers!

I asked for a refund after 2 days because the GTIN doesn't work on Amazon and no one answear. So i started a complain with Ombudsman.Don't buy nothing from them, they are worst services in the whole world.

Have you ever played Monopoly?GS1 is presented as THE ONLY legal option if you have your own products.After paying £142.80 (every year!) I am allowed to download... 3 barcodes, or I have to pay more. Thank you for your generosity, I really think 3 barcodes for £142.80 is way too many (£47 for a barcode is unheard of! Surely even Lidl charges more).

I have been a member of GS1 for two years and I have decided now I no longer need their services.I duly contacted them to cancel my subscription and now four weeks in I am receiving emails interrogating me for confidential company information as to why I wish to leave.I stated that I am not obliged to provide a reason and I am stuck in back and forth messages where this organisation refuses to simply close my account. Beware of this company they are not legitimate and employ nefarious tactics should you simply wish to cancel your subscription and no longer use their services.

You need these numbers to sell on Amazon however both Amazon and GS1 don't care if someone is already using your issued numbers and allow others to hijack and use your numbers on their products.
