Order something 7 days ago online for store pickup website says in stock, almost immediately it got cancelled citing out stock. I tried use ship to store for pickup option got email saying will notify when there, then customer service emails saying they don't do that even though website says they do. Checked today site still says in store for pickup. Very bad customer service and poor communication and business practices with franchise and head office
They are switching out known products for their new own label products and at same time removing many products. I have been shopping there for at least 20 years, in last month becoming very disappointed and unsatisfied. New management maybe and if so they have become very profit oriented. Will not be shopping there as often for sure.
I was shopping at Giant Tiger Moodie Dr location and was pleasantly served by an Associate named Jennie and she was a great customer service rep and very helpful to find all we needed sinse we did not love in the area ,was a great help to me and my friends .Will shop there often ! Thanks a lot !
Buyer beware...Magic Hose with Bonus; Nozzle, 25-ft. Worst junk I've ever bought. After 2 uses less than a month the hose split in the middle. I cut the hose off at the split and reattached it only waiting to see how long it will last this time. Ps. After examining the internal hose it was made with a very low quality rubber hose that had cracks all along the entire length. Even though the price was low it's still a waste of money since I got only 2 uses out of it.
I don’t always shop at Giant Tiger but when see really good deals I will get things there. Not always good quality things but good when you’re on a low budget.
Customer service at Giant tiger are very bad and rude and racist and there is no way you can deal with them or with their Manager or with their headquarters Anyhow, I will not recommend Giant tiger to any of my Friend
I formerly gave a 5 star rating for GT but after this ongoing issue, have changed my rating. I consistently give my local GT a lot of business. There is one cashier that I seem to get most of the time; she is overtly abrupt and rude, bordering on being outright nasty. Today I spent over $80. and had to bag everything myself. She busied herself with impatiently throwing a box off the counter onto the floor and fidgeting around. When I have quite a few items, I help to bag to speed up the process. This one didn't offer to help and I held up the line as there were quite a few items for me to bag by myself. She just wanted my purchases out of the way and started to cash through the next customer before I even had the chance to bag all of my things. I'm really done with her ongoing unjustified and unacceptable attitude. I don't know what her problem is. She shouldn't be dealing with the public if she can't at least be civil with the people that pay her wages.
I bought a box of burgers for 12 dollars. When I got them home to cook them, there was about 1/4 inch of ice all around the burgers. I don't know for sure but it looks like the burgers unthawed and then frozen again. They have salad on the shelf that is so rotten it is turning to liquid. If I could give a zero I would.

Just wondering if people bought the all sorts Marche Brand at Giant Tiger because if you did then you know where I'm coming from. The candy were so hard that I wouldn't serve them to anyone for christmas. I do however intend to return them with my receipt. I think Giant Tiger should be ashamed of themselves for selling this product without checking the freshness of it first.Take my advice Don't Buy It.
**This is for Giant Tiger as a whole (particularly in Hamilton). TL;DR at bottom.The staff at checkout is always friendly but we usually opt for self-checkout when it's an option. The staff on the floor in the clothing section is always rude and confrontational. There was a trivial incident last year where we had accidentally banged our shopping cart into a metal sign while trying to get out of someone's way, and some elderly employee came over to glare at us and ask 'what the hell happened, what was that noise?!'. We apologized and said the cart hit the sign and chuckled about it, while she continued to glare at us for a good 30 seconds before walking away... but she monitored us the rest of the time we were in there. ??? We've had multiple incidences of clothing section floor staff staring at us/watching us just for walking around and looking at clothes -- it's very uncomfortable. The prices keep going up but the quality doesn't improve. I like the quality of GT products, though the options/variety are lacking, and everything is more expensive than Walmart now, so my family and I quit buying clothes from GT. We occasionally buy groceries from here though, because they carry stuff a little cheaper than other stores, or they carry stuff no other store carries (like certain brands and types of frozen fish, or frozen mozzarella sticks), but again, the overall variety is hugely lacking. There's also a very small quantity limit. Where Walmart may allow unlimited soup, GT limits you to 4-6 cans, for example. There's also an ongoing problem of their website stating they carry (XYZ) item, but the stores have been out of stock for over a year straight and removed the shelf section for these items -- items that only GT carried. They do have a lot of decent sales, but items sell out almost immediately and don't get restocked at all during the sale, making the sales pointless for most folks after Day 1, Hour 1 of the sale. Finally, they aren't great with plant upkeep when they sell plants. They're always dying/wilting and either super overwatered, or drier than a Sahara desert. (If you've never been to a GT and want to know, they're like a Mini Walmart -- Clothing, some weird books, perfume, bathroom/toiletries/shower items, pet care, cleaners, food/snacks, pillows/blankets/bedroom stuff, towels and bathroom stuff, plants, Christmas/Holiday decor, birthday/holiday cards, kids' toys and candles. They carry paper bags and reusable bags, and usually have regular checkout and self-checkout.)I like GT, and I still shop there occasionally, but it gets worse each year and isn't really worth it anymore aside from 2-3 grocery items nobody else carries. TL;DR 1. Very low variety of items, items sell out fast and are not promptly restocked sometimes for weeks 2. Prices keep going up but quality stays the same3. Very low quantity limit4. Mix of nice and rude staff 5. No bathroom -- they have a Customer Bathroom, but they quit allowing customers to use it and keep it locked6. Frequent sales on yummy items that only GT carries... but they sell out immediately and aren't restocked at all during the sale 7. Poor plant care
Why is it that every time I attend at this store I have issues? I was there today, looking for socks that were 2 for $6.00 and asked a lady on the floor and once again got a negative reply. " you must be wrong, I've never seen that item etc, etc, etc. Does each individual store stock certain articles, even if they are on the site when I search the store on the site? Or do the staff simply not put stock out ?I'm not doing this again.....I drive 60 miles to go there......no more.P.A. sucks!

I hate that we get no flyers any more and that the check out tills have been reduced to one sometimes two. This store in Midland was a very busy friendly store now it is certainly not busy like it was and not as convenient I do not use self checkouts. This has eliminated jobs you want us to check are selves out bag our own and bring in our own bag and the prices have all sky rocketed! Cameron who works at GT Woodlawn Dartmouth, NS told my 78 year old mother to "Jesus Christ wait a minute" when she tried to hand him her white top as the belt was dirty and she did nt want to set it down on belt. he was talking to coworker beside him when my mom held up the top for him to take it from her hand. I told him I cant believe he just said that and he replied "Jesus Christ Jesus Christ Jesus Christ and you go to checkout #3 cause im not waiting on you. I ordered 2 Debbie Travis outdoor carpets online on Saturday. I did that because they only had 1 in store are Ellice & Donald, Winnipeg. I NEED them for my new apartment's balcony. I was told they'd be in by Thursday and that they couldn't be shipped to the store I regularly shop at. Here it is Friday, no carpets. I called GT customer service and left a call-back at 1:15... Now 5:30... No call-back. I also ordered sofa covers from Amazon today. They say it'll come Wednesday... They'll probably come Tuesday.Giant Tiger's online ordering system just can't compete. Maybe if you can have it delivered to the store... But that wasn't available for these items... “Frustrating!”
I placed an online order from Giant Tiger. It took a lot longer to arrive than it should reasonably have taken, which was already annoying. But the kicker is that the item, a rechargeable car vacuum, doesn't work. The battery indicates a full charge, but I get nothing when I switch it on. Nothing. I've sent two emails to the customer service department. No reply. I've phoned the customer service number. No answer. Left a call back message as it requested. No call back. “Sales Items NEVER In Stock”
I used to check Giant Tiger flyers weekly, run to the store for my items. Not anymore... the items they advertise for sale are never in stock. Sure, they tell you they sold out but when you get there half hour after open something should be there. One time Roast were on sale, the Ajax store showed 15 in Stock yet when I got there nothing. I asked the store staff, and they said sold out, yet when I pointed out that online they said 15 were in store they restocked the items. It is a turn off, the flyers/Sale items mean nothing. Customers don't show up to have to beg for the items you advertise yet keep hidden in the back. Tip for consumers:If you advertise a sale order enough to stock the shelves. Last week they advertised Mixed nuts $12.99 limit 3 per customer. “Poor service”
There are several G tiger stores within a maximum of 1.5 hrs from my house. I recently had a surgery and could not drive. I ordered online and requested delivery very. Recieved email stating order was on the way April 18/23. Tracking number does nothing. Was due to arrive on April 20/23. When it did not arrive I contacted delivery service. No human to speak to. Same as G.Tiger, apparently. 2 Emails from delivery service so far and they still say they haven't recieved order request. No estimate as to when, if ever, I will receive my order. Items were "in stock" online and in store. These items would have taken 5minutes maximum to shelf pick. 20 minutes max to deliver from nearest retail location. It is now 4 days past the already generous time allotted for the first delivery date. Completely incompetent performance and extremely inefficient. They only got 1 star because you "have to" click in order to file the comment. “Should be renamed to Giant Sweat Shop”
I will never shop at any Giant Tiger location every again. Yesterday I went to the Whitby location and the power was out. I was speaking with one of the employees and learned from the person that they're forced to work their entire shift while the power is out. How are these human beings supposed to work in the dark, with no air conditioning when it's hot and humid outdoors. Not to mention, how are they to use the facilities in the dark. Apparently, this is the second time this year they've had to work their entire shift in the dark. They were also held hostage with the wind storm a few weeks ago. Please boycott all locations as they clearly do not respect their employees. It should be called Giant Sweat Shop!

Had a curbside pickup on may 1st. 2021 After 20 min of calling and text I went in to customer service. The lady there said she's busy and cannot help me. I asked her what should I do. “Massager delivery”
Ordered a massager i saw recommed on tv and I ordered it on December 29th. It is now Jan 4th and I just received an e mail from the company that delivers their orders who don't even have a delivery date yet. I e mailed giant tiger customer service last week. No reply. I will never order anything from this store again. 1 out of ten and that is because at least I know I will eventually receive it.

Recently, I was in the Guelph Giant Tiger store. While standing on a checkout line, a group of people was harassed by screaming Giant Tiger employees shouting at us, telling us to get on the self checkout line. It was unpleasant, and I will no longer shop at Giant Tiger. It has become too stressful and irritating.

Hello On a recent visit to the Napanee store, there was a huge line-up of customers waiting in line. The self check out where full. After standing in line for 20 plus minutes I shouted out " How about a second cashier". What I took for a some kind of middle management type came over and lectured me on my rude behaviour. Then he went on to explain that he had two employees that booked off for funeral and he couldn't find replacements.I asked if he was we qualified to run a cash register, which he replied no. 1. I don't appreciate being lectured to. 2. Management are so worried about profit that they wouldn't have a relief employee or and extra employee that could fill in, given that's it's the business busiest time of year. Christmas. 3. What ever happened to management being able to pitch in and fill a position when needed, thing of the past I guess. You have lost a long time customer with this substandard service. P. “False advertising”
Giant tiger on pembina has one rack with plain colours tank tops. On the rack it was labeled 3 for $9. Once I waited in the cashier line (which took too long as they did not have the staff for more than 2 cash registers) my product didn't scan right so I corrected the cashier. They paged someone who never came. Then they went to get someone for that person to tell me the short tanks are on sale not the long tanks… they must have been mixed together as I only saw the one rack with the sign that said 3 for $9. Something is seriously wrong with the staff at lindsay's giant tiger store. Most are rude and NOT helpful in the least especially at the self checkout! I bought items online for 56$. It was a pair of boots and a light coat. They sent me an undershirt i did not order. They mixed my order with someone else. They seemed to work on the problem to finally ignore my emails after two months. They lacked of clerks. No Giant tiger store would refund my online order because it was an order sent to my home and it was without any of the items listed in the package. I began to resolve the issue with my credit card but on the last day i was about to give up Giant Tiger finally refunded me and added a gift voucher of 15$ to spend in the store. I would advise to avoid ordering straight from Giant Tiger to your home unless you are a gambler. I made another purchase online from Giant Tiger to my house and it had errors again. They sent me an electrical extension cord that had one outlet instead of 3. I had to go back and fourth to the store i wrote to the company as well to explain my problem and they gave me again a 15 $ voucher for my trouble. At least they are fair.. I purchased drapes and a curtain rod online - I received just the drapes but was charged for both -- I called customer service they did an inquiry and said oh we don't have the rod and we will refund you - I had to call to advise them of this - they said another store would be shipping the rod but we don't know if they have it - the person i spoke to said she will call the store which is when they found out they didnt have it Now I have to WAIT 7-10 days for a refund- You took my money right away before the product shipped - why not refund me right away I received an email that said we will not charge you until the items have shipped - the girl said oh because one of your items shipped we bill you for everything. I ordered the Chevron Console Table with 2 drawers. I processed an order online because they did not have it in stores, far enough. Had to order 3 times. First they took the money from the card I gave them and reversed the charges back don't know way (called my bank and all was good) The second time I never got my confirmation email. The 3rd time I had someone on the phone with me, because it now showed low stock. I ask her to check the warehouse for stock. She assured me they had one and it would be sent out ASAP. They gave me what ever they had left in the warehouse including scraps from another units. And the box was taped all around the box and the inserts smashed it looked like another snowstorm when i was pulling items out of the box. With this being a Canadian company and me ordering from Canada you would think the order and item would be mint. And the worst part is they never answer the phone at Customer service maybe Giant Tiger could hire some more staff to help with the overflow of call. You leave a message in my case I was very upset and they never call you back. It has now been 2 1/2 hours and still no call. My frustration just gets worst we will see what happens tonight or when they call back. NEVER ORDER FROM GIANT TIGER YOU JUST GET THEIR LEFT OVER PARTS
