Is gerarddarel.com Legit?

I have ordered many times online and everything has arrived quickly, beautifully packaged and as depicted in photos. Quality as expected. I read all these negative reviews and felt I needed to give a positive one, as I have bought the brand for around 6 years, both from John Lewis and direct online from GD. I always buy a size up, especially with trousers, but the brand is still my go to for occasion wear, jackets and cashmere.

Gerald Darel makes elegant clothing with beautiful fabrics. That wouldn't be enough, however if the service weren't great. My orders have arrived in a timely fashion and the one time there was a hiccup with a return they responded to my questions and resolved the issue.

Having read the reviews, I was hesitant to order the coat I wanted. But after some consideration I took the risk. The package arrived within the timeframe (max 5 business days), even a day earlier than was estimated in the tracking info. I love the coat, it is soft, comfortable and really my size (I often have no choice but to order online because they generally don’t put the smallest sizes in physical stores).

I bought jeans Ava for 120€ and I returned them because they didn`t fit. They received package back on 3.9.2024 and after 21 working day response time quoted on, they site, I didn’t receive refund or anything from them. So, I tried to contact customer support by phone, but it went straight to voice mail. Then I wrote an email on 27.9.2024 explaining the situation with all the necessary information. They responded on 30.9.2024 demanding more information, after that they escalated my inquiry to the appropriate department (8.10.2024). Since then, I haven´t heard from them at all.

Fast delivery on a blazer I ordered. Sadly it didn't fit and I had to return it. Having read all the terrible reviews, and not being able to contact customer services via phone (it does just go to voicemail) I was prepared for a painful returns process and did not expect a response to my email. However, very pleased to have received a response within a couple of hours, advising the delivery note can be used instead of printing out the non-existent returns form (as others have noted). I returned the blazer, and received an acknowledgment email on the same day. Later that day I received another email advising my refund had been processed. The money hasn't been credited yet, but I know this typically takes a few days. Delivery, communication and refund process have all been flawless. Thank you!

I HAVEN’T RECEIVED AN ANSWERITS VERY COMPLICATED TO RETURN A PIECE FROM YOU. The information on the form that arrived in the box doesn’t match the information on your website, which also doesn’t match the information on Global-e return service. Terrible!

I complained here before, but after I kept on mailing them, I got my refund. I have bought more Anna trousers which are the best.

I spent more than 300 euros in this shop and I wanted to return one article and they categorically refused to give my money back but instead just gave me a voucher to spent writhing 6 months. Ordered online. It took over one week for the delivery to arrive. Requested refund. No one responding. Called the customer service for advice. No one picking up the line. Emailed. No one responding. Non existing customer service. Spent GBP350 on blazer. I bought three items as potential Christmas gifts for my sister. One item worked. I tried to return the other two, within two weeks of purchase, unworn with the tags still on. Apparently the items were on sale, so no returns were accepted. I would not purchase clothing online without the reasonable expectation of being able to return/exchange items that don't work. I would not recommend taking the risk of shopping with this company.

Received my order today but trousers do not fit. No customer service. Automated email giving phone number which does not work. No return slip in parcel. I have always loved this brand but can not believe there seems no way to return parcel. So disappointing. Please help order GDUE327062 as would like to return and get refund!

Until about 3 years ago they had very nice long wrap dresses that fitted very well. I don't know what happened but the new collections are really ugly, and the sizes no longer fit accordingly For example a dress size 42 today, doesn't match the same 42 size from 2 years ago. I am very disappointed with Gerard Darel new collections, they look cheap.

Don't ever buy from Gerard Darel online store. They are completely unprofessional!I bought 2 coats and I need the return document as they didn't even activate my shopping account. Nobody answers, they even lied that they sent me the documents after they send me to Global e, their partner for transport.i have never seen something like this before.I wasted hundreds of hours with calling and writing them with no feed back. It is like a dark circle.NEVER buy from them again!!!!

Bad quality of material, I ordered Saleha coat (cotton, wool, alpaca,polyamide), the order arrived as a cheap second-hand product, not brand new, smelly and dirty.For the brand like Gerard Darel, which promoting high luxury french traditional clothing marque I expected so so much more, particularly given the price range of the same. Lesson learned -never again.

As a long term Gerard Darel customer in London for over 20 years I have never been so disappointed in the poor customer service with my recent online order GDUE375509.I purchased x2 items costing £552.00 and returned both items in the same DHL parcel as requested by GD which cost me over £40.00 to return.GD refunded x1 item £165 however they didn’t refund the other item £387.00.I emailed them to receive a response that they didn’t receive the other item.I have sent further emails since 27th August 2024 and provided proof of return and the paperwork GD requested in their return policy.It seems that GD are not forthcoming in refunding the other item which was returned.I wish I had read the negative reviews before ordering the items as it appears there is a serious issue with GD.I am hoping someone within management in Gerard Darel reads this review as I would have thought in the current climate of retail sales suffering, GD would want to ensure their customers especially loyal ones would remain so.If I do not receive the refund I will be taking this matter further.

First there is no return label in the package. Sent back the fress on the same week arrived now is more than 1 month I still not received the refund. Sent 3 emails to the customer service only have a replied this has been updated, but no more news n no refund. Their items are beautiful I brought clothes belt shoes always from their retails in Luxembourg. The governance in refund is horrible - will share these experiences with friends and work colleagues very disappointed with the brand.

Absolutely ridiculous trading standards. Can’t find a way to return an online purchase. The London shop won’t help and the only customer service number is in France and permanently on answering machine. The email I sent received a reply redirecting me to the returns page which didn’t work in the first place. Woeful. I am surprised they are allowed to trade in the UK on that basis.

Be aware that if you purchase on line from Gerard Darrel, unlike any other online store, they do not include return note with their package or any clear instructions on how to return. This should be made clear at the time of purchasing on line. it’s impossible to return without making arrangements for your self which looks like it can be expensive. I contacted them by their contact site but have had an email back saying they are experiencing difficulties! I will probably have to give up!

Quite apart from the beautifully made clothes which are cut and made from the best fabrics, customer service is also exemplary (Jessica) I cannot fault the products or the service from the Gerard Darel company that I have been using for years.
