game.co.uk Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives game.co.uk one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 90.7. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 90.7 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to game.co.uk's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a secure website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning game.co.uk, let's look closer at the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between game.co.uk and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of game.co.uk. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of game.co.uk, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. game.co.uk is an authentic, safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether game.co.uk has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether game.co.uk boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, game.co.uk.

The company is a huge scammer! I have £9.12 of unused Elite Membership & I was informed via email on 17th July 2024 that my Value Guarantee for my unused Game Membership entitles me to £23.68 which will be credited to my account that means I should have a total of £32.80 of credit to use however I've sent email after email asking for my credit to be applied (it was meant to be done automatically) & the Game Membership is closing on 31st July 2024 yet none of my tickets have been responded! I know after 31st I will be simply informed that unfortunately it's too late. The Company is a huge scammer & I have reported them to the ombudsman! My Game ticket number is 12494825
Sad to see game on its last leg but I do enjoy going there to get my funko pops they sell loads off cool ones and buyed loads in the past plus even got a £5 pound pop from the Chatham shop that made my day If u was think about getting video games from there shop wouldn't recommend but if u want a funko then I would say take a look and u may be Surprised what they got on offer for u4/5 is my rating
Best and top class UK games retailer.Sad to see main GAME stores closed and merged with Sports Direct stores. Though fitting as they're both life entertainment retailers.Software store is outstanding too.
The Customer service is so bad, I cannot believe this is the same company as even 10 years ago. Long story short I had an issue with a games console I ordered, it arrived in poor condition and the disc tray would sometimes not take the disc automatically. The controller thumbsticks were behaving erratically too so I contacted via live chat. I was told to take pictures and send a video via email.I did this and a week has gone by without any response, I decided to contact again via Live chat, it took absolutely ages to get connected and when I finally did I got through to someone called Dane who was incredibly rude. Right from the off he gave me the impression of someone who couldn't care less. I asked him why I hadn't received any response to my email, he responded he doesn't know but also it's not relevant which I thought was a bizarre response.I then queried what I should do regarding my intermittently faulty item, he said he doesn't know. I asked if they had a replacement as I would prefer a replacement to a refund. He responded he doesn't know if they have any.I asked him what else can be done if anything, I was concerned about sending it back for a refund as I paid partly with reward points which are being discontinued and so I might lose these, I also asked if my delivery charges would be refunded, he said no they wouldn't which made me think perhaps I should just keep the item for now as it still has warranty.I had not made any decision yet but he then randomly said I've emailed you a returns label and cut me off!Such a bizarre chat and I don't know how Game could hire such a person unless they want to go out of business. So now I have to contact them AGAIN as I would like them to confirm whether or not I can get a replacement rather than refund, whether I will lose my reward points and whether I will receive any kind of postage refund. Dane has completely wasted my time and damaged Game's reputation further in my eyes.
I had a lovely experience with a young lad at the Game store on Wheatley Hall Road in Doncaster. I’m not too sure what his name was but I think it might have been Kieran. He was nothing but helpful and patient when helping me find a specific game I wanted to buy for my dad, and when I’d found out my dad already had the one I’d bought he was more than willing to go and search for other options for me.
Simple on line ordering experience. Product delivered on time, regular updates on delivery timeline. Well packaged. Lego set is a birthday gift so unable to comment further. I'm sure my grandson will love it.
I use the Corby branch they are great and actually really into gaming as well. They are always helpful and eager to help!
Had the child's 11th party here. 12 kids. David set everythin up.. place looked great. Nothing was a problem. Brilliant with the kids, stress free. Highly recommend for a party or another activity for kids and big kids to meet
I was looking at the lego for girls when an employee asked if he could help ,I asked him about the lego he told me it was very popular and sells quickly. I also asked if he could check my game card, unfortunately it wouldn't work, but he did ask if I would like a new one which he sorted it out straight away for me He was very pleasant, helpful and knew about the products in the shop.
Despite having ordered in store before and had no troubles with it, I was almost about to avoid ordering from their site due to a lot of negative reviews. But I bought a club mocchi mocchi plush (that are usually pretty expensive) for a good price, and it got here the next day with no issues. Would definitely order from their website again.
DO NOT BUY FROM GAME. Shocking customer service and no phone line to have a conversation with anyone. On 2 occasions i had to send back items form my sons PS5 that were under manufacturers warranty. One was a controller and that took over 1 month to get back and the other was a PS5 and after maybe 30 emails and another month, i ended up with a refund which i now cannot buy another console with as its no longer on offer. No complaints line or service you just get a different customer service person each time so have to go over the story all over again as they don't read threads. They first tried to refund me £70 less than I paid for it. I still don't have the refund so have no idea what i am being sent. steer clear
Good, friendly sales assistant. I cant remember their name. But they were nice and also recommended some other games similar to the game i bought that i would probably enjoy
I ordered an item to be collected at Bristol Merchant Street store which they are claiming that never arrived at the store. I now need to wait as Game quote "up to ten working days as standard (and can take longer in some instances" for them to investigate. I am stuck with no item and out of pocket. Service is a joke.
Shelves attractively stacked for relatively small but variety toy/merch range. The small Lego range alone is pretty impressive.Staff member was very friendly (working alone), for processing my purchase, and briefly chat with each other.
Staff we’re very help full needed to pre order F1 2024 I don’t do online the nearest online I do is hanging out the washing to many Scams going about for my liking plus on the way out I spotted F1 radio control cars purchased one it ways reduced in price ( for my Grandson!!)so I was a very happy customer thanks regards 🏁🏎
Lady claiming to be the manager was very rude to us refused to do a refund even though I told her the item was not compatible with the xbox she tried to get us to upgrade to a more expensive option. Making it seem like that was our only choice. She was rude about one of the other stores implying that they didn't know how to do their job and she was better then them and had more knowledge. She was abrupt and argumentive. No customer services skills what so ever. Will never go in to the house of Fraser game again.
No problem with Game as such, but the delivery was terrible. I saw the van pull up opposite (a post office). I opened my door ready for when he came out. He came out, got back into his van, then drove off to an alternative delivery point, left the parcel there and then I received the email to say he had attempted to deliver but there was no answer. A blatant lie! I was literally stood on the opposite side of the road to him, on a one way street, with the door open to speed up the delivery for him. I phoned the company to complain, and they said they wouldn't do anything and that I would have to collect from the alternate location. I don't expect to be charged for delivery and then have to collect myself, when I was at the point of delivery stated. I replied to an email from Game, but have had no response.
Customer service is good however depending on who you get at the till can either make your day or just bring you down. When i’ve attended I think the staff were a little stressed. Online service is quick and easy to work with the app. However I’d like to see more store interactions rather than a push for online. Hopefully they sorted it all out
Selling pre owned games makes gaming affordable for myself and allows me to enjoy games at my own pace. Customer service is great as staff are always up for a chat about gaming and helping above and beyond
Arrived very quickly and support helped prior to the purchase. Getting the help I didn't was difficult though. The support area of the website just goes in a loop with no contact form / email. I had to find the support email through Google.

“Awful truly Awful customer service”

If you are considering buying anything from this company see how easy it is to contact their customer service team. This should put you off straight away. I can't tell you what I really think as there would be too many expletives Tip for consumers:I wouldn't recommend using them Products used:None- cancelled the order because they hadn't delivered in time and still awaiting a refund two months after the order Service Value Shipping Returns

“Premium Next Day Delivery before 12pm took 3 days”

Paid for Premium Next Day Delivery before 12pm, but my order will apparently arrive 3 days after I ordered. Game are not responding when I ask for a refund of the premium delivery cost. They just don't seem to know how to do orders online

“DO NOT USE ONLINE TRADE IN...”

DO Not use online trade-in... Sent off 6 games for trade, got an email to say one of the games was not UK made. Rubbish, I actually bought this particular game in my local Game store. They refused to give me money for the game and refused to return it. I won't be using this service again, sell on ebay or Amazon instead.

“No refund for phone which arrived damaged”

Please don't buy from this company I brought a phone which arrived damaged sent it back with a cost to me of £7.50 postage to be told that I had damaged the phone absolutely disgusting I've now got to take legal action. Do your self a favour and stay away

“Mac games”

Paid game.co.uk for a Mac game got the code, but there is nowhere to input into the web page, contacted them, Nathan who I was talking to clearly did not what he was doing or they could not handle games for Mac's he could not come up with a way to make it work, no money back, so don't go to them for anything Mac, There are just a bunch of crooks. Tip for consumers:Don't go near them Products used:Nothing Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Terrible experience”

Refused to cancel an order made in error, was told I have to wait for delivery and if I still don't want to then return the items. Copy pasted responses from web chat and no response from email contact. Will never order from website again terrible experience!

“VERY RUDE STAFF”

I have recently made a purchase of a gaming chair from another retailer but I visited my local Game store in London to seek advice. Game sell gaming chairs on their website. I was particularly interested in purchasing a BraZen Gaming Chair since my research had indicated that these were the best chairs to buy. Game stores are relatively small so I was not surprised to be advised that they held no stock locally. However, I was surprised by the total lack of any knowledge about the products they sell and the very dismissive reaction to my interest in buying a gaming chair. I was simply advised to go online. Very unprofessional and rude.

“Nice Website”

The user experience is commendable but it could be better. There were hassles and I made payment online which they didn't receive because of site bugs. So the game pads I paid for they couldn't recover. I recovered that payment through crown oak tech Service Value Shipping Returns

“Terrible and unpleasant experience”

Well... i don't even want to give them any point, I have asked them to cancel my order month ago, and did not get even one piece of reply. And now I asked them to not do the shipping, and they ignored my letters! Please think more than twice before you do the order. And... they say they offer many ways to contact them, but actually they do not even read the messages either on Instagram or Facebook, oh, and also, they say the customers could contact them by this email *******@game.co.uk But nah, maybe it is a fake address? You would not get anything from this mail box. Anyway, not recommended, there are a lot of game stores, it is not necessary to get games from this one.

“Terrible customer service”

They have no way to call or email the store to see if they have items in stock or if your order comes in they don't contact you by email or phone and you can't contact them so if you wanted to find out if an item was in you'd have to keep going into the store. This isn't the dark ages that's prehistoric. This is the modern age. Sort it out. Poor poor higher Management decision.

“I'd give 0 stars if possible”

Made me wait over 5 hours for a PS5 in a queue. Finally got to checkout, console only was sold out so had to get a bundle, once I paid and order confirmation came through email I got a second email cancelling my order. Security problem? My personal card, my registered address, my email and my telephone. How can it fail? I've used Game for years but no longer a fan. They've upset alot of people today and this is going to cost them in the long term. 0 Stars.

“Preorder My ***”

That's the second time I've had to deal with this guy in the Game at Clydebank. It's awful customer service in my opinion. I asked if they had an "edition" of a game and they said oh that's "Preorder exclusive" Lies. You wanna know why? I got the game no problem on the Nintendo Eshop a week after the game came out and even funnier that I got the preorder bonuses as it was a digital version. The edition that I asked for. It's also on Amazon and other sites as well. I seen some behind the guy and I told him look there's stuff there. He said oh sorry that's for "preorder people" Your talking a load of rubbish because the game has been out for a week and you keep preorders for 2 days or 48 hours. Your just keeping it to yourselves really. The guy gave some cheek too with his tone of voice. I do not recommend going to Game as this incident has happened twice.

“To me, I think this website is very good and helpful...”

To me, I think this website is very good and helpful because I have bought numerous games, a few game consoles and even pre-ordered Gran Turismo 5 (when it came out in 2010). Their shipping was really fast and well packaged. You can also get a very good deals when you trade in your old games or consoles and you can put your money or points towards a new game/console. Recently, they have started to bring out smartphones and tablets at quite a good price (whether if they are new or used). I would definitely recommend this to a friend or a family member.

“Truthfully review”

Game website is very clear and easy to use and offers a wealth of games and computing goods to buy and with free devlivery and reward points when you spend what's not to like? Apart from the over priced products the site is very well rounded and appealing. Game website isn't usually one you would go to get a good deal.

“Poor service no telephone number”

Ordered my item on the 10th December, I emailed to cancel on 22nd due to no comms only to be told it was on its way. Returned item on 31st Dec. Took over a month to refund, despite many emails, I had few responses. I decided to email CEO (twice)(Martyn Gibbs AKA Mickey Mouse), never replied. The man and his organisation is a waste of space. Avoid! Tip for consumers:Go elsewhere Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Garbage Store”

Keep away from this store. Very poor customer service. Bought a gaming headset for my son from the bullring Birmingham store. Took it back straightaway as it was faulty. The store manager was very rude and racist. He just accused me of damaging it. I will stick to Amazon. Dr A El-Modir

“Misleading website, 3 for 2 is actually 3 for 3”

I tried to purchase 3 games from their 3 for 2 section witch states "3 for 2 Mix and Match", but when I went to check out, the discount was not applying. I asked customer services and the representative sayd the games have to be sold by GAME and not third party retailers. So even though they are in the 3 for 2 section, it does not matter. You are still paying full price unless you are lucky to find all 3 items are sold by the same retailer. By the way you have no way of knowing witch retailer sells witch game until you go to checkout. What a bunch of bull...

“Poor customer service and stole my money”

Ordered a PS5 from GAME. Royal mail delivered it to the wrong address and it has since gone missing hence royal mail lost it. As I paid for priority insured delivery I contacted GAME. There is no phone number only there terrible email service. In the mean time I have been dealing with royal mail complaints who have taken full responsibility for my lost PS5. Any other company it would be easy you just phone speak to someone they contact royal mail put in a claim and send me a replacement ment. But no not GAME. After a week I get a email back saying its not there problem contact royal mail. So I phone royal mail and the consumer advice bureau and they both said it is GAMES responsibility to contact royal mail and as royal mail have accepted responsibility for the loss it is just a simple case of sending a replacement. I emailed GAME back and yet a week later no reply. Tip for consumers:Don't please avoid Products used:Video games Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RETURNS”

BAD RETURNS DEPARTMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! I would leave 0 stars if I could! I recently bought a PowerA Fusion Pro Wireless controller from game for my boyfriend, within a couple of days I decided to return the product as it was not the right feel for him, he did not use controller he only opened it for inspection. I tried to return the product through their "14day right to change your mind" policy, where it states the product can be opened for inspection but not used, which is what happened. I have been talking with game over the last 2 weeks as there returns department rejected my return claiming it had been used when it had not! Game have also refused to refund me the money I paid to send the return that was rejected on false pretences! I will no longer use GAME to order my products online. Extremely dissatisfied with how they have approached this matter! Tip for consumers:DON’T Products used:None were used Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Very poor customer service”

I bought a pre-owned Bayonetta 2 + Bayonetta, but when I opened the case, the Bayonetta download code wasn't there. I contacted the customer service, the guy argued that there is this little Note saying "Preowned versions may not include additional content", and therefore they can't do anything about it since I broke the seal and opened the game case. But the thing is, the product title clearly suggests "Bayonetta 2 + Bayonetta", and the product description clearly says "Includes a download code for Bayonetta 1" And there's no way for me to know what "additional content" meant before buying the game. Because what's included should be included, any "additional content" should be things additional to the advertised content. If the note had said, "Bayonetta 1 DLC is NOT included in the pre-owned version", then I'd understand and I wouldn't have bought the product in the first place. Now I am stuck with a product that does me no good and wasted my money. Very disappointed!

“Staggeringly poor Customer Service”

I bought a game for my daughter in-store that was marked as reduced to £9.99, only to be charged £19.99 at the till because staff had forgotten to take the 'reduced' sticker off. There was no member of staff senior enough to take a commonsense decision to charge the advertised price (as a matter of good customer service) and I was told to raise the issue with Customer Services online. Oh boy! In an exchange of emails there was not one single acknowledgement by them that displaying the wrong price was poor practice, just an insistence that the law is on their side because the error was realised (only after being pointed out to staff by me) before the purchase was made. Despite my emails to them being courteous, I was told that I wanted them to conform to my rules, but that they had to follow their policy (despite not telling me what their policy is, other than - apparently - preferencing their legal protections over positive customer service and politeness!). According to GAME Customer Service, not reimbursing a customer for the difference between the price charged and the price advertised is "a matter of principle and fairness". Staggering!

“Unethical and unprofessional and untrustworthy”

Arranged to pick up a x box one series x in meadowhall Sheffield with manager Dan Upon arrival was told the agreed amount had increased by 150pds Wasted my time and also disappointed son Cannot find words to describe what a set up Tried ringing Cust service to no avail Have since seen all the terrible reviews Tip for consumers:Avoid are ask for it in writing do not trust them Products used:None Service Value Quality

“A steaming pile of Cow dung”

Absolutely f****** woeful business to deal with. Screwed up a PS5 pre order. No contact telephone number, no live chat, no email replies and the sh*ttest web page known to man.

“Absolutely rubbish”

I ordered phone on 19th of April and still have delivered! I can't contact them to get my money back. I would not recommend to anyone buy something for them!

“Poor customer service wrong product”

I Purchased a new nitendo switch for my daughters for Xmas it arrived at the end of November but was the incorrect model I complaind a got a reply today the 17th Dec telling me to send it back by post yeah like that would get to me for Xmas day I have two girls so got the brighter colour controllers red & blue they sent a grey edition very poor service Terry farlow I sent you an email

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.

If you own game.co.uk, we’d love to hear from you. If you'd like to challenge the trust score we’ve assigned, we’re happy to take a closer look. However, please be prepared to provide solid proof of your business's legitimacy. Introduce yourself with your name (not just "Admin").

When domain owners contact us to dispute their trust score, we kindly ask for the following:

* Business documentation that verifies your legitimacy (e.g., certificate of incorporation, business registration, or official records with the site or business name).

* Your personal LinkedIn profile and the business's social media accounts (e.g., Facebook).

* If available, proof of satisfied customers (e.g., screenshots, not just testimonials on your website), evidence of inventory, or records of handling order cancellations properly.

We’re more than willing to update your review based on the evidence you provide—the more proof, the higher your trust score. Please note, however, that we cannot verify non-operational websites or those redirected to other URLs. Additionally, we do not verify websites involved in high-risk financial services, gambling, adult content, or illegal activities.

Please send the following via email to [email protected].
