Is erste.hu Legit?

Its ok, been using the services for 10 yrs

Customer handled well on issues. It's a bank, you handled me as a real customer, we can arrange things we both like. Mobil app is working well, NFC (mobile) payment is reliable.

It is sad that I can't leave zero star, because Erste Investment in Hungary is such a horrible service. The web and mobile app is straight from the 90s, the fees are very high. I don't recommend it, use Lightyear instead for TBSZ accounts in Hungary.

It’s a Good bank but employees are not cooperative and George app is bit slow if your transfer foreign currency it takes longer than usual banks

No proper connection e mail or phone.Bank service transfair pension is missing-hungary-canada.even properly set on IBAN.Hungarian embassy will be notify .Pension transfar missing,all bank fee are paid,all forms are sent in time

Credit card expired December 2023 and after numerous phonecalls sending, blocking, resending, blocking, resending no longer possible, go to branch ask for one and wait until god knows when. Anyway, still no card end of February. It seem surreal to get such a bad service. I work with Banks all over the world including Africa and LatAm and I can assure there is no bank reaching the same lows as ERSTE BANK ZRT. An absolute shameful experience.

My access to Netbroker was limited without a reason, nobody contacted me, nobody sent a letter. Tried to reach Erste Investment support team for more than 2 weeks by sending emails to their official address info at ersteinvestment.hu (13th, 17th, 23rd and twice on 31rd of March). No answers. Avoid this organization.

Forced to ERSTE after takeover from CitiBank. Going from an excellent experience to the ultimate banking nightmare. STAY AWAY! FX transactions are priced at an incredible high level. there are numerous capitol controls, so taking more than a certain amount in cash will cost you a hefty sum. The Georgi APP is a complete joke! The helpdesk..what helpdesk? Due to my work in finance, I deal with over 20 banks worldwide and ERSTE BANK is by far the worst experience I have had in the past 25 years!

Erste in Hungary has had some grave issues with its George app; it's down at least once a month, inefficient, and there has been no sign of improvement for the last year. However, they don't miss a chance to bother me with loan-related marketing calls.Due to the never-ending technical breakdowns, I'm planning to leave Erste

After waiting for a new credit card and pin code for more than 2 months and having visited the Erste Bank in Mammut Shopping Center 3 times and received zero help, I have now given up. I have ordered a new credit card from my home country instead. The homebanking system, the hotline and the ATM are not of much help. The english version doesn't have the right options for activating a new card. Sorry Erste guys, but my experience with your bank is awful.

First of all, they charge for every transaction. Cash Withdrawal, PIN change, Online money transfer, for giving the bank card, for taking back the bank card, for closing the account. Its pathetic. You lose more money if you open the account in Erste. Could you belive they charge 10000 HUF to close the account? Around 5K for taking the card back, 5 K for closing the account.. Ridiculous.. Strongly recommend not to bank with Erste.

Customer service is way below the expected western norms. I tried to transfer some money to another Hungarian bank account. Took me 2 days and a lot of frustration. The beneficiary might be the issue. The response was kicking me out of the system citing server issues.Calling them by phone is impossible. You have millions of choices and if you make a mistake you have to start all over again. I think the root is in Hungary s communist heritage. The people hate their jobs and not trying to make the customers happy.

I would give 0 star.Not the first time it happened, I can not make a transfer for 2+ days neither via george web, nor george app. They have a system update.Plus the CS gives false info, that I should try on a computer, that should work. Not.The service - i would not even call it a service - is a shame, the george web/app "future of banking " is a joke.plus the "service" is expensive in general.The bank does not provide the internet service, so i have to make a transfer over the phone and they would even charge me 0,3xx% ... absolutely ridiculousi would never recommend erste to anyone

Disgusting way of banking, not just erste, all other Hungarian banks. ripping off people completely charging for things which they dont do abroad elsewhere.

Horrible experience. I went to their branches twice to open an account, you are waiting there for 1 hour or more, and then somebody comes over and tells me "sorry we do not have time today for you, we can make an appointment". Really?

Awful experience. Waiting times are extremely long while not enough employers assisting you see others just chatting or doing nothing. Also the biggest rip off charging ridiculous amounts for withdrawals, transfers. Disgusting company

If I could give zero stars I would!My old account I opened in 2001 was transitioned from Citibank into Erste and then the nightmare began.Today I have no access to my account, I don’t know the balances and now and then I get a nasty letter sent to an old address stating that one of the accounts which is in Forint is slightly overdrawn. I cant use George bc I never was given a 7 digit code bc of a foreign cell phone number (yes Erste listen up, back then when you implemented George you would not allow a cellphone from oversees!!!). I cannot login on the computer bc George is blocking everything. They are requiring ID with a chip in George App that keeps failing no matter what ID I try! Identification on the phone keeps failing bc the bank has the wrong info on file.After all I have the original documentation from the day the account was opened with Citibank and non of that info seems to match!! The worst thing no one absolutely no one can help me.I called so many times!I think they are committing fraud and are using victims who live in foreign countries.They keep saying it is a security measure by law little do they know they are destroying trust with this amateur App they are so proud of. Unbelievable.The last rep I talked to said no one will help you and your account will keep spiraling down that is literally her words!! I asked for the transcript of the call she conveniently hung up the phone!!! This is an absolute horror with Erste. I would never open an account with them, STAY AWAY and stay worry free and free!
