Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.

How To Protect Your Online Browsing From Installing Malware
We have two more powerful fraud prevention tools that you should know about. We've been asked over and over again about the most effective ways to stay safe online. After testing several fraud prevention products online, we could certainly say the winner is a browser extension called Guardio. It automatically blocks 100x more harmful websites than competitors and 10x more malicious downloads than any other security tool. It was tested and vetted by our Scam Detector team.
Guardio has over a million users, and while it is already affordable for the benefits it provides (just a few dollars a month), it covers up to 5 family members. For Scam Detector readers exclusively, Guardio offers a 20% discount this week. You can protect your online browsing from installing malware forever by clicking the button below:
How To Stop Third Parties From Tracking Your Devices
The second most powerful fraud prevention tool you should consider is Surfshark. Here is why you should get it now, as the first 5 months are free:
- They have an award-winning VPN service, protecting your privacy and preventing third parties from tracking your device.
- They will notify you when your personal info is leaked online so you can delete your private data from the Internet immediately.
- Surfshark has a super powerful antivirus program. It offers you effective protection from viruses and zero-day threats, a lightweight, clean, and easy-to-use app, and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
- Check this: They hide your online searches, which means you will get only organic search results without tracking and follow-up ads. For example, when you search for a flight, and the next time you look at the same search, the prices are higher. With Surfshark, this doesn't happen.
For the Black Friday promotion, Surfshark offers 86% off + up to 5 months free to Scam Detector readers. You can get the deal only this week HERE or by clicking the button below.

Yes, I was indeed scammed by enrichoil (closed site now) for what seemed to be a fair price for 3 stacking foldable containers for almost $40.00 Facebook has had many items advertised there that have been excellent; but the containers are not- very irresponsible of letting a scam ad run. Amazon has been excellent but did not carry these containers (which should have told me that this item was scan bait). I ordered from enrichoil; my money disappeared in 1 hour- then in 1 month the whole site and tracking left! Absolute crooks - but taught me a lesson: now I know that I will never again never again trust Facebook.
I just saw the ad again on Facebook today, 7/7/22. I was checking them out on scam detector to see if they are legit. I will not waste my money on their storage boxes. Thank you scam detector!
I guess the folding storage containers are coming: To: United States Query takes : 641 MS 2022-06-25 11:50:00 Acceptance 2022-06-26 13:51:00 WUHAN,Processed Through Facility 2022-06-26 14:06:00 WUHAN EMS,Processed Through Facility 2022-07-08 13:53:00 ISC LOS ANGELES CA (USPS),Processed Through Facility, Your item has been processed through our facility in ISC LOS ANGELES CA (USPS) at 1:53 pm on July 8, 2022. No, Chris, they are not coming. You will be getting chopsticks and a spoon...... :-(
UPDATE! After a month Enrichoil finally delivered today- straight from Wuhan, China- not the folding storage containers- oh no!! Even better!! 2 wooden chopsticks and 1 wooden spoon! I am positive that I can sell these to get my $61.00 back that I paid Enrichoil. Why that company advertises containers and sells chop sticks is crazy. Thanks a lot Facebook for running that ad. Stupidity squared :-P !
Too bad, I wish I have seen this before I placed an order... for 3 sets!!! I went back to see the discussion thread. There are only 2 people who mentioned that they got their item. In more than 1.6k comments. And after I clicked on their profile, it was obvious they are both fake profiles. Both were newly created on 6/27/2022, both posted professional photos on the same time, same date, every post. I just wish I can have a refund from PayPal.
I also received my package today with two chopsticks and a spoon. $105 chopsticks. Reported the scam to paypal.
Thank you for the info. I started to order the storage boxes but stopped and came to get re
I ordered from EnrichOil for the storage boxes, paid ~$37 They sent me a set of chopsticks, literally just wooden chopsticks. When I went to address the issue and get the boxes or a refund they asked me to go to the post office and return the item at my own expense/time suck. The item is probably worth $2 at most, so not even worth 5 minutes of my time. They offered a half refund, which I ended up taking just to get away from dealing with them again. DO NOT TRUST THEM OR ORDER FROM THEM. It was an awful waste of time and money, and a bad experience.
I ordered folding storage boxes from the Enrichoil website (https://www.enrichoil.com/?source=email) and received a plastic box thatwas just big enough to hold a plastic spoon and pair of chopsticks. I hadn't even checked the price of similar items, which are about 3 times more xpensive. BEWARE, indeed.
Scam - I stupidly purchased 2 x sets of storage boxes 24inch by 15inch by 16 inch and I received 2 x pencil case size plastic boxes containing a wooden spoon and a set of chopsticks. It took me quite a while to figure out where they came from and marry them to my purchase order via Enrichoil as there are different details on the website V the purchase order V the delivery slip. They said I could keep the chopsticks and spoon sets for a hefty 60% of my original purchase price. Dispute via PAYPAL being raised right now!
Complete scam! I ordered their boxes and $65 later got a pair of chopsticks and a spoon.
I also ordered a set of storage boxes from this website, only to receive a wooden utensil set (chop sticks and a spoon). I did get a response from the company, advising it was the shipper’s error and I would need to return the item to China. BUT they offered to refund 40% if I would just keep the utensils, which was their scam all along, I’m afraid. Makes me sad because I really wanted those storage boxes….
Did you also get this response from them? p4 TYZ Wed, Aug 10, 2:49 AM (2 days ago) to me Dear Customer, Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. According to the full refund policy, customer need to return the product they received at their own expense and ensure that the returned items are not damaged in order to obtain a full refund. The cost of shipping the product back to China is basically $ 20 or more. Therefore, it is not a good choice for you to return and get a full refund, which will waste your unnecessary shipping costs. I sincerely hope that this issue can be resolved quickly by negotiating partial compensation with you. However, I can only apply to the company for up to 50% of your total order as compensation for you. If you agree, I will refund you immediately. I hope you will consider my suggestion and look forward to your reply. Best regards CS It's a bit frustrating but I made time to report it to ReportFraud.ftc.gov, printed the report (they also have a sample letter to send to your card company), disputed the charge. Luckily, I paid with my Chase card and they did a chargeback. CHASE is the best!!!
