Is englishgrocer.ch Legit?

Delivery took a very long time and i had to chase several times to receive any kind of update.Packaging and end product were very good though.I will order from them again.

Ordered in May, they promised to deliver my goods by mid-june which is fair enough and no problem itself. Ever since, I asked about my order twice, didn‘t get any reply by e-mail or an order status update. Terrible customer service. I do wonder if I will ever receive anything from my order or hear from them. I can‘t believe I even tipped them on the first order. Should have read the reviews before. Beware of this Company! It's a big scam. My order was placed almost three months ago. Since then, no idea where the order is, they will not reply to phone or emails. The only time I managed to get a reaction was when I left a negative review a month ago, then they emailed asking if I could take down the review. After that, complete silence again despite my numerous requests for updates. So guess what. Here's another negative review. Trying to get my bank to get the money back since these despicable people will not give me a refund like I requested several times.

Ridiculous and abysmal.Order placed on 8 April, didn't hear a thing until 3 May when I contacted them. By sheer miracle a few minutes later my order status was updated.Again, haven't heard a thing, haven't received any order or communication. Their delivery calendar on their website is at best decoration, make believe (in order not say phantasy or lie) at worst.So, after 2 months I haven't got a clue whether I will ever receive anything at all, but judging by the many other lousy ratings I won't keep my breath.One way or another, it will be my first and last order here. I rather go back to my old suppliers.Update 29.06.2024: No delivery so far, no direct and personal communication so far, upon my response to an automated enquiry still nothing whatsoever.

Last Friday, after more than 3 months from the order I received the products at home. Unfortunately 8 glass jars out of 24 were broken due to the lack of adequate protection of the glass containers. No indications of “fragile”and of the correct stacking direction of the cardboard box. The English Grocer declared to be sorry for the incident and for the unusual delay in delivery and, as a compensation, proposed a store credit to be used for a future purchase. Appreciated. I will renew my trust in The English Grocer counting on a significant improvement in their shipping system. Five stars score pending…

I have used The English Grocers on a number of occasions and whilst they are always late the goods have eventually arrived. However, this time I ordered the goods 2 months ago and there is no update. I have emailed and sent Wattsapp messages but no response, so sorry guys I have to resort to this. I will also look at legal options

Like the other customers, how much I wish I had read the reviews before ordering! Of course, always the same story: I placed an order, paid for it, and ... then ... NOTHING, radio silence, despite my emails and phone calls. I am really disappointed and angry and will report this case to my legal insurance. I also plan to make this public through a consumer association.

I ordered some Bacon and crumpets at te beginning of January. Paid full by credit card for the order. Was supposed to receive the order January 23rd. Tried to contact them via email and phone and through there AI bot on ther site. Got a brief response saying they experienced a split to there orders from UK and they will pick my order soon. Max gave me a full refund on request and has offered to complete the order ASAP and get cash payment on receipt of the goods. I hope this can work as its a great concept, i guess everyone experiences teething troubles so im going to give him a chance.

Scammers and time wasters.Order placed in February, no goods received withing 3 months.No responses to emails.Refund received within 2 hours of threatening with complaint to FCAB.

Excellent service and at a price I'm happy with. Also found The English Grocer is cheaper than using Britstore or British Corner Shop - the main difference arises from customs charges - I've been routinely charged ~ CHF 70 for nothing except box opening and inspection. Also please note, these two companies won't ship meat pies and cheeses whereas The English Grocer will.

Update 26.05.24Still not heard anything. Wish I could give minus stars here. This is a company that is happy to take your money, not deliver and not follow up with their customers. The fact that the customer has to chase them to get an update or a response is laughable.***Wrote a 1 star review over two weeks ago. Got a response on the same day. Still waiting for the "customer service team" to reach out to me as mentioned. Disappointment continues...

Excellent products.Once I had the contact (WhatsApp) number, all flowed seamlessly. Very friendly service and was a pleasure to receive the top-quality products.+: Good selection, great service, delivered fresh in a well-suited box-: I didn't set a delivery time proposal but will know better next time (my fault)

Great serviceTwo orders so far. The first for Christmas was delayed but delivered in time for the festivities with a very kind gesture. The second order of delicious fresh sausages was delivered within 2 weeks. Any emails regarding the orders were dealt with in a prompt and friendly manner. Deliveries made with a smile and kind word.

Made an order end February, paid 9th March. Stopped receiving any updates after this. I asked for an update on the 15th, 22nd and eventually asked for a refund on 24th due to no responses. Update- I did receive my order and there was a problem with my requests for updates being spam filtered. I didn’t love the service or delivery times, but there were mitigating circumstances.

Maybe it was just first time blips, try again later when it's not so hectic.Communication was poor and receiving goods which had been frozen because they were overdate is not on. Also meat product was on it's last day when it arrived. Replacing products for others, without informing the customer isn't so great either. Otherwise friendly service, that's why I gave a 3 and not a 2.

Order never received. Similar situation to what I am reading. Ordered Nov. I was sent a payment link dec. Paid immediately. Nothing december. Wrote an email reminder. No response, no goods to date. I really can't be bothered to take further for the sake of approx CHF 70. My time is far too precious. Would just warn to avoid at all cost.

A simple order of some regular and always available products took 2 months and several reminders from my side to be processed. Never againAnd after your reply: I immediately ask you to remove my name from your reply. You do not have permission to publish my name.

The seller answers emails with delay, he promised a new delivery date but nothing happened. I have ordered from this seller before with no problem and I do not understand why the quality of the service degraded since the last time I have ordered.UPDATE:looks like the order has been shipped. I don't have an issue with delays, it is a widespread problem these days but I think the seller can improve the communication with clients: reply faster to e-mails and give more realistic timelines for the delivery. If it is all good with the order I would order from this seller again.

I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. I passed an order in September 2023. I amended the order to add products in October. When I contacted the company again in October to inquire about when the order would be delivered, they replied to tell me that they were having an issue ordering certain products. That was the last time I heard from them, despite writing three times (in December, January and February) and calling several times to ask for updates. (Calls and voicemails go unanswered.) This is a total scam.

Many times very confused order processing & tends to take far too long for products to arrive to my home. Quite often have to send several e-mails for them to get my order right, ----- in the end. Can be very frustrating & extremely time consuming. Range of products or obtaining products by special request quite good, if you have the time to wait.
