While some are self-explanatory concerning edp.pt, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between edp.pt and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of edp.pt. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of edp.pt, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. edp.pt is a questionable website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether edp.pt has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

I inherited EDP as my energy provider when I moved into my current Lisbon apartment 6 months ago, and during the process was told about 'EDP Smart' on the phone and how it would give me a monthly discount on my contract and some benefits. After the first full month under contract I noticed my bill was VERY high, and this continued as such despite speaking to customer service many times to understand why and being told to check all my appliances. After 6 months I started speaking to another energy provider who told me instantly that my potency was set to the highest level, usually required by commercial businesses not residential apartments. No one at EDP told me this over many calls. I changed provider and only then found out that the 'EDP Smart' package sold over the phone to me had 12 month loyalty and this was categorically, unequivocally NOT told to me over the phone when I accepted it. Terrible company practises.
I'm probably the only person on this planet who likes EDP. They've been great for me over 3 and a half years. I have paid for their additional service pack which has provided service in English. When I've needed anything repaired, someone comes fairly quickly (within a matter of hours - not days). They've never charged me for anything outside of what's included in the service pack. When I was learning my way around how to deal with electricity in Portugal, their representatives were very kind and patient.I had a billing issue when I moved house and they resolved it in a timely fashion and without any fuss. Just sent updated information and the correct (!) amount was refunded. I've dealt with electric companies in several countries and none have been this straight forward. They try to sell a health pack and have all these other services which may not be particularly useful. I believe there are better priced companies in Portugal, but I'm not sure that they come with all the service. I've been pretty happy with them so far. And I've never been happy with a utility company.
EDP has a crooked scheme going on with their EDP Smart-Pack which they automatically apply to your contract unless you otherwise catch them.In this little Smart-Pack that they add to your contract, it has a 12-month period which auto-renews until you send a note IN WRITING to cancel it.Even when you cancel it, they make you pay remaining months, even if other services are cancelled with themIts a horrible practice and not enough information are provided to consumers when they're pushed into getting this useless additionI wish I had gone to sites like Reddit and seen all about the bad practices of EDP and how much the Portuguese public hates EDP and their little tricks.
I also got caught with the EDP Smart contract sold, over the phone . Unfortunately for me they forgot to tell me that I had to cancel the contract in writing a month before the year end , so when I assumed they would contact me to renew the contract and they did not , I thought it was cancelled . Having sold the villa and not using EDP electricity this smart contract was of course utterly pointless . They refused to cancel and I have now to pay the remaining 8 months in order for it to be terminated . They cannot provide the service as I do not even live in Portugal now. Disgraceful treatment by a company after 24 years of being a loyal customer. A warning to others , check their contracts first and thoroughly before getting involved with them.
Do not Repeat DO NOT Buy solar Panels With EDP a very Expensive and Frustrating Mistake ! Bigger Bills - Very Poor Customer Service - Little attention to detail - App Does Not Work - It would be entertaining if panels were generating solar Power at night - They Know it does not work but know one will fix this - EDP is Legacy of State Run " Service " - It is now owned by 3 Gorges Energy Co. China ... - I sadly continue to waste time to correct basic in competence -
I don't know where to start and where to stop, so I'll make it short. If you get any service with them, get ready to be charged for things that do not even exist. I still remember the first bills that were over 70 euros when I wasn't even in the country and every single device in my house (including my fridge) was turned off (I try to live in an eco-friendly manner). I ended my contract with them this month and they already charged me three times in a week (and no, these are not past payments). Even their own (incompetente) customer service cannot explain the amounts they're charging.
they keep charging the same monthly amounts even when during that month you were not home, not using any electricity.also, their customer service is not transparent at all. I invite you to don't trust this company, cause including when you report their "ambiguities" to them, they just don't care.
Worst electric company in portugal! They charge what they feel like every month even if the apartment is empty for 8 months or more. They promise to come and install equipment then don’t appear and no one gives you answers. I really hope to leave this company and go with another electric company.Nobody I know is happy with edp as their electric provider
What a disgrace of an organisation. Centuries behind today’s world. One goes to a branch of edp to pay an account and they do not have MB payment facilities…. This in the 21st Century. Just unbelievable! In addition, one looks at the Client ratings and they could not be worse. And so, I can only deduct that they could not careless.
Don't buy solar panels from edp!I had solar panels and a "smart meter" installed in August and ever since my bills are double what they should be. The "smart meter" and the app don't work. I have made 3 complaints to the regulator, edp then arranged 2 visits to correct the fault but never turned up. It appears that they take no notice of the regulator. I believe that they know the "smart meter" and app have an inherent design fault, so there is no point in keeping an apointment to fix the problem.Edp should be forced to discontinue sales of solar panels and fitting "smart meters".
I had booked a technical assistance yesterday. They tried to contact me but I missed the call and then they didn't try to reach me again and the guy didn't show up and nobody called to rebook the visit. Is this a joke? I am paying monthly for this service and this is the quality of service you deliver? Very poor quality and appealing not at the level of a company that wants to be international!
Incompetence at every level along with their friend Eredes. They drove my blood pressure to the highest point before they connected me. I had to go 6 times and wait for them another 5 times to come. Now, it is the second time they turned off my meter, leaving me and my house in the dark with absolutely no way that I can turn it on remotely. When they see that there a little consumption, they create a problem in the meter that turns it off remotely and I have to pay money as if they are providing their useless service. Shame on you and your service. If there is -5, I will rate in as -5
Horrible experience!l I have been promised gas last week and so far the inspectors miss all the appointments. They just don't show up and don't care. I'm home with children and no hot water. The next appointment is in 5 days, it is the earliest, they said... let's see if the inspector shows up now.
Our experience of EDP Solar has been a disaster. We signed contracts in February for installation in May. A week in advance this was cancelled and rescheduled for July - again a week in advance it was cancelled and rescheduled for last week (early August) This new date was NOT cancelled so we had our electrician come to make the preparations - wiring, new fuse box etc. But nobody arrived, and EDP are ignoring our phone calls, emails and message left on their customer “care” site. We are in limbo, we have no idea what is going to happen and have been completely abandoned by EDP. Yet they continue to advertise their “5 Star” Solar Service. Avoid at all costs, I have never seen such an unprofessional service.
I have been trying to make a contract with EDP for some time, without success. They do not show up for their own booked technical visits, they keep putting me in the "particulares" section although it is my company doing the contract, at times they communicate to me as EDP other times as E-redes and and and..... I tried to find a way to communicate with them in writing, but I cannot. Only by phone. Smells like they do not want customers to have proof of what has been said and agreed to.Well, I have reached my limit and have now gone to another supplier. I would strongly recommend you to stay far, far away from EDP, E-redes and whatever else they call themselves these days.........
Last year I went into a store in Olhao Algarve of the N125 to ask for an appointment with an engineer around the possibility of having solar panels in our holiday home. Two months later when I returned I found out that I was jute into signing up for a health plan with EDP without me knowing. I have tried to argue that I did not knowingly sign for this plan, that I signed for an engineer to come and inspect if it was possible to have solar panels. I do not live in Portugal so why would I want Health insurance, I have travel insurance!! And the white goods ect are under guarantee. Now I am stuck with having to pay 12€ extra a month for something I will not use!Incidentally I had to cancel the appointment for the engineer because EDP had changed the inspection booking to an appointment to fit solar panels instead !! CRAZY company.DO NOT TRUST EDP especially the shop on the N125 Olhao charlatans!! The fact that 91% of reviews on this sites gives EDP 1* rating says it all. There needs to be more competition in Portugal so that EDP can be booted to the curb.
Where do I start? I would cry now, if it wasn't so laughably ridiculous to deal with EDP. To get electricity connected to our new home has been a living nightmare. Contracts can only be made online, so I hired an agent to take care of it, who was fantastic, and actually managed to jump through all the loop holes they set up. The bureaucracy is astonishing and EDP can only get away with it because they have monopoly on administrating the cobber. They scheduled us for connecting the electricity two times, two days in a row, and managed to not show up at all, and not sending any messages at all. When our agent called them, they had nothing but lame excuses, and lied about having sent messages. You almost give up settling in Portugal because of EDP alone... Unfortunately I can't give zero stars, or minus. They deserve that. And mind you, they have a profit of more than 680 million euros every year... They're a total and utterly disgrace!!! 🤬🤬🤬
I took out the EDP Full contract 3 years ago which, amongst other things is supposed to give me access to an engineer to repair electrical appliances. Last year we had a problem with a dishwasher and more recently our water boiler broke down, so in both cases I contacted EDP to organise an engineer visit. In both cases I spent hours on the phone, often being hung up on after being on hold for ages. I finally got them to agree that they would send out an engineer but the engineers either did not turn up or never bothered to call me to arrange a date. Despite being chased every day for 2 weeks we never hot an engineer for our boiler and had to get it replaced by a local electrician. Terrible, terrible service by EDP and we are going to cancel the maintenance contract as it is a waste of money.
If I could I’d give EDP NO Stars I would, on reading them reviews it is clear that the incompetence starts at the top and they just don’t give a damnLike others, I made the mistake of having solar panels fitted, what a complete waste of money, more expensive bills to have horrible panels on my roof that clearly don’t work properly, when I complained I was told that I should clean them more often, hmmm don’t remember being told I had to claim on my roof to clean them when they were fitted.Secondly, I made the mistake of having my EV Charger fitted by them, I changed cars and need the EV Box moving, 2 months later, “the internal team are looking into it” what they are looking into I have no idea, it’s a 30 minute job a monkey could do. Given the choice I would never use EDP again and if someone can advise a good alternative supplier I’d love to move.It says at the bottom, let EDP know of your review, happy to, not that it will improve their service,
After nearly 5 years with EDP whereby power service as generally been excellent I am disappointed to advise that for 2.5 years I have not had benefit from the 6 Solar panels/EDP box that was installed prior to house purchase. It took 2 years of constant phone calls and going round in circles with their solar company to eventually get engineer to attend and fix broken box (they had advised me it was working and I insisted over and over it wasn't) That was 6 months ago or more. My bills, particularly in recent sunny months have not changed and after yet more calls I'm being advised that a colleague has yet to sort differences between single phase of solar and 3 phase supply of electricity. The chap from EDP solar says he hopes to get another colleague to call me within a week...It's just soul destroying and unbelievable that EDP keep delaying and giving me the runaround. I guess it's to their advantage to have me pay month after month high bills rather than have cost saving but for me....I'm now going to investigate MEO or other supplier. I've long since had enough - now looking at alternative supplier.Update: I’ve logged complain’t with EDP and seek compensation for numerous phone calls chasing for nearly 3 years and repeatedly being told someone will call back which they never do. I have yet to receive any response and am not surprised- they’re great at sending out invoices but lack customer serviceUpdate: 16/05/23. So, after again not receiving any call back (this is the pattern for several years) I spoke to EDP who again put me through to their solar department. The chap was very helpful and I wasn't surprised that he could not find any trace of me speaking to his colleague a week earlier. He explained that, whilst he wasn't technical it could be I am getting benefit of solar panels - even when monitoring box was faulty. He could see a 'title exchange 5 years ago. However, I requested copy of contract as I don't have ANY confidence the 6 solar panels are giving me benefit from my 100+ euro monthly amount (1 person usage). He said he would investigate and 'get back to me'. Separately, today I received new contract info. from EDP to sign. 3 x PDF's with multiple pages of baloney from a 'no reply' email address...when doing a search NONE of the text contains 'Solar' within new contract. It appears to me the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. I am now in discussion with REPSOL to move away from EDP.25/05/23 No contact from EDP ref. Numerous calls to verify solar energy being produced is benefiting me rather than them. The sun is shining for weeks yet my EDP bill is increasing rather than decreasing which makes me query solar meter is ONLY an EDP scam. Rip off.Update 16/06/23. Out of the blue I received phone call advising EDP solar engineers need to install new equipment to resolve my solar issue on 16/06. 2 engineers came out and were initially uncertain why they were there but got on roof to check system (which had been checked when new control unit was installed Oct. 2022) and they advised me that 5 inverters weren’t working. Late Friday around 20:30 they finished and advised everything was now operative. However, the solar application EDP had asked me to install gave error that no solar panels were in situ? I contacted EDP again and was informed subsequently I need a new EDPReady box installed (I had one originally but EDP replaced it in Oct). So, they are coming out again on Monday 26th June to put one of these in….I’ll update further when/if it makes a difference.07/07/23 So I had the revist as planned (same 2 guys) and they sorted out the application by installing some sort of unit into the control device that was fitted in Oct. 2022. I checked the application on my iPad and can now see solar wattage being generated - yippee! After years of phoning and rebuffs plus multiple visits it now appears working. However, I was a bit disappointed that upon leaving the guys said I would need to get log a call with edp to get the panels 'cleaned' . Especially since 3 times engineers were on the roof checking/repairing. Anyway I spent 40minutes last week to get through to solar dept. only to be requested to provide my phone and someone would call me back - this has not happened thus far. Back to square one? I hope not.11/07/23 So I got phone call in the evening asking me to confirm my solar panels were now all OK. I highlighted that the engineers, as per my recorded call to edp a week before' had said there was low consumption as panels need cleaned. He then checked the 'EDP ready' status and said it wasn't working ! He said he would get another call logged. However, later that night I got a text from EDP out of the blue saying 'we have been trying to contact you please calase call us on xxxx xxxx number'. No one tried to call me since the chap earlier!
