Is daughtersofindia.net Legit?

The fabric and quality are wonderful. I wear my dress over and over again during any stage of life, including during pregnancy and it’s light, comfortable and feminine. I do think they’re quite expensive and hate that for being so expensive, they don’t do free shipping - especially considering how light the package is, I don’t imagine it should cost so much. Their returns process is terrible, not from my own experience but from someone that I referred and then felt horrible that their experience with the sizing and exchanges was so awful. That was a couple years ago so maybe that has improved though.

I really love my dress. The material is light, thin and breezy, which is great for summer days. I wear it on the weekend to go to the beach or for short trips out of the city. The quality is good and you still have the feel of handmade production which I personally find nice. The colours are very true to the website. And I love the print!

The fit is terrible, the pictures show the line going under when it actually goes across your breast. The fabric is so cheap and feels terrible.The return policy is a scam. And it cost 68$To return or a 2 month boat trip. No money back only return or exchange. The product is not what you see. The reviews are a scam.

Have had my dresses for some years now, still absolutely love them and the customer service team have been amazing! From the live chat, to Facebook messaging to all my emails. Everyone has been so very helpful and provided a lot of support! Thank you Daughters of India! I can’t wait for my next purchase to arrive!

Dear all of you at ‘Daughters of India’🌝I am utterly impressed by ‘The value chain’ of ‘Daughters of India. it is a role model for many other (small) companies eager to engage in genuine sustainable practices. From the website design, to the origin and craftmaking of the garments (it is actually more than ‘just’ a dress or a blouse, you end up embarking in a journey…), to the choice of the ‘influencers’/models, to the caring communication with customer service (Anezka and Kristen just to name a few)… and finally to my door to door delivery (4 days from Australia to my little Swiss town!), all touchpoints have been perfect! At first, I questioned the the carbon footprint🥹 and the shipping cost but knowing that the dresses makers are decently rewarded and treated, lessened this feeling of guilt.I purchased midi kyra in pepper and tangerine and 1 mini in coral. It took me forever to select because I don’t buy such dresses (the summer here lasts 5 minutes!). I usually only wear jeans, sweatpants and business suits. But ‘something’ happened with ‘Daughters of India’. but just ‘simply felt ‘right within… To note that I NEVER order online, I am curious and browse and study websites a lot, notice all the marketing strategies, but prefer face to face.Now, few points to consider:1 - It is true that the fabric is (so beautifully) light and can be very sheer but there is SO much fabric (It must be, to give this ‘fairy look and aerial sensation),it does not however compromise our women integrity… Especially if you keep in mind, as mentioned in few ‘replies’ and in the ‘product description’: the lighter the color (i.e. jade, tangerine, musk) the sheerer your dress will be. 2 - If you are moderately to heavy chested (the models/influencers do not seem to be neither 😉) keep in mind that the chest cut is extra charming but VERY low. Then you have 3 options: wearing a tank top, a bra (a pretty one) or you alter the dress.3 - I just washed the garment with cold water and extra gentle soap, NONE of the color went away. When I shop while in India most of my 100% cotton garments lose a bit of color). There is none of this with Daughters of India😊.4 - For few of us, the price point might be high, but this is nothing like an indecent pricing…and it is totally worth it i.e. cut, fabric, company ethics and mission.I am very pleased to support ‘Daughters of India’ eco system. Please carry on just as it is (NO wholesale please🙏🏼, nurture slow fashion even if we are used to get it all and quickly, pop up collections) what you do is beautiful and most importantly: meaningful.

The fit is terrible. Dress comes down halfway your breasts which makes you look fat. Material is super thin and of bad quality. Returns cost a fortune and you won’t get a refund. (They think European law does not apply since they are based in Australia. This is wrong when delivering to the EU!)Do not buy anything here.*reply to daughter of India: You could be as clear as you want about returns on your website, but if it is wrong it stays wrong. I used the sizing chart, but this did not turn out well. So be carefull using it.

beautiful breezy cotton dresses and blouses. pricy but worth it.

I have only ordered one dress that I absolutely love from daughters of India. In the meantime, I love it so much I wanted to share it with my daughter-in-law who loves the same style. Customer service was amazing and helping me understand the currency difference and my purchase for my daughter-in-laws gift card, I will be ordering again soon for a wedding. Can’t wait to choose my dress.

I originally gave company three stars in their website but down graded since they have refused to post my review. The blouse I bought has a very unflattering fit. It is too short in proportion to the fabrics fullness. I am 5’2” and slender. It cuts off at a place that gives me a wide appearance. I requested they post to help other customers. Instead they told me i should have measured properly which didn’t help since it is a matter of styling-the blouse fit. They do not give refunds and charge $15 return fee for a store credit only.Needless to say I will not be ordering from this website again.-They gave me a reply to my review that did not address my issue and still have not posted my review to their website. Downgraded to one star for their lack of transparency. I simply want them to be honest since I read reviews and rely on them for my purchase decisions. Now I check with Trustpilot which has other reviewers stating that Daughters of India has not posted their reviews as well.

Terrible quality. I realise now this is their business model. Spend lots of money on advertising, create a see-through dress that cost £5 to make, then have no returns policy (only exchange or refund via store gift card). Seriously, the quality is atrocious. Loose threads everywhere, some sections not hemmed at all and caught in the machine, transparent material. I am now stuck with an £130 dress that is unwearable. Avoid.

I received my dresses today and I couldn’t wait to open the package and try them on! However, upon closer inspection, I noticed several stray threads on my Kyra Midi Dress. Additionally, there are bright blue pen marks on the button areas of my Nora Mini Dress. I'm a bit disappointed as these dresses look amazing, but the quality of my order doesn't seem to meet the standard.I wish I could upload pictures on this site.I hope the customer services team can help me sort this out.

This company is a rip off. I am fuming. I returned a dress as I ordered a too big size and the print was not what I expected. The cost to return is not cheap. I was issued a credit note-no refunds and am now having to pay £250 plus for a dress which I assume is not of the highest quality. This company is a sham and please please don't be fooled. I am so disappointed and significantly out of pocket !!!

If I could give zero stars I would. The kyra maxi is all together see through. The material feels cheap and there is an odor to the dress. I ordered according to their size chart and the dress is incredibly small and tight across the shoulders. I wanted to love this so much and I’m incredibly disappointed. Decided to return but didn’t know they will only give store credit. I have NEVER had to investigate a stores return policy before ordering. Make sure you aware of this before ordering. Given the expense of sending back, on an already expensive dress, I find this to be bad business.

I've been wearing the stunning dresses from Daughters of India for over three years now, and I absolutely LOVE their style! The dresses are incredibly comfortable and easy to wear, featuring soft fabrics and a flowing, feminine look. With a medium bust size, I prefer to go one size up in the Kyra dresses so the seam sits a bit lower, which I find more flattering.They have a super friendly Costumer Service that helped me a lot with my requests 💝 Thank you so much 🪷

I purchased 3 of these beautiful dresses and I was so amazed by the quality and the beauty and just how flowy they are true cotton dresses. I'm 61 years old and I feel they've brought a piece of youth back to my wardrobe And I'm loving them all❣ I find it very difficult to purchase pure cotton dresses in the United States that fit a plus size person. I am a 3X and I'm so grateful that they offer that size because it fits me perfectly. I hope you will try this company it is not a scam company and I will be purchasing again soon🥰⚘❣

I've ordered three of the midi dresses now, I'm in the UK, shipping was fast with DHL and no import duty to pay, I'm assuming it's included in the price you pay on the website when purchasing. The dresses are gorgeous, so easy to wear and I always receive lots of compliments on them. So glad I took a chance ordering, my new favourite dresses! Thanks so much!

As other reviewers have mentioned, this company does not do returns for your money back. They claim this is clearly stated but only if you specifically look at their returns policy. The item is over priced. It is clear from how heavily I saw directed marketing, that they are counting on the revenue from those who make valid assumptions about being able to return the item if it does not fit/look good.

I absolutely love my dress it is beautifully designed and I love the pattern. The material is (a little see through but) very fluid making the wearer want to sway with the fabric. The team at DOI went out of their way to ensure the parcel arrived for a pre wedding dinner.

Poor quality - thin and smells funny. I ordered two dresses they are very expensive for what is cheap material and smells funny, the colours of the fabric is completely different to what they are sold as and I have just read the website properly (my stupid mistake) and you can't get a refund just store credit! which I don't want - going to have to get someone to make this into something that i can wear as currently it is basically a see through sack! READ THE SMALL PRINT YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR A REFUND! I have emailed customer services to see if they will refund me otherwise will try and sell on or get made into something else - expensive and disappointed
