craigslist.org Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives craigslist.org the absolute highest trust score on the platform: 100. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Safe. Secure. . We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this very high score? We came up with the 100 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to craigslist.org's industry. The algorithm detected no high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Safe. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we label this website as secure and trustworthy. We explain this in more detail below.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning craigslist.org, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between craigslist.org and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of craigslist.org. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of craigslist.org, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. craigslist.org is a secure website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether craigslist.org has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether craigslist.org boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, craigslist.org.

If I could give this so-called company a Zero I would have done so today. Very disorganized and they should close their doors to be honest. Many others had negative experiences with them. My advice is don't waste your time with craigslist, its a complete JOKE!
no need to continue with cl, they obviously don't have any intelligent help. time to leave this joke behind. in 24hours, they will be one day older and dumber.
AWFUL, KEEPS REMOVING MY POSTS. MOST ARE POSTS THAT I PREVIOUSLY USED AND THEN TRIED MAKING A NEW POST AND THAT'S REMOVED ALSO. THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE IMPOSSIBLE; THE "START NEW THREAD" DOESN'T WORK WHEN TRYING TO INQUIRE IN THE FORUM. GARBAGE
First CL states NO PORN, NO Prostitution, NOTHING SEXUAL BUT it in their postings. They also state NO PET SALES but you can REHOME for under about $150.00.NO STUD SERVICE and their rules and regulations go on and on.So months ago I sent them an message on their site, yet still the ads go on and on. So I started FLAGGING those ads along with others and tonight, December 6, 2024 CRAIGSLIST BLOCKED ME for FLAGGING postings they should have cut off because many have been up for weeks and months yet, Craigslist does nothing, but they blocked me? Maybe they should be paying us for the job they are NOT DOING!
Craigslist is a horrible platform that only promotes Scammers & Backyard Breeders!!! Any legitimate breeder or business that makes a post are immediately Flagged. STAY AWAY FROM CRAIGSLIST FOR PETS!
I went to post a question on the CL "Help" forum and noted a very reasonable question from someone and the "help" people just annihilated this poor person with sarcastic comments and insults. We need to bring these mo fo's down now. You reap what you sow. There are a lot of alternatives to CL now. Take your money elsewhere and go some place professional that appreciates your business.
There are WAY too many scammers, spammers and phishers on this platform! I am not sure how they can clean this up but it has gotten so bad I would not recommend this platform to anyone. Furthermore, they want to charge a fee for certain items! Ugh! There are better ways to sell not Craigslist!
I rented this"lovely" 1 bedroom apartment from this woman that was also a relator. I paid my security deposit and rent way before it was due. It turned into a month nightmare with her screaming at me that I was evicted. She is watching you with doorbell cameras, harassing you on where to park and still hasn't returned my security deposit. Read the rental agreement carefully. I am a retiree living on social security. I need my deposit returned. Do a background check on this landlord before you sign the agreement. If she can't control you, she will evict you.
I’m giving this 5 star to handyman well skiled San Fernando valley Bernand Zaya. I have been working with a lot of handy man but Bernand Zaya is the one of the best . He is honest , dedicated , and he make sure that he delivers his promise. Prices he gave me is unbelievable. Bernand you got yourself a life time customer. I highly recommend to give him a chance to show you guys the difference he can make . Bernand you rock
Like many other users, my ads was removed as soon as I post it. Even after modifying my ads, they remove it as soon as I post it. It is like they delete your ad once their system detects your email. No wonder now, Facebook marketing is getting more popular than Craigslist. Just saying so that Craigslist knows what they are up against. Do better now or be faded into the sunset.
Yesterday I created an account on Craigslist and posted four household times for sale as the owner of said items. Three out of four were flagged and removed, arbitrarily, for no given reason, presumably flagged by other users who do not want competition for items. No rules were broken, no objectionable wording used, there is no reason given for this absurdity, no way of discovering what the problem might be and no means of editing your post to comply with imagined regulations. Completely opaque operation, bizarrely run. Here yesterday, gone today. Account closed never to be revisited.
Man claiming to be a mechanic in hampton va, did so much more damage than repairs, cost me another $7000 to repair what he screwed up and original problem still exist. He had a girlfriend steal my keys and kept demanding money before the job was complete. He's still advertising on Craig's list as a mechanic, proved not to be one at all, working under Craig's list to hide his deceitfulness when people reach out for car repairs. He works on cars at his home, close to the car painting shoppe on pembroke avenue.
I have used Craigslist for the past several years. It is much easier to use craigslist than any other site. I really do not like Marketplace Vancouver. It is difficult to go through and sometime stops. But with craigslist, it is very straight forward to put your ad and receive responses. Many my friends are also found craigslist much friendlier than the other sites. I will give the Creaigslist 10 Stars.
I listed a car for sale and within minutes got 5 responses from apparently interested people. But prior to visiting to view car and prior to even calling me to discuss car they required that I provided them with “car fax” type report. But each wanted me to use their reporter. The first was “”seahawkvin .com”: when I paid the $22 and sent it (it was clean); and never heard from him again. The others all refused to accept that report and when I refused to pay the charges for their favorite they also disappeared. Somehow all of these “buyers” were profiting from their referrals!
Flagging mechanism is grossly abused with no way to review, correct or appeal. Legitimate ads are taken down in minutes or a few hours at the most with no warning just because someone can click 'flag' at the top of the page. This not only makes the site unusable to sell or promote anything, but also severely limits the pool of legitimate offers which might be of interest to buyers.
Deserves a zero!! No accountability shown for a modern class classifieds listing. The company doesn't moderate or care about reports of scams which are WIDELY abundant on Craigslist. If you do buy in person then you best meet with the seller at a police station.. it's that bad! Stay clear!!!!!!!!!!
Like how asked, "well what went wrong this time" lolI to wouldn't pay $35.00 to post a help wanted Ad on orthru Craigslist. Not when but 24 months ago the same 2 category posts were only $10.00.I don't see sense at all in paying for CraigslistAI Tech builds. Or in compensating a dime towards their trials and tribunal deficient performance in vesting shares in the game of marketing builds. They have been able to avoid post .govregulations. Paying off their indentured servitude.Still allowing, exited discernments to globalism socialmedia. Sellers, Marketing and on the very edge ofdarker adjectives.Yet still to this very day, they manage to circle the club of insider profits.Just get by with the more the better/bestNever to big for the "Rich es".Yet everso just barely getting by.
Craigslist to scamming people out of their money. By saying that if you pay for the category services under health and wellness that you can post an ad to try and receive new clients for your massage business. I am just one individual that has a massage business.. And I posted today. One minute later after they took my money. They removed it flagged it. I contacted them asking them why they did. I have yet to receive a response.
They flag and remove legitimate postings constantly, thousands by the day, because their AI program is so stupid. Plus, they have thousands of loser trolls low-lifes online all day flagging ads that don't violate anything. These absolute scum of the Earth sit at home all day flagging whatever suits them, whatever they don't like, even if it doesn't violate TOS. Stupid company, stupid site, just pure cancer. Avoid.
I hired one of your plumbers the guy name is Raymond or his name is Mike he scammed me out of 500 dollars his phone number is 512-862-1190 please whoever read this do not hire him. I am a senior citizen with a disabled child..I asked him for pictures plus an estimate he told me he would email to me and never did I needed it for my insurance again don't allow this man in your home...

“Graiglist should rethink if modifying the platform.”

Graiglist need to modify the platform, anything i post for sale or community gets flagged or removed. I never posted porn or sexual related posting. It's time for everyone to forget graiglist and move on. Service Value

“Posting on Community for Pets”

What a horrible platform! They allow posts from scammers and backyard breeders! But any legitimate breeder or business placing a post they Flag! BEWARE IF YOU LOOKING FOR A DOG THROUGH CRAIGSLIST - They are why real business and breeders get a bad rap! Products used:Community - Pet Ad/Post Service Value Quality

“Fake site”

They always remove my ads for no reason. Fake hack site run by idiots from San Francisco. Avoid posting there if you can. Must be a better place to go than them

“Don't Post on Craigslist”

Don't post on Craigslist. They have worst filters to remove your advertisements post for no reason. And they have stupid people flagging you down again for no reason. Especially if you're a paid user. They probably won't refund you back. They don't even have phone customer service even for paid users. Good luck trying to get your money back and email them if they even respond back. They never responded back to me in an email. This is very annoying. Service

“Craigslist Admin Removing ours & Everyone's POSTS”

Keep in mind it's A $5 Ad...When trying to post an ad for offer help people with moving service for a job the ad will be removed or All credit/debit cards keep getting declined in there system and in the past have done plenty of jobs on Craigslist with the exact same ad. I been moving local and long distance mover for both residential and businesses and all my customers very satisfied. Now when I try to post with the same credit card always use, the same same card always used in the past is automatically declined. We need work to survive and this is not right. “Problems with customer service”

When trying to report a credit card that's not working which has worked just fine in the past and works well at evert other place I use it, craigslist does nothing to fix it or even respond. Trying to post a legitimate ad for work which I've also posted the same ad plenty of times. So nothing wrong with the post or card or even the user, it's craigslist themselves. Tip for consumers:When trying to report a credit card that's not working which has worked just fine in the past and works well at evert other place I use it, craigslist does nothing to fix it or even respond. “BE WARNED!”

This site is a BAD, BAD joke... They remove/deactivate your listing for no valid reason because the site is run by people who are as smart as a box of hair and that is why it is packed with junk, crap and trash. And good luck if you try to contact customer service and ask for an explanation, you better off talking to your chair!

“Craigslist Moderattion by scum of the Earth”

Craigslist will let prostitutes and down-low s*x get posted all over the site, but the moment someone posts something gentle, genuine, or basic, it will be flagged into oblivion. CL is the place scum reigns supreme and legitimately normal people are denied participation. Going without community contact is better than using Craigslist. Service Value Quality

“Craigslist”

I give the site 5stars. It is helpful in getting straight. Just some of the renters play others property. I had an experience in Atlanta where deputies searched my room saying they had a warrant for someone from 2016 and it was 2023. I believe those guys in that home were not for people succeeding or there well being. Those Deputies didn't even search upstairs which was odd the 1st chance I got was 1 way out of Atlanta. “Craigslist is a two faced organization!”

Craigslist is a great place to sell or post a 'wanted' ad... Until someone 'flags' you for no reason and craigslist simply sees their flag and takes your ad down cut and dry.no reasons(s) given. They believe anyone.actually they don't believe anyone except someone hitting the 'flag' sign. It's automatic for them. Craigslist is a spineless organization that doesn't know the difference between right and wrong. They don't even follow their own guidelines about treating people fairly. Tip for consumers:Beware of scammers Service Value

“Still, I'd recommend using this platform.”

On the one hand, it's a great platform for finding affordable deals and unique items. But on the other hand, navigating through the endless listings and scammers can be frustrating and overwhelming. I've had good and bad experiences using Craigslist, from finding my dream apartment to dealing with dishonest sellers. It's a love-hate relationship. Still, I'd recommend using this platform.

“Postings are removed for no reason”

I placed 4 new postings on Craigslist for various items I no longer need. # of the 4 were removed without any explanation whatsoever. Very innocent a simple postings. No way to find out why they were removed. I'm going back to ebay. Products used:none Service

“Thieves and drug addicts”

Craigslist used to be a good site now it's all fake ads with liars thieves and drug addicts. Even posting legitimate ads on there they keep getting flagged and craigslist won't do anything to stop it. Craigslist needs to.b shut down and get all the low lifes, losers,, drug addicts and thieves off there.

“Listings”

I've placed 17 listing on Craigslist and all of them have been removed by Craigslist. I've tried numerous times to talk to someone LIVE in craigslist company. I've sent emails. I used their message forums with no luck of someone LIVE to contact me. In my opinion they are scared to communicate with customers. They despise talking to customers one on one.

“Getting blocked by Craigslist?”

I am blocked by Craigslist for no apparent reason. They give an email site to respond to, no one responds back. No idea why I am blocked, only posted normal items such as Gas Dryer, auto, etc. Never any complaints, posted maybe 5x in the last 2 years. Have emailed them 10x in last 6 months w/no reply. This is what it shows: Your request has been blocked. If you have questions, please contact us. Tip for consumers:Why I was blocked! Service Value Shipping Quality

“Too much spam that cares about only making money”

I used to really love posting my small business ads for cleaning. Unfortunately over the years they have now started charging you to post an ad. I would not mind this if I got anything that was legit but right off the bat, I get sick messages. Such as asking for me to clean someone's house while there completely naked and other spam which are supposed to be filtered out. I have not gotten one legit response with my ad so I feel like I throw my money away. It was so much easier the way it was before and wouldn't mind all the Spam if it weren't for the fact that now I'm paying. There isn't a real person to report anything to so now Im officially am done with this site. I figured over the years, they would start charging people because that seems to be the only thing people care about is making money and not providing a reliable service. Products used:Posting household services Service Value Quality

“TERRIBLE!”

TERRIBLE! Stay away. Full of scammers who are not even intercepted by Craigslist. Buyers and sellers are not even verified by Craigslist. I just got scammed of $1000 while trying to sell my furniture on Craigslist, via two $500 Amex gift cards. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Site has gone to Sh*t”

Flagging done left right and center. Especially in the pets section. Seems these psychos would rather people did like the old days and either drown pets or throw them out car windows in trash bags on highways, than see anyone adopt them. The sick thing is, these people think their animal rights activists! There are all sorts of valid reasons people may have for rehoming pets. Shelters are FULL. Yet you psychos make it impossible. You think you're saving these animals from danger? You ARE the danger. Get a life and a job instead of sitting around flagging ppls posts. This happens in other areas as well such as suite rentals. Bunch of clowns running the show. Craigslist, put legitimate employees in charge and spend a buck. At this rate Craigslist is going obselite. Nice job ' Community'.

“Beware Craigslist Scammers!”

Recently scammed out of $3500 from a fake cashier's check drawn on an out of state bank. I live in Washington, check drawn in Texas. If you get a check from anyone regarding a Craigslist posting - call the issuing bank immediately to validate the check. Had I done that, instead of relying on my credit union's due diligence I would not have been scammed. Beware of Craigslist phishers and scammers. Products used:I'm reporting a financial scam, not using any products.

“Scam”

There has been quite a few posts that are scams on here, houses for rent that actually are houses for sale, they use the pictures the Realtors have and then they use that and they post it for rent and then I'm on my way to Florida but it's a $50 application fee blah blah blah and we'll mail you the keys don't fall for it especially the senior Section 8 one. Realtors are trying to get it taken down but Craigslist come on get with the program it's a scam this is like the fifth one I found

“Craigslist discriminates against the LGBTQ community”

Posted a request for friends only, specifically saying no sex or I'd block them. Literally just a friends with similar interests post. Never even made it to a live listing. They have a section called "missed encounters" and it's mostly sex workers, which doesn't bother ME, but they obviously allow them. Is it because they are "straight"? I want to see this crap site fall the way of MySpace... someone please develop a better model using their idea of a national platform, and just put ads at the bottom. No one cares about small ads at the bottom, I promise. Get paid, do better than Craigslist. They are an outdated model and provide almost nothing. Someone with computer website know how please make a better site! Tip for consumers:Only a viable option for bland things like buying a car. There is an opportunity here....anyone can do better than these “owners” do. Products used:Missed Connections

“Middle class lawn service”

Middle class lawn service. Do not try to hire anybody off of craigslist. I tried several times to remove some trees in my yard. They were small sapling trees. I got a quote from several, but they never showed. I sent the money. This is scam. The people who answer ads do not want to work they are degenerates. And I'm using the Republicans View. They are losers Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Thieves Raise Prices 60% To Help The Struggling Economy!”

Right in the middle of everywhere in the world we are fighting inflation craigslist raises the price of an ad from $3.00 to $5.00 with no addition of features. Just give me more money they said. Value

“Good for Local Sales”

Craigslist is pretty good if you want to sell your comics and DVDs. I made successful sales of my Superman comic books and the customer didn't try to haggle for a lower price. If the price is reasonable, you won't deal with difficult customers. Every once in awhile, there's an annoying phone call but it's infrequent. The pets section is toxic, though, so do well enough to avoid. Service Value Quality

“Flagged and removed legal ads”

I cannot get any answers from anyone at Craigslist why they continue to remove my legal & ethical ads, an ad I've used for three plus years that is suddenly being removed without explanation. Poor business practice on their part. Equally frustrating, no one to contact at their home office for help. Again, poor business practice

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a

fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Our staff verifies this service works and is trustworthy. It costs only $6.49/month but is worth the cost. U.S., UK, EU, Swiss, and Canadian residents only. Click below. button remove data online
