citicards.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives citicards.com a fairly high trust score on the platform: 80.5. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Fair. Valid. Known.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 80.5 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to citicards.com's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Fair. Valid. Known. tags above. Long story short, we deemed this a known website, with a low scam probability. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning citicards.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between citicards.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of citicards.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of citicards.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. citicards.com is an innocuous suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether citicards.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether citicards.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, citicards.com.

“Worst credit card”

Of all the credit cards we have Citi card is the worst to use overseas. Never know when transactions going thru. In one year i was sent two new cards due to fraud detections from Citi. When I try to purchase airline tickets it was declined, after speaking to reps they told me it's going to be fine. After 2-3 tries it's still declined. We registered our Att bill for auto pay, it also would be paid and my service was suspended and was charged $35 to get back online. Citi card is super inconvenient to use

“False advertising 0% is a joke”

False advertising of 0% balance transfers for 21 months just to get you to apply and then be declined to move you into a different card Offer with a higher interest rate. Waste of time and unwanted hit on credit report. Tip for consumers:Nay Products used:Application Service Value Quality

“I thought I was protected!”

I purchased a watch from watch Rapport on 9/2/23. When it didn't arrive in 6 weeks and they couldn't tell me when it would, I requested a refund and filed a dispute with Citi Cards. Now 2 months later, I still haven't received the refund and Citi is foot dragging the investigations. Multiple agents in their dispute dept. have been sympathetic and promised to contact their "investigator" on my behalf to no avail. Now I feel victimized twice! Products used:Mastercard Credit Card Value Quality

“Worst Company Ever!”

Can't believe this company can be allowed to be in business. Worst customer service ever. I would go as far as to say that they are fraudulent. I closed my 101 year old mother's account 9 months ago and overpaid their fees and the disputed charges on the account. They are still sending bills on the closed account as they have accepted Norton Utilities charges on the closed account. I have spent hours on the phone with no resolve. Service Value Quality

“Wish can give negative stars”

City blocked my card for no reason. When I call they take forever to verify and they say my account is in good standing. When I try to use the card, it's deny. It's so embarrassing. I call again and again. Went that for few days, and now they said my card is blocked and it can only be verified by mail. They said mail will take 5-7 days. I requested over night service that they declined.

“Horrible customer service! Hung up on me 3 times!”

After blocking our credit card and multiple attempts with customer service to correct this, we have decided to close our account with CitiCards after 17 years with them. You should be ashamed of yourselves, Citibank/CitiCards. Outsourcing your customer services was a bad move! You have one pissed off customer who will never come back!

“Underwhelming”

This cards reward scheme consistently fails to meet or exceed the rewards I can get from Capital one, Wells F, or Chase. Booking through a third party is never smart became you cannot straighten out inevitable screwups directly with your hotel or car rental. Instead you must go through your third party. I get better rewards dealing directly with the vendor and simply pay using whatever card is giving the rewards and skipping a troublesome third party app. After you score your welcome bonus the card loses its value. If Citi would raise their rewards rates across the board to something comparable or exceeding rewards other cards in its class have it would be worth it for me. My credit journey has surpassed what Citi has to offer but you could still find some value to this card albeit a somewhat lower value that will still leave you short over a few years time. Getting shorted on rewards points can really add up over time. This card is a Signature level Visa card which comes up short on Signature level perks.

“I'd literally rather die than use Citi”

I'm serious. If I had been in an accident and lost a lot of blood, and I learned the only blood that could save my life came from someone that worked at Citi, I'd tell them no thanks and die. Nothing about this company works. They cannot send a card in the mail to save their souls; you have to pay to get confirmed DHL shipping or you will never get it. Their website is a joke. It lags and crashes frequently and hides the button to make a payment under the home tab rather than the "payments" tab. It also frequently forgets your bank information which is just super frustrating. Taco Bell remembers my card but Citi can't? Give me a break. Their password complexity is a &%*$ing nightmare and makes everyone just write it down in a notepad file which makes it LESS secure than my password on Neopets in 1998. A lot of companies have this card as their only option for a company card which is THE ONLY WAY THEY STAY IN BUSINESS. Sometimes I wonder if the CEOs of this company meet up to discuss how to make humanity suffer more. Tip for consumers:If your company says get a Citi card, refuse. “CitiCards Sides With Scam Companies Instead of With Loyal Customer”

I accidentally bought concert tickets online from a notorious scam company, Tickets-Center.com. This company has had 3,750 complaints in the last several years and is not BBB accredited. 861 complaints in the last year.I bought the tickets but the would not release them to me until I downloaded an app on my computer, which was not explained prior to the purchase. Shady business. I NEVER received the tickets and CitiCard refused to refund my money even though I have been a loyal customer for over 7 years. So, they can keep their $238.00 and I closed my account. Hope it was worth it Citibank. Service Value Quality

“Fraud every month or two”

I was issued new cards every month or two due to fraudulent activity, a real pain when you have autopay set up with several accounts. I left and am trying discover. Service Value Quality

“Terrible Customer Service.”

After Auto System couldn't understand by Secret Word, I tried for a Live Person. I was connected to China and eventually lost due to bad connection. 2nd attempt I was put thru to India. The Rep transferred me to the Travel Group (again India). He took so long and asking so many questions I finally said I will use another card and hung up. Terrible Customer Service Service Quality

“Terrible support”

Terrible phone support, voice-automated system keeps repeating the obvious, actual people can't speak clearly and there is static on the line. Then they drop the call and don't call me back so I have to go through the menus again. I was told I would get a text to do a password reset, verified the number and I never got the text. I guess I'll call a third time. The sum effect of these peope is incompetence.

“It's just wrong”

I'm pretty disgusted with Citi-card at this point. They sided with an AC company here in FL called Darlington heating and cooling. This company ripped me off 2k and I have nothing to show for it. This is not a way to treat your customers who have an excellent payment history and ZERO balance after paying in FULL every month. I'm appalled by this treatment.

“Usuary interest rates on citi credit cards”

Raised my interest rate from 12% to 24% for no reason. Gave me one month notice. Usuary, terrible!….

“Did not honor dispute and let fraudulent charge through”

I went to US Virgin Islands I booked the hotel through their travel website when I arrived to the hotel it was not a 8out of 10 hotel as stated on their travel site but a 3 put of 10. The hotel had mold on every pool another pool didn't even have their 2nd pool was empty(no water) and their room had bed bugs...I tried disputing this with CITI and they honored the hotel instead of their consumer which is me. I left bunker hill hotel the very next day to Emerald beach resort and repaid for 2 hotels essentiallt...this has been the worse experience ever. I will never ever recommend anyone to get CITI they don't care about you. Service Value Quality

“If you're considering using Citibank for a credit card or checking account, DON'T!”

I opened a Citi Premier Card less than 2 months ago and have had NOTHING but problems. I received my physical card and when adding it to my Apple Pay, it triggered an alert which had me on hold with the customer service department (who of course is outsourced to Asia) for over an hour. That was finally rectified, but since then it has been literally a once a week or more occurrence that transactions I'm trying to legitimately make are flagged which the only way to rectify is to contact their customer service department numerous times to try to sort it out. I get no sort of alert by phone or text of an issue and when I have no other choice but to contact customer service it is the most inane process of "verification" that makes absolutely no sense. Their "verification" method criteria are secondary phone numbers to contact you (why have a number associated with your account if they won't use that to reach you?) or numbers of other credit cards or checking accounts that have nothing to do with Citibank. What's the point of having a secret word if they don't use it? T9 times out of 10 they want to send you a letter of verification which takes an average of 7-10 business days to get to you while all that while you can't use your card?! We are in 2022 and this is the best you can do Citibank? I only got this card to take advantage of the bonus travel points and now that I've received those I will no longer be using this card. It's like the twilight zone, truly and utterly horrible. Tip for consumers:There are many more reputable credit card companies - Chase, Bank of America, Discover, Capital One. Please don't open an account with CitiBank as their customer service is deplorable and there are so many more reputable companies that deserve your support. “Bad beyond my imagination!”

Worst credit card ever! Cancelled my card and associated COSTCO membership with NO notice. Snail mailed new card (1 week). Found new card number, expiration date, and CVV code online. Changed 13 automated payments to this card. (Took 6 hours!) Got errors. Looked online again and found a DIFFERENT expiration date and CVV code. Went back and changed all 13 accounts again. Received card in mail. IT HAD THE FIRST SET OF EXPIRATION DATE AND CVV CODE NUMBERS! Attempted to activate card using their App. Entered name (twice), address, last 4 SSN, etc. Got message: "AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED."! Wanted to cancel card, but was told that I would lose my over $700 in rewards. THIS IS SOOOO BAD, IT IS PROBABLY HARD TO BELIEVE, BUT I SEE THEIR AVERAGE RATING IS 1.0 (That seems waaaaay high to me!) Tip for consumers:Do NOT request a CitiCard! Products used:None Service Value Quality

“WORSE CARD EVER”

You can't ever log in easy/today impossible, phoned/the charges have no idea where they came from/recording, so I phone the # on back of card, usually works, but not today. Whoever answered so hard to understand/driving a car believe, so I asked her where are you, such an echo. She was in China, extreme accent, so that did not work out at all. I keep them only so my American airmails keep current. Have no Citibank here, so have to pay online. Years ago had no problem, but now would not recommend. Products used:I did not lose any just wanted to pay my bill/wanted to know the charges/recording came on/2 charges I had never heard of them, some weird ridiculous charges from a long name, certainly not mine. So I phoned/got someone hard to understand/an echo, so I asked her where are you, she said in China, obviously driving a car according to sound, so that was NO help. I would NEVER recommend. Only have them to keep my miles, otherwise they drop off in 18 mos. or sooner. I am retired/live in a senior independent facility. Service Value Quality

“You Will Regret Getting this Card!”

Take it from someone who knows. Stay far away from this card unless you want bad service, high rates, and no understanding. So many better cards out there. Let this be your last resort. I've had a completely bad experience and just want to warn others. Service Value Quality

“Used To Be Decent, But...”

As many others are saying, their customer service has declined drastically. I've been with Citi for over 10 years and even a simple issue cannot be addressed. I've wasted an hour and have gone thru 4 people now. First, their Virtual Assistant (VA) system SUCKS! It hardly recognizes what you're saying so you opt for touch-tone. Use that and it then can't recognize your account (either one of the two Platinum cards I currently have)!? It then asks for a phone # and STILL can't recognize me. It then transferred me to a human FINALLY. Then I'm speaking with someone who can barely speak English! After wasting 15+ minutes having to go through them not being able to still find me (phone # finally got them somewhere), they were telling me that something with the #s I was giving them was wrong?! (How wrong can it be when you have two and you're reading them directly from both cards?!?) How is this my fault too?! Anyway, I asked to speak with a Supervisor and was then put on infinite hold. Called back to their security/fraud line (which is NOT their $#*!ty VA system) and after going thru security questions as expected, they were quickly able to find my account?! How convenient! I then requested to speak with someone about closing my account in hope of speaking to someone with authority. I wound up in another queue where it went from an Indian-based accent to a Spanish-based one?! All she wanted to do was just close my accounts - not even asking why or caring why! I then asked to speak with a Supervisor to discuss all my problems with Citi and she said all she could do was handle closing, which I told her NOT to do. Yes, I'm so mad and have spent so much with Citi that I still want to put up with this nonsense. I request to speak with a Supervisor again and got put on hold for about 10 min then was told that the queue is full and nobody is available. (At least she didn't just leave me hanging). I told her I'd like to speak with someone so she's trying, but it's wasting their resources in making this request too. It's very disappointing to say the least. Since the only way to get American Airline points is to use Citi cards, I'm tolerating this nonsense, but I've had it! I think it's time to start looking into how to earn AA flights by using Capital One or AMEX! I'm not sure if those are good options. BTW, what I wanted to discuss was a promo that I received and activated where I was assured I'd get 4X bonus miles (2,500 max) for purchases made before May 31. The April purchase worked fine, but the May one didn't. I got shorted about 1,664 miles! I already spoke with someone about this a month or so ago and they assured me they'd get it fixed. 2 weeks later, I got a letter in the mail stating that they weren't honored because my account was switched from their basic MileUp card to their Platinum?! So even though I used the original card that the promo was on and did my part, Citi didn't do theirs! They didn't honor what was promised. The Supervisor who promised it'd be taken care of did something, but it wound up going to a department that basically told me why they didn't get done - not actually doing anything about it. This company's ethics and integrity are greatly diminished, obviously. 2 hours in with just trying to get 1,664 more miles - waste of my time... all it accomplished was getting me so pissed at Citi that I'm looking into other cards w/intent of somehow speaking with a supervisor. I intend to call back about 11PM when the queues aren't as full! I won't let this rest - it's a mission at this point. It shouldn't have to get this ridiculous! Way to go Citi! Service Value Quality

“Hard to even get started”

Forced to use this as corporate credit card. The sign-up process is nightmarish - the website is barely usable. I pinged around a few email addresses before being given a telephone number - on hold then the phone was just put down on me. It has been so difficult to simply register for my card that I've had to delay business travel. If I had any choice at all I would never use this company again.

“The WORST customer service EVER!”

Can never speak with a person even after holding hours and hours. When a representative gets online you are transferred to someone who also cannot help and they transfer you again. Yesterday I waited on hold for 37 minutes the first time, then 1 hour 10 minutes, and gave up. Today I spoke with someone after holding for 1 hour and 12 minutes. We were on the phone for 34 minutes when she transferred me to someone who proceeded to hang up on me. We will find another bank for our corporate accounts. Tip for consumers:Find another bank as Citicards has gotten so big they do not care about their customers. I am an executive used to excellent customer service and am totally frustrated at my attempts to speak with someone, ANYONE within city citicards. Who has hours of time to sit "on hold" attempting to gain assistance on your account?! Products used:Corporate cards for our sales' representatives; no customer service; can NEVER speak with a representative at Citicard. Service Value Quality

“Stay away, Citi Buisness Card are poorly managed.”

Applied for and recieved an American Citi Business Card. They had a computer change in May or June and stop sending us our bills. Very difficult to deal with on the phone. Foreign call centers, you get passed from one person to the next. No resultion. Tried several times for a resolution. We paid the late fees and closed the card. Very bad service. All over $50 of messed up billing. Sorry American Airlines, you have a lousy partner.

“Inaccessible”

For three months I haven't been able to access my Citicard account online; each attempt results in a message saying my username. Password is incorrect (it wasn't!) and asks me to re-enter the information. When I do that, it locks me out till I call customer service (a lengthy process). Tech support usually offers the "expert" opinion that there must be a glitch in the system, though one said that if I key in the address myself instead of using a bookmark or Chrome suggestion it will open; it doesn't. In the numerous times I have called to gain access, customer service always says it will pass along the problem to someone. Not once have I ever received any word that has happened, and the problem persists. This is the worst financial institution I have ever dealt with. I no longer use the card, of course, but there are a couple charges to appear in the next cycle, and I need to cash in my reward money before they lose that, too, so I will need to get denied again.

“Citi is the only card I've dumped in the last 30 years”

They make their customer service reps say: "We value your business", but apparently after over 17 years they value my business less than $22. A little background so you'll understand why I'm so disappointed in Citi: I'm one of those weird people who carries a zero balance on all my cards and bills (4 personal cards, and 2 for my company), and I VERY rarely miss deadlines. Earlier this year I was on a photo shoot (I own an ad agency) on an island off the coast of Mexico. There should have been cell service, however it was down (no cell service) while I was there, which made getting online or even making phone calls impossible. I paid the bill as soon as I reached mainland Mexico and had cell reception, but by that time it was after the deadline. When my statement came, it showed a $22.88 charge for late fee and interest. I called customer service, explained the situation and asked to have the fee removed as a courtesy (something none of the other credit card companies had trouble doing on the rare occasion my payment was late.) The rep said she would put in the request, and it shouldn't be a problem. Next month the statement showed a charge for an additional late fee: now totaling $38.38. I called customer service again, and was told they couldn't remove any of the fees, but they did value my business (?!). I said: "if that's the case, I would like you to close my account". That got me transferred to another customer service person. She also apologized and said "we value your business", and offered me more reward points, which I don't care about. I told her if they won't let her remove the fee, I want the account closed, but she just repeated her offer. This went back and forth for way too long. I explained that I'm treating Citi the same way I treat all businesses I deal with on a daily basis: if they aren't performing to my standards, I give them one chance to correct, and if they can't improve; I'm done doing business with them. That got through to her. My advice is to not use Citi, and don't allow yourself to be bullied by banks and credit companies: there are plenty of companies that want your business, and will act like it. If Citi can't correct a $22 charge for a customer of 17 years, with an 800+ credit score, don't expect them to treat you any better.

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. Are You the Owner of citicards.com?

If you own citicards.com, we’d love to hear from you. If you'd like to challenge the trust score we’ve assigned, we’re happy to take a closer look. However, please be prepared to provide solid proof of your business's legitimacy. Introduce yourself with your name (not just "Admin").

When domain owners contact us to dispute their trust score, we kindly ask for the following:

* Business documentation that verifies your legitimacy (e.g., certificate of incorporation, business registration, or official records with the site or business name).

* Your personal LinkedIn profile and the business's social media accounts (e.g., Facebook).

* If available, proof of satisfied customers (e.g., screenshots, not just testimonials on your website), evidence of inventory, or records of handling order cancellations properly.

We’re more than willing to update your review based on the evidence you provide—the more proof, the higher your trust score. Please note, however, that we cannot verify non-operational websites or those redirected to other URLs. Additionally, we do not verify websites involved in high-risk financial services, gambling, adult content, or illegal activities.
