christmaslightsetc.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives christmaslightsetc.com a medium trust score on the platform: 50.4. It signals that the business can best be defined by the following tags: Questionable. Minimal Doubts. Controversial.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this low score? We came up with the 50.4 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to christmaslightsetc.com's industry. The algorithm detected possible high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Questionable. Minimal Doubts. Controversial. tags above. Long story short, we recommend using caution when using this website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning christmaslightsetc.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between christmaslightsetc.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of christmaslightsetc.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of christmaslightsetc.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. christmaslightsetc.com is a dubious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether christmaslightsetc.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether christmaslightsetc.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, christmaslightsetc.com.

Every year I put blue lights on an outside tree so that my daughter will have a blue tree. This year I purchased a blue Christmas tree from Christmas Tree Lights Etc for my daughter. It will not turn on. We have tightened every connection— which required taking the entire tree apart— and it still will not light. I have had to place a string of blue lights on it in order to give my daughter her blue tree. The product is heartbreakingly unreliable.
Horrible company and the worst shipping. I wish I had read the reviews. Terribe rude customer service and will NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN
Our house is the most embarrassing in our neighborhood and we have wasted $700+ dollars. We ordered the C7 warm white LED lights, and received a box of strings and bulbs, which needed to be assembled. We screwed in all the bulbs, plugged them in, and only a few bulbs worked. We called customer service who told us they were not screwed in tight enough, so we went through and tightened every bulb until they all worked. We had the lights installed by a professional company who checked the bulbs to make sure they were all working after installation. The house looked beautiful the first night with all bulbs working. Cut to a week later, 60+ bulbs have gone out and the lights looked terrible. Customer Service sent us "replacements" even though we told them we didn't want them. The "replacements" are just the strings - no bulbs. Absolutely worthless and customer service is just blowing us off now.
Just received all of my order, complete and timely. Put all the snowflakes together and plugged them in all working as expected. Now I pray they will last for years for us.
Shelled out $358.28 (before tax) for 12 strands and 4 "fairy" lights. Images of so-called "warm white" lights were gorgeous online but NOTHING in common with the real thing. Both styles threw off gigantic casts: 7' tree would normally require one dozen strands; these would have literally lit my house. While the quality of the light strand looked decent, the plastic bags with a non-branded fold-over piece closed with two random staples had an unsettling homemade feel at this price point. The so-called fairy lights -- another bankroll burner -- were well-constructed but also misrepresented. There's nothing warm or golden about their lights; best suited for outdoor or commercial venues. After a few rounds of phone tag I was finally told accounting lost track of my return. AMEX was dinged within nanoseconds of purchase although shipping lagged. The threat of hefty restocking fees subject to their discretion loomed in the background; after justifying my position I was thankful to ultimately pay $10 for my wasted time & aggravation. There's only so much you can blame on a pandemic -- which they were big on doing. Thankfully Amazon came through for me at the last minute.
This company is falsely advertises that they can provide products that they simply cannot. DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO UNTIL YOU VERIFY IF THEY HAVE PRODUCT IN STOCK. They will email you incessantly for business, then cannot fill their orders. I order 4-5 sets of lights, they billed me, then abruptly cancelled the order weeks later. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE TOO.
Awful, they are the perfect example of why people should shop in stores. I ordered multiple strands of C7 light strings, but they threw in 2 strands of C9 strings. After numerous (unanswered) phone calls, and multiple emails, the gave me a UPS label to return the incorrect lights and said that a "refund amount will go back to the original payment that you used." After not receiving any refund, they are now saying a store credit was issued to my account (I have no account with them or any way to access this alleged credit). I am now disputing it with my credit card company. Go to Home Depot/Lowe's/Target, if the correct merchandise is out of stock this company will send the wrong items and keep your money.
Did not include my unit number on fedex shipment, so fedex returned my item to sender. They didn't refund anything to me until I reached out on their website's chat (no response to email). They only refunded partial amount, keeping the shipping cost despite it being theirs and fedex's mistake. I have my paypal receipt which includes my apartment number, so I am guessing it's an honest mistake where the data from paypal (which has unit number on an extra line) did not get ingested into their system properly. However, they were rude and belligerent about it being my fault, so they refused to return that amount. I won't be using this website again.
Like all the other complaints, I never received my lights. When I called, they simply blamed UPS for never picking up my order. But being clever I called back and got someone else who explained to me that the items were never even pulled from inventory. I left a review on their website but they delete my review. Interesting that they are 2 stars on here but 4.8 on their website. Lazy staff. And no, I never received my refund
We purchased a rather expensive Christmas Tree from this company about 4 years ago largely based upon the 10 year warranty promised on their website. Recently, a large number of the lights went out due to an electrical problem somewhere in the tree that fried one of two plugs that connect the tree to the wall power. Called the company and was told that they would provide no assistance because while the "tree" was warrantied for 10 years, the lights were only covered for one year. This tree had a problem that could have burned our house down and ZERO support from the company. Good luck finding that exclusion (that would have altered our buying decision) on their website. To make things worse, we purchased another expensive tree from them this year, before we had this very disappointing experience.
I spent $130 on one Christmas decoration from this company. It failed after 3 seasons of use. Have bought dozens of decorations over the years this was the most expensive and worst performing. I would not use them again.
Ordered 3 of their 36" LED snowflakes. They all died within a few years. 1/3 of them won't light up, all on the end of the snowflake, so there is a design flaw. No way to fix them either as they are molded LED's. They have a pitiful 1 year warranty which means you better hope they fail the 30 days you have to up or your eating the costs. They refuse to even address it.Stick with one of the other suppliers.
Didn't receive our full order after spending close to 2k. They want me to prove we didn't receive all the path stakes REALLY! They make the packing mistake and I sone how have to prove their mistake. They get it out when they can NO ETA..Don't waste your time, poor customer service.
Customer service is a horrible. They completely scam you for shipping with no refund if it's not delivered when it says it would be delivered. 1. DONOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. 2. IF YOU DO DO NOT PAY FOR EXPEDITED SHIPPING.
the wrong product was sent, I sent it back and then received an email saying my refund would hit my account in 3 to 5 days. been 2 weeks and still no funds, I thought this was a good company, so I reordered the right product, paid for it and received it. but they haven't followed through on the refund, and now are ignoring my emails. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
I ordered from this company and paid to expedite shipping. The shipping date said ‘Deliver November 28th’. My order sat in the warehouse until today. Through live chat they have blamed the shipping company USPS. No, Buddy...this is all on you! You did not pull the order in a timely manner. You can’t blame USPS! They did not have the order in hand yet! Do not order from Christmas-Lights-Etc! The supervisor is now saying that USPS did not pick up on Friday, November 27th. She threatened to hang up when she kept talking and I had to raise my voice to get my point across. They are liars.
I don’t like the fact that it says my lights were made in Cambodia. Poor quality
I placed the order and paid $50 extra for Priority shipping. The next day I received an email stating the order shipped. 4 business days later and the order still did not leave the warehouse. Instead of actually shipping it, I found out when I called customer lack-of-support that the order was pulled, the label printed (thus generating a tracking number), and waiting in the warehouse for 4 days and never shipped (why the tracking number shows still in the warehouse). She said the mail only picks up once a week, and my order would go out on Friday though I placed it Monday. Saturday I checked the tracking and it still never shipped. Now a week has gone by and we never received an order we paid to have shipped faster, and our family was disappointed for Thanksgiving even though we ordered plenty of time for delivery.Truth is, Christmas Lights ETC. is a company that does not have USPS pick up daily. They need to ship daily, even if it means taking the packages to the post office themselves. If you want my advice – stick with Amazon Prime if you expect to get lights for Christmas.
I placed an order from this company on 11/25/20, for Christmas lights that were supposed to be in stock. I paid extra for USPS Priority Mail shipping, and the shipment was supposed to arrive at my home on 11/30/20. As of 11/30/20 the tracking number still showed a "pre shipment" status, indicating that a label has been generated, but the item has not been received by the postal service. I tried calling the company, and received a blow-off recording telling me to use their online chat. The person responding to the online chat stated that the order shipped on Friday 11/27/20 (even though their e-mail claimed it was mailed on Wednesday). I was told that the problem was with USPS, and not them. As of today, 12/2/20, my tracking number still indicates that they have not provided this item to the USPS. Searching reviews online I'm discovering that this is a common occurrence. Unfortunately I can't even reach anyone at the company to discuss it. I may need to dispute the charge with my bank.
HORRIBLE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH.... really consider NOT using them. I had a box unopened, wanting to exchange and was denied... stuck with product purchased 10-11-22 (not received) and it is now 11-20-22... purchased wrong size and they would not take them back. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
