Is carolinaretreats.com Legit?

House was dirty, full of Flys, and roaches, called for help immediately from carolina retreats only to be offered if cleaning needed to come in. They were not addressing the major issues. We drove from ny and are stuck, we cleaned everything ourselves! We were told they only surface clean! Nothing is washed .Food on furniture, curtains, quilts rugs. Flys, ants roaches, worst ever!Name (As You Wish) 1008 s shore rd NC.DONT RENT! I have photos. I've never had this problem before.

Stay at Topsail Beach in June. They could not manage to get complete AC working from Sunday until Wednesday night. Excuses of under staffed and our AC man is old and can’t reach the unit to repair. The rat poop in the house for several days. Only made a small restitution for our suffering at over 80 for 4 days

Highly recommend Carolina Retreats (Blue Water Realty) for all your vacation needs. My recent stay was at Sea Colony 2A. Unit super clean, fully furnished in living area and kitchen. Suggestions for owner to move this rating to 5 star: replace 4 cup coffee maker with 10-12 cup; replace master bedroom mattress and living room sofa. Sorry but that bed was the most uncomfortable I've ever slept in. Was like sleeping on/in a marshmallow. Same for sitting on sofa.

My stay at Cabana 220 served it's purpose. A week and a half working remote from the beach. Condo was exactly as described. Had one little hitch during my stay and it was addressed immediately. THE STAFF at Carolina retreats. TOP NOTCH. Very friendly, very professional. Over the last two decades we've gone with different companies in the past. After my experience with Carolina retreats, we will ONLY do business with them in the future. Ladies, thanks for the best experience!! Look forward to coming back soon.

We have spent vacations in this house for a number of years - and now sign up a year in advance. It's so nice to walk into a familiar place with the beds made up, ice in the refrigerator, everything clean and in place. Topsail Realty has always been quick to answer questions, provided any service needed (seldom) and left unto enjoy the sun, sand and sea.

We received notification that the property wouldn’t be ready until 5 due to late cleaning. When we arrived, the unit didn’t appear to be cleaned very well. Large stains on the carpet, crumbs, fingerprints etc on every surface, hair in the shower drain and paper plates taped to the ceiling above the bed in the main floor bedroom. We spent the first hour of our vacation cleaning. We’ve rented for many years in Topsail and we’re disappointed. However, we had a blast on the beach and made wonderful memories. I did send an email about the condition of the house upon our arrival, but never received a response. Even an apology would’ve been nice.

We loved the perfect location; just steps from the ocean! Perfect gathering place for our family! Having the separate ‘apartment’ on the lower level gave great space, too! We hope to come back next winter including even more family members❤️

From making reservations, to submitting payments, receiving the great emails to help us prepare and plan for our trip, the check-in and check-out process, everything was a breeze. Our recent trip to Surf City on Topsail beach was excellent! The beach rental was perfect. The team at Carolina Retreats was responsive and communication was easy. We love the beach house - location, furnishings, and the ease of access was terrific. We look forward to our next trip and will definitely plan to book with Carolina Retreats again. We had a lovely week. The house was so clean and well-stocked. Loved having linens included. It was a pleasure dealing with Carolina Retreats as I had to change our arrival and departure times twice. Thank you! The location is very convenient. The only problem we had was being physically limited I was unable to access the beach due to no direct access that I could safely negotiate. Was able to enjoy the ocean view from the decks.

Company was awesome to deal with. Very efficient with communication and we even got a call from a real person the day of check-in to make sure we had all the info needed to get into the property. The house was good. Excellent location and the fenced yard was great. Some attention to detail on the inside would be beneficial - molded shower head, drain and return vent were a turn off. The neighbor to the right was not friendly at all but you can't pick your neighbors!

Our Winter Christmas Vacation at Kure Beach was a success! Carolina Retreat made the process of locking down our rental at Summer Place (reviewing properties, payment process, check-in and check-out) stress free. Summer Place is an awesome oceanfront property. We couldn’t be more pleased. 😃

This was an excellent property, the house was everything we expected. The single issue we had was reported on Sunday and even tho the property management company website says they are open on Sunday, we got no response until Monday, which was fine, not an urgent issue and was handled Monday perfectly. Would definitely rent this property again!

We love the Sea Notes beach house! Just the right size for my wife and I, our daughter and her husband, and our two small grandchildren. The cottage is done up prettily with white waisncot/bead-board and cozy furnishings, granite countertops in the kitchen, and good flooring throughout. We appreciated the extra bathroom and laundry room on the parking level. The covered porch and ocean view is grand, and there is a nice, easy access to the beach.We hope to come again with our son, his wife, and our other two grandchildren; and again with our youngest daughter and son-in-law!

House was clean and ready for us and was exactly what was advertised to be. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have used Carolina Retreats 5 years in a row and have never been disappointed in their rentals. Thank you for wonderful service and properties.

Recently stayed at the property “Across the Pond” in Surf City. The house was beautiful, great amenities and excellent location. However, Carolina Retreats was awful to deal with. They were slow to respond and made little to no attempt to resolve an issues we had. In talking with locals, we began to hear from others how poorly their properties are run. We paid additional to have the pool heated for the week and it only worked the afternoon of 2 of the 6 days. They refuse to refund any of the funds. The listing also listed a grill for use— there was no grill and in the end the only thing we got was a simple ‘sorry’ that was our mistake, not the owners. We will stick with renting from Ward.

Beautiful house. Linens already on the beds which was awesome. Keypad entry great allowing us to avoid the crowded check in and out process. Able to talk to a person when there was a minor issue. Would definitely recommend Carolina Retreats.

We had a wonderful week with beautiful weather.The Appel Cottage was a great destination. It is well appointed and carefully maintained. Would not hesitate to stay here again,One suggestions:1. The internet service was poor. Having stayed at many cottages on Topsail, I can state with certainty that their Internet service was not one we have ever seen before but it had the worst reception,

House and large deck are very nice. I fell on stairs leading to basement laundry and injured myself. And two others tripped at same location- the bottom two stairs. Coffee pot needed replacement which was done promptly on Monday morning when we requested. The outdoor shower is so very nice most of us used it instead of indoor shower all week. The kitchen is nicely furnished w tools and dishes/glassware. The bedrooms are good size and master br is large with a walk-in closet. The bathrooms are large enough The full size washer dryer are great.

Terrible Management Company-We are an owner of a property managed by Carolina Retreats and once Mike Harrington sold it the service/lack of service is terrible. Our vacationers are having terrible experience with poor cleaning, broken items, etc with no response. Their property maintenance claims to inspect after every rental and we hear from tenants about a ton of sand on the floors, broken items, etc. The maintenance company even glued a loose faucet to marble rather than get under the sink and tighten the nut. Real Shoemakers. My wife emailed Danny Williams and still no response. Stay away from these people.
