Is carmarthencameras.com Legit?

I ordered a brand new printer off Amazon - paid for delivery and it turned out Carmarthen Cameras were fulfilling the order.This was meant to be a Xmas present and it arrived via an eBay box.!Unsealed Canon parcel on the inside so who knows where this "brand new" order had come from? To add insult to injury - I had to pay to return a parcel I had already paid Amazon Prime for. Sorry for whoever Carmarthen Cameras palms this off to as a "new product" but it clearly wasn't.

I placed on order on Friday 3 Jan 2025 which duly appeared as a pending charge on my credit card. It was before 3pm so same day dispatch was promised. On Saturday 4 January, seeing that no dispatch confirmation had been sent I followed up my order status only to find it had been cancelled, no reason given, charge still pending on my credit card. There was no proactive follow-up communication from the supplier to inform me they had unilaterally decided to cancel my order. I contacted Camarthen Cameras and after lengthly discussion the customer service operator couldn't give me a reason other than 'it had been automatically cancelled by the system'. He did not understand why, so could provide no constructive feedback about what the issue was and if it would recur on a subsequent order. Not wanting to go through the frustration a second time I have decided to let the order lapse and search for a more competent supplier. Please be aware of this issue if you decide to place an order with this supplier.

I drove three hours each way to collect a lens that other suppliers had let me down on delivery for. A quick phone call to Joe who was immensely helpful and sent me a cart link with the order pre-filled. He couldn't have made it easier. On arrival I was promptly sorted with the lens and splashed out on a second, used zoom lens while I was there. Their website will be my first stop for camera gear going forward - had I called them just an hour earlier yesterday they could have arranged next day delivery so no reason at all not to start here in future. Customer service lives!

Carmarthen cameras offered the best price for my Zeiss SFL binoculars. When there were some after sale issues, no fault at all of Carmarthen Cameras, Andy really could not have been more friendly or helpful. I fully intend to make them my first place to look, when I buy optical equipment in future.

I have purchased several items from this company and have always received a top notch, professional and friendly service. I recently decided to upgrade my Nikon DSLR and decided to go for the D850. From my initial contact via email to my visit to the shop I can't fault them, I would thoroughly recommend visiting the shop so that you can pick the brains of the knowledgeable staff. So much better than some of the bigger stores out there. Will certainly visit them again.

An really good experience. I ordered a Foldio 2 Plus Lightbox. The item was faulty and Tim and Sean were incredibly helpful. Instead of waiting for my item to be returned, they asked for the proof of postage and promptly sent a replacement.The customer experience I had could not have been better. With Christmas looming my tripod broke, but I needn't have worried as Carmarthen Cameras got one to me in good time. Additionally when I discovered that my telescope didn't fit the new tripod head, by the next day, I had a grub screw that enabled this problem to also be overcome. I thoroughly recommend using their services as not only efficient but very friendly and knowledgeable too. Thank you!!

I received the items quickly from Carmarthen Cameras and when I had queries before purchase they were responded to promptly. This changed after purchase. I had an issue with one of my products and never received a response. It seems Carmarthen Cameras only care about the sale. I wouldn’t recommend if you’re making a big purchase as peace of mind isn’t provided.

Great prices and service - ordered a D7500 body on Fri 1st July with an expected delivery date of Tue 5th (happy with that) - It was actually delivered lunchtime Sat 2nd July - very, very happy - well done to all involved. (had to laugh, the spare battery from Amazon (because they were out of stock) took longer - arrived Saturday evening . . .) Definite repeat customer here!

Carmarthen Cameras is such an amiable and helpful company! My 14 yr old brother bought a telescope from them, and Joe was very helpful and knowledgeable about the best one to get. He helped him set it up and understand everything about it. Having had such a pleasant experience previously, it was a no brainier to get my Canon EOS R50 camera from them too. Their prices are extremely competitive, their stock is vast. Krish was very helpful and knowledgeable, when advising me on what accessories I should get for my new camera, and gave me a very fair price on my part exchange. Carmarthen cameras are a very good company to deal with and all their staff are great! I would highly recommend getting your cameras and telescopes and anything else from Carmarthen Cameras! A hiccup over my camera order was promptly sorted out by a personal call from the manager with apologies and an immediate resolution. Product arrived next day with good communication from the courier. Very happy customer. Among all the importing companies, it’s great to find a proper UK business with people you can talk to. Would buy from them again.

bought a drone for £4300, returned as found better price available through amazon, they received it back in un- used mint condition and said I owe a 50% restocking fee because I had opened the box it was in, they wanted over £2150 for an open box. they still refused to refund me when I said this was a scam and in the end amazon actually refunded me, avoid these scam artists at all costs. bunch of con artists, they even had my previous trust pilot review removed, only because im checking regularly that im posting again!

Purchased a Westcott backdrop from Carmarthen Cameras via their website. The price was the best in the UK, the standard delivery was free (excellent for a bulky backdrop) and it was with me the next day. I called to get an electronic copy of the invoice and it was in my inbox within an hour. Excellent service!

Victoria and Krish were absolutely amazing. They answered all my questions to the best of their ability regarding my R5 with impact damage. Victoria - I spoke with Canon regarding grey imports and they confirmed the will repair items at the regular cost but not under warranty. You said you hadn't had many grey imports come in so hopefully my experience will help! You guided me in the right direction to organise the repair. As promised, I said I'd let you know the outcome. The LCD, Hinge and outer shell needed to be replaced £200 for parts and £220 for for labour so £420 total. You were super helpful and patient. 10/10.Krish, you helped asses the damage and you also helped advice me on camera cleaning gear. Again you were super friendly and patient as well. Best customer service I've ever experienced. I would definitely visit again for my camera gear purchases.

Recently purchased a used 'Canon Powershot G1X ii' from Carmarthen Cameras. I was served by very helpful staff, and the camera is what must be 'Excellent/Mint' condition! Highly delighted with the store, staff and camera.

Fantastic service from these guys. Placed an order on Weds before 3pm and it was shipped the same day and delivered the next day at no extra charge. They were the cheapest store for the product that I was after. I'd definitely recommend using this company to anyone

I have made my purchase online, and had some issues with camera compatibility, however Andy was so helpful and knowledgeable and problem was resolved very quickly. Definitely recommend this shop as it has everything you need and beyond!
