Applied for PIP after I had a lifelong DLA decision they believe I am fully cured. So this last attempt I asked them to record the interview and guess what, they have lost it!! Luckily I recorded it too and this time I am not giving up and I intend to call them out on their lies. This is a shockingly bad service and I am going to complain to everyone who will listen. Living with a disability is hard enough, this should not be allowed.
Rougue company, no one should trust them. The customer relations will contact you at a time outside your specified time you have given them to contact you. They also leave voicemails without actually calling you. Extremely deceptive people, they can do what ever they like and get away-thanks to DWP!!!!
Zero stars ive just read about staff that hate working for them.Ive had 2 full assements had the last one recorded went on for 1 hour 50 minutes so almost 2 hours had it recorded.Been advosed that the adviser could not contact me and a full assesment (3rd) will need to take placeComplaints system is a joke they investigate and come back with weak line excuses cover for each other. I have taken my complaint to My MPThey now looking to see if a paper review is possible but they really should not have the contract with the DWP incompitent and policies are out of line
Why does the government and watchdog look into the way capita medical associations assessment employers to lies deception reports used there own staff to act as medical professionals too many cover ups DWP systems and staff will be exposed like the post office scandals might take years but mark my word god willing it will come to pass from Capita to DWP and the last Government you will be name and shame
PIP assessment was done badly by making several errors on their booking system, then they referred me to a 'paper based' one as they simply could not get me a telephone booking (obviously because I work they discriminate against this). Complaint made but they were done just as badly! They apologise profusely but assure me their robust processes should make me feel good about them? They really got it wrong with me. big time! And when I say big time I mean big time! They must think we don't know they have had as much bad press as Boris Johnson in recent years!
I have Ankylosing spondylitis and many other conditions which impact my life. I have just had my pip downgraded to no payment. I must be cured then. My body forgot to tell me that this morning as I crawled out of bed in utter agony.
The assessor miraculously cured my condition of 20+ years. After struggling to walk and needing a hip replacement since my early teens, the assessor ignored my medical evidence and decided I no longer deserved to be awarded PIP. I complained to CAPITA to be told the assessor did not remember my case therefore there was nothing to answer to. I use my PIP to pay for transport and to give myself a better quality of life, if I was using drugs or an alcoholic no doubt I would have been awarded the higher level.I have suffered severe anxiety as a consequence of a sub-standard assessment and an assessor who did not read or listen to any of my information and ask the right questions. My assessment was an afternoon and she obviously was in a hurry to finish.This company is shocking and I have been treated abysmally. I am still waiting to get re-assessed.Shame on you CAPITA
A multitude of errors with this company. Firstly, they wouldn't accept my diagnoses as of apparent 'outdated'. When diagnosed with two of my conditions there is no up to date evidence, and diagnosed for life. So would not do a paperbased. Then messed me about with arranging an interview. I requested from start I wanted it recorded. Yet, Capita failed to see this. And tried to give me a video assessment where they don't record those. Then I had support to attend the telephone assessment, a proper benefit advisor who does not work at the weekend. For then them to change the appointment for a Saturday even though they were told in advance. Then it was rescheduled for a day my support was on annual leave. I had the assessment. The assessor lied and made up stories, and ignored a few of the factors that she failed to tick to award me what was needed. Also the fact I have 2 progressive illnesses and a lot of other conditions that the assessor believes I will recover. I will not. Also that I had the assessment recorded which does not match what the assessor wrote in their report. I complained to Capita on multiple occasions, 1. They never looked in to it properly, 2. They lied, 3. They fobbed me off. After asking for the complaints to be looked at again, they never got back to me. Capita and their assessors do not understand most conditions, they should not be doing this. Atos was bad enough. I know the system is designed to stop people claiming but, when you're genuine they should not be treating you like this. The whole process since Capita had been asked to assess me took 4 months before they sorted out an assessment that fitted with me. Also it made me unwell and it stressed me out so much. At least when I complained to Atos they actually investigated and realised mistakes. Oh and to add about the assessor they didn't ask me a lot of questions to do with the forms. Questions that didn't need to be asked. Also one of the main questions is if you can go to places you don't know, this was not asked. I am not and I don't go to places I don't know. Yet, the assessor answered this herself with her made up story. I had it recorded. Also the form stated I don't attend places I don't know. The whole thing was a farce and was absolutely disgraceful. They should be made accountable. Hopefully, a new and better government will change how we are treated. Capita and the DWP need to understand progressive illnesses and stop believing that we will recover. Also the amount of calls I made to these was stressful and mistakes still happened. Funnily, one of the call staff knew I wanted it recorded without me mentioning it. Yet, in a complaint response I was told I did not ask for it to be recorded. I did, and first mentioned it in my form. Also the call center staff knew.
After arranging an appointment which they failed to meet and had cancelled without any warning I had to ring to arrange another app. Of which they did not call on the give date and time it was a Sunday so was unable to ring and find out what was going on. Rang the following day to be told 'i can see it's nothing on ur side I'll send it to be investigated and to ring back in a few days. After ringing back I was told that it's been sent back to somewhere else and I'd have to go through the same process again. I personally have been suffering for years and it took a lot to even call as every time I did I was on hold for a very long time for me to even go through this process for many reasons. My health is on going. And I'd rather keep suffering than go through that process again.
I put in a claim for PIP due to my medical conditions.I asked for a telephone appointment.They sent me an appointment about an hour away at a clinic! I rang and said that wasnt what I was told Id get, they said theyd have to send it back to DWP for them to start it all over again......so another long wait. Heard nothing, rang them back. They agreed a telephone appointment on a particular date. When I got the letter - AGAIN it was an appointment at a clinic in a different County. I rang again, they then gave me a telephone appointment on 18th at 09:30. Great, i thought, getting somewhere. I cleared my work diary (turning down paid jobs to get this done). The confirmation letter arrived telling me the appointment was now 19th at 10:30........when I had an oncology hospital appointment . APPALLING service.
Ok , so interview by telephone went as expected BUT kept being stopped when answering questions as interviewer butted in saying " Sorry we have to move on , as we have alot to get through " ... In essence a poor interview as unable to speak about all relevant information..
My husband has been waiting for pip since 28/09/2023. He has issues with his spine, what effect the use of his arms. He also has pains all over his body, especially in his lower back. The smallest daily task finishes him off for the day. He needs my help with most everyday things. He's been suffering from his multilevel degenerative foraminal stenosis and disc bulge with compression on his spinal cord since 2015. He had several MRI scans, spoken to his GP and physiotherapist frequently. He's been through physiotherapy, acupuncture,.... He had an assessment with a NURSE in December. We both attended. We told her everything exactly how it was. We had the assessment audio recorded. The report what the nurse wrote is full of lies. She asked my husband during the assessment, if he was in pain?(He can't sit in one position for long, due to chronic pain)He said yes, 7/10. He was visibly in pain. On the assessment report she put down, that my husband was comfortable during the assessment. She asked my husband to do certain movements with his arms, what he tried to do ,but refused due to pain. She wrote on the assessment, that he can lift his feet off the ground, so his upper limb movements are adequate. She didn't take anything we told her into consideration at all. How can a nurse, who knows nothing, who is not qualified,who is there to take blood and check blood pressure go against medical evidence and specialists? Absolutely useless! I contacted Capita, to look at the assessment and listen to the recording, to see the mistakes she made and to rectify the assessment, but after weeks of waiting, we received a letter, to say, that they found nothing wrong. How shocking! This company should not exist! Someone really needs to look into what they're doing to people! They are unprofessional liars!
I had my phone consultation for PIP, had a courtesy call the day before to remind me & was asked if I would take part in a follow up survey after my assessment which I agreed to.I found the nurse 'Kath' professional but she asked so many 'trick' questions. I did record the interview to compare with what was actually said & what Kath had actually written. Basically I was not really in need of PIP according to the report. Kath really didn't understand how my condition works. Before she started she told me it would be about 20 minutes, it turned into 1 hour & 20 minutes. She had a clever way of wording things. As people are aware it is split into various categories, what Kath did instead of completing one category she dipped in and out cherry picking bits and then going back to the same thing. First question "do you have any pets?" Make of that what you will. After the assessment Kath left me feeling shockingly bad, having a neurological condition the way the assessment was conducted was really unacceptable.Now I have to decide what further action to take regarding how 'Kath' was with me.The follow up survey? Never happened.But I did get PIP, not what I was expecting but I am grateful I got something.PIP needs an overhaul. The amount of government revenue Capita must be receiving it should be able to match the 'professional' with the condition & not some random Johnny.In the words of Alan Sugar, "Kath, you are fired!"
If you give incorrect information on your pips claim form you would be liable for prosecution, however Capita are allowed to do so in their report by putting in questions and answers which were never asked.So I suggest you have your interview recorded by them and yourself if possible because these people are so untruthful.
Assesors are deceitful,unprofessional, lack knowledge of conditions, they make assumptions, fabricate assessments, add things that have never been said, ignore evidence, lack empathy and respect.Shameful how they are getting away with treating disabled people. How is it even legal? Its blatant discrimination.

Pending upon the data furnished they try to assist if there’s any chance that a deduction is available to address medical evidence though have had rather unpleasant experience recently with mobility removed after awarding it till 2026 after had updated DWP with current medical evidence of futher issues though resultsin loose of mobility when was asking to add more information about medical condition that will impact upon my health as required extra assistance for living with Osteoarthritis going rampant in last two years ..
Only waited 3 weeks for a face to face appointment and got results straight away
Well I'm totally gobsmacked how do capita keep getting the contract for doing telephone assesments their assesors lie through there teeth and ruin peoples lives I have stage 6 fibromyligia and chronic fatigue syndrome and I'm also autistic and moderate dyslexic and sufer with bad mental health and anxiety and panic attacks 3 of these are life long conditions and my telephone assessor lied and said my needs had changed totally not true but its had dire consequence for me all she could say is she had no idea about my conditions and that her fee she gets for doing the assessments boosts her nursing wage this is criminal I spoke to a guy at dwp today and he said all the complaints are people who have had assessments done by capita I've done a complaint against my assessor but doubt ile here anything just shocking now got to go to tribunal again
Do not trust these people, they are nasty people.
