canadalightingexperts.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives canadalightingexperts.com a medium-risk trust score on the platform: 65.2. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Known. Vetted. Low Risk.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 65.2 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to canadalightingexperts.com's industry. The algorithm detected a slightly lower risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, noted in the Known. Vetted. Low Risk. tags above. Long story short, we recommend staying vigilant and using common sense when engaging with this website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning canadalightingexperts.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between canadalightingexperts.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of canadalightingexperts.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of canadalightingexperts.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. canadalightingexperts.com is likely a safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether canadalightingexperts.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether canadalightingexperts.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, canadalightingexperts.com.

“My order was cancelled without my consent and I still incurred costs”

A month after I ordered my products that order was cancelled because I was told they would not ship to me, but there was no explanation of why. I was reimbursed but still had to pay the $25 exchange rate change/fees for the currency change. Customer service was super challenging and only available on online chat. All they said was 'sorry' and that they were not going to do anything about it. I would strongly recommend avoiding this company. Service

“Terrible customer service”

I ordered outdoor light fixture it was delivered and as soon as you touched the box you could hear broken glass. They sent me a return and how do l know that the styrofoam it was packed in was ripped in half? Before you send out something make sure it is not broken and not a returned item. I should have known better there is no customer service. So disgusted l would never recommend anyone buy from them Tip for consumers:They need. To have someon you can talk to and customer service is terriable Products used:Did not use it came broken Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Buyer Beware”

The specification information on their website for the product was incorrect. It said width 6" though when I got it I saw that the width was in reality 4.75" and did not work. It cost me $65 to return the two sconces because of THEIR MISTAKE. Don't trust anything they write.

“Terrible Response Time”

I canceled my order within 10 minutes of realizing it was billed in USD. Nearly two weeks later I heard back from someone indicating that it is now too late to cancel but they'd be happy to let me know how to return the items if I decided not to keep them. It's almost impossible to reach a real person beyond email. Service Returns

“Do not support their customer, product parts missing.”

I ordered two ceiling fans plus an extender. The first fan arrived without any of the hardware or instructions. This was in badly damaged box. The 2nd fan arrived days later in another badly damaged box (so bad that even Fedex took a picture). But it did have all the components and instructions. Since May 25th, we have made countless calls to Canadian Lighting, they open a ticket but nothing happens. We have also phoned Quorum who says they cannot help as we went through Canadian Lighting. Note the instructions say to call the manufacturer immediately if parts are missing. So now we have called the distributor who indicates it did not go through their warehouse but she will reach out to both companies and try to help. BTW. The extender rod has never shown up either. So i would not recommend buying products from the manufacturer or via canadian lighting.

“Terrible customer service”

I'm beginning to wonder if I have been scammed. I have waited over a month for my order. When I try to track it there is no info and when I call they are always offline and I get disconnected. If my order ever arrives I will never deal with this company again! EVER! My money is gone but can't reach a person to find out where my product is. Reason I chose this business: I chose Canada lighting experts because after a lengthy search they had a product closest to what I was looking for. Products used:Table lamps Service

“Not a Canadian Company”

Be aware that This IS an American company moonlighting as a Canadian company called Canadian lighting experts and will Charge in USD. I missed that when placing payments and in little letters next to your payment choice it is disclosed. I never in a million years would have paid that price for this lighting. It isn't worth it Tip for consumers:That this isn’t a Canadian company and you will be charged American dollars and you won’t anticipate it because it is called Canadian experts Canadian yet American Service Value Shipping Quality

“Surprised...”

I ordered two lights on Monday of this week. I was skeptical because the lights I ordered were $270 cheaper than a well known lightening store which I have bought from - even with their 20% discount. The two agents I spoke to were very helpful and patient... because I was skeptical and asked a lot of questions. I felt this had to be a scam. Well, the lights came today which is Wednesday - 3 days. I live in Canada and had assume it would take longer than 3 days. Great experience. Reason I chose this business: Price, ease of use. Reason I chose this product: I was just about to buy them in Canada at a significant increase in price. Tip for consumers:Very helpful and accessible and they are a real company. Products used:Bathroom Vanity Lights

“Horrible Company - Buyer Beware!”

I purchased 2 lamps the other day from Canada Lighting Experts - supposedly "Canada's #1 Shop For Residential Lighting". Today I just noticed that I was charged in US funds...not Canadian. I spoke with a horrible and rude customer service rep (Lanel Cortez) who basically said "too bad" and that I can return the package at my own expense. Despite coming across as a Canadian company, they are not. Avoid purchasing from this very deceitful and predatory company at all cost! Service Value Returns

“Website Inaccurate”

I read all the reviews, looked at the overall positive rating, contacted customer service via chat, was aware of US location and payment in USD. All good so I sent in my order. Then... nothing. Looked at my account 2 days after purchasing and saw that my order was refunded. No email. Website still has item available for order. Tried calling customer service and was prompted to enter a passcode. Tried chat but the only department open was sales. Where is my order, etc was offline. Seems you can only ask questions if you want to buy. Turned out item has been discontinued. Make sure item is in stock before ordering despite being able to add to cart and pay for it. It will save you time - ordering, wait for shipment, trying to contact customer service, wait for refund. * CanadaLighting attempted to help this customer through the Sitejabber Resolution Center, but the customer did not respond

“Do not purchase from this company”

I requested to purchase an incandescent light fixture - the details of the product on the website was listed with such details. They sent me over 3 units that are LED integrated. I called the help desk and they informed me that this is a mistake on the vendor's part of putting the incorrect product details on the website. I was told verbally that I would receive a full refund and would not bare shipping costs. Once the ticket was submitted, I was told that I would receive my refund when the product is shipped to me. However, they would not be reimbursing me the shipping cost of these three large items. This is completely unacceptable because Canada Lighting promoted a product with the incorrect details and now is expecting the buyer to bear the cost of their mistake. I am still in talks with the help desk but it is not looking good for me. I spent well over 300 dollars to buy all these lights. Completely baffled by the lack of customer experience. Do not buy from them. Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Not a Canadian Company only advertised as a Canadian company”

Use caution as you think you are ordering from a Canadian company, but that is not true. I was charged in USD, and the lights were bigger than I expected (I measured) when I processed my return I learned I was shipping to a US address. Very costly lesson, I am good at doing my homework before I make an online purchase, this one got the better of me. Products used:Lighting fixtures it is important to note you receive full shipping once you pay personally to ship to the US as your not returning in Canda Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Out $200 - DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY”

Terrible return communication- returned two lamps - paid $50 for shipping - and then never got my return. It's been over a month now and no response from the company when trying to reach out for an update. I'm now out $200. Don't trust this company. UPDATE: I checked the order status of my refund on the company's website and they have mysteriously DENIED my refund, without attempting to let me know in any way shape or form. The items were returned in their original packaging, never installed, in brand new condition. There is absolutely no reason to deny my refund. Will never order from them again. Save your money; order from a reputable company with a transparent refund policy and an actual contact phone number. I feel like I've been conned out of my money by a bunch of crooks. Products used:None, I returned them. I had originally ordered 2 flush mount lights for my kitchen, were turned out to be too small, hence the return. They were never installed. Both were in their original packaging. * CanadaLighting attempted to help this customer through the Sitejabber Resolution Center, but the customer did not respond Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Received wrong product”

I have requested an address/packing slip so I may return the incorrect item. I ordered an item in November 2019. Received the wrong item January 9 2021. I have emailed several times, including photos of both my invoice of original order and the box which indicates its contents on the sides. Yesterday I received an email indicating that since I have not responded my case is closed. I have tried calling- only to receive an answering service instructing me to email. Any advice? Also - "overall rating". I left blank as in zero stars. I was unable to submit return unless I indicated "a star". I would not recommend this company. Tip for consumers:Don’t Products used:None. The product remains in a box. I feel I lost $200 Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Brutal”

Shame on me. I read the reviews and still ordered. The ratings on this site are likely fake because if you look elsewhere their reviews are terrible. The 25 dollar refund for not receiving your product within a week is PER ORDER NOT PER PRODUCT THAT IS LATE. After 2 weeks my order still has not shipped. I suspect I have been ripped off and they are just stretching the event out. Beware this company is terrible to deal with. My email to them bounces back as undeliverable

“BEWARE - THIS IS NOT A CANADIAN COMPANY”

This company has been terrible to deal with. It doesn't matter how many times you email or call you will never get a customer service agent on the line. They are deceptive in their pricing and very difficult to deal with when it comes to returns. Buyer beware, wish I never found them.

“Caution advised! Zero stars so far”

I ordered three light fixtures from this website and the my order confirmation indicated that the availability of the items from the "warehouse" had yet to be confirmed. Despite this my credit card was charged on the date of order. Six days later I received an email confirming my order "cancellation" - I suppose that this was due to the item not being available in the warehouse. While my credit card was refunded, the change in exchange rate between the date of charge and the date of credit resulted in a $70 dollar difference - in favour of "Canadian" Lighting Experts. I have submitted a complaint to the company through their Help Desk. An email confirmation of my help request has been received indicating I should hear back within 24 hours. So, stay tuned and I will update my review based on the response and outcome. Products used:None, as my order was cancelled by Canadian Lighting Experts. Service Value Returns

“Never”

6 weeks later, no light and they keep providing tracking numbers that are all over the place a new location everyone is on the tracking number. Such a horrible company, the good reviews must be owners or fake! Tip for consumers:They charge in US, and say they are Canadian company, horrible Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Frustrated with shipping”

I ordered 4 lights. Three are on delivery and expected to arrive in another week (this is over two weeks from ordering in-stock lights). The fourth light is "missing". The only thing good about this is that I can get the lights I wanted - not sure when they will ever arrive. If you are ordering from them be patient, but follow up quickly so that issues don't arise. I was too trusting. Lightless in Calgary and still waiting over three weeks later. Tip for consumers:If you want items per their schedule make sure you follow up diligently. I waited a "week" for it to clear customs and then they lost one of the lights. I ordered from another manufacturer on the same day from the US and the light is waiting to be installed. Products used:Haven't received product - after almost two weeks from an instock product. Service Shipping

“Very Poor Return Policy”

Canada Lighting should take advice from Amazon for customer service. The cost and inconvenience of returning a light fixture has made me return to the stores that have free refunds for lights that don't suit the space. I won't shop at Canada Lighting again.

“Not a Canadian company!”

As stated by many customers, in the fine print buried in the website it states item are sold in US dollars. Your credit card is charged in the day of the transaction, regardless of delivery delays. They also charge your credit card even though items are not in stock. I have been waiting two weeks for a refund for an order that should never have been applied to my card. I am a very unhappy customer.

“Not a good company”

I ordered two light fixtures in mid Feb 2017 and to date have not received them. I also thought if was a Canadian company and got a good quote, later to find out that I was charged in US funds and they are being shipped from the US. Last week I emailed and asked where my order was, nothing. Finally got an email and they just did up the way bill today, they haven't even been shipped yet. Never again will I order from this company, for one thing NOT who they say they are! I just hope that I like the fixtures when they get here.

“Damaged package”

I have ordered a bathroom vanity light. After one month of waiting, I have received a broken package. One of the 3 bulbs was missing and I am still fighting with Canada Lightning to have them send me another bulb. This is a lost of $300.

“Return policy terrible - they are NOT Canadian”

Return policy is one of the worst in the on-line industry. The $1,100 purchased chandelier was defective - half the sockets were not working and the bulbs would not stay in the sockets. It smelt like burning rubber when turned on. When attempting to return they stated that we would be required to pay for shipping - back to the states... (so much for Canada Lighting). Final after many heated conversations with their staff they relented and agreed to pay for the return. A refund was finally paid after several calls threatening to report Canada Lighting to Master Card. Refund was received 30 days after return. Will shop with reputable online companies in future Amazon, Wayfair, Overstock) in the future

“SCAMMERS”

SCAMMERS I placed an order for some exterior wall sconces. The site stipulated they were in stock. Once they processed my credit card, they send a notice that the product was back ordered 3 months! Lotsa luck cancelling the order. I waited on the phone for hours, no one ever answers. Sent emails, no answer. Finally found the obscure cancel button on a link they place on their order confirmation email. They respond by sending a notification that they will reimburse 246$ of the 546$ they stole from me. With no explanation. (still waiting for my card to be credited by the way!) Thank you, lesson learned They insinuate they are Canadian to prey on our sense of trust. They claim the product is in stock They make it very difficult for you to cancel your order despite their fault. If all else fail they issue you less then half your money back. Do your self a favor and purchase from your local Canadian lighting store.

Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet.
