bugmd.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives bugmd.com a medium trust score on the platform: 54.20. It signals that the business can best be defined by the following tags: Questionable. Minimal Doubts. Controversial..

We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this low score? We came up with the 54.20 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to bugmd.com's industry. The algorithm detected possible high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Questionable. Minimal Doubts. Controversial. tags above.

Long story short, we recommend using caution when using this website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning bugmd.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between bugmd.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of bugmd.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of bugmd.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below.

A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns.

bugmd.com is a dubious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether bugmd.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether bugmd.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, bugmd.com.

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Our staff verifies this service works and is trustworthy. It costs only $6.49/month but is worth the cost. U.S., UK, EU, Swiss, and Canadian residents only. Click below.

Are You the Owner of bugmd.com?

If you own bugmd.com, we would love to hear from you. However, if you would like to challenge this review and trust score, we are more than willing to take a deeper look, but be prepared to offer solid proof of your business. Please introduce yourself first (your name, not "Admin"). Consumers are smart. Typically, they don't trust websites that don't show transparency, such as the location of the business, team, or any other physical existence.

When domain owners contact us to challenge the trust score of their website on our website Validator, we would kindly ask them to share some of the following things:
* Details from their ecosystem that would show that they are 100% trustworthy (certificate of incorporation, business registration, official records showing the name of the website or business, etc.).
* Their personal profile on LinkedIn and social media accounts for the business on Facebook.
* If possible, some screenshots/proof of satisfied clients (not testimonials on their website), proof of inventory, canceling orders when requested, etc.).

We are more than willing to update the review right away—the more proof you show, the higher the trust score will be.

  1. I initially thought this MD product was a great idea for the unlimited roaches trying to live in my home. But after I received it and read, I realized I needed all types of PPE just to use it AFTER they say it’s supposed to be Natural? wow, really?
So I found something else that works awesomely, kills anything moving by just spraying on them without any PPE, it stinks but it works….did I say awesomely?
But now they keep charging my card a monthly subscription and when I try to sign onto their website, they keep saying that any and all emails that I try to sign on with is Not in THEIR system, imaging that? And yet they keep charging my card. So I’m gonna have to go around another way.
Do Not Order from BugMD…..SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM

    1. wow thank you for the info and i was checking out the site about scam. now i will not buy from bugmd i will try something different

  2. I ordered the package of VAMOOSE! for a mouse problem I’m having well I have more mice now than I did before! It’s garbage do not buy this product!

  3. Frank Huminski

We purchased this product in the hope that it would help resolve a roach problem without adverse consequences to the family pets.

First, when the product arrived from BugMD (not Amazon), consisting of 2 bottles of concentrate and the spray bottle in a shipping bag, it quickly became apparent that at least one of the bottles of concentrate had leaked, as everything inside the bag was wet and smelled of cloves.

Not a good start. Strike one.

After rinsing everything off, the directions then require you to mix one 4 oz bottle with 27 oz of water – resulting in 31 oz in a 32 oz bottle. My complaint is not one of quantity, but rather that most people will either fill the bottle to the top or be unable (or unwilling) to measure 27 oz, thereby diluting the product and likely rendering it less effective.

    Strike two.

Ok. I combine the two bottles so I have one with 4 oz and one with about 3 – 3.5 oz, and mix the 4 oz bottle with 27 oz water. I empty my kitchen cabinets and drawers, clean them, allow them to dry, and liberally spray them with the mixed product. I allow it to dry, and reload the cabinets. Over the next few days, I see no change in roach activity. No dead bugs, and bugs still in the cabinets and drawers. I add the second bottle, hoping that perhaps a higher concentration will be more effective.

Spoiler: It was not. Strike three.

I had hopes for this product, and they have been dashed. I will not be purchase any more of this product, and cannot recommend anyone else purchase it. I will return to using Zevo products, as they have proven much more effective, are cheaper, and do not require mixing. If zero stars was an option, this would be my rating.

  4. Do NOT buy from bugmd.com! They use fraudulent type practices. You get automatically signed up for subscription, which means they keep your credit card information on file. You do NOT get 100% money back, they keep 15% to 50% of the original charge. Boycott this company! Tell your friends.

    1. Tracy sherman

I bought the product and paid over$60.00 and get this never received the product and they will not refund my money at all.
I am very angry over this.

  5. BugMD is slamming me with subscription orders which I did not sign up for.
This is unacceptable. I don’t like this. what a pain in the A ___ trying to get my money back and stop this from happening every month.

  6. My comment is I entered a wrong digit while typing in my cc and within literally 3 seconds after the pop up told me that, I received a call from “scam likely” I declined the call, it rang again I decided again, the third time I answered and since I entered all my information the rude guy from the foreign call center was basically demanding to help me complete my order. After politely trying to say no thanks , he wasn’t having that, he kept talking over me again and again until I just hung up. He tried calling me back twice so now I’m not gonna buy their sh*t. It might be the best thing since sliced bread but nope. Why does a company that claims to be shipping out from California use a Indian call center with the high pressure sales tactics? Sorry for the long rant.

  7. The spray bottle states “if on skin;
wash with plenty of soap and water….Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. The web site states, :Just imagine… Spraying BugMD in that kitchen drawer where you always find two or three roaches running around. Which is it? Safe next to eating utensils, but wash well after spraying? It doesn’t make sense

  8. I ordered moth traps. So far they have not worked – but, my real problem with BugMD is their order scams. Evidently they have it fixed so that when you think you are ordering just one time, you are ordering monthly. So, please be careful or you will be charged monthly &, I guess receiving your product monthly. I have been billed but have yet to receive the 2nd order. Just pay attention to what you are checking when you order. I have seen reviews from other people that this has happened to!!!?

    1. That same thing has happened to me. I have tried contacting the company to tell them that I did not request a subscription and to cancel my order. However, they refer me back to the website, which will not allow me to go in and update my information, find my password or any of the things one could normally do with a legit company. They, instead, offer a 50% discount if you continue. Additionally, they say that there is a 15% re-stocking fee (really? for a couple little pieces of extremely thin cardboard!!) and the customer must pay the return shipping. I’m contacting my credit card company today.

  9. Michael Cleveland

Because of problems inherent in more conventional insecticides, we decided to try BugMD. BugMD is an extremely effective bug killer. It kills crawling roaches almost instantly, takes a few seconds longer to kill the winged variety, but it kills. It does not leave noxious odors or require vacating the house of people and pets for several hours. Mail order service has been excellent. In other words, definitely not a scam and highly recommended.

    1. Jason J Phillips

Mr. Cleveland, I have tried this product and it doesn’t work. My guess is the bug you sprayed it on was either dead or in the process of dying.

  10. I am reporting on BugMD that this company is very difficult to deal with. Overseas operators with very thick accents which do not take time to try to understand what you are trying to tell them, hard to get anyone on the phone, everyone that they transfer you to is in same department and they have you on an automatic refill every month without your permission withdrawing on your checking account for different amounts. I will be contacting other officials about this company.

  11. So I just got off the phone with BugMD.com I am furious with this company. I called to get an RMA for product that arrived that I never ordered. The supervisor insisted that I signed up for their subscribe and save program which is a monthly delivery subscription of their bug glue traps. I said it was either a glitch in their system or it was purposeful on their part because I would never sign up for a monthly subscription. I did not need that many glue traps as I don’t have a household infestation.

The supervisor would not listen to me, he told me that it was not a glitch or there would be others complaining and no other complaints are pouring in. I hung up not happy with what he offered me… which was some percentage off, when I wanted a full return with no restocking fee, and no return shipping fee, for an item I didn’t need and never ordered.

I then decided to search what other people had to say about this company and landed here learning that plenty of others got signed up for auto-orders they did not sign up for. I called back and requested the same supervisor who then admitted to me that he knew that others were complaining online about getting signed up for auto orders they did not sign up for but he insisted that they really did sign up for subscribe and save. The supervisor then asked if I would like to buy more products before hanging up. I told him ABSOLUTELY NOT! I said that I was afraid to try any of their other products no matter how good they sounded because of the way my order of one box of glue traps turned into a monthly order and the company would not admit error or fix the issue to my satisfaction but instead refusing to refund my money in full. I was so disgusted with this company and it’s website that automatically upsales their customers unknowingly into monthly subscriptions that I then asked for a refund for my 1st box which was still under 30 day trial. At first the supervisor said I was not eligible for any refund that I was past my 30 days trial. “No that is not true!” my 30 days still had 3 more days to go. He only gave me 50% back on that box. Based on comments here we shall see if the refund materializes in my bank account.

After dealing with this company’s customer service then the supervisor and reading these comments, I believe this is a fraudulent website and business. That in-traps their customers in auto monthly sales for overpriced junk they know they are not going to get repeat business from.

  12. Bought the moth repellant. It did not work. This week I received a charge for BugMD. I contacted PayPal and they said I had a recurring payment. I never signed up for this. So, paypal believes these scammers. I am afraid this will continue forever. Oh, and they did not send anything for this “recurring payment”. So, payment and no product. Unreal.

  13. Re. the BugMD ordering process. Be aware that once you place an order there are several popups offering you to purchase more items. It is difficult to get out of this loop as these popups continuously occur. I mistakenly selected to purchase & was finally out of the loop but had to call the company to remove the additional items. Their practice appears to be entrapment. You should be able to place an order, review your order & receive a confirmation without entrapping the customer to purchase additional items.

  14. I ordered moth traps and was shown a price of $26.96. I was transferred to PayPal to pay. When I was returned to the site, the price with tax was more than $90 and there was no way to review and cancel. I wrote, trying to cancel within 5 minutes of purchase. No response until several emails later when I was told it was too late to cancel. It took weeks to arrive and I would have to pay return shipping and 15% restocking fee. Total bait & switch rip-off.

    1. Audrey Tedford

Agree, I thought I was paying $38 but turns out it was $38 each so they charged me over $100!! I would not have purchased if I knew that was the case. Grrrrrr

  15. Marcia Jennings

    Bug MD
Has been a nightmare. I ordered the kitchen bug trap for $29. They charged more $92. I called within 24 hrs to cancel. 11:25 am. Received an email I would get a full refund. Then i get an email they can’t refund because it shipped At 8:30 pm.
After long phone calls they said they would refund 50% and the rest when I returned the item. They admitted it was their fault. But still had to pay shipping. I said no. They said to call Fed Ex to cancel, gave me phone# and tracking #. Fed Ex said they had to call. I get DM can’t stop the delivery. Still no address to send back to. Told them I was refusing delivery. Going thru PayPal for refund.
They lie every time I talk to them! Don’t trust them!

    1. Same here. I order 3 boxes of bug strap for closet for over $60. I got a bill every month in different amount. No one answered the phone at customer service. It is nightmare dealing with BugMD. Don’t buy anything from them please. You will be just automatically signed up for the products or services that you never received
