I needed three things for my book writing project - cover design, copy editing, and doing the nuts and bolts of uploading to Amazon. Bookwriting Lane does all of the above for a very reasonable price. For my second book with them, I had a couple of issues regarding what I paid for due I am sure to a change in my contact person. When I raised the issue, it got resolved fully on my behalf, promptly. Very impressive. The continuity of my primary contact person has been great - I am working with Solomon John who is efficient and effective in addressing all my needs, and has been a pleasure to work with. He checks in regularly to see how I am doing and to ensure that my writing project is moving along to a satisfactory conclusion. I am on my third book with them, and am about ready to start on a fourth book. I have a fifth book in the pipeline that I also hope to do with them - and who knows after that. Point is, this company and the personnel I am dealing with have exactly met my needs.

The representative I spoke to was a man. He could not stomach my story. First he went silent and I hung up when he did not answer. Then he simply hung up on me when I called back to tell him why I sought their help to complete my abuse series and get the story out there. This is not the company you want to publish a graphic story. The representatives cannot stomach the truth nor do they want to discuss or hear of the work to raise awareness for abuse and crime survivors. It is a shameful failure on their part.

As a first time author, on the 27th of June, I was optimistic about being able to publish my book by the commencement of the 2024 Olympics. In my immediate quest for a publisher, Book Writing Lane was the second publishing company that I came across. Initially, I engaged in an online chat with them and when they asked me what my book is about, I asked if we could engage in a conversation? I found myself connected with Robert Finch, who has an exceptionally rich tone of voice, one that can be listened to continuously. Robert was my initial blessing. He listened attentively to my general description of my book, and without seeing a single word I had written, he informed me Book Writing Lane was interested in publishing my book. I was ecstatic! When he disclosed the price, it fit within my budget. It was such an unexpected good fortune that I couldn't believe my luck. He informed me that Solomon would me my Project Manager and would contact me the next day. The next day, June 27th, I was blessed to meet Solomon. Solomon possesses numerous positive qualities that few people ever develop. First and foremost, he listens, he pays attention to what you are saying, comprehends the information and does not interpret it through his own lenses. Instead, he understands your thoughts. There is no amount of money you can put on these superior qualities in this business. In addition, he possesses the ability to provide a straight forward answer or observation that generates thoughtful responses. My book is not like any book written before on the subject of the 1972 Munich Olympics. Then after a couple of weeks, Solomon informed me that Dave Newhouse had expressed interest in editing my book, and highlighted that he is recognized as one of the most proficient editors within the industry. I reviewed the first edit on July 25th, followed by two more on August 16th. None of them resonated with me. My criticism of the last two was quite harsh. It became apparent to me that the team's knowledge of events was obstructing my general objective of my book. As I previously mentioned, Solomon is primary focused on solutions, allowing for a shift from focusing on the past to advancing towards the future. I enquired if there were any women on the team. He responded, "Would you want one?" Yes, definitely! Within a day and a half, Solomon said he had one more edit that he wanted me to read. Upon reading it, I was overjoyed. It was written in the tone and flow that I wanted. I immediately contacted Solomon and said, "I want this person on my team." He responded "This editor is a woman." It's all about finding solutions! Upon the selection of my editor, Solomon set up a meeting with Robert for the Pre-Marketing of the Book Launch. My scheduled launch date is set in New York City. NYC has been the literary landscape to countless authors. My third miracle. My book titled Blood and Gold: Athletes, Tragedies, and Dynamism of Peace will be released soon. I have been working on my book for eight weeks, and I am nearing the conclusion of my eighth chapter. My book is significantly richer in depth, accuracy, and impact due to my interactions with Solomon. The assistance of Robert and Solomon has allowed me to fulfill my lifelong ambition of promoting peace through non-violent and creative resolution of conflict. Book Writing lane's travel writing is phenomenal. Their descriptive and immersive content has allowed me to transport my readers to exotic destinations, inspiring them to explore the world.

I think the reviews are bought. This isn’t accurate at all, these 5 stars. I’ve worked with a writing coach in the past, and I have also worked with a scamming publishing business that was very similar to Book Writing Lane. I made it very clear that I wanted more than what the coach gave and I wanted a whole lot better than what I got scammed for the first time. They guaranteed me this was not going to be the same experience. Then they asked for a deposit. Typical. Started August 2023. I got assigned to Sabrina. They cut my price in half and said I could make monthly payments at my leisure. During the fall, I communicated about wanting to proceed with payments January 2024 because Sabrina told me that they would not ghost write for my book (violation of contract) and that the team could complete my book I’d finish writing alone and edit/publish the whole thing in 90 days. So I asked for the fall and the winter to write my own book. Even though my contract said, ghostwriting. Mind you I had written a good 80% of the book by myself already. I just needed help with a few chapters. No can do, said Sabrina. She told me to have the book completely written by myself before getting it to the team for editing. Suddenly, through the winter, I was texting and calling Sabrina and I was not getting a response. Harvey tells me she got fired for misconduct when I got tired of being ghosted by no responses I finally just reached out to the company itself. So another violation of contract… firing my point of contact and leaving me hanging. I told him I wasn’t feeling comfortable continuing payment until I could see some progress as obviously they wasted 5 months of my time. I gave them $150 payment in January 2024 just to start making sure that I could have all payments closer to submission by June 2024 when the book was supposed to be published…. Per Harvey. Harvey told me numerous times money isn’t a priority. No worries, you’ve paid $450 out of $2500 and as long as we get payment completion by the publishing of the book, we are good. Cover of book was awful, and because that’s the easiest job for them, which probably took them five minutes, I settled on some thing that was less than great after numerous crappy options. Because I was tired of them sending me fluffy, pink book cover ideas on a story of a victim and DV. Also they sent me covers with females on it, they need to understand that DV can happen to men too. Absolutely no consideration for the marketing of a cover of a book. Outline was wrong entirely. Never did another one for me. Never responded to my email about drafting another one that was correct. When all was said and done on February 15, 2024…I fired them. All FOUR of them: Harvey, Shane, Veronica, Rebecca and the ghost Sabrina was gone already (who they already fired.) It had been SIX MONTHS & FIVE people had their hands in my story. Nobody ever knew about my book, they all were confused about what the story was even about while pretending to honor and admire my story. They pull the whole “ yes we love your story!” But they never tell you what they like about it. That’s because they don’t know about your story. I tested this theory when talking to Veronica, she didn’t know anything about my story, she kept asking me questions about it. Things I already told other people numerous times. Plus it’s all in an email! By the next phone call or the next person, they had completely forgotten about me, and what we were supposed to be writing about. When I would Express my frustrations, they would get frustrated with me! They have a tendency to talk over you, so you can’t ask them questions or get an explanation. They act like they want to proceed with the overall goal with you, but every week passes, then suddenly a month passes, then suddenly, it’s two months… Suddenly you try to call again and they can’t get to you because the call dropped, they’re in business meetings, or person one is not available so they hand you off to person two, three or four. They took two weeks to send me (3) POORLY edited chapters. It was obvious they hadn’t done much at all. Meanwhile, I have two kids, a husband, two jobs, and I was able to write 12 chapters in 3 months. But they couldn’t even edit three of those already written chapters for me properly?? In two weeks?? When I finally had the courage to say, this is not working, it’s been six months, I do not feel the contract was fulfilled (I put this in writing) “Support” was emailing me back that they had stopped working with me in the fall of 2023 because of payment. To cover their butts on all the violations of contract. Fortunately, I kept everything. Every call, text and a recording! I think they try to get a lot of people involved so you can’t find this stuff. But I had it all. When they got fired, they referred to me as their dear client trying to keep me. Hell no. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!
