boatsfsbo.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives boatsfsbo.com a medium trust score on the platform: 54.5. It signals that the business can best be defined by the following tags: Questionable. Minimal Doubts. Controversial.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this low score? We came up with the 54.5 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to boatsfsbo.com's industry. The algorithm detected possible high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Questionable. Minimal Doubts. Controversial. tags above. Long story short, we recommend using caution when using this website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning boatsfsbo.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between boatsfsbo.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of boatsfsbo.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of boatsfsbo.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. boatsfsbo.com is a dubious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether boatsfsbo.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether boatsfsbo.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, boatsfsbo.com.

Online Reviews of boatsfsbo.com

  • Score: 4.0 stars

“Smooth selling (and sailing) in Puerto Rico”

Excellent and prompt service from Howard and BoatsFSBO. I can't say enough good things about them. We received three inquiries within a week or two from highly interested and financially qualified buyers. No tire kickers here. Two were private parties located in the US mainland and one was a charter boat operator who already had three boats operating out of the same marina in Puerto Rico where our boat was based. Unfortunately we didn't have three boats to sell. We went with the existing charter operator who had employees on site who we were able to immediately do inspections and a sea trial. Very smooth transaction.

“Jodie Goldberg of FSBO STAY AWAY!”

Not really sure what Jodie's role is at boatsFSBO.com. We hired her to list our boat 3-4 months ago. Since then she has cold called me twice to see if our boat is still available... the same sales technique she used the first time we spoke. When I tell her she already has our listing she just hangs up. I'll call her back to discuss and she ignores my calls. Is this good customer service? This site seems more of a scam than it is helpful. Jodie's number is *******780 if you need to file a complaint yourself.

“Waste of money”

Don't be fooled by the made up glowing reviews. Paying $300 to list your boat with them is equal to throwing your money overboard. They will sweet talk you into how many are looking for a boat just like yours… don't believe them!

“BoatsFSBO - Sale”

Howard got my listing up quick. Pictures and description were spot on. I was getting leads from all sites, and eventually sold through The Hull Truth a couple weeks after listing. Fast and inexpensive way to get your boat sold! I highly recommend. Products used:marketing Service Value Quality

“Great service!”

When decided to sell your boat I would highly recommend to start advertising with boatsfsbo.com. They sold my boat recently while having it advertised on two other sites with no results. Excellent service with always prompt response. JU

“Sold my boat with no commission.”

Hi Andy, best decision I ever made in using your service. Tried the brokers but no luck. Sold the 32 Carver Convertible within 2 weeks after you put up the adds. Thank you so much for your great service. I will be telling all my marina friends about your great service, the only way to go. Thanks again, Bill Logan

“FSBO help to sell my boat”

Howard you can remove my C&C 33-2 "Escape" from your listing; she sold as of June 5,2021. It has been less then a year in the works. Thank you for revisions that i sent along to you, and your prompt response at making my listing stand out. I believe the key to our success is your geographical listing on Facebook in the great lakes region. My boat sold to someone in the Chicago area. Thanks, well worth the fee and support at selling without a broker. Service Value

“A stranger recommended this service to me and I am glad they did!”

Worked as advertised. Howard was clear in what he could do to help and how the listing would work. Had several calls within a week and sold our boat within 2 weeks for a fair price. Pleased with the service and Howard's communication. For us, well worth the money!

“Two Thumbs Up”

I used the site after we decided to sell our cabin and boat last fall. Their broad reach of boat listings far exceeded anything I could have done on my own. They managed the ad by keeping at fresh and we were able to sell our boat the first day it came out of storage this Spring. Painless and rewarding, thank you.

“Spam forever”

I listed a boat for sale with this site over 5 years ago, but was not able to sell the boat through the site. The problem is that ever since I receive weekly ads promoting the site. The unsubscribe button does not stop these emails, and only labelling them as Spam has stopped them showing up in my inbox (my spam box is full of them!) Tip for consumers:Boat ad went up as requested. I didn't get any inquiries from the ad. The company then started to send me weekly emails for the next 5+ years. Products used:online ad Service

“SCAM”

I should have read reviews first. I listed my pontoon online and paid the $200. Never heard anything and never saw my boat listed anywhere. After a week or do had passed, A man called from this company wanting me to spend even more money with them. I told him that since it had been so long without hearing from them that I listed somewhere else. He actually go angry and told me that I had just listed that very day and asked why I bothered in the first place! Well, my add has never been listed and they still have my $200. I think they are crooks!

“Bold sold quickly”

Very happy -all was as promised- have already recommended them to other people- the man helped me price the boat and i think that was very important- if the boat is fairly priced it will sell on there

“Sold My Boat in One Day”

Howard called me Saturday to discuss his services, and I listed my vintage Lyman with him. Got a call on Sunday from a buyer looking for a 26 ft Lyman, and he drove 3 hours to see it. Bought it that day. Howard put together a nice listing.

“Worth the Investment”

After doing some research I hesitantly reached out to use this service. After considerable thought I knew it was worth the risk. Today - The sale was amazing and easily was reached to many people. I had interacted over the course of the posting with somewhere between 100 to 200 people. I sold my PWC and have heard from the new owner about their passion for the PWC. The system that is in-place for BoatsFSBO was designed with much thought. The process eliminates the need for a seller to reach out, post 40+ Ads on 40+ different sites and collectively review each site for any feedback. The ONE CON - Postings with contact information does leave the door open for the Nefarious Audience. Meaning, in short - people trying to steal from you and not pay you. I purposefully use a Google number which gives me far more control.

“Selling a Key West 1900”

Andy, thank you for helping us sell our Key West 1900 CC Sportsman. We've been trying for over two years through craigslist and social media posts to sell our boat and with you we sold in 3 weeks! Your site boat questionnaire is easy to use and your communication and quick followup made it a joy to work with you. Tom in Maryland

“Much better than craigs list”

I wasted half the summer with craigslist. Bunch of people who were looking for a free ride on my boat. Boatsfsbo.com sold my boat in 6 days- and another person would have bought it if my first deal fell through. This is the best site by far. I will be buying another boat in the Spring and I will use this site for that purchase.

“Sold my boat the first week”

Howard communicated well, explained how his service worked and what he needed from from me. I just emailed him pix of my boat and my ad text. Howard then quickly did what he said he would do -- listed my boat on several sites, then sent links to my listing as evidence. When I had questions, he responded quickly by email. My '70s vintage sailboat sold the first week. Before listing on BoatsFSBO, I spent weeks on Craigslist and received the typical inquiries who led off by asking for a demo ride and how little I'd take. Howard explained that his service typically attracts higher-quality, experienced, serious buyers, and that turned out to be true for me.

“Boat Sold”

Howard, please remove our ad from the site. Thanks for your help in selling our 1978 Albin 33 Trawler. Your site brought us some quality prospects. I would recommend it to my boating friends. Thanks Larry Mustico West Chester, Pennsylvania.

“Wonderful Job Howard!”

Thanks, Howard wonderful job in selling my boat! Whether it is skill, knowledge or just luck you guys really acme through. Would not hesitate in recommending you service to anyone. The person that purchased my boat drove from northern Washing sate to southern Indiana to pay and pull the boat back home. He seemed to be extremely pleased as well. Thanks, again. Ray

“No headache boat sale”

Smoothest process I've ever had trying to sell a boat. My boat sold 48 hours after Boats For Sale By Owner posted my listing and for the price I needed. I recommend these guys if you are looking to sell, or buy a boat.

“Howard is the rudest person I have met”

I posted my boat on Craigslist and soon got the robot email others have mentioned. It pointed at their website and indicate that the sender, Ramsey Lewis (yeah right!), had used them with success. I filled out the form at the website and submitted it and got a notice that someone would call to get pictures. Soon Howard called to tell me how it works. He was very aggressive in getting my payment ($299) for the ad. I told him I would think about it. He called the next day and I told him I would pass on it. When I told him why, he started in on ME. He was abusive and argumentative about everything I would say and in a demeaning way. He finally said OK and hung up. I would never deal with a company that used such an in-your-face salesperson.

“Stay away is right.”

Made the mistake of placing an add last year. Got no responses. Sold the boat on my own locally. Called and asked to have the add removed. He tried to take credit for the sale and to this day, eight months later, the add is still running.

“Impressively efficient approach”

I had listed my 1960 Mariner Deluxe Utility (woodie) on Craigslist and a stranger sent me a message suggesting I reach out to BoatsFSBO because they'd been very happy with the service themselves. I filled out a profile on the site and within minutes got a call from Andy Young who in turn got me set up in a flash. That was two weeks ago and the boat is already sold (new owners picked it up today). BoatsFSBO's ultra-modern approach did the trick. I'm so pleased that I will likely pass along the good advice I received from a stranger ("pay it forward," as they say).

“Howard sold my Bristol Sailboat”

I could not be happier with Howard's professionalism and willingness to help me with pricing the boat getting pictures on and getting my ads removed quickly when the boat sold. I have put his business card up the bulletin board at my former marina.

“Disingenuous”

I was contacted by BoatsFSBO because I had my boat listed on Craigslist. I certain am old enough to know that nothing is "free." But JUST SAY IT! Look at the very friendly and personal email I got from this anonymous person acting as if they are my best friend! I hate this kinda stuff! Email: Hello- you may want to put the boat on here also- it is how i sold mine- great site- no commission- buyers call you directly and you keep one hundred percent of what you get for it- can't beat it this will take you to where you put your ad on

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
