boardgamegeekstore.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives boardgamegeekstore.com a medium-risk trust score on the platform: 66.7. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Known. Vetted. Low Risk.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 66.7 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to boardgamegeekstore.com's industry. The algorithm detected a slightly lower risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, noted in the Known. Vetted. Low Risk. tags above. Long story short, we recommend staying vigilant and using common sense when engaging with this website. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning boardgamegeekstore.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between boardgamegeekstore.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of boardgamegeekstore.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of boardgamegeekstore.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. boardgamegeekstore.com is likely a safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether boardgamegeekstore.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether boardgamegeekstore.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, boardgamegeekstore.com.

They used to be a player focused site for game related discussions and news. Ever since Trump's presidency, they've been taken over by woke "Orange Man bad" weirdos. They actively censor and ban anyone who doesn't follow their agenda, or *GASP!* defends Trump or conservative values. No longer a gamers site, now it's like a board game version of CNN.
I recently made an account on this site, rated and commented on a game and my account was deactivated without any kind of notice. I confirmed my email address and everything. Other have had the same issue for new accounts as well. How can we trust a business that can just deactivate legitimate accounts the way they are? Do better BGG...
The forums are haunted by extremist left wing moderators who ban anyone for disagreeing or even politely questioning woke views. We need a neutral rival website.
Unfortunately this website is controlled by cancel culture extremists. There was a topic entitled along the lines of "Can we talk about....." and it discussed a female content designer who threw a fellow designer under the bus without making contact first. If you entered the conversation even asking politely about why it was done or what her goal was, you were permanently banned from their site. You could not even contact them afterwards. They are attempting to silence any thought or opinions you may have or even asking questions. There were also folks who made comments outside of the website who were banned there even though nothing was posted there. They claim to want to open discussions to make changes, but they don't let you make a sound.
Website where liberty of expression is not an option unless you are a radical woke person that gets offended by anything. If you have a different opinion from admins you will get banned or suspended. Just the most ridiculous thing ever.
I bought some extra pieces for a fan-made expansion of a boardgame. I ordered multiple different pieces, but I had mistakenly picked the wrong variant of a specific item. You could figure out from context that this variant was wrong. BGG store sent me all different pieces in my order INCLUDING the CORRECT variant of the item I meant to order (without extra charge)! Mind-readers truly.Except for these slightly worrisome mind-reading capabilities, the order arrived timely and securely packaged - nothing was damaged.
There was no other site like Boardgamegeek and alas, from a site that was mainly about boardgames, it's now a cesspool of "tolerant" and "inclusive" people that embrace "diversity" but this very same mob will hammer down on any opinion that leans to the right. Even if it's brought politely and elaborated with an informed opinion. Eg : if you like Trump more than Biden, you're a fascist... said by the BGG-user that's doing exactly what a fascist would do. And it all got worse during the BLM-craze and they have doubled down on their political stance, with one mod being in the front of all of this... Such a shame really... I only "use" the site to keep track of my collection and have lost all interest in interacting with anyone else.
Incredibly politicized and bigoted. No more about games but identity woke politics, and a bunch of racially motivated (e.g. racist?) censors. Skip it like hell if you have children.
I've been on this website forums for a while and I have never, ever seen more tightly controlled forums where mods ban people for just disagreeing with the SJW culture. You get deleted even after respectfully disagreeing with them. The website is full of snowflakes who get easily offended and mods are one of them.I called the mods fascist in one of King of Average videos for their behavior.Surprise, I found myself permanently banned from the whole website the day after, lol. They saw the comment and then looked me up to ban me on their website. Not just the forums, the whole website. How pathetic isn't that? Just proves how ridiculous of a person you must be.
Lots of little expansion extras for cheap, promo cards, some Dice Tower odds -n- ends, game day organizers, way lower than used resale websites. A little candy shop ... for board gamers.
Well, this is technically the best board game resource place on the internet, however their politics around discussions represent very intolerant, biased and radical view. The portal seems to be led by a far left wing moderators that delete any comments they don't agree with - and I don't mean rude or disrespectful comments, no - they delete everything they don't like, even when your point is valid and your post polite. They only accept left-wing point of view and delete anything else. This leads to portal being taken over by left wing, or maybe shall I say WOKE people who engage in their usual witch-hunting activites by trying to cancel people, games or even game designers if they say anything that woke brigade may find offensive - even if it's a totally abstract subject...

One of its moderators insulted me. He/She didnt agree with my view and that was enough for him.
The site has lots of useful resources for board games, such as rule books, rules queries and reviews. However, there are a bunch of left-wing bullies on there who mob attack anyone who dares to see things differently to them. They are very unpleasant to be around and their idea of "inclusivity" basically means anyone like them. They do not respect other people's opinions and are not content to just talk about games. They treat people like they are stupid and are so patronising. Sadly, politics creeps ever further into daily lives, even onto a site about board games.I would stay and fight it but the moderators have a left-wing bias. When a site is more or less the industry standard, and has been heavily adopted by the industry, it should aim to be neutral, to welcome all gamers. Discussions on certain topics see one side, the right-leaning side, deleted from the conversation, so that only patronising and antagonistic comments from the more extreme left wing view are left.Topics that look safe still see people being pulled up for not using leftist language. The left are allowed to insult more conservative views and to make unfounded accusations and to misread even well intended posts. Normal views become a witch hunt and words are twisted by the bullies. Some of these people act as though they are superior when in fact they behave in a very unpleasant, rude way. They come across as though they have some kind of mental disorder, narcissistic in nature. They are intelligent enough to see some wrongs with the world but not bright enough to see the bigger picture and the consequences of their views. They ram their extreme views down everyone else's throat, trying to make everyone else be like them.I don't want to spend my time with such unpleasant people, who bully normal people with more sensible views. The website becomes an echo chamber as more people with conservative views, who don't even want to talk about politics, find left-wing idealogy runs riot on the site with left-wing activists and leave. They also want to control what type of games you are allowed to play, and will mob attack any publisher whose ideaology is the least bit offensive to them and threaten to cancel them. I recommend that people with conservative views avoid this site like the plague. It's a waste of time and energy to even try to deal with these toxic people.I would like to see a rival website where every voice is respected and where politics is kept out of it. Where there are tolerant people who know what inclusive really means.
Great website, good loyalty program, good customer service, fast delivery and great prices.

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
