barclaycard.co.uk Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives barclaycard.co.uk one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 88.6. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 88.6 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to barclaycard.co.uk's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a secure website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning barclaycard.co.uk, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between barclaycard.co.uk and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of barclaycard.co.uk. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of barclaycard.co.uk, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. barclaycard.co.uk is an authentic, safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether barclaycard.co.uk has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether barclaycard.co.uk boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Such a disappointing business service. Ive tried to report what seems like fraudulent activity on my card and literally having now spoken to 4 people, no one seems to care. 2 passed me onto the third who after trying to find my account for 30 minutes, disappeared for a further 20 with clearly no intention of returning to call she couldn't handle. I have had to insist as abruptly as I could 4th time around, to report the entries as fraud. He tried to fob me off to 'contact the company' to see who they are after I had shared I had no idea who they are and can find nothing on line.Incredible.
Very difficult to block a recurring subscription. Should be able to do this from my online account. Update - after I complained they resolved this in the chat.
I had a 3000 limit with barclaycard which I stayed well within the limit for. However, used it for major purchases such as holidays, laptops to gain security/ protection under the consumer credit act - so my card was an important part of managing my personal finances. Barclaycard randomly reduced my credit limit to £750 with no justification. My credit rating is immaculate with no missed/ late/ over limit or other adverse markers - so I was really confused why such a punitive measure on credit limit was imposed. I was able to get a credit card with Halifax with a 7,400 limit so have moved over to them for my main credit usage. No idea why barclaycard would do this to customers, they have essentially lost someone who was loyal to them for no logical reason. Nobody from barclaycard was able to tell me why this happened. Would never ever use a Barclays product ever again.
Insane security questions...Merchant NumberNameTelephone numberMerchant IDTrading NameSort Code (1st and third number)Account Number (1st 2nd and last)Name of bankFull addressthe id number of a march invoice (its july, the account has this)The amount we were invoiced for january... its july! ill get the accounting spreadsheet up.....emailIm changing my direct debit details not launching a nuclear missle come on guys sort it!
I paid an unauthorised bill of £1k+ and closed my account. I kept getting a statement showing I owed nothing so phoned to be assured it was now cancelled only to receive yet another statement many years later showing the card with £0 £0 £0 owed. Once a customer always a customer?.Shades of Hotel California? Its a worry to me as an old man past my sbd. Biden is just a boy to me...
Finally my problem was solved. The patient lady At Barclaycard found I had been sent the wrong card and then the right card was sent to the wrong address. A new card is being sent that should function properly. help lines didn’t work is still a mystery. I will wait a while and the cancel my card completely. I don’t trust them after this debacle
Have currently been waiting 35 minutes for their chat system to connect me. The wait time was advised as 12 minutes, itself unreasonable. The purpose of my attempting to start the chat was to close an account. This will certainly be the case now, if Barclaycard ever deem to respond
Despite paying my bill in full every month and never missing a payment with them or anyone else, Barclaycard have now cut my limit 3 times, the third one making it not worth keeping. I’m a Barclays premier account holder but all they could say was they were acting as responsible lenders. Needless to say will be closing account asap.
Only gave 1 star as could not give 0.Worst company I have ever had the misfortune of unfortunately getting involved with. Even the Executive team contradict each other, do not answer, are hard to reach out to, managers refuse to speak and it takes forever to get an answer to anything that makes sense apart from the boring excuse - it is our process. They are arrogant, do nothing at all to be helpful to a customer and are inflexible and so far have had 2 complaints upheld and we are not even finished yet as they have not been able to give me a solution to an issue that has been going for over 2 months.Avoid at all costs and at your peril - closing my account as soon as this is resolved but I am not holding out much hope.
I worked for a few different banks in 33 years, and retired 8 years ago. I got a new phone number, and because they could not verify it they have suspended my credit line. EVERY other card I have it was very easy to update my phone. I've sent requested information twice to their security team with no resolution in sight. Being a retired banker, I understood that if I didn't provide excellent customer service I would lose customers, which is exactly what they are getting ready to lose with me. I'm just a number to them, a statistic. I'll go somewhere where they actually use common sense. I can't fix stupid.
I tried to commit suicide last year, and I have been recovering ever since. I am classed as disabled pretty much, my credit file was penalised by this corporate greedy joke of a company for 1 missed payment of £5, absolutely disgusting. Pretty sure under the Equality Act 2010 (For Mental Health) this is illegal? "Treat people with the respect they deserve, it says on the phone lines". Maybe you should do the same in return?
Barclaycard recently changed the name of their credit card and all previous accounts were migrated to the new account. Like always I tried to pay my last balance off in full via the automated telephone banking system. Despite having a balance on my last statement, the message said there is nothing to pay. I held on for 40 minutes to speak with someone and the call was disconnected their end. The following day I got through to someone and when I gave them my bank details they said my bank card wasn’t being accepted. It’s the card I always use and was working when I checked it later that day. I tried paying the statement on 5 occasions each time being told there was nothing to pay. Promises of a call back from a manager never happened. I emailed their CEO, C S Venkatakrishnan and got an acknowledgement from their executive complaints team. This was 10 days ago. I have just been sent a text saying my account has been stopped for non payment. This is not the first time Barclaycard have caused me major problems - recently theytook payment twice and claimed I had paid it twice. Once resolved I will be definitely be cancelling my account after 30+years
I do not understand why they are still allowed to operate as a financial firm where the service provided is awful and disgusting. I've never missed any payment ever for the past 10 years, wanted to close the credit card and paid the full balance and I was assured that the card was closed and they've removed the access to the mobile app. To my surprise I've recently discovered that I'm in arrears of £10 which I wasn't made aware of (and they've removed the access to the app so didn't even receive a message or notification). I wanted to raise a complaint but the person on the phone did not want to and ended it up going to the financial ombudsman. Because of them my credit score has now been affected greatly. I highly recommend you to stay away from them, they are the worst credit provider that I ever came across in my life .
shocking service from this company. Virtually impossible to get a card once an old card has ceased. Been trying for months. today decided to try to get a new one. High income, 5 * credit rating, paying by debit order and despite having a barclays account for in excess of 60 years, turned down!!!! No one can tell me why and refuse to put me through to a manager. waste of three hours of my life I can't get back as well as the many hours trying to get a card based on my old one. They obviously do not want business. Dreadful non customer service
I lost my Barclycard debit and credit cards and blocked them July 5 and July 4 respectively. The replacement cards arrived July 16,despite their website stating a card will be delivered in 3-5 days, not 8 or 9 working days.I have been fobbed off by the complaints dept, very hard to reach, as I have claimed compensation for the nuisance caused(unable to shop, etc). They refuse to honour my request and refuse to email me with their rationale, which means there is only a phone call as evidence of the conversations..All set up to deter complainants..I will take this to the Financial Ombudsman.Big bully behaviour by Barclays.I ,like others will switch to more customer focussed, attuned providers.Even their so called "standard service" of "within five working days" is way below best industry standards.
I do not think I can add much to the general dissatisfaction with Barclaycard that you have already read on Trustpilot. The most frustrating point is that the 4 people I have spoken to at Barclaycard do not see having a valid credit card and spending hours chasing the issue with Barclaycard an issue they should fix.[Barclaycard decided to replace my card early on the 5th July, when I chased the new card on the 13th July, Barclaycard could not find a card connected to my account and I was left on hold for 1 hour. When I tried again I was told they would not cancel my card until I had received a new card. This was not true and Barclaycard canceled my card on the 16th July. I was told I should wait for 7 working days after the 5th July (16th July) before they could do anything.]
In May, I tried making a purchase at Wilko.com with my Barclaycard but the order didn't go through and a message appeared saying that they didn't have one of the items in stock and that I needed to remove it from the cart and submit the payment again. I did that, but I was charged for the first try as well as for the second try. Wilko charged me the amount for the purchase that didn't go through! I got in touch with them and they said they couldn't do anything because I didn't have an order number (obviously as the order didn't go through!!!). So I got in touch with my card provider (Barclays) and opened a dispute, which took a long time but was finally solved and they refunded the amount to my card. Now, 2 months later, Wilko CHARGED MY CARD AGAIN! With no purchase whatsoever, they simply charged the amount again from my card! It's absolutely unbelievable that they can just charge you without having processed any purchase on the website, without an order number being registered and without any products being delivered! And now I have to go through that ridiculously lengthy process from Barclaycard to open a new dispute for the same problem! The Barclaycard process to dispute a transaction is the most complicated and slow one and I can't believe they simply allow the seller to charge you again for something that was disputed with proof and solved at the time. I want the refund of this absurd charge!
Received new Rewards Card, followed instructions regarding first use (PIN would be needed) and didn’t work (error message “void”). Tried in a different shop, this time message was “unsupported card”. Fortunately, still had old card, which worked in both shops. Called so-called customer service, which tried first to blame me (wrong PIN) then the two shops. Both suggestions nonsense, and it was clear the person I spoke to didn’t understand the issue. After 25 frustrating minutes, eventually speaking to a supervisor, I’m being sent another new bit of plastic. Fortunately I had not yet destroyed my old card. And for the record, 6 of those 25 minutes was spent navigating a prompt system clearly designed to discourage one actually speaking to a person. Note to Barclaycard: what is the point of giving out a phone number for help with new card when said help is not an option? Dreadful customer “service”.
What lovely service from a gentleman in deli so helpful and friendly. And resolved everything for myself. Did not have to wait long til they answered my call. Thank you for a fantastic service
Would give 0 stars but not an option.Today I have ended a 53 year association with Barclaycard. They changed their account, but I have been unable to access my account for well over a week now. I have contacted their Customer Service numerous times without success. Dealing with their Customer Service is not good for my health or blood pressure, nor very productive. They are not concerned or have any urgency to resolve the problem they created. I closed my account today which is such a shame after all these decades, but the very thought of having to deal with their customer service again was just too much.

“The most untrustworthy card in the world”
Barclaycard are not fit for purpose. They sided with a scam company called Kiwi.com instead of protecting a loyal customer of over 40 years. I will never use them again. They promised to make a chargeback which they didn´t do and now expect me to pay them for something I was cheated out of. Tip for consumers:Never trust that Barclaycard will fight in your corner. They dont care about their customers, only money!
“Credit limit drastically reduced when not in default”
Beware if you only pay the minimum amount required. I have had a Barclay card for many years and I will admit I have been paying the minimum amount for several months (except last September I paid £1,800 off). I received a letter telling me my credit limit is now reduced by £3,500 because I only pay the minimum amount. I believe this will affect my credit score as it will now appear that I have maxed out my card.

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
