Is bandmix.com Legit?

Works pretty much exactly how you'd expect it too, worth at least a month paid to try and find people, I recommend using you're real name somewhere and or some social media handles so people can better reach out to ya 🤘

Both Scott’s from Knife Tricks were connected to Alex and Steve on this app. Highly recommend this app if you’re looking to join a band.

Our band was in need of a drummer and we found him using this site. We did have to try a few candidates before running into Mark but BandMix got the job done.

I did not sign up for a subscription but merely paid a one-time fee to have one of my songs “remastered.” A $10 waste of money but worse - they fraudulently signed me up for a one-year paid membership at that same time. I did not notice until this year (today) when they charged me $100 for a renewal. So far, they’ve stolen $200 from me. I’m reporting them far and wide and also submitting a case to small claims court in my city. They need to be charged and shut down immediately. This is theft. I’m not one to sit idly by while anyone takes advantage of me while directly stealing from my credit card with absolutely no authorization whatsoever.

Signed up to the website, get frequent emails urging to join...which I don't want, I have clicked unsubscribe, written to them directly and had nothing back apart from...more emails asking me to subscribe. I dare not think what happens to those that have paid for a subscription and want to cancel...use FB instead.

Bandmix helped us a lot when looking for guitar and bass guitar players. It's worth the fees to have access to musicians. My only suggestion would be to allow some kind of rating system for musicians so that people looking don't end up with the really bad or flaky players.

As said by other contributors,bandmix continue to fraudulently take payment when you sign up for one month,even when you select the once off payment option it magically resets to a monthly subscription to which our heroes take no responsibility for,beyond useless service,dishonest

Bandmix deserves no stars. It's pointless to pay a platform to collaborate with other musicians if no one responds. I spent money each month for years trying to get into a band and so far it's just a "white's only" platform. I deserve for my music to be heard. And when I get to be successful, I'll make sure people know about useless platforms like these stifling artists like myself.

Captain Crooks. I turned off auto-renewal so that I would not be billed again, but they billed me anyway and took no responsibility for the intentional mishap. They can keep the money, I deleted my account. Fyi, this has happened to other people, Im not that special.

My experience was similar to other reviews. I was enrolled in autopay without it being made clear. The same day, I contacted customer service to ask for a refund (their policy under F.A.Q. is that you can receive a refund within 10 days if you don't use any premium features). Three emails with no response and I can't find a phone number anywhere, and it's been more than 10 days now. I disabled autopay, but I'm canceling my account out of fear that they'll keep charging me. I gave two stars because I actually have made some good connections. But most of them were because people put their phone numbers or emails in their profile (which technically isn't even allowed).

Bandmix recently made a renewed commitment to try to improve its service and this is already beginning to improve the site with removal of previous dormant? accounts and yield better outcomes for its users. But sadly questions still not answered by admin......Also I get bandmix recommendations of other users based soley on my/their age not the kind of music played??? Whats with that? Rules out most of jazz players then and connecting younger with older players with more gigging / recording experience.Someone else mentioned fair pay (I paid) fair play platform but when I asked admin if my messages were being blocked after getting few replies they would give no answer.Free bandmix does not allow nonplayers to upload audio - thats the main difference. But Premium account are not indicated as such so its a waste of time sending messages to people who cannot respond and whose accounts are left up. Ugh. It allows links. The audition function is a waste of time.

This is a great site for finding what you need. We were able to secure two new members for our band!

Unresponsive customer service ... wrote 3 times about a single issue and received nothing back.Watch - if you have a premium status - they set your account to auto-renew.... if you want a refund - you may encounter unresponsive customer service as well

Very comprehensive and concise meet-up/social site for musicians of all backgrounds and interests. If serious about meeting other musicians, surely enroll in the $ version. The 'free' version is limited, and you will miss out and burn time. The $ is valid and has the best value. If you're going to join and sincerely pursue the best of BandMix then sign up for the full enrollment. So many musicians here. Very satisfyingly impressed with the wide range and the ability to search. Regarding your own profile abilities, very impressed here as well. You can upload photos, videos, and sound clips. Searching and setting your search parameters is very easy. Well done!

Bandmix has the feel of a really bad dating site and it's built around the same formula if you want to communicate with e mail you have to become a premium memeberalso no one out of 5 members i messaged me backit seems tom be populated b y people qwho can play 15 instruments,name drop the people they supposedly jammed with,blah blahmaybe if your livng in New York Berlin ,Dublin etc it might be useful but for the likes of me living in an isolated area its about as useful as t*** on a bull

Band mix is seen by many as expensive and hit & miss, I c add n only say that I found three outstanding musicians here and the app & website were great. I’d definitely use bandmix again. One improvement I’d like to see is the search parameters be more accurate. If I’m looking for guitarists, it also gives me bassists outside of my search area. Other than that, I now have an awesome band thanks to this website.

As other people wrote, I made the same experience - I payed and I til now contacted 13 people (or fake profiles..!?). Nearly all of them had the status "active within 24 hours". NOTHING happened! Not even ONE answer! This can't be serious and I recommend not to spend any money there! There are so many things, where lawyers sue people, who copied one little pic in the internet. This here is a "big thing" and no one seems to check this..

Very easy service to use, displays all info that you would need, easy to navigate and contact other bands. I found my bandmates on this site and played with them whilst I lived in Australia. I never would have bumped into them IRL or been confident enough to approach anyone else so I'm really thankful for this service, made my time in Aus that much more special!

“Can be very successful but pricey and frustrating too.”

I did manage to put a band together partly by using bandmix. However the site is not curated and lots of info is out of date. Active over a month ago can mean 5 weeks or 5 years! If you want to send a message it will cost £12 for a 1 month membership. Membership automatically renews so unless you are awake they'll get it twice. New musician notifications seem completely useless, either 10s of miles or counties away, and often lead to inactive members. Improvements suggested: sort the above and ditch members that haven't been active (logged-in) for 12 months (they may be breaking GDPR rules for not doing so).

It has worked for me twice now, however services Are a little pricy... overall I would say it's worth it if you need a particular part of your band filled, both times took about a month too fill our vacancies in my band.

I used the free version if this site and it worked really well. I met incredible musicians on here, made lasting friends and connections. Hooked up with professionals and got paid, legitimate, and recurring session work. I am a professional musician myself so I think my profile attracted genuine offers. Also received offers from people who weren't good matches or wanted free work but I disregarded or politely declined those.

I was really surprised that I hadn't heard of bandmix before as I've been a musician for over 20 years and played in a bunch of different groups. Finding the right cat to fill a spot can be a tricky thing. Bandmix is really well organized and allowed us to find some horn players real quickly. Musicians looking to get serious should check it out.

“Deceptive and poorly conceived website”

It's not for musicians. This is a site only for professionals who want to be in a gigging band. I work professionally and have music as a hobby. This site is not for me and it took me a while and money spent and frustration with the messages that I was paying to use. No real option or chance for connection with other people who play instruments, like music, etc. Waste of everything. Tip for consumers:Don't use this site. No one should use this. “Outstanding”

Maybe it was the lockdown, people seem to have varying levels of success on here, but for me it worked out great. I think it really comes down to what you put into it. I added a bunch of music and a detailed description for what I wanted to do and was able to find a really tight group. We even started working on our own material last week. I never would've met these guys without bandmix, so thanks!

Bandmix wouldn't be making enough greed $$$$$ if they made the site function as it should, because they wouldn't be making money on continual memberships if everyone found band members within 30 days. So they intentionally create lost messages and typical (search for people) website scemes.

My husband Kenny Brent and I used Band Mix for 10 plus years and it really turned out to be something we utilized and had success with. Finding the right musicians quickly when something unexpected comes up or when a long term project was coming up, we found Band Mix was a site we automatically posted on and many times we found a great fit. The profile information is set up so you can really read between the lines if you know what I mean? It was easy to see if someone was hyping themselves to be something they were not. Example one drummer who responded to us had his profile as professional, practiced all the time, could play all genres, a golden find. But he had only played 4 gigs and had pretty much had no live stage experience and Kenny still talked to him and he had no clue to anything Kenny was asking. On the other hand the MAJORITY of the members were upfront, professional and almost by the 1st message you could get the vibe if they were going to be the one. It's so simple to set up account, and profile covers everything you would want to know before an interview if you were a company. So applicants are basically a phone call and/or possibly a practice away. The free site is great for struggling musicians (arent they all? Lol) and after you make a few bucks, sign up for the upgrade and instant access to available musicians not only in your local area, but access to musicians all over so it you need to meet up with one across the U.S. for a gig you are in need of a musician there. Thanks Band Mix for saving us in many situations throughout Kenny Brent's life and career! Tip for consumers:If you can upgrade it is more convenient to access ALL members. Its a small fee and worth it. If you can't do the upgrade you still have many musicians avail to you and even the upgraded member can view your profile and contact you. Also, be thorough on your profile, honest and never say you can do something you can't. A nice hint, put your phone number in a description on profile to make it easier and quick for someone to reach you when urgent need. Products used:We used the site on the "free" version for a year or 2 then upgraded to pro type version for a few years. When Kenny had to take a short health hiatus we stopped and went back to free version. Either way we had alot of musicians to choose from. “Waste of time and money”

Absolutely waste of time, effort and money. Most of the posts you see are not real people but bots, fake accounts as no one ever responds back to your messages no matter what you write ask offer or say, and no one ever contacts you. Yet they will keep advertising day in week out month after month year after year, same profile, all active but never responding to your messages or contacting you EVER. You will NEVER find a musician to work with and will spend hours of your life scrolling these ads of FAKE PEOPLE that DON'T EXIST or are the stupidest arrogant wannabe time wasters who get a kick out of advertising themselves just to get messages to make themselves feel popular but who have no intention of following up. Probably because they are useless musicians or not even musicians or using it as a dating site

A cheesy site that asks for a lot of stupid info (um 'what gear do you own?') that would only be of interest to people who can't actually play. Charging people to list their details and to be able to interact via the site is crazy (they should list for free and make their money via advertising on the site), and those bs auto emails you get every week claiming that '12 people have viewed your profile this week' are just fiction.

When looking for a particular talent or to join a band; or just to find people with whom to jam ~ the site is unparalleled. If you're new to Bandmix or are a musician or vocalist who have not provided a sample of audio clips; DO SO. Seriously ~ you're a singer looking to join a pop band and provide no audio snippets?

If you ensure your profile is relevant, with good audio or video content, it's very likely you'll be approached by someone looking for what you have to offer. There are a lot of people on the system, but the geographic and keyword searching makes it easy to narrow down the results. I would emphasise, it really is worth putting the time in to upload at least some audio. So many people don't do that - the service only works for you if you put some effort in.

After I explained that the site did not work out for me, they refused to refund my RECENT auto subscription. Claimed they would give me the credit on account THAT WAS NOT EFFECTIVE. “Awesome site ti find great musicians”

Been with band mix about 7 months, I first joined the free site, shortly I became a full member, boy is it with the 12 dollars a month. I found a couple of great guys that have lead me to two bands, One classic rock, and the other country. Wasn't looking for either when I started out. If you just moved to a new town (like I had), it can be a little daunting to hit the ground running and find a bunch of like minded musicians to jam with -- but Bandmix allowed me to do just that. Musicians should take a look.
