We have utilized Balboa and had a great experience overall. The application process was very easy and the response was very quick. We worked with Matthew B. and was always accessible and walked us through the process. Our vendor was funded promptly and we had a very competitive rate. We will use this company in the future and have recommended them to our customers as well.

I had an opportunity to work with Mr. Matthew Bramlett for the FF&E loan on the hotel project. He is a true professional who cared for my request and stayed throughout the process from initial call to learn my needs, application, underwriting and final approval. Balboa is a scam company!! They tell you they'll give you a loan at one rate, then send you paperwork with a completely different much higher rate that's not even stated. They will not provide an amortization table or even tell you your principle balance at any given time. I have logged a complaint with California authorities and will also be filing a lawsuite. Stay away from them!!!!

I was given a payoff quote and after our insurance company paid off the FULL amount owed, they still charged me a monthly charge. Then they wouldn't answer their phones, or respond to me. I had to call the manager Venecia who was aggressively rude, she explained that if she runs the amortization for our account, it will show that they took a loss and she will charge me MORE without my authorization... this is the most unethical financing company I have worked with. I also had to ask the manager to lower her voice multiple times.. BUYER BEWARE.

They're very straight forward. I was able to accomplish my goal of getting full financing for a truck purchase. The reps are very down to earth, respectable and work around your schedule. I'm very pleased with my rep Lisa Gargiulo. Even though my entire process was online and over the phone, never once did i feel scared to share my personal information. They're very technical making sure all documents match, correct spelling etc... overall I would recommend them to anyone looking for financing without tons of headaches. An ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE experience. Buyer Beware! We recently completed the payoff of our second lease with Balboa Capital. We made EVERY payment on-time allowing Balboa to automatically debit our checking account. Along the way, they took hidden fees for insurances and even changed one of the lease payment amounts claiming they made an error. At the end of the second lease, we requested the return of our security deposit but instead were sent an invoice for $479 as a so-called "termination fee."Over the past several months, Balboa has not returned any of our calls or responded to any of our emails. We have filed a complaint with the Attorney General.

Matt Bramlett, at Balboa is always my go to guy. He's not only personable and customer service driven. But more importantly he get things done fast. I've used him so far on three occasions and have been completely satisfied every time .

Running insurance scams. Beware they charged me an extra $1050/ month for an insurance fee for not having insurance. I showed them proof of insurance with no lapse in coverage... they NEVER contacted me to tell me they had an expired certificate and I didn't know my broker didn't send over the new policy. I got charged 4 months that's over $4,000... crystal in the insurance department REFUSED to work on adjusting any of the charges at all. I told her this is a huge hit on my company we are already paying outrageous interest with them and she said she was the highest person anyone could talk to and she was not removing a single charge!!! I'm beyond outraged I am almost thinking about defaulting on the bus and letting them have the bus back. Has a Max force engine that's shot anyway. They can have it!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I gave Balboa a try after many years of them calling for our business, I regret that decision. Poor experience all together from the company and the sales person, delay after delay in funding, lack of communication, erroneous payments charged to the wrong account, long holds and dropped calls from customer service. Never again, look elsewhere.

All these five star reviews must be made up. A google search will reveal countless court cases against balboa. I have paid more than twice the amount of my initial financing. They use shady practices. Including bait and switch. We discussed and I intended upon a an EFA and when it came time to sign it was a lease. I had already signed an EFA for another machine and wanted the same terms on a similarly priced machine a year later. Now I’m 3 years in paying 16 quarterly payments when it was supposed to be 8 and they still say I need to buy it out at fair market value.

Your rep kept on calling but I am so scared to give out my social security number because I have been ripped off before for a lot of money. Really bad experience! I was a victim of Wells Fargo credit and also of lenders which my ex employees signed fraudulently. When I finally needed help, your company gave me a good rate to buy equipments that I need instead of renting. Thank you!

Ryan Gray and David White are two of the worst loan officers i have ever had! David was arrogant and rude i felt like he was lying to me didn't care about me or my business just wanted to get as high of an interest rate out of me as possible didn't care if a 2 year loan was bad for me. When he didn't meet an agreed a pond closing date he went off the deep end and yelled and threatened me about losing my $13,000 down payment. To anybody reading this DON'T use Balboa for any financing bad company!

I purchased 2 used work trucks. After paying cash I decided to finance in order to replenish my cash. Other than taking a month to complete the funding I was very happy to work with Tye Malcolm. The email responses were very fast, and possibly thorough to an accountant, but as a business owner, I had to reply to emails to pull the information I needed out from customer service. So I picked up the phone and with a short wait time, my questions were answered.

I was informed that I'm approved but they can't finance the truck do to the owner of the truck had a bankruptcy. Wtf do you say to that. I'm buying the truck you're financing me not him. I had the owner call James him self talking about oh I just said that because what I promised moe a 4.5% finance rate but actually got 8% finance rate and that's why he didn't tell me the truth.

This broker misleads their clients with "Bait and Switch schemes" and use contracts to hide their wrongdoing. This corporation is a broker and not a bank. They are also known as Ameris Bank but they don't service the loans. The actual loan ended up being serviced by Amur Equipment Finance out of Nebraska. The scheme started with a telemarketing call from an account executive called Matthew Kruger to which he guaranteed a competitive interest rate of 6.6% to 7% in providing a 5-year loan. See the text picture from Matthew. Balboa ended up adding a Per Diem charge of.*******% to the monthly payment. The monthly payment actually put the interest rate at 13.423%. My business credit is A-rated so I would have never taken this loan if Matthew would have been honest. I addressed the issue with a Branch Sales Manager Brendan Gibbs to which he continued to defend what is Predatory lending and issued no resolution. Unfortunately, I'm now in a legal battle with this shady brokerage firm. I hope this review will help people decide for themselves.
