Is backabuddy.co.za Legit?

I have been using Back-a-Buddy to raise funds for a music program since 2022. This is hands down the most reliable and efficient crowdfunding service I have used. Big thanks to the BaB team, specifically, Sardiqah, who always responds, almost promptly! She handles all queries and requests professionally and effectively. No hassles at all. Big, big thank you!!

In January 2024, I opened a Back Buddy account to fund my children's university education and was pleasantly surprised by the donations received. The payout process was smooth, with funds split between the two universities and payments made directly to their accounts. However, our circumstances changed, and I decided to close the account. On May 8, 2022, I requested the remaining funds but did not complete the urgent payout forms as the situation was not urgent. Despite the website's claim of a 10-day processing time, I have yet to receive the money, which is marked as "PAID" in my campaign account. After numerous calls and inquiries, I was informed today that payments are delayed due to a high volume of transactions. I am still waiting for a clear answer on the status of my funds.

I started an a campaign for an organization I help out. The campaign is Nelson Mandela Day's Drive , I started the campaign at around 27th April and I haven't received any update or anything regarding the campaign. I would really love to get help and donations to continue with my plan for Mandela day

It is very difficult to use this platform from countries outside South Africa. It seems to fairly consistently be offline. I’m in the US and have donated a few times to one cause. The first few times I tried to donate. Nothing. Then I made 3 donations over a brief period that went through. Today, I have tried 5x to donate and PayPal is again not accepting it. The issue is not PayPal, because it was fine when I used it yesterday and earlier today. The issue is coming from BaB.

BackaBuddy is an amazing initiative where they use crowd funding to assist multiple causes and needs. Our Grandson was biorn with a severe heart defect and had his first heart operation at only 2 weeks old and the second heart operation just now at 5 and a half months old. The campaine already assisted us with almost half the funds we need. Well done BackaBuddy!

I started an independent campaign to raise funds for a new power wheelchair. The old one was no longer working after 20+ years. Family members and friends immediately showed their support, together with people I have never met - THANK YOU SO MUCH. Their system and their customer service are both 5-star. Even once when I lost my cool due to a misunderstanding on my part they kept their cool, and to my embarrassment dealt ever so courteously with my tantrum. We requested an interim emergency payment of part of the money, which they acceded to with alacrity. And when it was time for the monthly payment the payout was correctly calculated to the last cent. If your cause is good, and you're social media savvy, BackaBuddy will take care of the rest with great professionalism.

I lost my downsyndrome son 8 July 2022 due to multiple organ failure. He had a life long battle and for 2 years Zane and his team went out of there way to assist and go beyond. After my son passed away he even wrote a letter and did a final review. Zane is truly dedicated in his work with such a warm and kind loving heart. They don’t even deserve one star. They don’t make payments that are due to our campaign. Been waiting since 9may for a payout. Please avoid this company at all costs. They are theives.

Not very transparent and upfront. I'm struggling to get a payout and reply from them. No response to my emails.I started a campaign to raise some funds towards buying a cheap little house. I didn't reach my target. So now they asking me a proof of an offer to purchase for a house... which is ridiculous because I haven't even made a quarter of the total. So how can I make an offer to purchase. Not a good experience. It should have been in their conditions before accepting such a campaign. Fake, really

On 1 June I advised them that a 4th deduction was made when only 3 donations were requested. I have sent about 9 emails, and the same reply.. someone will contact you. The amount is R1081.00, so it is not petty cash. What are my options? Small claims court? Emails sent to :- queries, vetting, verification and finance @backabuddy.
