auto-owners.com Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives auto-owners.com a medium-high trust score on the platform: 71.3. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Standard. Valid. Common.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 71.3 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to auto-owners.com's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Standard. Valid. Common. tags above. Long story short, this site's trust score still warrants a little caution. Use common sense when using this website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning auto-owners.com, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between auto-owners.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of auto-owners.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of auto-owners.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. auto-owners.com is a likely trustworthy website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether auto-owners.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether auto-owners.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, auto-owners.com.

Pray no driver with this insurance ever hits your car. It's never a good sign when no one has heard of it. The Greenville, SC claims center of this company excels at mediocrity and incompetence. A pulse must be the only requirement to work here or be a manager. You get lots of practice listening to unprofessional voicemails (ie."if you're calling between 12pm and 2pm, I'm at lunch. ") No one, including managers, ever returns calls. They are obviously trained not to answer the phone and only communicate via email. It takes multiple days to complete even the most basic steps of the process, such as getting a rental car. They treat you as if you're at fault instead of their insured. You're probably better off filing with your own insurance and letting them deal with it.
This is an unethical company. If you have accident forgiveness in your policy in south carolina they wil not honor it through loop holes and kick you put your policy after your first accident in 23 years of driving
I have had business liability thru Auto Owners for many years, paying tens of thousand of dollars in premiums. recently I retired and have been trying for over 6 months to get my final audits done. They have stone walled all the way, charging me for exposures which apparently in their bullitins, but not in my policy. JUST BEWARE; typical insurance co.
I have never had an issue with auto owners insurance. I filed several auto damage claims and I’ve had a total roof replaced on my house never had any issues. The rates are half of what the companies that advertise on TV all the time. don’t pay for what you don’t need.
Worst experience I have ever had. I had a total destruction on my greenhouse which was attached to my garage. They had required me to pay premiums on their $120,000 appraisal or lose my replacement value benefit. My actual replacement cost was $65,000. Their initial offer was $11,000 for my replacement cost. After 6 months of fighting with them, they offered me $45,000. I am worn out with all the fighting with my so called insurance company. I thought replacement cost coverage was very clear coverage. Apparently not. I am so worn out with 100’s of pages of their small print and avoidance of a fair offer, I give up. I thought insurance was protection, apparently not. What a horrible deceitful company.
I have never had a worse experience with an insurance company. Took 5 months for a house claim. Did not return many phone calls from me, roofer or my broker. Almost had to sue them. I finally got the state involved for support and finally reached an agreement.
They get two stars on account of actually paying out a claim I had years ago but it was a very small claim and they only gave enough money for materials to do the repairs myself. My biggest grievance is that I always have to go through an insurance agent and there is no way to select what I want on my policy. They also don't offer any discounts for smart devices or security monitoring systems. They just all around are awful and I can't wait to switch to a better company at some point. Paying well over 1k a year for 14 years with one claim that paid out 2k total after the deductible. That's just for the house. The car insurance with the multi policy discount was still also over 1k a year for 14 years and I might have had 2 minor claims. So probably paid them about 30k in 14 years and they still won't lower my insurance rates. I could have done so much with that extra 30k over the years. The least they could have done is lower my freaking rates. Especially since I had all the electrical rewired and updated before I moved in 14 years ago there is little chance of basically anything happening to my house unless a weather anomaly happens.
I just read the other reviews and I totally agree with the other negative complaints! Please avoid this insurance company literally at all costs! They are the worst. My mom has used them to cover her small business. Recently, a fire started at an adjacent business but jumped into my mom's business. So far, it has been 2 weeks since the disaster, and they have been giving my poor mom the complete runaround. She is a widow, and she has been very upset with her treatment. The company keeps telling her they will get back to her, but they never do. They said that on a Monday, and now it is Thursday! Nothing. They are trying to find loopholes and stupid excuses not to help cover some of the damages. They are very dishonest, rude, and have no ethics or loyalty. They also have no respect or care to help. My mom has had them too for years paying thousands of dollars towards premiums with never a claim. This is how bad this place is. As soon as we get this resolved, we are going to move to another company. I am so shocked at their behavior, I am at a loss for words.
This company will wear a customer down and never pay a valid claim as we have experienced with our homeowners policy with them. Absolutely not customer oriented when it comes to honoring their policy commitments.
This company is exactly that unethical , they have a customer that has a surety bond with them this bond covers anything the company may do like fraud , dishonesty , selling salvage vehicles without notifying the buyer , and by this business sackett Motorsport posting this item had never gone through an insurance company then sending me a salvage titled frame , that’s fraud and should have been paid out to me , but these dishonest pieces of dog dung denied my claim . If you are gonna get insurance stay away from these guys no matter how good it looks , no matter how bad you are hurting to stay compliant with the laws do not use this companies services , avoid these guys like the plague , yeah they will pay out some claims because I’m sure the law has a percentage they have to payout but do you really wanna take a chance that these guys auto owners insurance are gonna pay ? ? Your life and the lives of your loved ones are worth more then the savings you will get by purchasing insurance here , when it comes to auto owners insurance ….just say “NO THANK YOU !”
Just wanted to give a much deserved shout out to Anne Smith. She went above and beyond to help me out. We need more people like her. Yall are lucky to have her. Thank you! Lisa Limbaugh
I had Auto Owners Insurance coverage on my business. I was in an accident that was not my fault in January 2015. I put a claim in on my Auto Owner Insurance under the UMI part of the policy because the other person did not have enough coverage to cover my medical bills. After submitting everything to Auto Owners Insurance they said yes there was coverage! after almost two years sending them medical bills and other documents in which Auto Owners Insurance lost or supposedly just didn't get and my lawyer resent time and time again which is part of Auto Owners Insurance ploy to delay your claim. Please keep in mind that Auto Owners Insurance never denied the claim until a month before the time was up to file a lawsuit! There offer was 20,000 dollars take it or leave it! I had well over 100,000 dollars in medical bills, so we filed a lawsuit against Auto Owner Insurance! So now we are three years into this claim and Auto Owners Insurance hires their slim ball attorneys who like to play as many games as Auto Owners Insurance does. So, Auto Owners Attorneys starts splitting hairs on ownership of my truck that was crashed and if it was owned by the business or me! So, after a ton more of paperwork and motion after motion filed with the courts in which these slim ball attorneys of Auto Owners Insurance like to do, Auto Owner Attorneys again waste time and drive-up legal cost instead of trying to come to the table with a reasonable settlement offer! So, another 2 years and 10 months go by we get our day in court! a total of almost 6 years now wasted! So, we get a young wet behind the ears judge and this judge just let these lawyers for Auto Owners Insurance just run over the top of him! This Judge let everything that had nothing to do with the accident in as evidence! Auto Owner Insurance and their slim ball attorneys assonated my charter and slandered me and completely made me out to be some monster, we prevailed on part of the lawsuit but lost part of the lawsuit also! Now Auto Owners Insurance and their slim ball attorneys are suing me in an attempt to collect attorney's fees that they ran up a figure of about 280,000 dollars! So, if this is the kind of Insurance Company you want protecting you and your family, I got news for you they could care less about their policy holders. Auto Owners Insurance will lie, cheat and do everything necessary not to pay a claim! Auto Owners Insurance would rather pay their slim ball attorneys to run you threw the court system and wear you out then pay you one dime!!! Don't even consider Auto Owners Insurance and if you have it now start shopping for new insurance as fast as you can before something happens!!! Don't let Auto Owners Insurance do this to you!!!!

“HORRIBLE - they blame the customer and drag their feet (Home Owners Ins_”
The advice I would give to any homeowner, would be to AVOID Auto Owners insurance. Consumer Affairs has them rated with 1.8 stars. Before considering this company, take the time to go read reviews by actual customers with real experiences dealing with Auto Owners. The negative far outweighs the positive. Pay a few extra bucks, do the research and choose a different insurance carrier. Auto Owners insured my house in 2019. One night after we had left the property, a fire started. I was called and told about it by a neighbor, and was able to get to the property that night while the crews were still there. I called Auto Owners and filed my claim, and from day one, it has been a nightmare. Here we are more than 8 months later, with nothing resolved other than asking for more documents each time. From the very beginning they have tried to tell me that my kids must have snuck off and smoked pot and lit it on fire, or my kid lit incense on the stair case and set it on fire and when I disagreed with all of that, saying my kids would not do that, Doug Hunt with Auto Owners said "I think you lit your house on fire". But mostly, they have simply ignored me. I finally hired an attorney. When he contacted them, they chose that moment to demand every financial record I had ever possessed going back years. So we spent hours finding and copying everything, and sent it to them. Then they accused me of arson. So they are clearly not working for the customer. They push and try to intimidate to get you to back off on your claim. So here I sit, 5 months later. The house had to be secured because it has been broken into and items were stolen. I get reports from neighbors that people are STILL coming to the house and taking things. When I asked Auto Owners about it, they said that would be another claim, with another deductible even though the fire is what opened the house up to the break ins and theft to begin with! If you are with Auto-Owners, I recommend dropping them BEFORE something happens to you, and you need insurance you can count on.

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. If you own auto-owners.com, we would love to hear from you. However, if you would like to challenge this review and trust score, we are more than willing to take a deeper look, but be prepared to offer solid proof of your business. When domain owners contact us to challenge the trust score of their website on our website Validator, we would kindly ask them to share some of the following things: * Details from their ecosystem that would show that they are 100% trustworthy (certificate of incorporation, business registration, official records showing the name of the website or business, etc.). * Their personal profile on LinkedIn and social media accounts for the business on Facebook. * If possible, some screenshots/proof of satisfied clients (not testimonials on their website), proof of inventory, canceling orders when requested, etc.).
