Do not believe the typo and refuse the refund
My computer locked up due to trojans. I called the Microsoft labeled help line and was directed to Arc Tech. They freed my computer and set me up with Aurum Curve. We will see if I was scammed again.
My computer locked up and a loud womans voice warned me not to turn off my computer or i would lose all my information. there was a Microsoft icon attached and a phone number, i called it and they said microsoft sent me to them.I was talked into buying a plan that would protect my familys laptops pads phone from viruses. I don't know if i was scammed or not and since i had to write a checkthat they scanned i don't know if i can cancel since they are closed now..
I was contacted by them and told they would give me a refund. I did receive more than my initial payment and am now dealing with that. I have no issue with returning the overpayment but am very suspicious on the method they want me to use to repay it.
I was looking for "chicken salad with grapes and walnuts" I clicked on a recipe site that did not have "www." in front of the site name--only blank.com I don't remember the name of the website. My computer started screaming that it was frozen due to a hacker and I must call this number: turns out the number was for Aurum Curve. Unfortunately, I let the technician, Bruce Warren, "into" my computer. He then tried to sell me one of their firewall programs. I declined and the he "cleaned" my computer. I said good-by and promptly turned it off. only he knows what he actually did to my computer.
The same happened to my husband. He was looking at fish recipes and suddenly the computer got locked with the loud voice repeating that the computer locked and we were in danger of identity theft. They had us to register and pay $472.67 for the service. they would not accept a credit card, but a check only. Check was scanned and they have the image of the check. the check was made to ARC Tech. we are very upset as we think that they locked our computer and then they had access to our computer to fix it. we are worried now, as it looks like the company is not legit.
