The app itself is pretty good. No bugs and no issues and the UI is pretty good, intuitive and efficient settings etc, good range of titles across a broad spectrum of subjects.However… my card expired. And I can’t update my payment method because I CAN’T SIGN IN TO MY ACCOUNT. And to contact them you have to sign in. Actually to do anything related specifically to account, you have to sign in to the site. And I just can’t. I’ve tried everything. It says I’ve requested too many OTPs in 24hrs despite not requesting any. According to Reddit, it’s a common problem here in NZ.So can’t get more credits, can’t do anything really. They’ll cancel my membership this month and I’ll be moving elsewhere once I’ve finished my library. Terrible.

I used a free trial of audible 9 months ago then cancelled, and only just realised they'd been charging me $16.45 every month since, despite the fact I have never once logged in or used the app. They also deliberately make unsubscribing extremely difficult and confusing (e.g. you can't unsubscribe from a portable device... why?)
very limited libraryvery limited library, charges to your account even WAY AFTER ending your free trial.I opened a UK account and they secretly opened a US account alongside this, so even after I cancelled my UK account, they billed me on a separate account then claimed that this is how their marketplace works, when you open an account in one country, it goes to all countries.They referenced amazon saying it's the same with them.Well that's not true with memberships. I have amazon in the UK and US, but only have prime in the UK where I live.Audible opened a membership in the US without me knowing.Fu*king pigs.
Well, this is a great solution with good service. Not all the features in the US version are available in the Australian version. From time to time, they have great specials to get news users or returning users signed up. BUT there is one MAJOR fundamental problem with this service! I can lend my physical books to friends and family, I CAN NOT lend the audiobooks I pay for through this service! This is a money trap! I am better off buying printed books that Audiobooks! I can send one free book to a new user, but that is not the same. The books I pay for can only be used by myself. Monday Trap!

“Charged before you know it”
Audible.com.au suffers the same issues as Audible.com. Purchases end up as subscriptions without you realising, free trials silently slip into memberships... none illegal, and fairly normal with other services, but somehow theirs is particularly slimy and feel sneaky and untrustworthy. Improved messaging and transparency on moving between these stages would help a lot but for now I definitely cannot recommend their services.
“Fraudulent use of credit card via Amazon”
Despite opting out of their free trial within a week in Feb 2018 they have continued to debit me ever since (USD14.95 plus fees). Am unable to delete my card details so they will continue to take my money illegally. Tried to resolve but: "Thank you for contacting Audible! We've attempted to locate your account in our database and found that you have created your account with Audible US. Audible US is part of the Audible family, but it operates independently. Since Audible US is an entirely different store, we are unable to access your account."
“Zero not even one. Audible should be banned.”
The books are fine - nothing to do with Audible. The narrators are varied in quality but fairly good. The main issue is that one can't download the books onto a laptop running Windows. I can download onto my phone but I need to use my phone as a phone. I've spent hours trying to contact audible.com.au customer service people. They give contradictory and useless advice. I even had one staff member access my laptop remotely to download a book. She couldn't so promised to call back. She didn't. Then the next customer-couldn't-care-less person apologises but he apologises that the Audible staff couldn't reach me when they tried. They didn't try. Anyone who telephones me can go to voicemail if I'm not there and their number is recorded. I WANT A REFUND.

Awesome fast excellent customer service response. If every other service provider in the world had such a fast, friendly but professional and satisfying experience that audible provides, the world would be a happy place, and the courts and police wouldn't be involved in little issues. The audible customer service model should be rolled out to banks, insurance companies and councils, globally. Common sense, understanding and kindness works amazingly well. A shame audibles' parent company Amazon doesn't enshrine those priorities. Every interaction I've ever had with audible in the 12 years I've been a member first with audible USA, then when they opened AU office, as I'm Australian, bummed out, that with copyright issues, I couldn't buy some USA titles, but audible staff have been consistently friendly, great at explaining those issues in a non put down or politicised way. Audible staff are the benchmark of perfection with professional, immediate contact and results. Awesome 5***** AAAAA+++++ I now have 416 audios with my monthly $14.95, plus I get bonus 5 free podcasts montly, plus a free audio editors pick every month. Right now I'm listening to their free podcast of the Edinburgh comedy festival 2019 live, fantastic! And I didnt pay anything for all the extra's. Again, if you don't like something you did pay for, you get your credit back to get another audio book. I've audible.com.au app on my galaxy 9 smartphone, I blue tooth it with ear hook, hidden under my hair, so I listen all day at work, with one ear listening, and my other ear listening to repetitive boring stuff. I tap my ear hook to turn it all off, when I really need to pay attention. I've not listened to radio with all their ads for years, I use audible, I go through 2 books a weeks, great narrators, cos in real life, I don't have the eye time to read actual books these days.
