angel.co Review
The Scam Detector website Validator gives angel.co one of the higher trust scores on the platform: 88.7. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same results. So, why this score? We came up with the 88.7 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to angel.co's industry. The algorithm detected little high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Authentic. Trustworthy. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we deem this a secure website. But let's explain in more detail.
Explaining Our Analytical Approach
We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:
- Proximity to Suspicious Websites
- Threat Profile
- Phishing Profile
- Malware Score
- Spam Score
- Domain Blacklist Status
- HTTPS connection
- Domain Creation Date
While some are self-explanatory concerning angel.co, let's look closer at the remaining ones.
Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites
This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between angel.co and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.
Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam
These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of angel.co. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of angel.co, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. angel.co is an authentic, safe website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.
Domain Blacklisting Status
This term indicates whether angel.co has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.
Assessing HTTPS Connectivity
This section provides insight into whether angel.co boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.
Safe Check
We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, angel.co.

TNT Tree Services --- They are very very good at what they do I had several shrubs and trees that needed done and they were great. The end results were amazing and they arrived on time and I would definitely recommend them.
Tried angies list and i couldnt get any answers about anything! Nothing cost wise, no information besides they "advertise". Like ok how? What do u do to advertise? Angieslist: well we advertise yeah. Loke bro give me more info then that. Stop going in circles. F*** that place. Dont waste ur time.
Daneil for design and landscaping He is scamer and deceitful and I do t recommend him at , no star .
Angel list sucks they'll take more money from you then actual jobs you'll get and when you get pissed at them about the bull$T billing cycle they will hang up on you
AngelList or Home Adviser.com same company they operate in same business name . they real scam they way they operate is just poll many from hardworking contract actor and handyman’s if they send you 10 leads and you got one libel and accurate contact you very lucky .. they bay leads from third party and send it to contractors as new leads and they charge over $ 100.00 for leads mean time 5 to 6 contractor receive same lead . do not west your money with Angelist.com or Home Adviser.com
I’ve invested in dozens of startups through AngelList over the years, but I am done. The user experience has been declining over the years since it became syndicate focused. The customer support is abysmal, they just take their cut of the deal and offer little support for the investors or improvement or features. There are alternatives that are better and cheaper now. Sad to see. Still , I want them to succeed as I’m an investor in the AngelList SPV.
They are processing my withdrawal for two weeks and provide no ETAs. I have submitted my government ID, proof of address, etc., but got no results. It looks strange that a US-based investment platform struggles with USD withdrawals for US residents with US bank accounts.Looks like I have to file a compliant to the SEC
Great site. Changing the game in the recruiting space and best of all, it's free to use. Anyone using sites like Glassdoor, Indeed, or LinkedIn to recruit instead of AngelList are missing the boat.High quality jobs, great tools to connect, and the best place to find talent for startups - hands down.
AngelList does not have verified companies listed in its website There are a lot of scam companies fishing for details of poor job seekers who are desperate for a job. I was caught with one such company HIBR and When I reported to Angel.com they replied with a most lousy response " if you feel its a scam company , do not proceed with your application" I mean really? How can they list scam companies in their website without any verification.
I invested in the company Notion through Angel.co during the first seed round of investments. The company then did a second seed round and a third round of USD 10 million. I didn't get any information from the company for 5 years. Then, suddenly, five years after the investment, I receive a 5-line email saying the company was sold in a secret transaction and no money is to be recovered by investors. No explanation, no thank you. I feel like I deserve a little more respect than that. What a stupid scam.
Wanted to hire people for my company on angellist: created a company account, wrote a job posting, the next day it was removed without any explanations. I asked why, and received a one sentence email telling me they don't allow other companies in the recruiting space to use their service. We're a hr tech company, not even a competitor of them. But apparently we can't use their service. I don't know how it is in the US, but in France this is down right illegal. Considering reporting this in France.
They reached out to me to try and recruit me for a job. I said I was not interested. They keep messaging me, despite me asking to not be contacted again. I just want them to leave me alone.
I love the idea: Craigslist for startups. It's a good idea. The problem is that AngelList doesn't seem to check the activity or age of the posts. I've had multiple applications expire without a word from the company. I think if they had a little more of a firm standard in place where some people would nudge the inactive accounts, it could work better.
These guys are so so so non educated or what can I say...Just a few months ago these guys blocked my account without any reason, no explanation...But now, when they are switching to a new domain with new business they emailed me like this."No one knows change better than the startup community. That’s why today, there’s no one we’re more excited to share this news with than you. After a decade building under the AngelList umbrella, AngelList Talent is officially branching out on its own, under a new name.Welcome to Wellfound. As Wellfound, we'll be doubling down on what we what we love to do most: helping the startup world find what’s next. Our friends over at AngelList Venture will continue on as AngelList. You’ll start to see some updates over the coming weeks. But — it’s so much more than a name change. While you can still access angel.co until March 2023, check out wellfound.com to learn more about what’s ahead for us."How on earth they could email me like this...They banned me and now asking me to share their junk new business to my top fellows.Where is the logic?Shame Shame Shame. This is not a business with a normal ethicI would rather call it begging business.
AngelList Fund (Angel list investor) review here. As a business seeking funding, using their site to seek funding, is a bad experience, just going throught the posting creation setting tells me this is just a directory style process, with anonymous, unqualified, suspicious team of evaluators from Angellist, that is unprofessional because they are unable to disclose and explain miuch of the needed process. If they are the host and the vehicle to run the fund seeking process, the team at AngelList should describe transparently the process and hidden cost of such sort. The email correspondence with a team from Angellist that contacted me to solicit for additional information, is telling of their shady oeprations. They operate in a one-direction information communication. Only the registrants are compliant to provide information to them, whereas they do not hold themselves accountable for any information to registrants and business owners. Be WARNED of them.On top of that, when the account is created, it can be seen that the account cannot be Deleted and terminated. This is a BASIC Rights of account owner in any websites. Even Facebook has that setting to delete and Wipeout data. AngelList does not have this function. SERIOUS BREACH in website ethical compliance and user rights.

“For a site for techies, it's an absolute nightmare!”
I can't even begin to describe how terribly put together this website is. It's like some college student slapped a proof-of-concept together, got a bunch of funding from his uncle and just blew it all on his vices, with no intention of actually improving the site. Like... you can't add more than one entry to the "experience" section of your profile. If you read the body of the 404 error (which isn't even the right error for a POST header with malformed data!) sent back from AngelList's API, it says "That entity has already been tagged." That's how little thought was put into this site! According to AngelList, you can't work at a place twice! I can't believe this infernal site has been up for this long and no one at this "company" has never had a thought to fix their blasted website!
“Waste of time.”
I've been on here for a year and a half and 99 percent of the jobs are outdated, unpaid internships, and scams. Look elsewhere if you are looking for a job. I have extensive programming experience, so you'd think I've would have found something... anything on here by now. Once in a blue moon, you may find an underpaid customer service job or business partnership offer. AKA you dump your money into someone else's business idea and run the start up yourself (good if you're already a rich business owner). Like I said, don't waste your time.
“Disappointed bad service”
I applied for a job through their site. I was offered the job, after two interviews and lots of paperwork. On my first day of training the company rep kept asking for my bank account number to pay me and I realized it was a scam! A very well constructed one. Angel list did not respond to my numerous requests that they take the ad down and alert others who may have applied. I don't trust them.
“Just an absolutely terrible way to apply for jobs”
They need to fire whoever designed their website. - They make it incredibly hard to change anything about your profile. - They completely butcher your ability to list your experiences. - The save a continue function is idiotic. - Honestly, it's in the top five worse sites I've ever been to.
“Locked account”
I opened account and added my info after a few months my account got locked. Their message was like " You were blocked from the use of our site due to a violation of our rules." I am really not sure what was their rules. Probably I refused or I wasn't interested on working for a company. Anyway AngelList has no business mindset at all.
“Scam on Angel.co”
I applied for a job on Angel list, and it is a scam. He took my money away and ask me to buy a prepaid card. Angel.co is not a secure job-hurting website! Everyone can post a job on it without any review? Will not use Angel.co anymore.
“Terrible site, horrible customer experience, very VERY little value-add”
Wow, what a difficult site to use. They make you crawl through hoops just to see their little tiny set of jobs, many of which seem scammy anyway. I wrote to them with 2 questions and never heard back. 5 follow up emails over the course of a month... never heard a word. I highly recommend NOT using this site.
“Wave pool and grill”
I want to tell you about the best pool store i have ever had the pleasure to deal with the people were friendly and funny i had a green! Pool so i took some water in for testing when they got done and told me what to put in and how to put the chemical in i felt very confident that i could do this myself they also told me about phosphate so i went home and did exactly what they wrote down for me to do and in three days my pool was crystal clear it never looked so good highly recommend that if you take care of your own pool you have to go see wave pool and grill they really know there $#*!!
“TLC plumbing at Albuquerque”
I called and made an appointment with TLC plumbing at Albuquerque. They give me the hours between 10 am to 1 pm. I waited until 1:30 pm no one showed up and I did not get any call from them either. 1:30 I called the office and told them I have been since 10 am. They told me the plumber should be there in 30 minutes. He showed at 3 pm, 2 hours late! I spend most of my day waiting on them, and when they show up I told them that I have been waiting for them for 5 hours, and I had to called the office. Their response was, well we can give 5% discount... their hourly rate is $99,5% of that is almost $5. My 5 hours waiting on them, worth $5. This is the worst experience I have with any company and I could not be more insulted. I have called and Filed complain with better Business Bureau.
“Waste of time”
Please don't waste your time with angellist, If you apply for many jobs then your profile will suspended without any valid reason/justification. Jobs listed in angellist is only for the persons who are working in angellist(I mean only angellist employees can apply the jobs).
“Great place to hire”
If you're looking for young, hungry smart employees, Angel List is the place to go. The best of all is that it's all essentially free. Much better than most job boards and Craiglist. The only downside is that it only really works for recruiting if you do all the outreach (similar to LinkedIn unless you pay). Value Quality
“Not ready for prime time”
This website is very bad. I dont want to build a profile, I want to apply for a position. Not a random position, but a very specific one. I do not want to fill out a bunch of irrelevant info or answer a bunch of irrelevant questions. I simply want to submit a resume. Avoid at all costs. Tip for consumers:Avoid Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Bad service, almost scammy companies”
Can't go a day without being spammed by Captchas and even complete blocked access to some sites. The help service email at *******@angel.co is headed by a snobby guy who refuses to fix this. Moreover, a lot of the companies here are scams and fakes trying to use labor at no to little costs at all. Because of the lack of filters on this site, it makes it worse. Don't use this site Service Value Quality
“Scam”
Tried it out for a week, ended up basically giving free labor with the "promise of compensation" at the end, however; ended up being scammed by company (TalkTravel- founder Saurabh Jindal). Save yourself the time and effort, you can find a better, more trustworthy position elsewhere.
“80% companies listed here are scammers”
DO NOT opt for this website to search for jobs. A lot of the companies here are scams and fakes trying to use labor and desperate job seekers to cheat them money. It makes it worse as they target vulnerable desperate people who are looking for a job. Don't use this site. I was listed in this company and got a couple of offers. They call and offer you jobs 80K/Annum$ and then ask you to pay100$ to ship equipments to do your work(Laptop, printer) One such company is HIBR, when I raised the issue with Angel.co they had a lousy response " if you feel its a scam company, do not proceed with your application" I mean really? How can they list scam companies in their website without any verification.
“Find the right person for your problems”
Ken Weaver & Sons solved my emergent heating problem in a harsh weather weekend day. His professionalism and commitment to his customer cares make himself highly trusted.
“Account Locked”
"Your account is Locked." What a surprise! The only reason I can think of is the VPN which I've been using without any trouble in the last 3 years. Their security policy may be too hard for me.
“Account locked”
These guys are paranoid and lock accounts at will. If you want to stress out a bit, go ahead and open account. After you spend lots of time perfecting it, be prepared for a lock. Waste of time!
“GUN SUN ROOFING”
EXCELLENT. Great experience from start to finish. On time and finished on time. Experience professional knowledge. Also finance available. Did the job and more Service Value Shipping Returns Quality
“Horrible old site with vague replies”
I decided to use angellist in 2019 after reading an article that listed them as a place for job seekers. I went to the site, set up my profile, followed all site tutorials, and applied to three jobs (legit places I checked). I wanted to fix my profile and my picture (their format wasnt accepting quality although they say to use high resolution). I suddenly got a cloud fare message when trying to log in. I reached out to them via email and twitter no response. I checked the site later and still couldn't get in. I tried to contact them again via email and Twitter. I later tried again and now it said my account was locked out! Now I'm pissed. I emailed angellist told them of all the past times I tried to contact them, my account being locked out, and no response. Once I mentioned I was going to escalate this if I don't hear back with solutions, "moderation" responded. This email said my account is suspended, I couldn't get it back, I violated their rules, and do I want to deactivate my account. I don't know who runs angellist and how they've gotten away with poor service but they need to be forced to do better or fold. I still haven't received an explanation or any response. Everything screams SCAM. My fear is they are selling and using my information at leisure. I heard before they contact past employers without consumer knowledge. This platform is horrible! Stay Away!
“Angel list, a platform for False job advertisement?”
I discovered AngelList recently. I tried the service to look for jobs in start-ups as Angel List is dedicated to the world of start-ups, promoting them, posting jobs for them, trying to find investors. I was first surprised by the amount of good job offers and the amount of start-ups "hiring". I quickly came back to earth. False advertisement and fake job posting are not only the specialities of big job boards or large corporations, nor is fraudulent advertising. I don't know if the start ups posting their ads on Angel List are the one at fault or if they work together with Angel List to create some website traffic, attract attention, gain users and clients, but most of the job posted are fake or outdated. I have also identified some fake companies and fake profiles there, taking advantage of this website to do some "con artist" jobs. Angel List is competing with other so called "social' network like Linkedin and need to gain audience and users, so it wouldn't be surprising that they are working together with some start ups to create the impression of job abundance and success by posting many fake jobs. It allows start ups to look profitable and attract would be investors and it serves Angel List to attract users and future customers. Thats how it looks like after having experienced it for a while.
“AngelList is a scam”
I would NOT recommend putting any investments here. It is impossible to get any information on the investments you put your money into. You might as well throw your hard earned money into the trash.
“Easy to search”
Easy to search for startup jobs. Got my first job through this website. Thank you, guys, for your help)
“Want to give a big thank you to Daniel's landscape and hardscape My yards beautiful”
Thank you Daniel's landscape and hardscspe. My yards beautiful now. Will always get them for my yard improvements.
“Lawncare”
I used H D Lawn care had a very good experience very professional excellent job replaced mulch in the flower bed cut hedges trimmed grass and edges Service Value

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website [VIDEO]
There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a fraudulent website in 2024:
How To Remove Your Information From the Internet
Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.
We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.
Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
