Is americanmusical.com Legit?

Yeah they suck Stay away from them They acted like I was approved for 0% 18 month financing and that my brand new Les Paul Standard would be shipped at 8:30 am and by 4:20 pm I got an email saying I was declined and I've got good credit so much so that GM financial allowed me to buy a new 2024 Colorado but these people bait and switched me acted like I was approved then dropped me and said I wasn't. Will never ever purchase from them now.I will go to Sweetwater or Zzounds for my new Gibson!

Never do business again. Ordered a bass on 9/23 checked in my account and said it was "in process" for 14 days. Called them today and they said the order was cancelled for no availability. No message, no email all this time.

Garbage. Advertise to support 6 month payment but then they require to build trust, they dont even bother to tell me my order is cancelled. Wth? That's the whole f point of having bad credit. Go with zzsounds instead.

They are showing me as being past due for items I have paid off. I've done a lot of business with AMS over the last few years and have been maintaining a consistently strong credit system for this entire time. I have paid off many items, most of them early, since paying early has no penalties and opens me up for new purchases faster. The problem currently, and this has happened before, is that they "updated their system" and my total debt to them has increased by roughly $300. I looked into the cause, and items that I had paid off months ago are back up on my current order and it shows I am behind between 1-4 months on them. What?! I reached out to customer service and they said "give it 24 to 48 hours".. even though I already waited 12 hours after noticing before I even reached out. Now we're past 72 hours and there is still no change. I still am said to owe more than what I do, and there are all kinds of bright red "past due" notices on my gear for months I paid off. If this was just one time or was fixed in a timely manner, I would not be here advising others about this being a trend. Not sure if I will continue using AMS after this, and I advise caution to anyone who does.

I've been using AMS for 10+ years. Their installment plans put them above any of their competitors and that's why I keep coming back. There's some short-comings in terms of selection, but overall they typically carry what I need and when they do, they get my business. Love what you guys' do and thankful you're still around.

if I can give zero stars I would. I ordered a jackson Guitar for about 1200 bucks wanted to use 12 payment option. paid down payment . looked later to see if it shipped . my order said cancelled i didn t know what happen I called 800 number I was told I had no previous payment history with them . Made no sense so was immediately transferred to voicemail of a supposed mgr Never got a response no call text or email nothing . No apology for whatever just like it never even existed. Ignore this sorry ass store or whatever it is and a big middle finger to this fkd up company!!!!!

I am a broke as a joke musician, I needed Hardware and Software while my credit was thrashed because i am a musician, there is no money in that turnip skegs.... So when i needed a new Schecter Electric Guitar For $600 I was able to get it and pay it off within 1 year, there was no credit check. There was only free shipping, great customer service HIGH HIGH QUALITY PRODUCT and wonderful overall taste in my mouth... I ordered a bass, amp, case etc from AMS. They have an excellent payment plan with no credit check. A huge selection and decent prices. The items were shipped quicly and I received them in good order. I was missing a couple items. I called and the nice lady (cant remember her name unfortunately) was polite and helpful and had replacements sent out within hours with no hassles. Anyone can afford to buy a 1st guitar ....there are many to choose from .... But a Gibson Les Paul or an American made strat may be a bridge too far for most people ....Thank You AMS for your 12 or 18 months interest free payments. It is a great thing....

My experiences with AMS have all been positive. On larger items they've always given far better discounts than Sweetwater by a lot. I've had several transactions that have been great. That being said I've never had to return anything but, I've never head to return anything. That works two ways. So far so good.

I bought a Fender II player Precision bass guitar. It was shipped quickly. The bass sounds amazing. This bass is very lightweight. AMS has great products and low payments.

Looked everywhere for two Bose F1 Model 812 carry bags, but even Bose didn’t have any in stock. Called AMS to verify they not only sold the bags but actually had them in stock. The sales staff assured me they did and the bags were shipped to us in FL that day. They arrived quickly so we had them to protect our investment before our first concert. Excellent experience. Will definitely use AMS again.

I did the payment plan with my credit card and It was handles very professionally. American Musical Supply did exactly as promised and kept in contact. Reminded me of an up coming payment. Also let me know when it was completed as sometimes you get used to the monthly payment and really don't keep tabs on what payment it is. I do appreciate that. 5 stars all the way round.

It's true that some of their sales reps are friendlier than others, but I've actually never been treated badly. I see complaints online about transaction problems, but if you UNDERSTAND the arrangements and make sure funds are available at the right times, there should be no problems. “Not great, not totally bad but doesnt care either”

I have been a customer of AMS for many years. For the most part I have had good luck with them but the problem is in their website. I cannot go online and make a payment in advance due to their payment section of their web site. I have emailed them and they really do not care if anyone likes it or not. Once I get my bill paid down I dont think I will go back. I can go to zZounds and make a payment with ease, no worries. No such luck at AMS. Tip for consumers:At one time a person could make a payment on their site and it would work fine. Now it is a cluster but the sad part is they dont care if bothers you or not. AMS wants you to call in to make a payment or to check on a payment, I dont have time for this petty bs. Tried to purchase a $6,700 high end guitar they never charged the card. 3 total orders none of which got the guitar - must have called them 40 times over the last 2 weeks and they kept telling me they would call within 30-60 mins, all lies. I don't think they even actually had the guitar. Limited to 125 ever made so otherwise I would NEVER deal with these guys again. My experience with customer service/credit dept. was completely and utterly unacceptable. The rep was extremely rude, condescending and a poor representation of a company that I helped I high regard. When trying dispute and gain clarity as to why my card was charged $900+. The rep was unwilling to let me speak nor actually make this experience worthwhile for the both of us. When I first started getting into music as an adult teen I didn't have much cash to throw around. I put my first used electric guitar on layaway and waited 6 months to finally play it. Once I outgrew the pocket amp I was able to afford I needed a decent amp and some effects. This is when I discovered AMS, they were one of the first vendors offering payment plans and even though my credit was next to non existent they were willing to ship me gear before I could pay for it in full. “They sent me 3 bad bass guitars”

I have received 3 bad basses from AMS the 4th was finally good. All basses over 1400$ 1 didn't even come in original manufacture box and I sent it back same day as it control knob was jacked. They charged me 25$ restocking fee because it didn't come back in manufacture box. SMH. They have charged me for labels to return them too when they came in messed up. When complaining about this, they were not helpful and am making me call my attorney and bank to dispute the charge. I exchanged it because it had problems. I signed up for the no credit check 6 month plan I made my payment and the next day my order was canceled. I asked him why my order was canceled they said I did not qualify. But they cannot give me a reason for why I did not qualify and they wanted me to make the payments in two installments.
