airbnb.ca Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives airbnb.ca the absolute highest trust score on the platform: 100. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Safe. Secure. . We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this very high score? We came up with the 100 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to airbnb.ca's industry. The algorithm detected no high-risk activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors, as noted in the Safe. Secure. tags above. Long story short, we label this website as secure and trustworthy. We explain this in more detail below.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning airbnb.ca, let's dive deeper into the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between airbnb.ca and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of airbnb.ca. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of airbnb.ca, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. airbnb.ca is a secure website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether airbnb.ca has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether airbnb.ca boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, airbnb.ca.

Quite disappointed with the review system they have in place Why place a deadline to share a review? I was unfortunately unable to access a device within their timeframe, and just a few days past was too late to leave a review sharing my experience with a property we rented Customer support was quick to respond to tell me there’s nothing that can be done because they sent me a final notice reminder. Perhaps some life circumstances don’t always allow someone to work within such a short window. Just can’t wrap my head around why you shouldn’t be able to leave a review at your ability. Very unfair to hosts and future guests
We are very disappointed with Airbnb. Never again will we use Airbnb, we will only use hotels. We just rented an Airbnb and found that it had no shower bars to hold onto, and no mats for the shower/tub floors for stability. You have to haul your own trash and recycling into the outdoor bins, put dishes in the dishwasher, and put towels into the washer…all for the same price as a hotel who will do all this for you. As a neighbor to an Airbnb host this summer, we are shocked that Airbnb does not disallow someone who has a small 2 bedroom house with 1 1/2 baths, to say that it holds 8 people. This same home will typically have many more than 8 people at their house and it is always a party of a sort. Airbnb does not make the reviewer agree that they were not coerced, etc. to write a good review, either because they received a lower price or are a friend of the owner. You cannot know that the host has rented to friends, to get a great review. Viator, on the other hand makes you certify that you were not coerced, etc. to write a good review. As a consumer, we are not able to see the location of the property until the day before your booking date, this is not the same on the competitor’s site. There needs to be regulations put in place for owners so renters know exactly what they are signing up for. Municipalities and states need to control where airbnb’s are permitted to be established, residential or commercial.
Does Airbnb find it acceptable when property hosts try to "trade" for 5-star reviews with their guests instead of earning 5-star reviews? And does Airbnb find it acceptable when property hosts try using duress / bribery / extortion with their guests to try to get 5-star reviews? Airbnb host "Sophie" in Elora with the "Victorian Apartment-Downtown Elora" listing did this to us. It is evidenced by the message exchanges we had with her. Sophie's messages to us after we left asking us to give her a 5-star review in exchange for her review, and to get the refund she promised us before the review window expiry, came across like extortion / duress / bribery. Sorry, we did not have a 5-star experience at the Victorian Apartment. There was no hot water for us to bath with the first night, we had to clean the apartment with wet paper-towels ourselves because the floors were nasty, the bath tub had chipping paint and sharp paint edges, the kitchen stank of moldy wet dank basement stink, and no operable windows in the kitchen to air it out, and the stair well ceiling is low such that my partner kept hitting her head. And yet Sophie charged us a cleaning fee even though I cleaned the floors.
DO NOT book Airbnb!!!! I made the mistake of booking for one month at a location that turned out to be absolutely disgusting. It was freezing cold, there was no natural light and the people in the upstairs unit partied and crashed around until 3 am! When I complained and asked the landlord to speak to them I was told “we can’t tell people what time to go to bed”!All of this was documented in chats on the Airbnb app and I was promised a refund. Three days later after I had paid to go to a hotel they reneged on their promise and ripped me off for over one thousand dollars!Needless to say I will NEVER use Airbnb again!Do yourself a favour folks….book a hotel!
Air BNB now has way too many cancellations. I used to love this platform but I will avoid using it in the future. There are way too many cancellations happening. Air BNB needs to better hold hosts accountable and protect guests as cancellations can throw travel plans completely off the rails. I have lost faith in using this platform and would now rather pay more for the security and assurance of booking with more traditional means.
Pathetic service support system sucks if a property is on for 5yrs an you see only 2 reviews you need to think.Jay on thorold property is one of them Dont ever rent Jay's property at 130 juneberry in thorold.
I would give it zero. The locations violated New Zealand safety standards. I informed airbnb they did nothing. Then property was missing listed amenities. airbnb did nothing. Then the host, through airbnb portal threatend us over a period of 2 hours. I called airbnb they said to leave they would find me other accomodations -- they did nothing. Have a full stream of communication to valid --- airbnb does not protect the customer!!!!! use at your risk
I absolutely loved Airbnb but had a unfortunate experience with them during my last stay due to a lack of support and communication. My friend and I were traveling in Portugal and were staying in an Airbnb in Lisbon. We had 3 more nights there but our Airbnb was broken into and many very valuable and highly sentimental things were stolen. The police came and informed us to be careful as this Airbnb was broken into a month prior to our visit. We felt so scared, devasted and distraught by the whole experience. We contacted Airbnb with a police report, & messages showing we left the Airbnb 3 nights early and at first received timely responses. Then we continued to be forwarded to speak to a different person that would help deal with our case. Finally we were told our case was forwarded to a senior Claims Support Ambassador but after multiple emails asking for a response they stopped replying to me completely. We had to book into a hotel because of how unsafe we felt and lost our money from our Airbnb stay and had to pay a lot for a new accommodation which was very stressful. We lost so much financially and emotionally. I would love for them to be responsive to their valued costumers and support them during such difficult and stressful times.
Let’s just say that the host can tell all the lies they want, extort you for money, and airbnb will make you pay! I told the truth about a terrible experience at an airbnb, and the host decided to punish me by falsely accusing me of breaking a shoe rack. My mistake? I did not take photos of the place when I first came in. I did not ask the host about the broken shoe rack to have him admit he knows the shoe rack is broken. This was used against me! No matter what I said, just because he submitted a photo of that broken shoe rack, I was held accountable!
Airbnb should close, seriously. High price, unreasonable fees, no monitoring system. Very low quality and comfort. Dirtiness, mold, etc. Some people are creating these "paper," "fake" places to earn money. There is no control over what these hosts are doing. I am done. I'm going back to hotels.
Not surprised to see Airbnb rank so poorly on customer service both on the host and guest side. It's time people move on to other platforms. Had a guest leave us a poor review despite no issues and even contradicting themselves. Brought to Airbnb's attention, told it didn't violate their policies and Airbnb doesn't validate the truth. Funny their policy says you agree to provide an honest and truthful review of your experience.
Worst experience ever!! Booked an Airbnb for $5300. When I arrived there I had to wait 35 mins to get inside the building. Then after arriving to the apartment it was filthy hair on bed on towels, dust everywhere. I grabbed the fob and keys to go to nearest store to buy new towels, bedsheets, cleaning supplies and to my surprise I no Jornt enter the building because nor the Fob or the transponder were working because it’s a none airbnb friendly building and management had deactivated all the keys which made it impossible for me to get inside and I was stranded. Called airbnb support zero help it’s been a month and no resolution has come out these guys still owe me money. NEVER BOOK AIRBNB AGAIN!!!
Airbnb allows owners to delete reviews by customers. All they have to do is re-post their property as if it were a new one, and then withdraw the old property. That way, they can keep the 5- or 4-star reviews, even one or two 3-star reviews to look "honest," and create false representations. It then becomes impossible to tell apart good owners from bad ones.
Stay away from this place. Totally dishonest. Promises refund if rented and does not honor it. Stay away during Covid Lockdown. The website is great to find host all around the world. We have use it I think almost 20 times, the booking is easy, sometimes there is discount for a week stay, some useful filters (breakfast, kitchen, wifi...). Once our host ( not Airbnb) cancelled our stay in New York one week before we arrive, we were disapointed, but Airbnb was quick to give our money back, they even give us a 26€ voucher. You just have to be sure about the host, read the reviews, check if you are allowed to cancel and everything will be fine!
I would give it zero stars. I rented a cottage for one week from Airbnb last summer. We found the cottage was filled with garbage, the kitchen floor was flooded from a pipe leak under the sink and I cut myself from one of the dozens of exposed nails on the dock. Also the cottage owner told us we could rent a boat and use it at her dock. Turns out the water there is only 3ft high and surrounded by rocks. This forced us to have to rent marina space for the boat we rented. With all that went wrong all we asked was to be compensated for the boat marina expense of $150. Despite having photos and emails to confirm everything stated above it still took 8 months to get a reply and they responded our claim is not covered under their policies. Stay clear of Airbnb and rent from someone else who has standards.
Had delt with air bnb multiple times customer service reps are great. however case mgrs are not to easy to talk to they have and intend to keep the agenda of keeping revnue for airbnb. I had spoke with one case mgr Alexandra G. he kept interuptioing me and wanted to end the phone call_ he was not intrested in resolving and issues or acting as a mediator for anyone. dispointed that he could have a postion as a case manger. I will no longer do business with Air bnb. Home Away has much better policy protecting both customer and owner. respectfully Brian
Absolutely a farce of a business as someone that has provided multiple properties for short term rental use. They have no accountability and there is no oversight when issues arise with their platform. They created a security issue at my home by providing check in instructions to a cancelled guest while simultaneously linking 2 non related reservations. Trying to have them be accountable by allowing this error 100% on their side has been the most eye opening and frustrating experience I’ve yet to encounter on my 46 years on this earth. Brutal. Don’t use. I’ve begun to move my business
Airbnb did nothing to help our situation, they only side with the hosts, we paid over $2300 for 11 nights, stayed for 2 as the place was not suitable, it was not 3 bedrooms as described, the balcony room was cold and constant noise from the street, the door didnt lock, the other one described as a den was a converted closet, too small for an adult. The host stated the homeless people were harmless, we were approached a couple of times where we felt unsafe so we left!I would not recommend Airbnb or this Host.
Thought we were getting an ‘entire house/apt’ as the ad mentioned but got a musty, damp basement. Pool and deck was beautiful but everything else was not as advertised. Could smell cannabis everyday we were there. Host Tina appeared nice but turned out to be sneaky and for sure knows what she is doing. Renting under false pretences for a money grab. This is what Airbnb protects.

“Is it worth it?”

2020 Jan. I'm using Airbnb for years, but I realised that they getting so full with crap, their business model start showing signs of racketeering. It's NOT what it used to be! They keep jacking up prices by the day, so if you thought of a reservation and saved it to get some answers from the host... all the sudden next day the price is higher. Then the price shown in CAD (as my selection) all the sudden changing in USD when I click the reserve button, meaning that they ripping me off with the exchange rate and making me to pay 2.5 % more on my credit card. Service fee is getting crazy, same as certain city's all kinds of mambo jumbo taxes...

“Beware Airbnb will not reimburse hosts for the full costs of damages done by guests!”

Update- After waiting for two months, I finally received reimbursement from Airbnb for damages done to my septic pump when renters put down wipes down the toilet. However, I only received 50% of my costs due to what they deemed were actual market value. Be warned fellow hosts. If renters damage your property in any significant way you will not receive the full value of your repair costs. Service

“Worst treatment for guest at Airbnb”

6 June 2022 Egypt Airbnb treatment This business establishment does not even deserve one star. My brother and I reserved this Airbnb in Egypt for 2 weeks. Upon checking in I took photos of the room, there was dust and trash in the closet, toilet was dirty and worst of all the pillows were so dirty and stained. After two weeks stay, I informed owner that I would be checking out early in the morning to catch a flight which was around 3am, and that the other people they will be leaving around 10 am because check out was at 1100 am which he agreed. Then around 3am on the day I was to leave he came by and said that everyone had to leave when I leave This included my brother 2 children and a woman with health problems. They had to wait in the street at 3:30 a.m. for a taxi to pick them up. I told Airbnb all that they didn't want hear it. That was the worst treatment for guest at an Airbnb

“Ripped off”

I reserved a house for a month for 950.00 I spoke with the owner (Host) and found out that the room he had listed was no longer available because he was moving back in his house. He offered me the apartment he was moving out of and I declined and canceled my reservation. 2 weeks later the charged my credit card for $950.00 They paid the owner who took the money knowing I never spent one night in his place. The owner said tough $#*! - air B n B paid me - go after them. Air B n B says go after the owner. I had to pay $950.00 and never spent one night in the place I have been scammed

“Cancelled Account with no notice a week before birthday celebration”

I have been a customer with airbnb for 5 years and have travelled and stayed at least 8 to 9 different times using their app. Last week I attempted to log into my account to book my birthday trip at which time I was told my account has been deactivated, when asked why, they said that I needed to wait for 48 hours for a customer service rep to get back to me. It has been 4 days and my account is still locked. THE WORST COMPANY the first couple times they screwed my over I let it go but this is just to much.

“Awful experience!”

Now, planning a trip to the sea in advance, I suddenly remembered that I had not written a review about the site that shook my nerves last year and this site is Airbnb. I came across this site last year before my trip. Navigation on the site is very simple and you can easily find a suitable option for price and location by setting parameters. My husband and I decided to book apartments in Istanbul for 3 days before the seaside trip and it was awful. The booking passed very quickly and money was charged immediately after that the owner wrote and asked to cancel the reservation. You should not do this in any case, after all if you do that then the money will not be returned to you! If the owner writers that he cannot accept you, then let him cancel the reservation. It was good that I knew this info and did not cancel our booking. The owner did not want to do so and I had to call the customer support service i order to fix this problem. Two weeks later after the incident, I got a call from Airbnb support with apologized for such a case. They said that the person has not been renting this apartment for a long time, he left for another city, but still offers several apartments. That is most likely he deliberately deceived people by ads with fake apartments. Do not recommend this service! One star for the support!

“Love AirBnB - Reliable & fast”

I have been hosting with AirBnB since 2013 and all my transactions have been clear as water. Never have problems with my payment, it has been always on time. Highly recommended! Service Quality

“Absolute Nightmare! DONT use Airbnb Canada their Incompetence Ruined My Vacation and left me strand”

I cannot express just how appalled and disgusted I am by the sheer incompetence and disregard for customers displayed by Airbnb and its hosts. My recent experience with Airbnb and their host Doris ( property name: Richmond center, Skytrain upstairs) have me stranded, distressed, and furious, and I must share this horrific experience with the world. I had a confirmed reservation for a vacation in Vancouver for 1 night only, and I was looking forward to a fantastic stay. However, out of nowhere, the Airbnb host decided to cancel my reservation at the very last minute. No advance and reasonable prior notice with explanations, no warnings – just a cold and heartless cancellation last minute. This cancellation put me in an impossible situation. With very few options left, I have no choice but to book an alternative hotel, but I found the cost astronomical at $820 per night! ( while my booking with Airbnb host was for $291.33) and I'm financially drained and can't afford that and my vacation was tarnished beyond repair. What's even more outrageous is Airbnb's response to this situation. They claim to be a reliable platform, but their support team is utterly incompetent especially Karen. They promised a refund for my reservation, but it will take a ridiculous 15 calendar days to process. Meanwhile, I'm left high and dry with the financial burden and emotional distress caused by their unprofessional host! It's beyond belief that Airbnb allows such amateurish hosts on their platform. The lack of accountability and support for customers is mind-boggling. I'm utterly shocked and appalled that they have no qualms about putting their customers through such turmoil. My advice to anyone considering using Airbnb Canada: DONT! It's not worth the risk, the stress, or the financial burden. They've lost a loyal customer, and I intend to pursue legal action against both Airbnb and the irresponsible host for the damages they've caused me. This experience has been an absolute nightmare! And I will never trust Airbnb again. Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of this unreliable platform at all costs! Service Value Shipping Returns Quality

“Nearly ruined my honeymoon.”

I tried to rent a couple of nice places for my honeymoon. I found two wonderful spots and proceeded to booking. I entered my MC and I was told my account was now suspended because something was flagged with my card. I followed the instructions and emailed Airbnb. They said my card showed up as being from the Netherlands (?!?), and that I had to screen capture or scan the front page of my MasterCard statement. I smelled a phish and said 'bag that'! My fiancee tried to book the same places with her card and got the same response. Our cards are perfectly fine, btw. She did send them a screen capture of her statement after speaking on the phone with Airbnb. The help desk said they could not clear up the problem, but that they would High Priority flag the problem with the correct department. Two days passed with no word. She called back, and got a very helpful person who couldn't help us, but gave us assurance that the problem was flagged High Priority. Days more passed. Btw, they wouldn't accept any other payment method from us Canadians. As you might expect, the places we tried to booked got booked by other lucky people. More days passed and my fiancee called again. Same story as before. The next day, we called during regular business hours (I guess) and she was able to speak with someone in the correct department. She was told that her card statement had not been looked at because it was emailed and not submitted through the website. Well, this is what we both were told to do! That person got the ball rolling and the following day my fiancee's card was cleared. I had them cancel my account.:( We were able to book a couple places last minute, but not what we wanted. No one on the planet has ever declined my card before. Their reasons were extreme, if not spurious. Very frustrating, discourteous, and we had to do all the follow up to resolve our problem. Airbnb is not a well run company. Beware, if you have a problem, you're on the hook to get it resolved.

“So far so good.”

We had a great experiance staying at an off grid yeart in Mattawa Ontario.

“Airbnb host accused of guest stealing his laptop”

It was a horrible experience stayed with host at ******* 132nd St, Surrey. Prior to booking, we read all the good reviews on this host. With our horrible experience, we now wonder should we ever trust any reviews at Airbnb. It was a hot day when we arrived at Surrey. As we arrived at the door of this suite, we rang the bell. A young lady answered the door, and walked us through the entire suite. It was a basic suite with kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and small dinning table, chairs, tv and sofa. We were handed 2 keys. After looking around, we found that there was no window screen. As, I am allergic to mosquito bites, I commented: there is no window screen. The young lady replied there is no mosquitoes here. I was wondering, as we lived in Surrey for 15 years before we moved away. The suite was not ready as we were to wait for towels to be washed in the laundry room. The night was terribly hot and we have to close the windows due to mosquitoes. We could hardly sleep. The next day, I knocked at her door which is next to my suite. I asked if we could put a screen on the windows to allow air to come in at night. She replied with I would do anything to make sure you were comfortable. She said she had to check with her in laws up stairs. A half hour later, she came back and said ok to put a screen. We got to buy the screen and only allow to 4" wide just enough to get the window locked. The evening the young lady came by, and said if we were not happy we could move out and she will refund us. The young lady helped with cutting the screen and use a painting tape to secure the screen around the windows. Now we are a little better to sleep, but still pretty hot as the windows were not wide open. Even the young lady mentioned, how could we sleep with window closed on a hot day! The next night, my husband accidentally noticed a device looks like a camera behind the entrance door. I went to knock at the host door. This time a young man opened the door, I asked him to come to the room to see if that was a camera installed. He was angry and said: "If you are not happy you can move to a hotel". I said to him: "We are only curious and need an answer". He walked away. A few minutes later, he came with a laptop showing us the name of the device DCS, which is a security alarm sensor. We said that was fine and good to get an answer. He walked away angrily with his laptop. Do not expect any hot water in the bathroom or kitchen taps. The mattress is poor quality foam and the bed frame is higher. We knocked into the bed frame every time we go to and out of bed, and got bruised on our legs. There were three of us, and only 3 bath towels, one face towel and one hand towel were provided during our stay. No cleaning or change of towels. Wonder why do we pay for cleaning fee?! The host is real cheap! When we came home, we received an email from Airbnb saying that the host claimed that a laptop was missing at our reservation. We were a real shock to hear from our host. First of all, according to his rental, there is no laptop or computer service available. Secondly, when we checked in there was no laptop or computer in the suite. Thirdly, the only laptop we had seen was the one the host brought into our suite to show us the device of a security alarm sensor and he walked away with it. We brought our own laptop HP which is black and we put in a business case to carry. I replied to the email sent by Airbnb and also called the customer service. I explained to the representative at Airbnb what happened when we stayed at the suite. He said the truth will come out in the wash. I told him that this kind of dishonest host should not be in Airbnb website. He said Airbnb will look into that matter. I told him I did not want to write a review. He encouraged me to write an honest review so that others can see. This was the first and the last time we use Airbnb to book any reservation. It is a scam and not worth it. The hosts are rude and not helpful. The reviews all said that they are nice and helpful. We wonder if these reviews are fake or written by themselves. There is a saying: "It is too good to be true, you got to watch out!"

“Beware if your flight plan changes”

BA changed my flight date & it means i leave a day earlier When the 2nd 1/2 of my stay appeared on my card I noticed departure date was a day later than i am leaving so i asked the owner here & he said No the policy ias u have to advise of any change 1 week before u travel so i'm being charged an extra nite though i won't even be here. I asked the owner Eric if he would like to reimbursse me for his share I haven't heard bback yet Now onto the place - can u imagine a bathroom with no sink in it & a shower so small u can hardly bend to clean yr feet - No toilet roll holder since I got here tho i asked him 10 days ago to provide Towels stained 7 dirty looks like one of them had old blood stains on them. The big burner on the stove doesn't work no response yet on that except to tell me i should jiggle it which i already did No possiboilitty to put any hand laundrey out although when i asked him upon arriving & at that time he said yes but perhaps after checking with his wife she wasn't too keenor park a bike there "because the driveway has to be absolutely clear meanwhile his tree cuttings are outside my door for the last 2 or 3 days & take up as much room as a bike. Mold in the wood floor in the bathroom, which has seeped into the kitchen - no proper bath math never gave me any toilet paper other than what was there when i came. Children banging on the floors overhead, paying right outside yr window for hours sometimes yelling etc being kids So if yr looking for an AIRBNB in Montreal & u come across Eric Vendome in NDG be ready or don't take it I would never come back here norv reccomend it. The one good point is it is fairly close to Metro & bus lines Oh yes did i mention no laundry facilities on the premises & nothing close by

“Airbnb makes money from hosts. Their victims are the renters.”

Airbnb Airbnb makes money from hosts. Renters are their mug victims. 9/11/16 We booked and confirmed for a 2BR in midtown Vancouver (1028 Barclay Street) 4 months in advance. All fine except the host told us she did not have "front desk" priveleges and access would be via the side entrance. Mmmmmmm. Hosts name was Ashleigh P. A few weeks before leaving for Vancouver I noticed her listing had disappeared from Airbnb. I messaged her and she said she had had to take it down. Too many requests. Mmmmmmm. She replied using the name Nicole P. One week before leaving for Vancouver I contacted Airbnb to discuss my rising doubts. I was told there was no need to worry. They were confident all was above board. Mmmmmmm. Why were they so dismissive? 5 days before arriving I get a message reminding me she had no "contract" with the management at her condo for concierge services so she would meet me personally to let me in and show me around. Mmmmmm. 0830 on the morning of the booking I am boarding a plane to fly to Vancouver and I get a text saying to meet her at an address 38 Smithe Street Vancouver. Mmmmmmmm. WHAT? I called Nicole/Ashleigh and she tells me she cannot now provide the promised apartment as her access pass had been blocked but she has "moved us" to a 1BR in a different area of town. She is "not prepared to explain or argue with you about this". The booking is changed and she has no obligation to do more. What transpired is that she was (sub) letting an apartment illegally in a building and that the owner/building management had blocked her access. She had been doing it successfully for some time and had good reviews but now was caught out and barred. Obviously the assurance she had given Airbnb was falsified. When I raised this with Airbnb they said "we have hundreds of thousands of hosts. We can't verify all their claims". Airbnb cancelled the booking and said they would find another apartment in tge same area and standard. We trusted them as we were just a few hours from arriving. We are a 35 minute bus ride from mid town, on a very busy highway and with only a gas station anywhere bear to shop. Our holiday is completely ruined. The Airbnb "service" person took us for mugs. What is my complaint? Airbnb say Nicole told them she had a last minute hiccup and they accepted her excuse completely even though they know she gave us a completely different excuse. They agreed it was unacceptable but they had absolutely no plan to do anything other than help me find alternative accomodation: she was a successful host (aka she made big $ for Airbnb). I was told this really did not happen often and I was unlucky. I was told 4 times that Airbnb took great care to look after their customers and that my experience was unusual. I was left to understand that I should feel for the host and just get on with it. The bottom line is that Airbnb will keep Nicole/Ashleigh. They said so. She is a valuable source of income to them. They understand what has happened looks dodgy but if she tells them she is OK to offer an apartment then they will take her word for it. And if she gives a blatantly false explanation to cancel, who is Airbnb to confront her? Airbnb's model is set up to facilitate scamming and they know that and believe that they can "manage" victims when they emerge. It's a buyer beware portal. So BEWARE. Post script. Airbnb tried to charge me a fee for the cancelled booking.

Top 5 Effective Ways To Spot a Scam Website

There are many types of fake sites in the online world. We have some good news. Watch the video below to see the 5 effective ways you can spot a

fraudulent website in 2024:

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? Every time you visit a simple site and accept cookies, consent to their forms, or download an app, unscrupulous data brokers collect not just your phone number, name, AND address. They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. If you want your data deleted entirely from the online world, contact our official partners at Incogni immediately. This legitimate data privacy tool works on your behalf to officially require a ton of online brokers to remove your data.

Our staff verifies that this service works and is trustworthy. For robust, essential protection, their Standard plan is a steal at just $8.29 for individuals, and you can extend that crucial peace of mind to your entire household with the Family plan (up to 5 users) for only $16.49. They also introduced the Unlimited plan starting from $14.99 that covers not only automatic data removals, but also unlimited custom removals available right away upon purchasing the Unlimited plan. It allows users to submit websites not yet covered by Incogni and get their data removed from there, too. They also offer a free exposure scanner that will give you an insight into what data of yours is exposed and where.
