Sole Society Legal Action Email: How The Scam Works

Sole Society is a well-known company that designs and sells women fashion products. Taking advantage of its popularity, scammers came up with a new way to victimize its clients – and not only. It is a phishing scam with a message that has two variations: the Account Security Threat and the Sole Society Legal Action Email. The first one goes like this:

“You have to verify your credit card with the date of [today]. We have to do this for your past orders and current orders. We apologize for any inconvenience…. This is a process that must be followed due to your account security and new laws. This is a process that must be followed due to your account security and new laws. In the second variation of the Sole Society Email, the scheme follows an identical pattern used in the Vince Camuto Scam, which also has been going around this week. How does it work? Email account holders receive messages supposedly from the company. The email states that the client's last purchase hasn't gone through because the credit card used was fraudulent, determining a legal action as the next step.

The victims are threatened with the Police if they don't log in to a fake Sole Society page to submit a new form of payment. This way, the victims give away their credit card number – a decision leading to a financial disaster.

The majority of consumers detect this scam right away, but those on the Sole Society subscribers' list or just purchased products from the company's website fall victim to the trap. It's not surprising. Why did this happen? It looks like the Sole Society back end admin has been hacked, and the cyber crooks sent messages to everyone in the database.

Sole Society Scam: How To Avoid

You can rest assured your credit card is safe and sound as long as you didn't answer to this email. If you receive this message and have doubts about its veracity, contact the Sole Society's official website and verify your purchases. However, scammers could use other brand names as well, not just the Sole Society, so beware. Better safe than sorry.
