Rental Unlimited Mileage
How the scam works:
(with video below) Some people rent cars when they are going on a long trip and don't want to overuse their own vehicle. That's when they might get excited when they see ads promoting “unlimited mileage” offers. What happens is some rental companies bury a clause in the fine print stating that the offer applies only to “in-state travel”, and the clerks never mention it to the clients out loud.
Not reading the fine print and bringing the car back 5,000 miles later after taking it to the mountains could give you huge charges on your bill. Read the fine print!

How to avoid:
Just like all the other rental scams, this one invites you to use the best rental companies out there. If you are about to travel and want to book a car soon, rely only on the best car hire companies you know and verify them online, through forums, social media, or friends who used them.
