over the past year I have purchased quite a bit of equipment for our church from zzounds with no problems, equipment always arrived on time except one order and zzounds made it right. I hope they continue to get better. Thanks guys!!
I do not understand all the hate. I ordered a Taylor Rosewood GS Mini-e Plus around noon on Monday and it arrived less than 24 hours later. 15 minutes after I purchased it, I found the same guitar for less elsewhere. I called Zzounds customer service and after confirming the lower price, they refunded the difference immediately.
I had the most disgusting and disrespectful call today with a manager name Burt. He refused to pull the recording from the original call but he’s arguing with me over notes that a representative left in the system and he refused to let me speak to another manager. I received two defective speakers and they want me to pay for the return shipping saying it seems like I just don’t like the speakers. Stay away from this company. It’s going down hill fast.
Been buying from them for 16 yrs, never an issue. Their payment plans are great and they ship fast. Remember, customers who are pleased, won't generally leave reviews. These negative reviews make me question the reviewers. I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of equipment over the past 4 or 5 years. Close to $8,000. Guitars, keys, basses, speakers, mics and lots of effects and processors. Never had any issues, and I'm constantly looking at the site for the next purchase. Their return policy is great. All the equipment arrived on time (don't count Sundays - Fed Ex) and in great condition. I recommend them to everyone.
ZZounds cuts people's credit for no reason. I have made all of my payments on time and bought a few thousand dollars worth of stuff over the past few years. I went to use them recently and was told that I no longer could use a credit plan. Apparently, their "No Credit Check" plan does a soft pull, and they will deny you if your credit has changed while a customer. Most likely, they are not financing but selling your credit to a third-party broker that buys your paper. The profit they make is exactly as described by others' bad experiences. Selling used and poor-quality seconds as new at full retail prices. Companies sell "NEW" dealer returns as new merchandise. IE, Guitar Center sends a Gibson that's not quite right back to Gibson. Gibson sends it to ZZounds at a deep discount. They are not doing you a favor. That's for sure, financing B-grade merch at full retail price. That guitar that sat on the wall for two years at Guitar Center. Reboxed and delivered to your front door "as new." The stories of needing to send a guitar or other item back are 100% facts, not bots. Do yourself a favor and use a different company and or save your money.
All of these bad reviews claim false things and this and that, truthfully I've never had a single issue with ZZSounds and I've spent over $1500 with them. If you're late to a payment, simply shoot them an email and they'll get you sorted out easily. They have never attempted a "random" charge and their support is honestly amazing. Highly recommend them if you need gear but you're on a tight budget.
Utterly and completely idiotic. Three shipments of the same guitar, severely damaged in all cases, but different damages. One came without a headstock. No refunds, just shipment after shipment of garbage. Don't support them.
This company will treat you like garbage. I have brought and paid for more then 10 expensive items on their payment plans, never had an issue with a late payment, every item paid off and on time. They just cut my credit limit in half with no explanation. They won't allow you to speak to their credit department. This is not how you treat a long time loyal customer. I had an order placed for a new item that they told me was approved only to have it canceled without reason a few days later. If I had been late with payments or had problems in the past I would understand but I have been dealing with zzounds for over 10 years. Total slap in the face with no explanation at all.

About a year ago I had applied for their ”no credit check” installment plan. I was denied with no explanation. Fast forward to a few days ago and my new order gets cancelled again. I'm super frustrated with their “no credit check” automatically approved payment plan. Its B.S. I tried American Music Supply and was approved and currently enjoying my new equipment. I will never try to do business again with zZounds!
Bought a speaker from them that was a scratch and dent for an amazing price. It ended up that one of the woofers wasn't working and I didn't discover it until just outside of their return window. Not only did they take it back for a full refund without hassles, but they covered the shipping both ways! Stuff happens (rock n roll, right?) but a good company stands behind their products and I super appreciate that. I will buy from them again.
This is a "shiesty", "fly-by-night" outfit that should be avoided at all costs. Their customer service is non-existent, and they do not answer Emails. And, they will never resolve any disputes, or honor exchanges. I recently purchased a set of Seymour Duncan "Texas Hot" Antiquity series pick ups for a Fender Stratocaster that were advertised as "new", but "warehouse resealed". Upon taking this set to a local luthier, he found that the neck pick up was not only defective and didn't work, but "used"! Zzounds did knowingly and purposely sell a set of used pick ups as new! This seems to be a recurring business practice by this company, as attested to in all of their negative consumer surveys. I wish I had researched this company and read those reviews prior to my dealings with this disreputable store. I hope this review prevents someone else from having to go through the same grievances.

Great selection of musical instruments and DJ / audio products. Ability to make affordable monthly payments same as cash, not like rip-off rent-to-own companies. Prices are great. Shipping is very fast. Just wish that Zzounds sold photography equipment and supplies as well.
bought a guitar from them, showed up later than promised, and the wrong color, I called, they were rude obnoxious, so I just paid for it,, let it go,later order another from them, they were blocking my number and canceling my order, called to ask why,to find, supervisr there was telling them to hang up and block my number after getting my bank info,not worth the childish games, bad service, bad buisness practices.
Ordered a guitar which is extremely delayed. They don’t care about inquiring at all to find out what’s going on. When you spend $5,000 for a guitar , you expect there to be some customer service. People like Matt who work at zzounds couldn’t care any less if you get the product you paid for or not. Like literally couldn’t care any less. Awful employees and awful customer service experience even when you’re paying thousands of dollars.
I have never had any issues with zzounds. Everything comes quickly and they are flexible within reason on payments. Being able to divide large purchases up over the years has been a godsend. Thanks for being awesome zzounds. Giving me an opportunity to stay sane by doing the stuff that I love in a more affordable manner.
Ordered a pick-up arrived D.O.A. Called the same day the pick-up arrived, never installed it tested it out beforehand. They have a policy of not accepting returns on defective pick-ups. Customer service was useless, ended up going to the manufacturer who was super helpful. Horrible company!

“Ran credit twice!”

I was approved for a flx10,but it was on back order,3months later when they finally got it,they ran my credit again.this time I was NOT approved! I waited so long to up grade only to be let down! So don't do it! It's a big let down! Tip for consumers:Is that if you're approved for an item they will run and it's own back order. “Sold Broken product would not refund”

My dad purchased me an open box $370 microphone for Christmas. I left it unopened until I had to equipment to use it. After opening and testing I discovered it was broken. We were just outside the return policy, so I understand why we couldn't return it... but they wouldn't even offer a credit towards another microphone. They simply said we were out of luck, out of the $370 even though they sold us a broken microphone. They said "sorry you didn't open it up in time for it to be returned." “Beware”

It was a huge mistake ever doing business with this company and will never happen again. If the transaction goes smooth, it's easy, in my case I ran into a problem with FedEx making the delivery. Everyday the item would be out for delivery but never reached my location. After a week and a half of making phone calls to FedEx and zzounds, I realized that both companies are pretty much impossible to deal with. Literally all I needed from zzounds was for them to tell FedEx that it was ok for me to pick the package up at a FedEx location since a ridiculous amount of time had went by and it still wasn't being delivered. They flat out refused to do that or help me get the package that actually fully belongs to me. I will speak the word about this terrible company far and wide. Hopefully they won't be around to screw people over much longer.

I recently bought a set of Srymour Duncan "Texas Hot" Antiquity series pick ups for a Fender Strat from this "shiesty" company under their "pay as you play" program. This product was advertised and sold as "new", and described as a "warehouse reseal". But, upon taking this set to a local luthier to be installed, he found that the neck pick up was, not only defective and did not work, but used! It showed evidence of shrink wrapping over a splice on the black lead. Zzounds purposely and knowingly repackaged a used and defective pick up and sold it as new! Now, their so called customer service is putting it all off on me, and telling me I have to go through Seymour Duncan's warranty process. Zzounds is taking no responsibility for their deceptive business practices. My advice? “Horrible customer service and managers”

Dont get me wrong zzounds sounds pretty cool however they are not! I am so upset I thought this was going to be my one stop for buying music equipment. I have used them before in the past too. They say they do not check credits "ever" but they checked mine. They sent me two different emails with each one saying something completely different. Whenever you place your order it takes a full day to process and then they will actually start processing your order. They do not tell you what your limit is. Apparently i have a maximum limit of $3000 and $1500. Customer service agents are just lazy and seem extremely tired or bored. When they transferred me to the manager he was even worse than the customer reps. It was difficult to hear him and he did not know what he was talking about. It sounded like he was saying whatever to get me to hang up even though I was in the right. I am willing to cancel all my orders i have financed and take my business elsewhere. A+++ experience. ZZounds made a drummer's dream come true. After recently losing one of my best friends from high school to a car accident, the person who taught me how to play drums and made me hear/feel music differently, I decided it was time to play again. ZZounds made that possible. They delivered everything in the order on-time and I couldn't even find a scratch from shipping. I couldn't believe how fast it came via 2-day Fed Ex. “Refuses to take any responsibility for defective products after 45 days”

I ordered a Taylor classical guitar through zZounds. Within several weeks the tuning peg assembly started pulling away from the neck. When I reported this defect, the company stated that 45 days had passed so there was nothing it would. Avoid this seller.

“Horrible customer service/return system. Don't recommend.”

I ordered a travel size instead of a regular size guitar by accident. The problem began when I realized I had ordered the wrong size guitar and began looking into the return/exchange process. After filling out the return request, I waited a full 2-3 days before getting a response. But the main thing that set me off was the fact that I had to pay to send it across the country (from NV to NJ), when they had shipped it from a guitar store 45 minutes from my house. The return cost was half the amount I had spent on the guitar itself, which is absolutely ridiculous. I called to company to try to figure out what was going on and why I was having to spend that kind of extra money, and the guy just kept telling me it was my responsibility... they definitely need to clarify that somewhere in the checkout process. I've been buying for several years and recently had an issue where Fedex left my new gear "at the front door" which means it's out on the street of an apartment building in New York City! Is Fedex kidding? Needless to say, I didn't get it and Zzounds sent out a replacement within a few days, well before the projected timeline of the investigation concluded. A+ and thanks guys!

I'm not sure what was happening and why so many bad reviews. I ordered via the no credit check and easy payments for 4 months, no credit check as stated, approved instantly, my wavestate was shipped same day then arrived in 24 hours to my door by fedex, who rang my doorbell. It arrived well within the stated time. I read these reviews after i had ordered two items and my stomach sank. These reviews are misleading and anxiety-causing. So for anyone reading this, i'm not sure how accurate this all is but they did exactly what they say in the website. “Great but...”

When I first got my guitar from this website, It arrived pretty fast and for first few days, my guitar is working but the electronics could've been to be put more work on because the toggle switch has a crack inside of that crucial part making one pickups work while the other isn't and my input jack was somehow not getting any connection. Thankfully, I got my father to fix these issues. As a Company that delivers music equipment, there's need more improvement when it needs to come for inspection whether the electronics or the quality for example my guitar. I'll use this as an website backup if I can't find the guitar that I wanted.

Purchased this guitar as blemished so I knew there would be scratches, nicks etc. Now the guitar itself is great but it was delivered with one of the tuners completely broke off. Called to see maybe if I could get a little off the price because the instrument is damaged at this point. No, has to be returned and I could purchase a new one or keep it because it happened in shipping. There was zero damage to the shipping box and it takes quite alot to break a metal tuner button so was definitely sent to me that way... just be careful if you purchase from Zzounds. I had to call back to find out that the didn't ship my order. They stated it was due to an address error that could easily be fixed, and when I asked why no one called me to correct it, they couldn't give an answer. Idk if I will order from zzounds again for a while.
