zillow.com Review

The Scam Detector website Validator gives zillow.com a fairly high trust score on the platform: 81.6. It signals that the business is best defined by the following tags: Fair. Valid. Known.. We are confident about our score as we also partner with other high-tech, fraud-prevention companies that found the same issues. So, why this score? We came up with the 81.6 score based on 53 aggregated factors relevant to zillow.com's industry. The algorithm detected a low risk for activity related to phishing, spamming, and other factors noted in the Fair. Valid. Known. tags above. Long story short, we deemed this a known website, with a low scam probability. But let's explain in more detail.

Explaining Our Analytical Approach

We've displayed some important information within the Company Details section above, each deserving more explanation:

  • Proximity to Suspicious Websites
  • Threat Profile
  • Phishing Profile
  • Malware Score
  • Spam Score
  • Domain Blacklist Status
  • HTTPS connection
  • Domain Creation Date

While some are self-explanatory concerning zillow.com, let's look closer at the remaining ones.

Proximity to Potentially Harmful Websites

This metric gauges the connection, scored on a scale of 1 to 100, between zillow.com and websites marked as suspicious. Elevated scores point to a stronger link with these questionable online destinations. It's worth noting that website owners might not always be aware of their site's proximity to these dubious platforms or servers. However, a "Proximity to Suspicious Websites" score surpassing 80 strongly indicates a high-risk website, while a score below 30 signifies a less-threatening site.

Risk Factors: Threat, Phishing, Malware, and Spam

These indicators reveal the vulnerabilities and elements embedded within the HTML code of zillow.com. They become especially pertinent if the website has received reports from internet users who've encountered unsolicited emails, ads, or messages related to the site. In the context of zillow.com, our investigation continues working to pinpoint the specific category, but we welcome your insights in the comments below. A high Malware score generally implies the presence of suspicious code that might be unknowingly disseminated. Conversely, a high Spam score hints at a possibly spam-ridden email address associated with the business. Scores under 30 in both categories are reassuring, but any score surpassing this threshold should raise concerns. zillow.com is an innocuous suspicious website, given all the risk factors and data numbers analyzed in this in-depth review. Share your experience in the comments.

Domain Blacklisting Status

This term indicates whether zillow.com has landed on any online directories' blacklists and earned a suspicious tag.

Assessing HTTPS Connectivity

This section provides insight into whether zillow.com boasts an 's' at the end of the 'HTTP' protocol listed in your browser's address bar. If the tab displays in green, consider it a positive sign.

Safe Check

We want our trust scores and reviews to be as accurate as possible so that you can protect yourself from online fraud. Our algorithm aggregates factors that efficiently analyze a company's website, in this case, zillow.com.

Who is managing this site? A friend of mine brought to my attention that my house comes up on this site (without my permission!) and shows it is worth about 1/2 of it's current value! WTF?! And, it's not for sale right now anyway. If you don't know the actual price, stop making shit up!
Someone by the name of Denver is claiming to be the owner of the property at 3944 Woburn Drive, Tucker, GA 30084 on the Zillow.com site. Zillow's interface sucks. Anyone can come on and "claim" a property and try to sell it even if they are not the agent for the property. I am posting this on behalf of the owner who does not know how to use technology and I am one of his assistants.
It’s so difficult to write a negative review for the agents advertising on Zillow app,it seems only 5 stars reviews are allowed to post.we got scammed by realtors Stephanie regime and Derick Harry who are advertising on Zillow and realtor.com,they paid these websites to recommend them while they are very unprofessional and very dishonest.
There have been many glitches in my use, also the lack of extra media can hurt my searches or personal listings.
Zillow has been great for me. Have used in the past when I listed my home. As well as recently, when searching for a property to purchase. Looking for a buyer agent and was immediately connected to a great agent.
God awful. You just want an agent to call you directly or answer a specific question about info that's not listed on the listing. They constantly call you - a barrage of calls EVERY SINGLE DAY! It's obnoxious!!!
i like zillow, not once have i had any problems i am surprised at the reviews. i would like to see 3-6 family houses or apt buildings, just a little more, my only issue not a bad one either.i give five stars. i know i would never use rent cafe, they advertise bad unihabitable housing , i know fact, im in one.speaking what i know and for myself.
I have tried to post my rental listing on Zillow, with no success. I tried over and over again. They keep saying that they need to prove ownership by sending current proof of ownership such as recent insurance or tax documents. I sent these documents over and over. But still no success. I couldn't get a person to speak with or any help to correct what the problem was very frustrating. I wouldn't recommend using there services. If you have a problem no one will be able to help you.Very disappointed!
Zillow has been the worst experience for having my clients write reviews or use the platform in general as a realtor. Each time that my client tries to write a review, the platform does not post it. Then my past sales do not show on the platform either. I have written to their support team over 20 times asking for help and I never get a response. Their platform confuses sellers on the value of their home with giving false numbers that are not based on actual market values and they do not provide any assistance for realtors. Their system says that they will provide leads after charging a ridiculous amount of fees, but I have heard the quality is very low. Most of the leads are spam and completely fake. Do not use zillow for looking at homes, looking at reviews or basically any form of housing service. You will be disappointed with the inaccuracy. This platform should be forced to shut down as it gives deceiving information to consumers.
we spent over $40,000 a month on Zillow leads for 7 consecutive months. these the worst leads we ever seen in 22 years. the customers would offer wrong information, they refused to see more than one property, they wanted to see one and only that one property. After 6 months of follow up, over 95% refused to respond to text, emails, phone calls and none would open any properties that we sent them
Apartment owners note that LISTING YOUR APARTMENTS will take WEEKS. Zillow will not let you list anything anymore. You will need to go thru their sales people and they don't call you back for at least a week. There is No service from zillo, just an EXPENSIVE cash call. Apartments.com is very quick with service and better priced. Unfortunately zillow was good, but now they are just inefficient and expensive.
The app itself is ok but Zillow need to stop promoting some of this nonsense these landlords need to be ashamed for putting some of this junk up for rent then have the audacity to ask a arm and leg Attention All Landlords no one wants to pay 1000.00 to live in a home where the windows haven’t been updated since 1960, and no one uses dirty funky brown carpet anymore, update your cabinets were not in the 1950’s my god ,and paint all your damn wall one descent color , put some good flooring down ,and have the house cleaned before a showing Some of you are terrible and down right cheap the law needs to crack down on landlord abuse then about 80 percent of you swindle people out of deposits people should start suing you all you should have your properties the way you would want to live 50% of the homes in stark counties look like abandoned homes on these rental sites and the city should be notified but this is what Zillow is getting paid to promote shame on you all.
I've tried 3 times to resolve a rent & sale simultaneous listing not showing. The Zillow FAQ says to contact customer service to resolve this. Tried multiple times with zero response and no resolution. Zillow customer service is broken and the quality of their data and consumer usefulness is suffering. Consider using other platforms for complete market information. Update: It has been weeks and zero contact from Zillow after four help requests. Realtor.com shows both listings; I suggest everyone use it for a complete market view.
This site is a scam. It appears to only advertise MLS listings as a front for lending companies. I actually received a call that came up Zillow from India. A marketing scheme. All these search engines appear to be the same. They are a way to hack your credit with pre approval applications and your information is now in other countries. If your buying or even selling best to call a local realtor in your area.
Zillow for sale by owner process is total CRAP. Won't accept a listing and NO verification call. Finally managed to get some clown at Zillow to answer me. They say they've changed their policy on FSBO listings to now require additional documentation to verify ownership. Be real nice if they'd disclose that up front to consumers.
Have no issues listing my rental property on Zillow. Trying to sale parcel of land and commercial property. For some reason Zillow will not except my listings. Been sending emails for two months trying to get this listed but Zillow will not respond to my emails. Tried calling but cannot get through their automation keeps telling me to email. Very disappointed in their customer support team.
You should never trust Zillow's background check. Zillow takes no responsibility and doesn't care about the difficult situations you may face. They don’t care about anything because they are currently powerful. Worst worst worst experience ever!!!!!!!!
Tried listing a rental house on Thursday, however once I went through the process including uploading pictures and everything it was 'under review for 24 hours'. No biggie I figured, I'll see it go live Friday. Here I am on Saturday and now the account is locked with no reason given. The pics were just of the house, no people visible and nothing out of the ordinary. No idea why but time is passing and I lost a weekend for viewing. If you want something reliable, don't use Zillow. I would add that their Zestimate was too high for the area, likely wishful thinking to draw people in.
The listing process was easy and I got a lot of responses. For the first time, I took applications and credit checks through Zillow, and even signed a lease through Zillow.Never again. After 1 month, you can not go back to view Application reports -- they EXPIRE. You better take screen shot (unlike EZLandlord where reports are kept in your portal as a pdf). Editing the lease was clumsy and time consuming as well. USE ZILLOW TO MARKET BUT DIRECT POTENTIAL TENANTS TO ANOTHER SITE FOR CREDIT CHECKS AND LEASES!
Made an inquiry about an available property, and forgot to un-check the "would you like to receive offers" pre-checked radio button. ...and then proceeded to be BLASTED by telemarketing calls. Made the inquiry on a Saturday morning. Calls started to trickle in Sunday afternoon, then first thing Monday morning the deluge began. Over 100 calls by mid-day Tuesday. OVER ONE HUNDRED in a day and a half.

“Delusional and unprofessional agent”

I reported Zandeep Kumar which is a real estate agent associated with Zillow, for a harassing and delusional email I received from him this morning. I was considering on renting a property through this agent, I accepted a job offer in Virginia I am currently living in Florida. I did not get the job in Virginia I informed him that via text i gave him a 500.00 deposit but I did not sign ANY lease because I no longer needed the apartment. I lost my deposit which is understandable, but I am extremely confused and uncomfortable by his email I received today saying that rent is due and to please pay in order to avoid any penalties. I never stepped foot into that property and I never put my signature on anything, he was very adamant on renting this property to me but I was not able to take it, I have proof from our text that I never moved forward with this apartment he also said in the text that he understood and he will find another tenant. This is a very serious situation, and I will take any legal steps necessary if he decides to proceed with any kind of penalty. Tip for consumers:Not at this time. “Becoming a Zillow premier agent”

We became Zillow Premier agents 5/29/24. Our first experience was a showing "no show," that was double booked with another Zillow agent, at the same property, 30 minutes prior. Agent support could not explain how this could happen. We agreed to paying $800/month for 4 leads who Zillow said would be verified pre-screened, pre-qualified leads that are ready to buy and are requesting to book appointments. This lead counted as one. With multiple calls, emails, and an escalation to supervisors, Zillow still has no explanation how this happened. They have now credited $250.00 for this one lead. In 2 months, we have had 2 bookings, both no shows. 2 calls were customers who already have agents, 2 calls were customers who requested to speak with listing agent only, 1 who pushed button to speak with for sale by owner, and none who were pre-qualified or ready to buy. In addition, we had multiple messages that we had missed a Zillow connection call, though our phones did not ring. We connected two phones to our account to ensure that we didn't miss calls and troubleshooted re-uploading app, resetting phone options, etc. and could still not answer calls once they did ring. Each of these went against our answer % rate and showed as missed or declined. When we received other calls they repeatedly failed to connect though we answered every time. We reported this multiple times through calls and emails and requested a refund. Agent support assured us that they were working to resolve and app was being updated and problem was being reported to their engineers then committed to follow up but would not return calls nor have ever provided compensation. Each failed lead was a missed opportunity to connect with a potential client which is impossible to put a price on. None of this was due to our phone system or lack of understanding how to answer. Our phone works perfectly for our other leads and clients every other day. Our phones are our business. We looked at a lot of reviews on other platforms and now realize how bad it is. We wanted to do this review to help any other agents thinking of become a premier agent. Don't waste your money it's a scam. Sent from Mail for Windows

“Not reliable”

Zille is posting untrue information about people's remaining mortgages. They're lie to the public and don't update information on their website. They are not reliable site.

“Questions”

You can't ask a question without getting inundated with calls. I was looking at a property and a question was not addressed. The only way to get information is "contact the agent" and it isn't even the listing agent. It is any vulture that wants to reach out to you. Even when I specifically said to contact me via email, I was fielding calls all morning at work. Why make this so hard?

“Zillow dropped my home value online when it actually went up”

Zillow is reckless with its home values. I am in a market of little change. They appear to be trying to force a market swing downward for their investors. They dropped my home value by ******* online in just a period of 3 months. Reckless. Even the bank value who is very conservative is 20,000 higher than theirs. Now all the people they sold to are in the hole.

“Zillow errors ignores & unfixable”

I have a home listed incorrectly on Zillow. I have called multiple times and my Realtor has attempted to contact them as well. Neither of us have been successful despite the message- We will get back with you shortly. We are going to miss out on multiple views due to Zillows error. I have a 4 bedroom 2 bath home which Zillow has listed as a 1/1. I understand mistakes happen but have the means to correct the mistake. This is completely unprofessional and going to cost me in the end.

“Horrible waste of time and money”

I have just paid my last monthy extortion with Zillow. After 8 months, agents attending all recommended seminars and almost $20,000 here is the breakdown of my outcome. 1. Sales 0 2. Listings 0 3.Leads that have a great shot of buying and or selling 0 4.Leads that have a small amount of buying or selling 0 It's too late for me save yourself a lot of time and money run from Zillow. Service Value Quality

“They play games.”

I set up at tour date. They had computer contact me. Then they had a computer call me. I don't talk to computer so I hung up. Someone who was not in the area called me she was on the other side of the state. Express my concerns they were more concerned about selling. I felt like I was the monkey in the middle. I told the computer,I would get my own realtor

“I had noticed that someone had taken pictures of the inside of our house and posted it on Zillow.com”

A long time ago, we had someone had came into our house and took pictures of the inside of our house and we have found it on Zillow.com. We are very confused on why our house is the only house on Zillow having pictures taken on the inside. We, my parents and I are really not OK with our house being on Zillow.com. So if y´all can take our house off of Zollow.com, that would be great. Thanks.

“Scam”

I got scam of $342,941 by an agent whom I found on Zillow after I made payment I didn't get a response from him I was able to get my money back with the help of Reguls.online they did all they can for me to get my money back all thanks to them you can contact them if you're victim of scam Tip for consumers:Be careful a lot of scammers are here claiming to be agent don’t fall for them Products used:Reguls.online

“Zillow shielding agents”

I usually love Zillow for shopping new properties and deals however upon trying to review an unscrupulous realtor I found that they are shielding Realtors using their premium service from some negative reviews. I've submitted eight different times honest and will tempered review of one specific realtor and every time there's a new reason they won't accept it. I'm just putting this out there be wary, they are known in some of the real estate forums to do this. Service Quality

“So what does Zillow.com really do?”

So what does Zillow.com really do? Of over 12 calls to leasing agents for property posted for rent in the San Antonio area, only ONE agent emailed me back. I was talking with another friend who had exactly the same experience. We had a good laugh but are extremely frustrated. Being out of town makes it VERY difficult to find something suitable to rent. I can't recommend Zillow listings.

“Negative reviews needed!”

I'm an agent who has tried several times to contact "No" customer service! They don't respond and just ignore your requests but constantly want your money! How are they even still in business! Negative stars deserved!

“Don't waste your time with Zillow's evaluations in S. W. Florida”

It takes more than anonymous algorithm to evaluate a home's value. There is the old location times 3, quality of construction, curb appeal. When fluctuations of my home's, quite unrealistically, value drops by almost 20%, according to Zillow, in basically a flat to growing market, over a couple of months, something is terribly wrong. Especially when Zillow changes their valuation graph to agree with their new estimate, not showing the higher evaluation as part of their presentation which appeared on earlier graphs. Original estimate was closer to reality in the first place. Almost all of the realtors whom I speak with think Zillow leaves a great deal to be desired regarding information when purchasing a house in S. W. Florida... Do your own due diligence and avoid being misinformed and possibly missing out. Tip for consumers:Do your own due diligence.

“Zillow site-Needs customer review section”

Nightmare. Zillow states my home was sold last month for twice Zillow's market Value (wrong too). This should have been a red flag! Home never for sale. Same owner-me for 30 years. Wrong # of units. Z says they use info from recorders office. If they mean my PIN# = yes. Actual recorded info = no (THANK GOD). Mountains of snail junk mail with another name on it... still trying to straighten out.

“Zero stars”

Zillow is a joke. And it's going down hill fast. Providing false information, not having phone support, not responding to emails. Straight trash. Overcharging realtors for BS leads. I hope you guys go bankrupt. Tip for consumers:Use realtor.com Service Value Quality

“These people report inaccurate information and will...”

These people report inaccurate information and will do absolutely nothing to fix it. US Government do something positive for a change start fining companies with numerous complaints against them or shut them down!

“I'm an apartment manager, and listed fake ads for my...”

I'm an apartment manager, and listed fake ads for my units. Listing lower prices than what we charge, and we had no openings, but they put that a couple were open. I have contacted them TEN TIMES in six days. They keep saying they have taken it down, just looked, and it's still up. Isn't great that they get ad money for making things up. Now if you don't mind, I have to answer a call from somebody who thought they found the perfect place. Thanks Zillow!

“Zillow is in reality, "Fake Appraisals"”

Think about it. Artificial Intelligence used to place valuation on your property. Then, would-be buyers look at the price and take it as gospel because, "I read it on the internet". Zillow, Realtor.com, Trulia... and all the rest. They are more than happy to publish a number they won't stand behind. At the peril of a seller losing money because overzealous agents in a local real estate mafia use the hammer to favor buyer advantage of setting the price. This truly is anti-trust violation. Price fixing. Given the "over the phone" conversations each website has with paying agents who advertise with the websites, is a clear breeding ground for dishonesty and deception. Sellers are getting screwed, and people just walk away pissed off.

“Don`t let their pitch fool you it is for brokers.”

This firm-also own Trulia-if for brokers. My home had 2338 views and 68 saves and not a call via zillow. When you type in contact agent your email appears. I tried it no response and had both daughters try it and it is a scam-no action. We listed with a broker who said it is basically a platform for their forthcoming brokerage adventure. I would avoid it as all you get are calls from brokers wanting to list your home. I asked a question-no phone response for sellers only agents-it has been 3 days and nothing-"we will get back to you ASAP" counting 4 days now and the question was regarding failures in their system to notify me of potential buyers. Bad news place! Tip for consumers:It is free and worth as much-don`t expect any real help selling a home. It will ensure your phone never stops with brokers wanting to list your home. Products used:A variable commission broker. Service Value Quality

“Lead Generation Scam”

I as well as several other realtors have tried this lead generation program. Do not waste your money on these garbage leads. They work based on impressions so anyone that comes onto the website is what they consider a referral (bad names, bad numbers, pre mature buyers/seller and window shoppers). I do not even know how it is legal to sell these so called "referrals" and then sell the same "referral" to at least 25 other agents. You should be ashamed of yourself Zillow.

“No home values for houses in Canton MA 02021”

No home values for most houses in Canton MA *******. They cannot fix this since June 2017 (now is October). There are only prices assessed in 2014! Emailed to Zillow - no answer. Horrible customer service - no phone connection.

“Inaccurate information, No way to change”

Zillow has had inaccurate information about my home on their website for almost a year. I have written to them on four (4) separate occasions to get it corrected. Every time they reply with the "there's nothing we can do" response. I even sent screen shots showing how the search results don't even match the address entered, but the "Help" people again said, "Nothing we can do about it." So the data they have is incorrect, unreliable, not factual, points to the wrong addresses, and they can't do a thing about it. Recommend you use other resources.

“Horrible customer service”

Horrible customer service. I listed my rental on Zillow and started getting calls the same day. 48 hours later I had my rental secured with a new tenant! Great! So now I have been spending the last two weeks trying to remove the rental so people stop calling me. I have contacted Zillow corporate in Seattle three times and all you get is an answering machine telling you to leave a message and I'll call you back. They never called back. There is no Tab for landlords on their website! Oh we can a half later, I am giving up. The thing is, that this is going to reflect negatively on Zillow because when people don't get return phone calls for me, they will blame Zillow, not me.

“Iffy”

The customer service is a little iffy. There are many scams to watch out for. I find myself constantly reporting obviously fraudulent listings. The private listers are so much more professional than the realtors that list. The feature for renters to pay fees thru the app does help with the legitimacy of each rental. Tip for consumers:What out for scams like rentals that are too cheap to be true or people asking you to send them fees and deposits thru cash apps. Products used:I have found most places I have rented the past few years from Zillow. Some were not what they seemed, others were decent. Service

How To Remove Your Information From the Internet

Whether you like it or not, unfortunately, the Internet has all your personal information stored. How did that happen? They also sell this to third parties, which creates a $1 billion industry a year. Your collected personal data is used by buyers to send you never-ending spam emails, targeted ads, and, of course, telemarketing calls. Crooks use all your data without remorse.

We can help. Many people have asked us about how to remove your personal information from the Internet. Are You the Owner of zillow.com?

If you own zillow.com, we’d love to hear from you. If you'd like to challenge the trust score we’ve assigned, we’re happy to take a closer look. However, please be prepared to provide solid proof of your business's legitimacy. Introduce yourself with your name (not just "Admin").

When domain owners contact us to dispute their trust score, we kindly ask for the following:

* Business documentation that verifies your legitimacy (e.g., certificate of incorporation, business registration, or official records with the site or business name).

* Your personal LinkedIn profile and the business's social media accounts (e.g., Facebook).

* If available, proof of satisfied customers (e.g., screenshots, not just testimonials on your website), evidence of inventory, or records of handling order cancellations properly.

We’re more than willing to update your review based on the evidence you provide—the more proof, the higher your trust score. Please note, however, that we cannot verify non-operational websites or those redirected to other URLs. Additionally, we do not verify websites involved in high-risk financial services, gambling, adult content, or illegal activities.
